Desk top meme
2007-10-07 06:59:00
Shanilie has tagged me for a fun little game called the "desk top meme"!!! Here is what you do...* Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun. You can do a screen capture by: Going to your desktop and pressing the Print Scan (PrtScn) key. Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and do a Paste (CTRL + V). If you wish, you can “edit” the image, before saving it.* Post the picture on your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop just below it if you want. You can explain why you preferred such a look or why is it full of icons--things like that.* Tag five people, and ask them to give you a free view of their desktops as well. Here is mine...pretty self explanatory! My cute kiddos:) Who else? This meme was fun because I have always wondered how people took screen shots! I will tag who ever would l

Finally!!
2007-10-05 12:37:00
Last February I wrote about "C"! I watched her son "L" for a few months and she started having some personal problems and wasn't keeping up with her payments. I was willing to help her out because I felt bad...she was young, L's Dad left, blah, blah, blah!!! Eventually she stopped bringing L and I was still owed $150 from her. I was livid that she would do this after I gave her a reduced rate, let her pay me late, etc. So, I began taking steps to getting my money back because I watched L daily for at least 8 hours and deserved to be paid and C needed to take responsibility!!!Here is what I did over SEVERAL months:*Attempted to contact her numerous times by telephone with no call backs*Sent her numerous certified letters stating how much she owed plus the late fees that she was accruing. (the late fee policy is stated in my handbook that I pass out to all parents) All letters went ignored and unclaimed.*I mailed a letter to her house with copies of everything that I had been attemptin

Paintball
2007-10-05 11:46:00
We have a paintball game field about 10 minutes away from us, but I have never been. There are some people in my town who LIVE for this game and go constantly since this is a small town and not much else to do. I will be sure to tell them about this great paintball site that sells all the paintball gear you could imagine. Ultimate Paintball has paintball guns (Tippman, Spyder, etc) and all the necessary accessories! They also have the best prices and FREE SHIPPING!! Not many companies are willing to offer that, so go ahead and check them out.*this is a sponsored post*

Wesley's newest additions
2007-10-04 12:00:00
A while back I mentioned that Wesley was collecting license plates from all the states. So far his Aunt Ashleigh brought him one from Kansas and two of my good blogger friends sent him one from their states!! Thank you so much, Chas and Donna!!!

Garage Lighting
2007-10-04 11:58:00
A few posts back I mentioned how cluttered and unorganized our garage is. Now I have the opportunity to talk to you about the lighting. I am impressed with the car guy garage site and their selection of garage lighting. They have many different sizes and types of fluorescent lights for your garage. We have several light bulbs hanging from the ceiling and they certainly do not cast a lot of light for us to work in. I will show Michael this site and see what he thinks about brightening things up a little.*this is a sponsored post*

Beech Hill Farm
2007-10-04 07:34:00
On Sunday we went to Beech Hill Farm for some ice cream and Fall fun:) They have some "baa baas" as Lani calls all farm animals, corn mazes, ice cream, pumpkins, and a cute gift shop with tons of cute country decor that I love!! Wesley emerging from a bathroom break in the corn maze!Lani was a pill because she wanted to walk in the maze! So glad to finally make it out:)The farm from the corn maze entrance! This is going to be so colorful in a few weeks! Hmm...which one do we want? Michael and Lani checking out the cows! Petting the goats How much does this pumpkin weigh? Wesley guessed "ten hundred":) Each corn maze is themed. You had to find the arctic animals in this one. Lani thought this was so funny! I am surprised she even was letting Michael and I near each other!

Student Loans
2007-10-03 21:55:00
When I was making choices of which college to attend, the cost was a huge selling point. The loan process was so confusing to me and my parents so I am sure that we missed out on some great school loans. If there was a website like Premier Student Loan our search would have been simpler and I would have been able to properly apply for more student loans than I did. They will lead you through through the loan application process and supply you with a list of colleges and universities in the United States.I am also very interested in their student loan consolidation programs since I am still paying on several loans. It would be fabulous to be able to consolidate at a lower rate!*this is a sponsored post*

Digital Cameras
2007-10-03 07:46:00
As a Mom, blogger, scrapbooker, and amateur photographer, I love my digital camera! It goes with me everywhere I go and I feel lost without it. I am in the market for a new camera right now and I know that Ritz Camera has a large selection of digital cameras to choose from.My dream camera is Canon EOS Digital Rebel with all the fixings. Since this is a little out of my budget and camera knowledge right now, I am in the market for this, or maybe this one.I love the versatility of digital images. You can do so many things with your pictures, like enhancements, post on websites, digital scrapbooking, and so many other things. My favorite use for mine is of course being able to erase any dirty faces, yucky zits, and fat rolls using a photo editing program. HEE!!!*this is a sponsored post*

Look what I did tonight:)
2007-10-02 21:26:00
Shannon is a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and offers these classes where you pay a certain amount each month for a stamp set and everything you will need to make a whole bunch of cool projects!! I love this because the only real "work" I have to do is cutting up the stamp set! So, she sent me my package last month and I finally was able to get the cards done!! These two cards were SUPPOSED to be Christmas cards, but I was having a hard time picturing what the cards were supposed to look like according to her directions, so I made these! They look simple now, but I plan on adding some words like "thank you" or "happy birthday"!! I love the idea of these "gift card holders"! Mine are not that beautiful, but I love the concept and the colors!! I have a hard time using black lines than having to color them in. I am not artistic in that sense. These certianly have potential:) I also had a hard time picturing this card from Shannon's directions!! This is no fault of hers, of course, I just n

Michael had a chance to go to a New Engl@nd Patri*ts game a few Sundays ago. A coworker of his has season tickets and brought Michael and his Dad. Here are some pictures of the big game. I won't post the 30 pictures of the cheerleaders that "coworker" took:) Nothing like a beer at 8:30 in the morning! Garage Renewal!
2007-10-02 16:07:00
Our garage is a complete disaster! There is so many random items spread throughout. We have the kids toys, Michael's tools, and his exercise equipment. Oh, and don't forget all the "stuff" stored out there. We have one shelf and a few buckets, so things are always an unorganized mess. I think that Michael would be in heaven if we had these diamond plate cabinets from Car Guy Garage . It would look 100% better!!*this is a sponsored post*

Coupon Chief
2007-10-01 20:36:00
I can't believe that Christmas is almost here! I always start thinking a lot about the holiday season in October because I begin to panic about money. There is one site that can help ease some of the pain of buying those expensive holiday gifts. Coupon Chief offers coupon codes for many major retailers. I could shop for everyone on my list just by using their codes.Michael would love his own computer from Dell since I am always hogging this one. I could even buy Wesley and Lani some toys at Target. Of course, I can't forget about my self! I would love to get that new camera from Best Buy. I could go on and on, but I will let you head on over and check the coupons out for yourself. Each coupon even has an option to email your friends and share the love.

Cyber Baby Shower
2007-10-01 11:59:00
The ladies at 5 Minutes for Mom are having a cyber baby shower as a celebration of their pregnancies. One little baby decided to come early to join in on the celebration! There are a lot of giveaways so be sure to go over and check it out:) The first shower game is to post a picture of you "suffering the unbelievable pain of delivery". This one is hard for me because I had two c-sections and did not get any pictures of me in any pain. Let's see what I can come up with...I know that I am smiling in this picture, but I was trying to be strong for Wesley. I was holding back tears of frustration about having to get ANOTHER c-section! We tried to have a VBAC birth but Lani's heartbeat was just so weak and we had to get her out. So, although this is not a painful "delivery" picture to most, it is to me. Isn't Wesley sweet though? Kissing his sister inside my belly for the last time? Now onto the second game! The ladies want to see your "baby bump"! Here is me at the beach, the night befor

Black Friday
2007-10-01 11:30:00
Thanksgiving is next month and along with that comes the challenge of shopping for Christmas presents on what many call "Black Friday "! There is a site out on the world wide web that will help you find all the best deals BEFORE the fliers come out from most major retailers. For those of you who don't know, blackfriday is the day after Thanksgiving, and is the day when stores offer major discounts to kick off the Christmas shopping season. I stay away from any shopping centers on this day because of all the crowds, but this website could definitely help ease this frustration. You are able to view the fliers ahead of time, save some money, and plan ahead. One of the most popular items to shop for on Black Friday is electronics. You are able to click on Best Buy from this site and it shows you, in list form, all the items that will be available for sale during their black Friday sale. The list includes item name (no pictures) and price. It also includes information about rebates and specia

2007-09-30 17:25:00
A while back I wrote a post about a company who provides professional math tutors for your children ages 4-14. Well, this same company also offers Reading Tutors for the same age and with the same high quality and professional tutors. When Wesley started first grade he was apart of a reading program that helped him to learn reading fundamentals and is now in second grade, reading at a third grade level. I am relieved that he is such a good reader and truly enjoys sitting to read a good book. I also am pleased to know that if he or Lani ever had trouble in school that there are places like Score who provide an innovative tutoring environment for children!*this is a sponsored post*

I had no idea...
2007-09-27 19:48:00
...how serious Polycystic Ovary Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is for some women. This is not something that I have talked about in detail on my blog. Mostly because I really had no idea how many women were affected by this condition!I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was about 24 years old, while visiting a fertility doctor. Michael and I were trying to get pregnant, but I was not having my period and this was making the whole process rather difficult. If you are not menstruating, then you are not ovulating. So, after many, many, many tests, I was given the diagnosis of PCOS, a pamphlet, some medicine to control my insulin and androgen levels, told to stay away from carbs and lose weight. Well, I did start losing weight and I did get pregnant about 4 years later.I am of course so thankful to have Lani, but I am so angry about how I was treated by the doctor. I had no idea what PCOS was and all the symptoms that came with it. Thank God I have a mild case but I do have many of the symptoms such

Our weekend!
2007-10-16 11:25:00
We kept pretty busy this weekend! On Saturday, Wesley had bowling and a birthday party to attend! Later that afternoon we headed out to our favorite walking trail in Manchester. Livingston Park is beautiful this time of year and we had a blast walking on the trail. We forgot the stroller, which turned out to be okay. Lani loved walking with us and because there is so much to explore, you don't realize how slow you are actually going. Daddy did carry her down some hills that were covered with slippery pine needles. Not the best photo color wise, but how could I say no to the sweet little old lady who offered to take our photo. I lightened it up a little, so not too bad after all:)Michael and Wesley being silly! Just a pretty picture of the pond.posing... Lani touching a little "buddy" (buggy). It was actually a salamander that the boys found under a log. ********************************************On Sunday we headed up North to the mountains hoping to do some leaf peeping. It was bri

It's raining...it's pouring!
2007-10-14 19:55:00
Since it has been raining non stop here for DAYS, I brought out the sweet ladybug rain boots that Alex's Mom actually allowed him to wear! HEE! His Dad is thankful that Alex is too young to get beat up for wearing something so girly! Lani loved them and looked ADORABLE! Enjoy some pictures:) (Pay attention only to the boots...not the mess in the background!!)
