It's a revolutionary no-scar surgery technique! 2007-11-30 10:45:00 You know how I often post about the cute things that the girls say? Well, Phillip's getting in on the action now too.Since he's at the doctor right now getting his cast off from his surgery, I thought I'd share this little conversation that took place in the van a few days ago.... Phillip: (yelling over the singing coming from the back seat and holding up his cast) I can't wait to get this thing off in a couple of days. Me: You're telling me. I'm interested to see what the scar will look like too. Phillip: Oh, you think it'll leave a scar? Me: Ummmm......yes, you'll have a scar. Phillip: (a few minutes later) So you really think I'll have a scar? Me: Yes Honey, I'm pretty sure.I love that guy. I'm sure he was just trying to make me laugh and didn't really think he wouldn't have a scar (Right, Honey?!?).
Kissed and Made Up 2007-11-29 10:18:00 So remember last week when I threw the dvr out the window? Well, we have kissed and made up....I'm back in love. When you have to be awake to catch puke every ten minutes for four hours in the wee hours of the morning (times two out of three girls = two nights in a row!), the dvr is my best friend. No infomercial watching here. I caught up on Dancing with the Stars. I'm so sad that Jenny didn't make it to the finals, but LOVE that Helio won. How cute is he?!?Then I caught up on ER, Survivor, and Friday Night Lights too. Mara and I were watching Kid Nation last night in between the puke catching, and I think I have a future reality tv addict on my hands...guess she gets that honestly though.Ok, I'd better get back to the fourteen loads of puke infested laundry waiting on me! Little Miss Matched 2007-12-10 21:42:00 How cute are these socks?! It's from a company called Little Miss
Matched. I love it! Oh, and yes, they are not sold in pairs but rather in packs of three.Dear Santa, my stocking sure could use a couple 'pairs' of these!
Nativity Cuteness 2007-12-10 08:09:00 The girls helped me put up our nativity scene the other night. Their excitement was awesome! When we were done, Emily was looking at it with a very confused look on her face. She looked at me and said, "But where's Noah?" I said, "He's in the playroom with his ark.", but then had a good laugh.*************************************Yesterday at church I was teaching about 25 kids under the age of 4 about the Christmas story. We were talking about the manger. I told them that animals eat food out of a manger. But since Mary and Joseph didn't have a bed for Baby Jesus, they used the manger for his bed. I had a box and put some hay in it and then gently laid a baby doll into it. One of the little boys had a really scared look on his face and said, "Oh no, are the animals going to eat Baby Jesus?" I assured him that the animals didn't eat Baby Jesus, but got another good laugh! Read more:Nativity

It's a war of words... 2007-12-07 10:42:00 So my husband has posted a rebuttal to the 'revolutionary no scar surgery technique'.Go check it out here. Then come back and tell me if you laughed.
Mara's Little Doll 2007-12-06 16:00:00 Mara has always loved 'helping' to take care of Becca. This is her latest new game to play...She's been dressing Becca up all week. I never know what she'll have on...dresses, scarves, crowns, even shoes. And I'm not sure what's cuter, seeing Mara get all of this stuff on her, or seeing how proud Becca is when we all tell her how gorgeous she is!
Wordless Wednesday 2007-12-05 07:28:00 Their hair is a MESS in this picture, and it drives me crazy (if you know me, you know just how crazy!)...but I love how Becca is starting to imitate everything the bigger girls are doing lately. For more Wordless Wednesday

for me Wednesday
has a theme....What Do I Fix? Edition. Here's the explanation from Shannon's site.... "It's 5:15 pm, the kids are hungry, you have a headache, hubby is almost home, and the pantry has three things in it. What is your BEST last-minute meal recipe? Share with everybody this week. We'll call it Works-For-Me Wednesday: The What-Do-I-Fix? Edition. Or we could just simplify and call it WFMWTWDIFE. Yeah. That's much simpler." So some people say that you are what you eat. If that were true, then I'd be fast, cheap, and easy! Last minute meal recipes are all that I fix.My favorite lately is spaghetti (just ground beef, Ragu sauce, and noodles). The girls really like it when I use different types of noodles each time I make it too....penne, bowtie, shells, etc.Ok, Ok, so the truth is that in the above situation I call Phillip and say, "If you want to eat tonight, you'd better pick something up on your way home."For more last minute mea
Guess I should buy some kleenexes. 2007-12-04 16:17:00 Remember this post about Emily's aversion to kleenexes?Well, it's getting worse...and funnier!Just yesterday she was picking her nose.... Me: Emily, don't pick your nose. Emily: But how am I 'posed to get the booger?Later that same day.... (she has a habit of putting her fingers in her mouth while she's watching tv, so I am constantly saying this...) Me: Sissy, get your fingers out of your mouth. Emily: I was just putting the booger in my mouth, Mom.Ewwwwwww! What am I going to do with her?!? Read more:Guess

Here's the sappy one. 2007-12-20 11:15:00 Remember this post I did for Becca's birthday? Well, you didn't think I'd let Mara's birthday go by and not do a sappy post for her too, did you?Sweet Mara....Oh how four years have flown by!It honestly feels like just yesterday that I was waiting, and waiting, and WAITING for a baby. Oh how I wanted a baby so bad, but God sure taught me so much during that waiting. Then I was waiting, and waiting, and WAITING for you to come out of my tummy...you were two weeks late. I thought I'd be pregnant forever! And then I got to meet you and kiss that precious face. The day my whole life changed!I've never met a sweeter or more nurturing girl. You help me take care of your baby sisters, and have such a caring heart. And how funny and silly you are! You love making your mommy and daddy laugh. And now you're such a big girl...and so very independent.I love you so much, and can't wait to see what the future holds for you.Do me a favor though...don't grow so fast. I'm afraid I'm going
I have a four year-old! 2007-12-20 10:40:00 Four years old....wow, that still blows my mind!We had her party at a gymnastics place. All of the kids really had a great time running out all of that pent up energy.Mara's favorite part was "flying"....I know, the picture would have been better with the candle turned around but then she couldn't see it!Do you think Becca liked the cupcake?

Photographic Proof... 2007-12-18 06:56:00 ...that I'm loosing it, or rather lost it!I started a load of laundry last night before I went to bed. Started the washer, added the detergent, and well that's as far as I got. Not sure what distracted me, but I went to put the clothes in the dryer this morning and this is what met me in the laundry room...That would be a totally empty washer full of water. I guess there are worse ways to loose it! Read more:Proof

It's beginning to look a lot like like..... 2007-12-17 08:19:00 ....Christmas!!!So BooMama is hosting a tour of homes in blog land. It's so fun to see everyone's special Christmas decorations. Here goes my contribution...Christmas at the circus.....First is my favorite thing to get out every Christmas, my Willow Tree nativity scene. It was such a special time this year putting it up. It's the first year I let the girls help me set it up. They loved it.Here's the decorated...or rather re-decorated Christmas tree. The girls helped decorate it the first time and then CRASH! it hit the floor. Water pouring everywhere. Broken decorations everywhere. Half of the lights fell so far down that I literally had to start completely over. Sweet Christmas memories! No really, I can laugh about it now. Twenty years from now I'll be saying, "Remember the year the tree fell right after we decorated it?"Pink stockings on the mantel...can you tell we have girls?! My sister-in-law made these.I had big plans for putting up outside lights and decorations

Keyrings as Christmas ornaments work for me. 2007-12-11 22:06:00 We decorated the Christmas
tree yesterday, TWICE (That's an entire blog post by itself so I'll have to keep you wondering why we had to do it twice!).When you're on vacation, there are always shops selling Christmas ornaments (even in the middle of July) for way too much money. I love getting Christmas ornaments to remember special family times though. So, I always look for cute but cheap key rings. You just take the ring part off, add an ornament hook, and there you have it...fabulous Christmas ornaments for just a few dollars. It was so much fun showing the girls our 'ornaments' from our honeymoon. We went to London and a little town called York. Here are some pictures of some great ones that we picked up for about $1.50...The first two are from the minster in York...And here's a really bad out of focus picture of a cute little British telephone booth...Ooo, most of them are nice heavy metal ones too. They really look neat on the tree. Key rings as Christmas ornaments defin

Did you know.... 2007-12-02 21:26:00 ...that Charlie Brown was southern? We were watching the Charlie Brown Christmas last night. Charlie Brown was directing the Christmas pageant. When he got to the first rehearsal he said, "Ok y'all, it's time to get started."My head snapped around.....he totally said y'all!Charles Schultz was from Minnesota, so I'm not sure where it came from.Maybe it was just a little Christmas present from Charlie Brown to all of us Southerners!
