Curse has updated their Confirmed Patch 2.3.0 Changes page. Latest updates are bolded. General Quest reward experience will be increased for quests ranging from level 30 to 60. The increase becomes more substantial the closer you get to 60. Experience required per-level 20-60 will be decreased by approximately 15% for each level. New goblin town added to Dustwallow Marsh called Mudsprocket. 60 new quests added to Dustwallow Marsh for the level 30-40 range. All boss-dropped items in instances on Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms have been upgraded to rare quality(Blue). Source. All instances on Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms have been rebalanced to be similar to Burning Crusade design, with a much smaller level range across the instance. Spell effects labeled “Increases Healing by x” will now increase spell damage by around 33% of that value as well. The 33% spell damage bonus on +healing affects enchants, gems, and all the other items, however it doesn’t include

The latest patch serves as a hot fix for newly (and some previously) introduced bugs in 2.2.2 Bug Fixes Clients utilizing OpenGL video modes will no longer experience graphical anomalies and missing textures after minimizing/maximizing the window. Fixed an issue that caused Fel Eye Stalks during the Legion Ring event to not despawn when the event is completed. Fixed an issue where zoning after mounting and summoning a pet was disconnecting players. Fixed an issue where the Shift key would get stuck in game. Using a /equip macro while affected by certain crowd control spells will no longer cause the items in the macro to be stuck in your inventory. Using very low values for SetScale() will no longer cause Mac users to disconnect from the game. Default sound channels have been changed from 12 to 32. 2 Weeks ago, a discussion about the price cut for North America n PlayStation 3 have been speculated over Gamespot’s Rumor Control page. Sony, after 2 weeks, pretty much wrapped things up as they confirmed that the 40GB North American PlayStation 3 gets the green and is on their way to the markets on November 2, 2007. The 40GB Playstation 3 will not be backwards compatible with Playstation 2 games, comes bundled with a Spiderman 3 Blu-ray movie, Does not have a memory card holder and loses 2 of the USB ports will retail for $399. The 80GB Playstation 3 will now then be sold for only $499.00. Competing consoles, though cheaper, are now closer to Playstation 3’s price. Australia Bans Soldier of Fortune: Pay Back

Australia’s Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) banned Soldier of Fortune , making it illegal to sell or own the first-person shooter game from Activision. This means that the game didn’t even pass the MA15+ classification. The MA+15+ restriction prohibits games that 15 year olds in Australia can’t play due to gore, nudity, violence or drug-related stuff. The reason for SoF : Payback being banned, according to OFLC is that “playing impact… was a high impact which exceeded the MA15+ classification” - “close range shooting with substantial blood spray, blood splatters onto the ground and walls, [the ability to] target various limbs of the opponent which can result in dismemberment, and large amounts of blood sprayed which comes from the stump but victims sometime stay alive”. With OFLC saying that, im sure a lot of gamers would be more than interested to own the game now. Other games that are banned in Australia are BMX XX

Supreme commander, the best RTS game to ever hit the PC since Starcraft (or Total Annihilation for some) will be released on the console as well. Chris Taylor, the master behind the engineering and concept of the game said that they are now developing console versions for supreme commander, The first of which is for the Xbox 360. Chris also hints that they will be releasing the games on other console platforms as well. Supreme Commander humbled lot of mid range PCs because it’s only playable on mid-high to high-end PCs. It may sound ambitious for Gas powered games to unleash this power-hungry game on consoles but it’s something that everyone would like to see. If they manage to pull it off, it could be the renaissance of RTS gaming on the console.

We recall that Manhunt 2 has faced controversies even before it got released. Banned in Australia for gory scenes and raised a couple of politician eyebrows, Rockstar was forced to make a toned down version of the game. But the unedited version wasn’t really scrapped in oblivion like what the authorities expected. The unedited version of the Manhunt 2 Ps2 game has been leaked and distributed to the internet since September. According to Rockstar games, they have identified the suspect and “sacked” him/her. [Rockstar] accepts the game was leaked onto the web by an employee of a different company who had access to the preview copy. That person has been sacked. The “Different company” that Rockstar was referring to is Sony, thus freeing Rockstar of any suspicion of trying to get the unedited version across to the public for fame’s sake. Microsoft sets it’s eyes on it’s next target, Japan . Microsoft knows well that the Xbox 360 in the Japanese’s market is not as big compared to the rest of the world (in terms of % of console owners in a region). Starting November 1, 2007, Microsoft expects to deepen Xbox 360’s penetration into the Japanese market by cutting the price of Xbox 360 20GB bundle in the region from $350 down to $300 (¥34,800 from ¥39,795). The Xbox 360 core will then be sold for $245 from $263 (¥27,800 from ¥29,800). The 20GB bundle will not be having a HDMI cable but comes with 2 games Viva Piñata and Forza Motorsport 2. Protip: The $50 discount this Halloween should make gamers wonder how further (down) it would get during the Christmas season.

The graphical and gameplay complexity of bioshock doesn’t come without flaws. Aside from having high system requirements, some people who still meet or exceed the Bioshock system requirements still can’t run the game because of bioshock startup errors or bioshock mid-game crashes. Listed below are the collected bioshock errors along with the corresponding solution. If the problems the bioshock problems you encounter are not listed below or the ones listed do not work, feel free to scroll further down and write all about it so you can notify me and I’ll help you find a workaround for that error. Problem : I tried running Bioshock but it wont startup for me. I meet the minimum/recommended system requirements for bioshock but i still can’t run it. Solution : Bioshock will have problems running on older video card drivers. Make sure y0u are using the latest one. Hellgate London demo Error and bugs Fixes

If you encounter problems not listed here or want clarifications, feel free to comment to this post and we’ll try to help you fix the hellgate london demo. Problem : Hellgate London Transparent or Invisible Character model problems with Geforce 7950GX2 similar to the one in this link : screenshot Solution : Using the Nvidia control panel, under 3D settings there is a setting called “Antialiasing - Transparency”. That setting has three options: Off, Multisampling, and Supersampling. Turning this setting to Off fixed the transparency bug on all player/mob models. Turning it to Multisampling causes all models to become transparent. Turning this setting to supersampling did not cause transparency issues, but did cause graphical bugs / general anomalies with all models in the game. Conversely, turning off antialiasing completely will also fix the transparency bug, as doing that automatically sets the “Antialiasing - Transparency” setting to off. Solution #
