Saint Francis Day
2007-10-04 11:52:54
Saint Francis of Assisi 1181-1226 Prayer of St. Francis Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life. Amen.

Music You Should Be Listening to: THE CHOIR
2007-10-04 08:47:01
Welcome to the first ever “music you should be listening to post”. This one is a doozy. THE CHOIR: 1985-present If you haven’t heard of them you may be aware of some of the projects they have worked on. Drummer and lead singer were both involved and creators of City on a Hill projects. They are also in the Lost dogs. The choir is one of the greatest and long standing Christian bands of all time. They were huge back in the 80’s and they even to this day keep reinventing themselves. They are one of the most influential unsung heroes in christian rock. They have a U2 kinda feel and came out around the same time. Airy guitars with killer delay, amazing bass lines, a drummer that tells a story with his instrument, and a guy who plays a midi control woodwind. I have seen them in concert about 5 times and I consider them 1 of the top 2 bands of all time. If you haven’t checked them out there are many CD’s to choose from and they are all amazing. Here they

They Are Back
2007-10-03 12:55:57
2 of Christian music’s classic bands are back. (and by classic I mean…I loved them and they haven’t been in the forefront in forever) I hope you guys like them. It is a little different. Danielson Family one of my favorite bands of all time. This is a love or hate them kinda band and I honestly dont know anybody besides me who likes them so I hope you get converted. They have a very unique style. It actually is a family and they are all about Christ. the site. the blog. Check out the new video below Soul Junk Another killer band I was into in the early 90’s. They were kinda cutting edge experimental punk. They did some crazy stuff with text from bible in music. check i out below. The site. Exodus 6

What the wednesday
2007-10-02 22:37:27
This is a new weekly section. expect oddball stuff, killer resources, sweet blogs, interesting news. Let the fun begin. Jon over at Lifemusicministry has started a series on worship leading essentials UnChristian - new book just came out on monday. looks like a must read Phil Keaggy makes #25 most underrated guitarists. I personally would name him #2 behind Prince Mudpuppy announces name your own price on new radiohead CD. cool news…the worship master list available on this site (which i hope to have updated next week) has had 1700 views/downloads make sure you check out the updated version next week. It includes all the songs we are doing, the key, and what CD they are from Youversion - Beta is open. It is an online bible and community . Check out what it can do their blog. A late addition to this is something found in the liner notes of the new crowder CD…call it an easter egg…click here

Ragamuffin Ink’d
2007-10-02 22:09:32
I just got watching the “godfather of worship confessionals” Carlos on LA Ink.I could not believe I had to wait to the end of the show to see his story. However even with the wait I was blown away with it. How many times have we seen a Christian profess their beliefs on tv and creative editing either deletes half of it or puts a wack twist on it. Not this time. Christ was mentioned and it could not have gone any better. Los rocks and it was a very cool tat as well. Did you watch?

Top 5 Cd’s of the Week 10/02/07

Paul Baloche - Our God Saves ~ I’m still listening to my promo copy and I’ve gotta tell ya…this CD is brilliant. 3. Michael Neale - No Greater Audience ~ No surprise here…I still can’t stop listeing to this one. It is one of the top 5 worship CD’s I have ever heard. 4.  Shane & Shane - Pages ~ killer new CD and review is coming 5. David Crowder - Remedy Review
2007-10-01 12:06:52
I know I said Fridays will be my review day, but since this is my blog… David Crowder Band - Remedy I have seen a ton of reviews on this CD now. Some Good..Some not. Mine came a little later then expected because I pre-ordered it. I did however get a nifty remedy totebag and stickers that you might not have. So all in all worth it. One of the most talked things is..Good CD, but it’s not A collision. Well that is a justified statement, but one for me that needs a little tag at the end of it. None of crowders CD’s are the same. Thats what I love about them. Crowder keeps reinventing himself and breaking new ground. This CD does just that. I think I am different from your standard Crowder-head in that My favorite CD is sunsets & sushi. So I might be coming at this with a different perspective. A collision was brilliant and one of the best they have done, but I think this CD deserves mucho kudos as well. Lets go down the list. .1 glory of it all - We heard it fi

2007-10-01 10:02:21
Great set this week. This was a really cool service because in the middle of it we had a renewing of vows ceremony for an awesome couple in our church. This is a couple who not only got to renew their vows but got to dedicate their marriage to the King. Gotta love that! So we opened this week with All creatures of Our God and King. This has to be one of my top 5 favorite hymns. I love it. We did it crowder style of course. Then we had prayers and went into our gloria in a lower key to be a ble to transition better into the raucous Dancing Generation. This song gets the church pumped up and people hopping around. It is very cool to see people get into God like that. After that we did some changes to the original list going into Friend of God and Holy God (doerksen). Holy God to me is one of the top worship songs out there. It comes from Doerksens last CD and it hits me every time. Then You Amaze me by Michael Neale. Another top 5 for me. His stuff is brilliant and that song is so powe

So Last week there was a little contrversy. Who started the term textfessional? some say it was Jeremy..othes say connor…and some still say I did. I was thinking about it and decided I didnt worry about it much but I don’t want to be known as a non-innovator. So without further ado….here is the first ever STICK-FESSIONAL. Crude as it may be…it’s never been done…somethings take time SIDE NOTE: first panel says “hmm where is everybody…They all seemed to come late..because the place kept filling up even after first few songs. It was a tough morning with screaming kids etc. and it was another week I had to be in the church. This weeks struggle with just having theability to focus on something other than life. It has been 10 years with this wonderful woman as of yesterday. Kelly is my life and I have been honored and more than blessed having her as my wife. I tell her all the time that I thank God I didn’t get stuck with an ugly wife because There isnt a time when I am not thinking about how great it is just to look at her. These last 10 years have been amazing. We have been through some good times and tough  times and God is always faithful. She is an amazing mom, friend, wife and beauty. IONA: 1988-present Iona is a celtic band straight of of Ireland. They didn’t really have much notoriety untilThe time when Celtic music started becoming mainstream thanks to things like Braveheart and Enya. What sets Iona apart from the likes of Enya, The Coors, Clanaad? This band is a Christian band. They have amazing lyrics and love the Lord. They have the traditional Celtic style music with the pipes and hand drums, but they add a new flair to it. Progressive Rock. Think the technicality of Dream Theater then mix in the vocals of a more powerful Enya and throw in a some Out of the Grey. I Got to see this band only once and it stands out as one of the top 5 shows I have ever been to. Go listen and then buy everything. This band is brilliant. The Vocals are amazing. Music You SHould Be Listening to: Fleming and John
2007-10-18 06:55:07
Fleming and John: 1994-present Fleming and John is a musical husband and wife team, Fleming McWilliams and John Mark Painter, currently living in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. They have 2 CD’s out and have finally announced on their Myspace that they are working on a new Cd. Considering the last one was in 1998 I cant wait. In the mean time they have worked with many top artists like ben folds doing recording producing and playing on others CD’s. John has also done some movie soundtracks. For a while they got almost famous. They even got on Conan O brian… Fleming has one of the best female voices in the industry and they sadly didnt get much credit. On their second CD John plays something like 60 instruments. They are amazing.I saw them live at Cornerstone festival in IL i think in 1993. What an amazing show. Here voice is captivating. It is operatic yet rocky. they have straight rock feel and very experimental on top. Discography Delusions of Grandeur, 1994 debut
