Bryan and Jen
2008-02-29 01:14:50
Bryan and Jen, and their kids - yes, including their four-legged kids - are a "pretty family." You know the type. You see them in TV commercials and print ads. Everyone in the family is photogenic, and when you see them you just want to know them. They are as nice as they look, and just as fun!BubbleShare: Share photos - green toy newsKeep up with me... Mike and Lillian
2008-02-24 10:23:35
Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing a really lovely couple in honor of their son's first birthday. Mike is the nicest guy in the world, and talk about intelligent. This is definitely the guy you want with you if you're lost on an island! Lillian is a photographer's dream and needed very little posing guidance. She has a beautiful smile, and was a natural in front of the camera. And their son - wow. What a doll! The pictures came out great, and it was all fun and no work for me.Thank you, Mike and Lillian!Keep up with me... Subscribe to my feed.

It's Apple Blossom Time
2008-02-22 13:21:38
I was looking at the map for the blossom trail this morning, preparing for a trip there in the very near future, and it dawned on me that I have some beautiful apple blossoms popping up in my own backyard. AND it's raining today, which makes for a beautiful natural "soft box" lighting effect.I grabbed my camera and this is what I got. I love it, and I hope you do, too :-DKeep up with me... Randy Pausch - The Last Lecture
2008-02-20 12:44:34
One of my flaws and one of my strengths is impatience (flaw) and patience (strength). My impatience manifests pretty consistently with "forwards" that I receive via email. If it's printed and I see it's long, I usually immediately delete it. If it's video and the feed is long - same thing. Click. Gone. The first part of this video (which, admittedly, is long) caught my attention, and I was locked on it.Death. Mortality. Spirituality. Sacrifice. Peace.Love.Dr. Randy Pausch reprises his "Last Lecture" on the Oprah show. The segment is hosted by Oprah and Dr. Oz. This video has been shared and viewed over a million times.Do yourself a huge favor and watch, at the very least, Randy Pausch's lecture. H

Please Help The Animals
2008-02-17 22:04:08
I heard a horrific story the other day. (Read the AP story HERE)While it is a nightmare for some people who have lost their homes to foreclosure of late, it is life and death for their pets. People are leaving their houses and having to move into rentals, and their pets are not wanted. You know and I know what this means. The animals are being abandoned by the droves. The shelters are now more horribly burdened than ever before, and they are being forced to put down (kill) the animals because of a lack of space. Even when they warn people that there is a high likelihood their animals will be put to sleep, the people are still leaving them there because they don't have much other choice.Worse than that, there are widespread occurrences of less human types just moving out and simply aban

Pearl Street Beach - Laguna Beach
2008-02-17 20:37:08
I had to drop off a couple pictures at a gallery yesterday, so I decided to cruise up PCH and explore some new areas by turning into any random street I haven't been down before. After turning down one street, I continued on until I found a parking place, and ended up on Pearl Street in Laguna Beach . Awesome beach! There was a huge rock formation with a pass-thru in the center. The other side of the formation was gorgeous, and the ocean was rough, which made for beautiful sea spray. I was shooting with two different kinds of film cameras yesterday, so I don't have the majority of my pictures yet, but I did take some with my trusty pocket digital camera. As I was standing there, once again a familiar thought came to mind: I live in the most exquisitely beautiful place in the world. Here are

Random Thoughts & A Couple New Pics
2008-02-15 09:37:15
Today's FRIDAY! I adore this day. I have some plans for this afternoon, but I need to get some stuff done first, so here are some random thoughts for today - oh, and a couple of new pictures.* I have a clear-cut winner new TV show for this year: Cashmere Mafia. This show is great! I can't even bring myself to watch Lipstick Jungle, which is the same basic show premise. CM is so good that there's no need.* Why do a lot of people (yours truly, included) start off a moderate-to-long story with "So," (So, I was sitting... -- So, I went to...) I catch myself all the time.* A lot of people are what I call "lazy readers." They read the beginning, a bit of the center, and some of the end. This, sometimes, causes problems because you can miss an important and message-changing detail.

I'VE BEEN M.I.A. LATELY...
2008-03-28 13:32:26
Sorry for being missing in action lately. It's been busy, busy, busy, but I do need to get caught up on my comings and goings, AND post new pictures! Here's what I've been up to...* I've been working on a few commissioned pieces lately, which I'll photograph and upload once they're ready for delivery.* Also, I spent a little time in L.A. a week ago, and got some pretty cool grab shots (grab shots = pretty much just taken in extreme haste, anywhere I could "grab" them). I'll be going back to L.A. over the coming few weeks and I'm hoping to get some amazing shots. Not that hard in L.A. where there's so much to see and photograph.* I had my Blossom Trail photos posted on the Fresno County Tourism website!* Our art show was a great success and the owner invited us back! We'll be setting

Birthday's Looking Good For This Year!
2008-04-21 16:58:11
One of my flaws is that I am hyper-sensitive on my birthday. Christmas is awesome, anniversaries are great, but there's just something about my birthday that makes me feel super special. Unfortunately, sometimes the whole world is just not on board for my special day, and I've had some pretty downer birthdays where it just didn't seem like anyone really cared. I know everyone has their own lives to live, but I guess I see my birthday as a window to my world. If no one seems to care, then to me it's like...no one cares. Yes, I know that's completely over-reactive, and usually I blow off the antics (or non-antics) of the absolutely adored and loved, if not flaky, stars in my universe, but is it in the rulebook that I can't be critical on MY day?Well, there's really no choice in the matter -

Surf City, USA
2008-04-22 20:24:41
Sunday was a nice sunny day, so H suggested we take a short cruise up to Huntington Beach, also officially known as the original Surf City, USA.We had a great time checking out all the cool kites, surfers, live music, and a art/craft fair going on. I wanted to get some more TTV shots for a book I'm creating, so it was a win/win!Keep up with me... Subscribe to my feed.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

I just got home from seeing "Forgetting Sarah Marshall " - OMG, it was so funny! If you liked "Superbad" then you'll definitely like this one. I drank a (free!) soda, and two bottles of water, and REFUSED to get up from my seat to, um...reverse the process, shall we say? I didn't want to miss a minute of the movie.Go see it. Go now. Don't drink a lot.Keep up with me... Subscribe to my feed.

ARTIST EYE LAGUNA GALLERY
2008-05-02 11:58:13
I'm proud and thrilled to be a part of a new gallery in Laguna Beach called Artist Eye Laguna Gallery. We have a wonderful location at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Cress, in Laguna Beach. There are 20 very talented artists participating, and it's an honor to have my work included. They are also some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure to know.Last night was our "soft" opening, and it was a great success. The Laguna Art Walk is held the first Thursday of every month, and we were able to have the gallery ready in time to participate. Our official opening will be June 5th, through that weekend, so if you're in the area, please do drop in.Here are some shots from last night.Keep up with me... Subscribe to my feed.

Celebrating My Mom!
2008-05-10 10:03:19
Good morning, and happy day before Mother's Day to you and your moms! In a few minutes I'll be jumping in the shower, loading up my car with the plants I bought yesterday, and I'm off on a road trip to spend Mother's Day with my mom. This year for her gift I'm planting a new garden in her little backyard. She's been a little under-the-weather this year, so I think she needs a little something to keep her busy and give her some peace. What better to do that than a garden? Here's the plan; Two large night blooming jasmine plants against her back fence, for privacy and to perfume the evening breeze that comes into her bedroom window. Star jasmine for fragrant days. A rainbow of geraniums and a heliotrope plant to give glorious color. It's a small little backyard, so this will be plenty for her t
