Missing Money

If you haven’t searched for your forgotten millions yet, what are you waiting for? Missing Money .com offers a free search and will even submit your claim to the state. I’m assuming the state will then send you endless amounts of paperwork and hoops to jump through but if it’s a significant amount of money it may be worth the hassle. I searched my name and found about eight separate piles of money just waiting for me. I used to move around quite a bit and in my less responsible days walked out on more then one job. If I was a betting woman, I would guess they are utility deposits and maybe a paycheck or two. I sent a claim for a couple of them so we will see. Like most Saturday nights we decided to grab a bite to eat while we were out. Tonight we chose Jack In The Box. Neither of us had eaten all day so we were starving. Excited about our Ciabatta burgers we rushed inside with smiles and open wallets ready to order from our friendly Jack employee. But to our surprise there were no friendly Jack employees ready to take orders. Instead we were greeted by a touch screen kiosk witch read : Place Your Order Here. My husband and I gave each other confused glances and then directed our attention to the employees gathering food. They continued gathering without missing a beat. I slowly approached the touch screen to place our order and then noticed the sign “cash only”. Of course, I had no cash. Husband had no cash. Because of the lack of employees at work I had to switch my schedule around, which threw off my whole day. But, it’s Friday so I’m over it…. yeah for the weekend! My place of work employs five people. Three people quit today. This is a pretty big problem that I find strangely amusing. Day 4 - October 4 Income In : $28.13 Income Out : $44.50 Monthly Total : + $301.16 $30.98 of today’s money out was the electric bill, the rest was wasted money. $5.68 was spent this evening after work. It was a long day, I was hungry and couldn’t resist buying a big California burrito and soda. I did the usual clicking for extra money today. I also went to work an hour early. Share This

It was very warm today. I walked to the store around ten am and the sun was blazing down. I thought my face was going to burst into flames. It’s October … I want to put on jeans and a hoodie and complain about how cold it is! I was thrilled when I opened my mailbox this afternoon and found a full size bottle of Dawn Direct Foam from Home Made Simple. I have no idea why it was sent to me but I’m certainly not complaining. I also received a $10.00 check from MySurvey. One from Stanford, one from Baker Street. I ended up spending all of the Amazon Gift Cards I had been saving, about $30 worth, today to buy a birthday gift. What do you think, will a 12 year old think this is fabulous? I hope so. He asked for Guitar Hero 2 but I saw that 3 was getting ready to come out so I went ahead and bought that one instead. We did half of our shopping tonight because we were downtown but I hate shopping on Sundays. No matter what time you go, it’s packed with people whipping their carts around the corner ready to hit the back of your legs or run over your feet. Hate it. Our total bill before coupons and Ralphs Club was 47.70. We paid $23.07. My total coupon items : $20.49 I paid : $9.49 Savings of : $11.00 Best coupon deals I found today : Juicy Juice Harvest Surprise - .50 Free Healthy Ones lunch meat G.U.M toothbrush - .49 I also found a couple of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls marked down to .25 each. In the October issue of Woman’s Day magazine there was a great article about identity theft. The article explained how criminals go online and change your address to divert your mail to their address. Once they receive one of the many credit card offers you probably get, they fill it out and have an early Christmas at your expense. It is very easy to change any address but I’m not sure how easy it would be to keep the mail coming for an extended amount of time. I recently moved and changed my address online, the post office sends a conformation letter to your new mailbox and old mailbox so as long as you have a locked mailbox, I can’t imagine that you wouldn’t be able to catch this before it got out of hand. Either way, here are a couple tips to prevent this and other identity thefts from happening. Discontinue paper billing and pay your bills online.
