Bombay High Court To Rule On Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s “Eklavyya”… 2007-10-01 03:55:00
Bollywood movie Eklavya’s journey as India’s official entry to the Oscars, if at all, will be subject to the Bombay High Court
’s order.
Bhavna Talwar director of “Dharm” had moved court challenging the selection. She had accused the selection committee of bias, saying some of its members are close to Vidhu Vinod Chopra
, the maker of Eklavya.
On Saturday the court observed, “prima facie there seems to be a merit in the argument.” The court also asked the Film Federation of India, which selected the film to reply within 10 days.
But Chopra who’s preparing to launch a promotional campaign for the film in the US has ruled out any foul play.
“They seem to have different problems every time, first the jury then the director. My film never went last year but I did’nt complain. My children say Chak De but that is not going,” said Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Filmmaker.

“In fact, earlier on he had even allotted dates when the late Ismail Merchant ’s nephew Naeem wanted to produce it. Abhishek told Naeem that if Aparna Sen is doing ‘Gulel’, he’d do it. Then Ismail died and the project fell apart. But I’m ready to make ‘Gulel’ with Abhishek as soon as he gives the dates,” she added.

But now, if reports are to be believed, Vivek has agreed to act in the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit 7/G Rainbow Colony , which is a touching tale of a guy in love with a girl in his neighborhood.
The movie will reportedly be directed by Selvaraghavan , who directed the original Tamil flick. UTV will produce the Hindi version.
Vivek’s co-star in the film has still not been finalized.
