"Iran: 'Peace and Friendship for All'" - DR
2007-10-01 17:04:00
This is an interesting report on CNN about Iran. The jist of it is that Islam's version of Simon-the-Likeable, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, declared that Iran wants "peace and friendship for all." For all that is...except Israel...Ahmadinejad went on to say that Israel was "an invader," and that it "cannot continue its life." That's harsh language from someone crying "peace and friendship for all." It's scary when you think that this is coming from the same guy who has said Israel should be wiped off the map on multiple occasions. Furthermore, this is from the leader of the country supposedly seeking nuclear weapons.Ahmadinejad is on a major campaign to further divide the West and separate the U.S. and Israel from our allies, and he's employing careful rhetoric to do so, such as "We want friendship -- friendship to all. We love all nations and all human beings. Anyone who is killed, we are against it." That's the gravy on the mashed potatos for much of the liberal peace racket!

"Earth Might Survive Sun’s Explosion" - DR
2007-10-01 17:03:00
This is encouraging...(to say the least).Well it appears that when the Sun swells into a red giant star (as its hydrogen fuel supply diminishes), astronomers say that, while Mercury and Venus are toast, EARTH WILL SURVIVE!! That's wonderful news, right? Nevermind that none of this will happen for 5 billion years. I can't help but feel that the money spent on this research...maybe could've been used more beneficially. The important thing is that now we at least know. With this heavy burdensome worry off my mind, I can now get back to work...

"Gingrich Says No to White House Bid" - DR
2007-09-29 15:06:00
Newt Gingrich has finally ended speculation about a possible White House run in 2008.Personally, I think this is a good thing. Newt can still help bring about the changes that he believes the country needs without being a presidential candidate. For the GOP, it lets focus continue to be on the current candidates. Thompson's delay in enterring the race hurt the start of his campaign, and I fear the same might have been true for Newt.Besides, Newt's year might be the 2012 election if Hillary wins 2008. He could be the familiar conservative face/name to rally around after a few painful years under another Clinton.

Calderon Implies More U.S. Responsibility For Mexico's Woes
2007-10-08 10:05:00
"On ABC television's 'Good Morning America,' [Mexican President] Calderon lauded President George W. Bush's failed attempt to get the U.S. Congress to approve comprehensive immigration reform, and said the way to stop illegal immigration is to build economic growth and opportunities in Mexico , not fences." - Yahoo News.Great idea Felipe. Building the Mexican economy would slow down illegal immigration to the United States. Only one problem: It's not the U.S.'s responsibility to build the Mexican economy, it's yours.
