Weekend Betting Roundup 2007-10-07 19:24:00 Sunderland did remarkably well at the Emirates Stadium as predicted for the 1st 60 minutes but i didnt expect them to be able to grab 2 goals against the gunners and as it turns out Arsenal run out in the end 3-2 winners. In the other match, i really think Bolton did really well to keep Chelsea at bay most of the time and created some decent chances near Chelsea's goal, it is a pity that they have to lose 1-0. I lost half the bet i put in and that is a consolation somewhat.Another bad weekend of betting saw my aim to hit over the $200 mark before the EPL head for a week's break due to the EURO 2008 Qualifiers get a nasty bang on the head. Looking on the bright side, the project is still not in the red; "touch wood". Still not sure if there will be any bets or tips for the coming Euro 2008 Qualifiers. I will have to look at the matches 1st before deciding. Read more:Weekend
Free Tip of the Day - EPL 2007-10-07 04:28:00 Bolton vs Chelsea1.90 3/4 : 0 2.00Chelsea had a good victory during the midweek champions league game against Valencia which gave them a timely boost for this encounter with Bolton at the Reebok Stadium. But to me it is even more timely for Bolton to get 1 back at home against Chelsea who they had not beaten for as long as i can remember. With Drogba suspended for this one, Michael Essien, Shaun Wright-Phillips injured and Frank Lampard not fully fit. It is the best chance for Bolton to clear their handicap for once.Take Bolton at +3/4Bet: SGD30.92 if Bet at Arsenal wins, SGD32.88 if Bet at Arsenal loses.
Free Tip of the Day - EPL 2007-10-07 04:07:00 Arsenal vs Sunderland1.90 0 : 1 3/4 2.00There is no doubt in people's minds that it is hand downs that Arsenal will take this game but it is a matter of how many goals. Back at the betting booth in singapore during lunch i heard a group of pundits gathering around the odds movement LCD monitor discussing whether to take 4-0, 5-0 or 6-0. I was asking myself whether it is as simple as it is to "put money and take money" in this match. I was thinking how long Sunderland can hold out before Arsenal break the deadlock and i concluded that Sunderland's defence can hold out for about 60 minutes before they lose their concentration. If they can do that, the final score might read 2-0 or 3-0 to Arsenal, but if they falter before that. I might go back to the group of pundits and ask them to treat me to a beer. :)Take Arsenal at -1 3/4Bet: SGD27.41
Free Tip of the Day - EPL 2007-10-06 03:51:00 Aston Villa vs West ham1.925 0 : 1/2 1.975Martin O'Neill has really changed things at Aston Villa after coming in as manager. The young players are doing very well and improving all the time. They are becoming a good team who knows how to defend and attack. They will continuing to stick to their attacking policy at home and should do well against West Ham. That being said, West Ham do have some good players and their away record speaks for themselves. A close but exciting game in the making. 1-0 to the home side.Take Aston Villa at -1/2Bet: SGD29.61 if bet for Man Utd loses, SGD24.28 if bet for Man Utd wins.
Free Tip of the Day - EPL 2007-10-06 02:37:00 Manchester Utd vs Wigan 1.975 0 : 1 3/4 1.925It is difficult to see Man Utd losing this game although they lost Carrick and Hargreaves in the middle of the park. It is likely Ferguson will deploy Giggs in with Scholes in centre midfield with Ronaldo and Nani on the left and right midfield respectively. Man Utd are playing a strange game this season not as if they planned for it but defensively they are a tough nut to crack. It has been a consecutive 5 clean sheets in the premiership although goals has been a rare commodity for them too. I believe many among us will not doubt Man Utd will win this encounter but the problem is can they win by more than 2 goals. To me, it is a matter of time before Man Utd's offence really kick into gear. If they can grab a goal in the 1st half, i would reckon this match will be what the "deluge" Ferguson is talking about will come.Take Man Utd at -1 3/4Bet: SGD28.81

Free Tip of the Day - Champions League 2007-10-02 23:37:00 Valencia vs Chelsea 1.960 0:1/4 1.970 Valencia came through a tough game away to Schalke, winning the game 1-0. The 1st game in the Champions
league is alway the hardest and they crossed that mental barrier. The same cannot be said about Chelsea after that disappointing draw at Stamford Bridge with Rosenborg, that game so happened to be Mourinho's last game at helm. With Lampard still out, Terry might play in this one with a protective mask. I still feel that the players at Chelsea may not be really mentally prepared to compete at Estadio Mestalla against a well organised Valencia team thinking of revenge for last season exit from the Champions League
by none other than Chelsea. They say players don't change but tactics change. But do they mean the Coach(Avram Grant)'s tactics or the owner(Abramovich)'s tactics? Take Valencia at -1/4Bet: SGD24.01 Read more:Champions League
Score Card Update - Champions League 2007-10-02 20:18:00 Messi has done it again. After a rather subdued performance by Barcelona in the first half where Stuttgart dominated most of the proceedings, Messi once again got himself on the scoresheet with Puyol getting a soft first. Henry missed a sitter in the closing moments but its a 2-0 victory for Barcelona and we won! Read more:League

Free Tip of the Day - Champions League 2007-10-02 09:03:00 Stuttgart vs Barcelona2.025 3/4 : 0 1.875There are so many matches today that i wanted to have a wager but i looked through them and decided on Thiery Henry.. ermm... i meant Barcelona. They are one of the 2 teams who are away and the home team given a advantage in terms of 3/4 handicap. The other team is of course Henry previous club, Arsenal. Based on individual talent alone, it is hand down who will take this encounter. The only worry i have is the kind of resistance Stuttgart can offer at home. Henry just had his 1st hattrick in a Barca shirt, let us hope that he wears the same pair of boots.Take Barcelona at -3/4Bet: SGD21.27 Read more:League

Monthly Progress Report - Sept 2007 2007-09-30 23:55:00 It is the 1st full month and i have tabulated this month's progress into a simple graphical presentation. I hit below the budget nearing the end of the month but managed to regain my footing thanks to the latest weekend EPL betting. I am hoping to hit the $200 mark by mid of October. Help me cross fingers on that :) Read more:Monthly
Weekend Roundup - EPL 2007-09-30 19:54:00 It has been a good weekend of betting after some disasterous judgement on the matches by me last week. With Man City winning their game impressively at home against Newcastle, they moved to third just behind Man Utd. It is kind of strange to see 2 Manchester(s) at the submit of the table but still it is too early to say whether Man City can sustain that level of performance throughout the long season. Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd all scraped through their away matches with 1-0 wins while Chelsea slipped further down the table with a listless 0-0 draw with Fulham made worse by John Terry's injury. The most outstanding match that catches my eyes is the Portsmouth's game against Reading which ended 7-4 to the hosts. Had Nick Shorey not missed the penalty who knows how the game might turned out. There was no defence to talk about in such a game but who cares, at least i know the fans don't mind :) Read more:Weekend
Free Tip of the Day - EPL 2007-09-30 04:52:00 Everton vs Middlesbrough1.85 0 : 1/2 2.05It is the only match in the EPL today and i have to say just go for the home side. Nothing is worse when a ex club chairman commented that a player is nearing his retirement after switching away from his club, that is what Boro's chairman - Steve Gibson said about Yakubu. These comments will just fire this player up and the chairman will regret what he said after tonight's match. Everton to win this with Yakubu coming up with a Star performance.Take Everton at -1/2Bet: SGD18.97
Score Card Update 2007-09-29 13:36:00 I made 3 bets today but in the end only the first match made me money. The other 2 matches got me back my bet amount since i break with the handicap given. Well to me that is considered a good betting day :). I updated the Fallback table and Season table according. Tomorrow will be a better day! The one match in the EPL that made headlines today must be the portsmouth game where 11 goals were shared among the 2 teams, more on that in the morning. Read more:Score

Month End EPL Special - Easy as 3 2007-09-27 21:39:00 Birmingham vs Man Utd1.940 1:0 2.010Other than the Carling Cup defeat which Man Utd lost 2-0, Man Utd had gone on a 5 games winning streak which 4 matches winning by a scoreline of, can you believe?, 1-0. The latest win against Chelsea saw them finally breaking the 1-0s and won the game by 2-0 thanks to a late Saha's penalty. But what is notable with United this season is their defense, which had really shut oppositions down with great gutso and their work rate. With Tevez relieved at getting his 1st goal in a United shirt, i expect to see his name more often now on the score sheet. With Saha also nearing full fitness, this match could be the game to see the Red Devils getting their 1st 3-0 win of the season.Take Man Utd -1Bet: The bet amount for this game will depend on the outcome of the 1st 2 matches. Month End EPL Special - Easy as 2 2007-09-27 21:14:00 Derby vs Bolton2.010 0:0 1.940It is the battle of the bottom 2 teams in the premiership. A dismay goal tally of 0 goals scored, 16 goals conceded out of 4 away games played confirmed Derby to be the number 1 candidate to be relegated at the end of the season. But they are playing better at their home ground which means this match with Bolton will be a tight affair. Bolton themselves had not won away yet and if they cannot grind out a away win at 20th place Derby i do not fancy them to appear in the premiership next season. Anelka might be there to slot in the winner. 1-0 to Bolton.Take Bolton at level ball.Bet: The bet amount will depend on the 1st game between Man City vs Newcastle. Month End EPL Special - Easy as 1 2007-09-27 19:58:00 Man City vs Newcastle1.960 0:1/4 1.990 It seems Man City are actually improving under new boss Sven-Goran Eriksson. He has actually brought in some really talented players who can make a difference for the team. Players like Elano, Geovanni and Martin Petrov have all made a significant impact to the games that they played in this season. With Newcastle's striking problem, namely injured Owen, Viduka and Ameobi, Obafemi Martins will be the only one who might be capable of of getting that odd goal. With Man City at home, i see them nicking this one by 2-1.Take Man City at -1/4Bet: SGD22.51 Read more:Special

Each game i bet on will be at a different timing. 1st bet will be on Man City vs Newcastle(1945hrs), 2nd bet will on Derby vs Bolton(2200hrs) and 3rd will be on Birmingham vs Man Utd(0015hrs, sunday). Red Devils Stung twice by the "Mosquito" 2007-09-26 20:52:00 Rooney didnt get to play. Actually i should have expected Ferguson to stick to fielding his youngsters for this game but i was betting on him to give Rooney a chance at least in the second half to gain some match fitness but apparently that did not materialise. The other 3 players among the BIG FOUR i named did play but well what is there to say about them, sadly none. In the end, 2 goals by Michael Mifsud nicknamed "The Mosquito
" in each half dumped the Red Devils out of the competition.Bet lost: SGD18.76
Free Tip of the Day - Carling Cup 2007-09-26 02:30:00 Man Utd vs Coventry City 1.920 0:1 1/2 2.000It will be interesting to see how Ferguson will pick his team for this game. Rooney continued his nagging and pleading with Fergie to let him play in this one. He might just oblige and hand Rooney the captain's armband as well. It may only be a Carling
Cup 3rd round which traditionally is 4th on Ferguson's priority list but with the kind of players i reckon will be on his 1st team tonight might make this matchup to be a very one-sided affair. The BIG FOUR i picked should all have a good chance to get themselves on the scoresheet tonight. Ian Dowie is going to make a few changes to the backline which is by far shaky in the month of September conceding a total of 9 goals in 4 matches. If Man Utd manage to grab a early goal the floodgates might just open up for them.Take Man Utd at -1 1/2Bet: SGD18.76 Read more:Carling Cup
Score Card - Carling Cup 2007-09-25 20:41:00 The Shrimps were cut open by the Blades and there was no doubts yesterday who had premiership status last season. Second half double by Luton Shelton and debut strike by Lee Hendrie ensured that the Shrimps did not look likely to repeat their giant-killing feat again.Bet: SGD16.51Winnings: SGD16.51 X 1.95 = SGD32.19 Read more:Score

Free Tip of the Day - Carling Cup 2007-09-25 09:49:00 Sheffield Utd vs Morecambe 1.95 0 : 1 1/4 1.95 Expect Bryan Robson to pick a 1st eleven team against a team which has success against Teams above it(they have beaten Wolves and Preston). But the question is will the Shrimps be able to keep up their over-performing by their standards and perhaps the answer is no. Robson's men may have problems defensively especially in away games but when they are at home it is a totally different story. I see Utd taking the game by 2-3 goals. Weekend EPL Betting Roundup 2007-09-23 20:18:00 It has not been a good week since we have fallen back abit on our progress. Reading was lucky to escape with all 3 points whereas Newcastle's strikers really did very well to earn themselves a 3-1 victory over West Ham and as usual Owen limped off again injured. Finally Tevez got his 1st goal of the season and that Man Utd 2-0 proves to be the consolation after some poor judgement on my part. Hopefully we can get back on track by next week with a string of winning bets. :) Read more:Weekend
Free Tip of the day - EPL 2007-09-22 21:51:00 Man Utd vs Chelsea2.00 0 : 1/2 1.90Chelsea's dressing room is in chaos after Mourinho's departure. Morale in Chelsea's camp can be said to be an all time low and i mean LOW as in rock bottom. The players are still reeling from their beloved coach's unreasonable sacking. Key players are affected. John Terry tried to gather his team mates to ask them to focus on the match with Man Utd but hey who is listening? Man Utd's boss has openly said that Saha will be the key to their title hopes this season and i totally agree with him. Saha is strong, good in the air and has good pace, perfect for the target man the Red Devils are lacking in their attack. It remains to be seen how Fergie will play this trump card. Traditionally, it will be close to call when these 2 teams meet up but with the "Special One" gone and all that has happened at Chelsea the advantage is clearly with Man Utd. Take Man Utd at -1/2.Bet: The bet amount will depends on the outcome of the bet on West Ham. If that bet
Free Tip of the Day - EPL 2007-09-22 20:03:00 Newcastle vs West ham1.825 0 : 1/4 2.075Michael Owen's fitness has come into question again and he could be on his way to have another sugery for his hernia after today's game against West Ham. Big Sam was quick to play down the seriousness of Owen's latest injury setback but one cannot help but feel that it will affect the team somehow in terms of attack. Villa has not concede a away goal yet, i expect that to continue at least for this match. Take West Ham +1/4Bet: SGD23.47

Types of Staking Plans 2007-10-16 02:38:00 There exists many different kind of staking methods with rather elaborate names so to speak. Basically, they all follow a staking method which can be divided into 4 catagories.1) fixed staking2) variable staking3) percentage staking4) progressive stakingFor fixed, or level, staking, every bet placed is assigned the same stake size, regardless of the betting odds. Level staking forms the benchmark staking strategy against which all others should be compared for profitability and risk evaluation. Many punters see weaknesses with level staking and prefer to vary the size of their bets according to various criteria, including their strength and their odds. A bettor, for example, may choose to standardise the amount he wins for every successful bet. Where all the odds are the same, this will amount to level staking. Where the odds differ, the stake sizes will vary. This strategy might suitably be called the fixed profits staking plan.Percentage (bank) staking, like level staking, standardis Read more:Staking
Free Tip of the Day - Euro 2008 2007-10-15 21:07:00 Holland vs Slovenia2.040 0:2 1/4 1.910 It is puzzling how a Holland team boosting so many top class players always come up short during the big tournaments. The group they are in is by far the easiest of all the groups and yet they are having problems stepping their authority in most of the games they have played so far. A lot has to do with racism within the team itself and the collective spirit to play for one another. But the exclusion of Ryan Babel from the starting lineup by Van Basten might have a positive effect on the entire team. This home game for Holland is a must win for Van Basten's team and keep their place ahead of Bulgaria.Take Holland at -2 1/4Bet: SGD26.92 if bet on Portugal wins, SGD28.62 if bet on Portugal loses.
Free Tip of the Day -Euro 2008 2007-10-15 19:51:00 Kazakhstan vs Portugal1.880 2:0 2.070It is coming to a point in the Euro 2008 qualifiers where the big guns and big names will show their calibre. The qualifiers will be coming to an end this coming November with 2-3 matches left for most countries in the running for a spot in the finals of Euro 2008. Portugal will want to make sure they do not have a mountain to climb when Finland come visit for their last match. The mathamatics for this group is simple. The Poles need jus 3 more points to confirm their place in the finals. The Fins will have to win their remaining matches, that including the game against Portugal. Serbia still have a outside chance if they win all their remaining 3 matches. They will have to hope Portugal and Finland do slip up. I expect Portugal to go all out to win this game, expect Portugal to setup stall in Kazakhstan's half and attack from the 1st whistle. Take Portugal at -2 Bet: SGD 23.85
Free Tip Of the Day - Euro 2008 2007-10-12 09:49:00 Poland vs Kazakhstan1.880 0:2 2.070Portugal will be hoping Poland stumble in this fixture against Kazakhstan. Poland managed to beat Kazakhstan by only a goal. They are almost certain of getting in Euro 2008 Finals should they beat their opponents in this fixture. The Poles have not performed well for the recent qualifiers actually but i expect them to get back to winning form convincingly against their weaker opposition.Take Poland at -2Bet: SGD23.85 if bet on England wins, SGD25.36 if England bet loses.
