A Truly Outrageous Halloween
2007-10-28 20:48:13
Oh, I’m such a sucker for Halloween . I hope everyone else had as much fun as I did. Lots of friends came to the house warming/Halloween party and we had punch, candy, and pizza and costumes and movies and it was so incredible. Lots of cute costumes too. Nicole and I were running around getting decorations and last minute surprises and bought matching winter coats and I think we look adorable. Jei went to Art Van and bought a bed while I was sleeping. This is totally okay because we really don’t agree on hardly anything furniture wise, mostly because I like lots of things and Jei’s very particular. I’ve never been one for fancy furniture or decorations. Probably the bathroom is the most decorating I’ve done because I like to have bare essentials and not much else. So really I’m content in letting Jei pick whatever and I’ll be content as long as he’s happy with it. I can’t wait to see it. It’s being delivered on the 31st. Je

Half-Off Weekend Frenzy
2007-10-26 22:46:48
What’s so special about this weekend? Why are there so many sales? Well, Bath and Body Works is having a 50% off “fall favorites” sale, and it’s apparently national. When I stopped in they had FOUR bottles of Cinnamon Bun Heaven left. I SNAGGED THEM. YES. OMG. Fear not, when summer comes and they no longer carry it I will still smell of cinnamon buns! I looked longingly for several minutes at the Pumpkin Pie Paradise but when I smelled it, it just couldn’t compete with the Cinnamon Bun Heaven. However, they also carry lip gloss now in these food flavors but didn’t have cinnamon bun, so I decided on pecan pie and pumpkin pie. One day they will have laundry detergent smelling like food instead of these silly flowers and clean linen. WHO WANTS TO SMELL LIKE DAISES OVER DELICIOUS FOOD?! Come ON people. Get with it! (I’m only slightly teasing here.) Art Van is also having a sale this weekend and so Jei and I are going to go browsing. Time for a new

Potty Break!
2007-11-03 00:31:39
Pumpkin likes going to the store with me. He hears me getting my coat and comes running… I seem to also have a knack for winding up caring for cats with insane personalities. Cats that have fetishes for being included in personal bathroom time. Morn, when he was younger, would join ANYONE in the shower. He’d hop right up on the edge of the tub and bat at the stream. If you didn’t let him in he’d meow and scratch underneath the door. He was determined that taking a bath was bad and he was going to save you, dearest guest (and mother), from the perils of the water. Pumpkin however likes to dash into the bathroom before I close the door and tries desperately to sit on my lap while I pee. And he purrs. I don’t understand? And I think it’s cute that I shop for fresh produce and fruit and Pumpkin tries to copy me by sniffing it after I’m done sniffing it. And how hardly anyone says anything but everyone looks away smiling when they see him.

Novel Party
2007-11-02 12:35:15
Today is my mom’s birthday and we’ll be spending the day together, but I wanted to tell you guys about the fun I had yesterday. My two roomates, my sister, and my mother all sat together last night and had a writing party. We had snacks and music and we encouraged each other along while we tried to hit the NaNoWriMo word count goal of 1700 words. It made me really happy. I also made a semi-goal to myself to try and get things my mother will use every day as a gift for her birthdays. The last few gifts have been DvDs like Starman, Millions, Out of Africa, and Somewhere In Time. She loves them, sure, but only gets to watch them once and a while. I want to get her things like a new comfortable office chair, a new monitor for her computer. Because she’s a nerd like me and would geek over that stuff. At least I assume so judging by the way she geeked over the ambidextrous mouse I bought her.

Surprise Fairytale
2007-10-31 19:32:28
I just thought of this ridiculous idea. I was thinking that I would write a quick spin on the Sleeping Beauty story and tape it to the bedroom door for when Jei comes home from work. And then I could get all dressed up and lay on the bed with signs like, “Kiss me!” and corny things like that. I could even deck out the bedroom with those fake cobwebs I used the Halloween party.

Happy Halloween!
2007-10-31 17:36:59
Yesterday our neighbor’s little girl, who’s probably about in first grade, was locked out of her apartment after school for apparently not the first time. Our other neighbors filed a report and the police came along with child services and took her away. This is not the first time the police have stopped by her house, nor the first time her mother’s been arrested, who by the way didn’t come home until eight thirty at night. Let me also say that her mother is pyschotic. Among many things, she takes up four of the twelve covered parking spots. Four of them. She parks her van right in the middle so nobody can park beside her around her, whatever. And when there are more houses than spaces, I get really frustrated at her selfishness. It’s not like her van doesn’t fit into one parking spot. One thing I can’t stand is inconsideration. Anyway, when I found out that she’s also neglectful of her children I had pretty much decided I was going to eg

Smells Like Home
2007-11-05 16:18:41
I have a candle burning in my room and the sugar cookie potpourri burning downstairs and the house smells of baked goods. It makes my toes warm. I bought some clay last month and I’m going to make some small charms for maybe cell phone straps or a few necklaces. I’m thinking I’ll definitely make some cinnamon buns, but I’m sure I’ll throw in a few pieces of pumpkin pie, donuts, etc. Any other food suggestions for these little charms? Sorry I haven’t had much to say lately. (It’s November 5th, so we’re watching V for Vendetta)

Food Obsession
2007-11-10 12:45:31
I painted these charms yesterday while standing by the care of Morn and I’m pretty happy with them. We have a pumpkin pie charm and a cinnamon bun charm. I sprinkled crushed cinnamon into the paint I was using when I applied it; it left tiny bumps in some places, but now it actually smells like food. =) I’m pretty okay with how these turned out and I have a slice of pizza, an ice cream cone, a piece of cake, and a donut to be painted as well. YUM. (It’s been brought up to me that I should sell some. Perhaps I will.) Morn’s still urinating blood, but we’ve been giving him medication and he isn’t supposed to show signs of getting better for at least a few days. As long as he continues to pee, even if it’s just a little bit, we’re doing all right.

My Baby Morn
2007-11-09 08:35:16
I’m posting Yelp! review because it will be easier than re-explaning the situation in a different way. Unless you have no regard for your pets well being and price is the only factor driving you in your decision of a veterinarian, I’d advise against choosing this one. I will admit the first experience I had here was wonderful. Dr. Reabe was kind. However, the second vists, which was yesterday, I brought both my cat and my new kitten and received a discount for bringing both of them in. $5 off my total price. Over the phone they told me it would be a $90 visit and when I went to check out the total was $170. Such a leap is unacceptable to me. They should have informed me of the price variations while it was happening. If they had been a bit more organized, maybe they would have. The first thing I said when I entered the examination room is, “I’m a little worried about Morn. When we’re all done with the normal shots and checkup I was wondering if you co

A Moment
2007-11-16 16:29:55
Things have been going pretty well lately. I guess I’m sort of waiting for the axe to fall. Sometimes I think I take myself too seriously, and that Jei helps me understand life’s a joke. Supposed to be fun. I’m so glad I got my act together. I would be nowhere without him. Do you ever have one of those moments where you look back to a crossroads you faced months previously and feel a wash of relief knowing you made the right choice? I’ve spent most of my life looking back, wondering what would have happened had I went down that other road, and sometimes even looking back knowing I made the wrong choice, it’s so nice to be looking back proud.

The Best Meme In A While

Big Boy
2007-11-13 19:17:50
Taken on November 13, 2005 with a Sony Cybershot Look at how tiny he was. And now at three years old he’s an older brother. I haven’t felt like updating lately, and I’m not quite sure if it’s because I don’t seem to have the time or because I just don’t feel I have anything to say. I’ve found myself becoming very attached to Loki, the black long haired Norwegian Forest kitten in the photo with Pumpkin and Morn. I’m a cat lady it would seem. There are four cats running around the house and Loki and Pumpkin won’t leave each other’s side. They’re always playing and tearing around the house. It’s comforting. (When they’re not trying to eat each other’s food.) Morn’s doing much better, but has another week of the medication he’s on. He’s also got to lose a few pounds. I’ve got to gain a few. (Lost some in the two day stretch of Morn-urinating-blood-must-call-vet anxiety.) I also g

Baby It’s Cold Outside

I’ve taken to wearing my hair in curls because somehow that feels more like winter to me. And Pumpkin is the only kitten I’ve ever met who’s not afraid of my hair dryer. He also tends to get this “sleepy” look and sometimes he’ll sit by your feet until you pick him up and hold him so he can fall asleep. Today I will have lunch with an old friend who’s up for Thanksgiving break. It will be fun.

Super Dollfie
2007-11-20 15:59:30
I’ve never been much of a doll person, and with this huge Blythe craze going on, it’s not uncommon for me to see a lot of artistic shots on Flickr of people’s dolls. Well, these are the most beautiful dolls I’ve ever seen- Cole, Kat and I have been staring at the lot of them for days: Volks Super Dollfie. 1. houseofdarkly 2.-5. 7.8.9.12. Sassy Strawberry 6.10.11. Cleric Chan. Offering both boy and girl bodies, once you have the face shape and expression you like, you’re set. The rest is completely customizable. New hair, eyes, clothes, etc. Of course, these dolls cost more than my camera, so I won’t begin collecting. Kat will probably get her liver removed. I offered to help. (Just kidding.)

Food Habits
2007-11-17 17:43:50
I’ve noticed that when it comes to food it’s a habit of mine to enjoy something I like over and over again and then switch to something new, forever rotating. Like, I’ll eat bean and cheese burritos every day for lunch for two months straight, and then I’ll find something new and start eating that. Eventually I’ll get back around to the burritos, though. (Or whatever else it is I find myself forever rotating between.) Does that make any sense? Anyway, it’s strange. Why can’t I just switch from one day to the next eating everything I like? Maybe it has to do with the seasons? last favorites: bean and cheese burritos Morningstar chick’n nuggets + fries + ranch steamed veggies over rice Sara’s cheesy pasta salad current favorites: broccoli and cheddar soup over rice eggs in a basket egg salad sandwiches udon noodle soup salad Oh, I can’t wait until this Thanksgiving folks because I’m already craving the mashed potatoes and

Hello, Mr. Mug
2007-11-27 19:08:01
As kind of a Christmas gift Jei bought me a penguin and a perfect hot cocoa mug that is also a penguin. He is half the size of me. I’m thinking of selling some of my books and manga on ebay because I’m so strapped for cash and I still have to get Pumpkin his booster shots and renew my tags and registration. Money, money, money. I hate it. I would really like to be able to order a pizza right now. That sounds good. I’ve been thinking I wanted to do a video log, but I’m just not sure what to talk about. I’m almost done with my journal from February, so I’m excited about that. EDIT: I removed all the ramble about vlogs and just made one with all the ramble in it. Coming soon!

I feel much better today. Yesterday was beyond awful, and in fact I can barely remember over five hours of my day. But again, today I felt much better so we had our belated feast. (I can’t believe I forgot to take pictures of the mashed potatoes?!) Check out the wonderful pies, thanks to Sara Lee. Yeah. You’re drooling. (Me too.) Because I got sick I didn’t get to go get a tree or even Christmas lights to put up around my room, but soon. Remind me to share that funny mp3 and the gifts Jei bought for me today. (Technically yesterday.) You can see more pictures from our belated Thanksgiving here -> FOOD + PEOPLE Reminder: Sara, call around for cheaper car insurance.
