No food and a Raccoon 2007-11-18 20:57:42 It seems everything on campus that had food was closed. I kept missing the caf and the Knights Court was closed all weekend. What the check is up with that? Christine’s is always closed on weekends.
Cristina and I ended up having to go out to eat.
Oh and I went to see Beowulf with Eric in 3D. It was awsome! I loved it. We saw raccoons! There was a family of them and the baby was behind me peaking out from behind a box curious about me and Eric who were equally as curious. There was like three or four. It was so cool. They were hanging out around the green center.
Lynn is perfect for nature lovers. You might have to look for it but its there. Fish, birds, raccoons, turtles, etc. Just open your eyes and look around Lynn.
Being a biology major helps. Professor Villa makes it easy to see all the natural wonders around Lynn and Boca.

Breakfast with Carlos 2007-11-16 09:55:54 I just had breakfast with Carlos
. It seems that once a week, since we have class at 9 - 9:50, by the time we get out of class we are hungry and end up having breakfast together. I like it because its right after class so we talk about what we just learned or what ever happened that was crazy in class that day. Today we talked a lot about our families and when we were growing up.
Its just a simple thing that happens once a week it seems, which brings great joy to my non- morning mood. Plus, breakfast is great since not many people are there and I can order stuff fresh. Its something nice that I hope we can some how work out for next half of this fast moving school year!
I have my advising meeting today to pick out my classes. Yes! I am so excited!
Got to go! I have bio right now and I have a test! Don’t want to be late for that!

First sporting event 2007-11-16 09:49:17 I went to the basketball game last night. ( I forgot to post it…. ooops!) I loved it. I was screaming and cheering for Lynn.
There were moments when I would cock my head and was like damn! That was cool. They were fast and smooth with some good moves.
I love the guys in suits that were on the bench! It was great. (they looked great, well… the whole team looked great, but I think I am totally just a huge basketball fan.)
Then there was the dance team and the cheer team. Both had some nice moves. I saw a lot of my sisters out there. I even saw a few BSU members on the court dancing.
I had no clue what I was missing for weeks! Damn! I can’t wait for the next home game of any sport. I better find Gene and ask him when the next men’s basketball game is at home.

Hard to get up 2007-11-16 08:41:47 For the past two weeks, I have been having a hard time getting up for my classes that are in the morning. I am starting to show a few minutes later and later each class.
I love my sociology class, I just wish It was not so early in the morning! We have so much fun in my class. We discovered a new meaning to “Who’s your daddy?” Woody Allen anyone? lol. Nicole is mad crazy with her side comments. A few classes, she’s almost brought me to tears from laughter.
Now we are talking about what makes a marriage, and how to raise children. No names, but some one said that they had cordless phones thrown at them and remotes to the TV. It was funny the way he said it, but its a sad truth. Our professor asked which one of us were spanked and then asked us to tell our stories. I love how we get to give so much imput in this class. I learn so much just from my classmates.
Broken phone 2007-11-25 18:07:20 I am so happy to be back to my dorm room. I had fun with my family, but I was starting to miss my freedom a little too much.
Sadly, soon as I arrived in DC, my cell phone
broke. I didn’t realize it was the phone, not the charger until I got back. Long long long, story that I do not feel like going into details over. I’m a little upset since it has so much information on it and that I use it all the time for everything. I am almost not sure how to function at school without it.
Thank goodness T Mobile has all my information online that was on my cell phone so I can find my address book and call people to tell them that my phone is broken.
Now I have to run around town tomorrow to try and get my phone fixed in the middle of my always busy monday’s. Great.

Going home soon! 2007-11-21 08:26:16 Just a few more hours until I get on that plane that will take me home! I can not wait! I have not been home in months. I miss my family, my cats, my room, my own bed, and my own bathroom!!!!
Now I just have to live through this last class and pack…. yes I said pack. I need to throw clothes in my bag and go.
I am having breakfast with my friends before we all leave. Rob’s idea. I think he’s going to miss having two girls boss him around all day long. Hehe. I helped him pack last night.
Cristina already knows I am going to miss her. I complained about her being gone the whole time she was away at a family wedding.

Stress 2007-12-01 01:50:53 Its late at night and I am still up although I have a ton of stuff to do tomorrow plus the Gala.
Rob came over after we went for a walk and I put on music and started dancing. He just shook his head and called me a freak. lol. Aparently me busting out moves is random to him.
I was talking to my little bro online, he was sending me to bed! Hehe.
So Rob ate my M&M’s and I was dancing to the song “My Love is like Woah” by Mya. He just thought I had lost my mind. I was stressed and needed music.
Oh ya, Cristina and I had a girls night tonight. It was great. I bought my dress for the Gala, its black. Rob was trying to get through the bag to see it but gave up and said he would rather just be surprised than put the effort into fighting the bag. lol. Cristina and I went to see “This Christmas” with Chris Brown. We were two 7th graders in there. lol. The movie was funny and touching. It was the second time I saw it and I could see it again!

Its a “Frosted Formal” which is like a school dance for college students. lol. I’m kind of excited about it.
I am going by myself because as always, I never really want to bother in finding a date and blah blah blah, it just seems to bring drama, so I go solo.
Rob and Cristina are going together as friends. So we are all pretty much going together.
So… SHOPPING!!! I am looking for a simple little blue dress for the Gala.
Bowling with friends 2007-11-28 23:51:44 Rob and Cristina weren’t in good moods tonight so Eric and I dragged them out.
Since Eric got his car today, he got to drive! YIPPY!!! I didn’t have to play parent in the car and decide who sat up front in the car with me this time.
So we went bowling! First we stopped for food because Rob was hungry, then we went on to Boca Bowling
for a great night of bowling.
It was truly a night for the books. We had so much fun, the four of us. Everyone forgot out their problems. I have to thank one of my sisters who gave me the idea. Gosh I love having so many sisters sometimes! I just grab one of them and ask for some help and there you go! A great idea leads to a great night!
Rob won both games, but it didn’t matter. We were having a ton of fun and thats all that mattered. My three favorite people at Lynn with me for a relaxing night of no stress, no worries.

No work this week 2007-11-27 23:48:35 Since I don’t have work this week, I can spend the extra time taking care of a lot of business that has been neglected. I am glad that I can get some stuff done and out of the way. I am hoping that I can get all of my school work finished before this weekend so I can enjoy every second of it without a care in the world. That would be nice. A busy week so I can enjoy my weekend to the fullest!
Gosh, its late, I should be sleeping! I have class at nine in the morning!
I think I am just happy to be home at Lynn again. I missed my life here while home in DC.
Friends don’t let friends clean 2007-11-27 23:44:13 I sometimes get into cleaning fits (well thats what I call them.) Today happened to be one of those days. I spent hours cleaning my room from top to bottom. I pretty much reorganized half my room.
After about three hours, I started to feel grumpy. I had a horrible headache from the stuff I was using to clean and dust with. The vacuum battery died while I tried to clean up the floor a little. Shame, I guess it will have to wait.
I called Eric because I had finally gotten hungry at around nine, way after Cristina called me for dinner. I needed to get out of my room. I was going nuts with cleaning and even I knew it. Eric and I went for a drive and got some fast food. He was on the phone with his girlfriend CJ, and I was helping him convince her that she needed rest since she’s sick. It must be a blue moon since I was on his side, not CJ’s.
Once back at school, Eric insisted that there was no way I was going back to my room. I had to stop cleaning. We watched Everybody loves R
Things on my mind 2007-11-27 12:07:57 I think one of the down sides to college is that we end up with a little to much free time to think about stuff.
If we have time to make fun of colleges names like FAU: Find Another University, or Lynn: Lynnmetary. (aka an easy school. If you want to work yourself to death, go to Harvard.)
Lynn is a small school, which means, try to avoid some one? Nice try, but you are just out of luck. They will be every where you go. (I find it handy to learn about a new area of Lynn.)
Today in math I was the only one with a calculator, or at least the only one to admit it. Having my professor turn to me every three seconds was getting kind of annoying. I didn’t have a chance to write down the problems!

A school full of Kuwaiti’s 2007-11-26 16:28:02 I saw a friend of mine who happens to be from Kuwait today out side with some friends of his. He told me they were all from Kuwait, which made me very excited. I miss Kuwait greatly and I miss the sound of Arabic.
I grew up in the Middle East so its hard for me to be away from area that I love. It was a nice surprise to be able to talk about the Middle East and hear Arabic. Although, I am extremely rusty on my Arabic. I hardly understood a word! It was driving me crazy. I haven’t spoken it in so long that I felt like a new comer to the table.
Well now I have some new Kuwaiti friends to help me practice!
Lynn is full of Kuwaiti kids… or maybe I am just drawn to them like a magnet? Just one of the things I love about Lynn. Full of diffrent cultures and languages!
I miss the Middle East a lot. Some days I feel like my heart is crying out to return over seas, even if it is for a day. To me, the desert is my home.

Rage to the phone 2007-12-07 18:09:50 For the past two days, I have been trying to work on a lot of diffrent assignments, which has been extremely hard to do. Why you may ask? BECAUSE MY FRIENDS KEEP CALLING EVERY 5 MINUTES!!!!! Try getting some peace and quiet around here! Apparently its unnatural.
It has been very hard trying to keep my focus when my phone
rings every 5 minutes. Today, around crunch time for me to finish my Isearch paper, I had people calling me like crazy asking stupid questions. Last night I had to deal with Rob nagging me at 11pm to go out with them to smoke Shisha. Seeing how I was already in my PJ’s and still only on page 6 of my paper that needed to be at least 10, I was not happy to be distracted. He would not stop and I was starting to get upset.
Eric kept calling to see what I was up to, not really asking much, just wanted to know what I was doing. I hate when I say I am still working, and people say “really???” all surprised, when they are the reason why its taking me so lo
Snow day with no snow 2007-12-07 09:21:11 We had a party at Lynn last night which we called Snow Day, but the snow never showed up! Aparently, the pump was broken on the truck that was supposed to be bringing in the snow.
I am shocked, with all people we had there, not one of them was able to fix it???
Oh well, I had a ton of fun with my friends, although, I spent the whole night hungry for some reason.

They help you with your homework when you are suffering in a class.

A happy little surprise 2007-12-06 13:13:15 I was sitting in my English class yestorday when I spotted some one I had not seen in months walk by the library window. Stefano, the person I interviewed with before my senior year of high school walked by, I couldn’t run out of my class to say hello, but I emailed him, explaining how shocked I was that he wasn’t on a trip some where far away. I told him I would love to drop by and see how things were going for him.
He emailed me back saying he looked foward to seeing me and was happy to be back in town for a while.
I saw him today as I walked out the caf with Cristina. I had lost the battle of fighting her from buying a new purse from the lady who had two long tables full of them. I walked right up to Stefano and asked if he was looking for something for his wife. He said yes and turned to see me. He looked surprised. The Holiday Gala: A Frosted Formal 2007-12-06 12:55:09 The Gala was wonderful. Cristina kept calling me every few minutes to see if I was ready, and half the time, I was in the middle of doing something. I almost burnt my hair because I was trying to get to the phone.
Rob took forever to get to the buses. Cristina was calling him and grumpy until he showed up out of know where and freaked us out.
The bus ride sucked. There were these two couples in the back making all kinds of noise and being stupid.
Cristina was wearing a blue and black dress for the Gala, and I picked an all black dress.
So we walk in, and there are two lines, one for under 21 and 21 and up so they could get a band for drinks.
The food was ok, not the greatest, but it sure beat the food in the caf so it was all good. The didn’t start until the band started playing.

A hand full of brains 2007-12-03 09:02:04 Some days I feel like only a hand full of people use their brains at Lynn. Today is one of those days.
People say and do stupid stuff, like talk on their cell phone in the library. There is a girl doing it infront of me now while I am trying to work and all I want to do now is throw something at her and be like “It’s a library, leave if you want to use your cell phone to gossip.”
And I am going to blog about the Holiday Gala. It was fantastic. Just haven’t had the time. I know its going to be a long post already.
Freshmen 101 tip: Do not use your cell phone in the library. You will get evil looks and nasty comments from people around you.
A gentlemen 2007-12-13 23:05:35 It was raining hard today while Cristina and I had lunch in the caf. All of a sudden, I see her look up and make a face.

I turn to see a guy topless holding a blue shirt. He then turns to hand it to his girlfriend who then uses it to cover her head. Cristina and I both turn and have the girly “aww” moment.

Cleaning lady going through the trash 2007-12-10 20:47:39 This morning, when I was on my way to my exam, I saw the cleaning lady going through the trash. It freaked me out, and I probably wouldn’t have given it a second thought if it wasn’t for the fact that the bag of trash she was going through was mine.
I wanted to say something but then I didn’t want to be late for my exam. I kind of felt it was an invasion of my privicy, plus, scary, and gross. I kind of wanted to tell her off for going through my trash. She was examning every piece of it! It was seriously creepy!

Dirty Clothes 2007-12-10 20:41:37 This weekend I washed all of my clothes. Why you ask did I wash all of them? Because they ended up in the dirty laundry bag but I haven’t had time to wash clothes in weeks. I wore everything I had until I had nothing left. I had to wash clothes.
Well, since I waited so long, the bag came up to my uppper arm! It was crazy. Eric was out with his sister, Rob was setting up the ZBT pool party, and so it came down to me and Cristina dragging that sucker over to the laundry room. Ick. It was horrible! Us trying to carry it to the stairs was a nightmare. By the time we got to the edge, I was like lets just push it down. I kicked it all the way down and we dragged it out the door. We got as far as the pathway across the tennis courts before Cristina started cursing out Rob. Lol. It was funny to watch. She marched over to get him since he was at the pool and while she was gone, one of the guards drove by on a golf cart, stopped turned around, and came back. A stressed out Cristina 2007-12-10 00:56:45 Cristina called me stressed out at like 12:30 or something, freaking out about exams. Now, I had already had my little melt down a while before, so I knew she just needed to let it all out.
I was in the middle of working when she called, and I knew one thing, I was not going to get peace until she got peace of mind. Since I have an empty bed in my room, (sorry Gabby) I told her to bring her stuff over and spend the night here. That way we could talk and she could get a nights rest away from her room.
She let off some steam that had built up from to much pressure on herself. Now she’s sleeping on Gabby’s bed. I think she can finally relax. Only, she had to lecture me about getting sleep before she went to bed!
Err. Of course I plan on sleeping… later.

Worried about exams 2007-12-09 21:04:09 So I am worried about exams
. I have so much on my plate right now. I can not wait for this week to be over. I really can not wait!
I have to keep my GPA at 2.8 or above for Sigma, and I am really trying to do well at school right now.
I have a feeling I might be pulling an all nighter. Why you may ask? I have two exams in the morning, and a stupid paper due in the afternoon! I am tired, I just want to go home, and this is to much for one monday! How am I supposed to study for everything when all my exams are monday and tuesday??? I have four exams and this stupid paper!
*sighs* I hope I get through this! At this point, I’m not asking to get through well, just through this week.
Vacation with my family 2007-12-23 22:31:34 I have been bored out of my mind at my grandmother’s house, that was, until yestorday!
My mom showed up from DC, finally! My dad dropped by to say hello.
Then today, my mom was at the store with my grandmother and ran into some one we haven’t seen in 13 years! It was funny because the same woman had ran into some one she hadn’t seen in 10 years a few minutes earlier and my mom over heard them talking. If she hadn’t, they still wouldn’t have seen each other. We are going to their house on Jan 1st for a party! Way to bring in the new year with old friends!
My dad brought my brother with him tonight. It was great, we talked about old times when I was little, and the time we all went camping in New York. It was crazy! Lots of laughter. Best night ever! I got to chill with my family. I got to hang out with my dad and brother!
Downside of the night? I found out Grandma had eaten all the chocolate chip cookies for lunch!
