Get organized with life Algorithms.
2007-09-23 21:36:23
I started making a few more of my goal algorithms yesterday and thought it would be great to share how and why I do it with my readers. A goal algorithm is a step chart of your goals that is laid out with the steps you need to take to complete the goal that is on the top. I use algorithms on everything and my kids use it on homework, learning a new skill, projects they like to do, and many other areas in life. Life in it’s self is nothing more than an algorithm. You’re born - learn skills as you grow-up to get a job and take care of yourself - raise a family (for some people) - retire - then return to the earth (die). You use millions of infinite steps to complete this algorithm of life. I began thinking of life as an algorithm many years ago when I was going to collage for archaeology. When the class started the professor went around the room asking the students why they were there. Some gave usual answers (they were interested in past cultures) and others gave an “I

Saving Some Money!
2007-09-20 19:39:24
Save some Money - Next time your car window breaks, Check out an Auto Salvage Company - My son Brad was mowing our front yard and ran over some rocks, kicked them up and broke my passenger side window of my van. I did what most people would do and called a few glass companies to get a quote for repair. The cheapest quote was around $800, so I set an appointment to get it fixed. A few days before my appointment, I was having coffee with my ex-husband (Yes, we do that! ) and told him my window broke and the price to fix it. He told me about an auto salvage company that might do it cheaper. We go to the savage place and find out it was $35 for the window and $45 an hour to get it fixed, to make a long story short; I canceled my appointment with the glass company and saved over $700. That’s saving some serious cash! Embrace the “store card”- Just about every store has one. I’m not talking about the store credit card, I’m talking about the “member&rd

Geocaching with the kids update.
2007-09-19 08:30:45
Here’s some picture of my kids doing geocaching the first two are from the Brunswick, Maine area. We went to Brunswick to go to the air show, but the line of people waiting to get off the exit for it was at least a mile long and we sat on the highway inching our way off the exit for almost two hours. When we finally got to the air force base the gates were closed do to no more room. so we were turned away, we decided to do a few caches in the area before heading back home. That way it wasn’t a total wait of  a trip. Left to Right - Todd, Brad, Kyle, and Tianna in the middle front. The second one. Both of the caches were pretty easy and took use less then an hour to do them both, which was nice because the kids were tired from sitting in the car most of the day. The cache made them enjoy the trip anyways. You can tell that Kyle on the right is tired. Even though we didn’t make it to the air show, we all agreed it was a good trip! About the Kids, air show, brunsw

Why do we dismiss such natural beauty???
2007-09-16 00:52:46
I was watching my 9yr old daughter put on eye makeup and I was reassuring her she didn’t need it, that she was so beautiful without it, then she told me that her friends wear it and the boys pay attention to those girls more, so she wanted to be like them and do it too. After the bathroom ordeal with my daughter; I wondered where in the world did she at 9yrs old get the idea she had to be like other people to get noticed? I’ve always told her she was beautiful. Then I started noticing (even-more-so) all the beauty advertisements that are on everything; T.V., radio, internet, and sides of buildings. It’s mostly centered around makeup and erasing the “aging”. Wear this and look like this! Type advertising. None of it is the importance of health, good nutrition and natural beauty because they can‘t bottle natural beauty and sell it to you, therefore, no one to them, has it. It must be made in a lab. We start hearing these advertisements at a very young age and are cond

The Beauty of Seawall Beach inside Morse MT. Nature Reserve.
2007-09-12 23:17:07
This beach is empty most of the time. It’s at least a mile long with a few houses in the area and is very open to the ocean which makes it a great spot for kayaking or diving. It’s all sand on the shore line, so your kids can run wild. We also found a letterbox in the area (not telling where, though ). I went on the geocaching website and found a few caches in the area, so I’m taking my kids back for some treasure hunting. My son Todd found an interesting piece of wood on the beach, I put the images below the beach pictures. We called it “Billy” because it looks like a mountain goat. To get to the beach you need to walk down a path, It’s about a mile and a half  hike on a nice partially paved trail, bring a stroller if you have little kids. Bikes, however, aren’t allowed on the trail; I have no idea why. If you want to take beach chairs, cooler, and other things bring a wagon or something with wheels that will make the hike easier on y

Having fun with the kids, A great activity they will love!
2007-09-02 18:34:42
Are you looking for an easy and quick activity you can do with the kids, that’s fun and exciting? If so, I have a great game I play with my kids that you are going to love and best of all, it’s very cheap too play, gotta love that!  . The game is GEO caching, for everyone who has never heard of this; It’s basically a treasure hunt that you play with people all around the world. People in various locations place what’s called “caches” into spots around where they live, or places they travel too. Then, they go onto this website and give the locations (GPS coordinates) to the caches, and some hints to help you find it.  I made lists of the rules, tips, and items you will need. Rules of the game - The rules are very basic: If you take something you must leave something. It’s very rude not too. Don’t destroy the area where the cache is placed; This one is obvious, but needs to be said; place it back exactly like you found it. If t

Are you giving banks too much control over your money?
2007-08-30 08:00:41
Dirty dealings of Bank of America - Let me set the stage for you. That way you have a good understanding of what went on. First let me tell you that I had several (6) accounts with Bank of America. I got scammed a few months back you can read the article here. The account I used to deposit the fake cashier’s check from the scam, went into the red ( negative funds). I had a direct deposit set up to pay it off. After a few weeks passed my ATM card from another one of my accounts (mortgage account I setup to auto pay my mortgage payment - which Bank of America held) didn’t work into the ATM. I go into the bank and speak with one of the tellers and she told me “my account had been closed.” I’m thinking “what the heck!” I told her I didn’t close it that there was a mistake and you guys (bank of America) take my mortgage payment from it, so why would I close it? She said she didn’t know, reopened my account and issued me a new card. A wee

Kids dressed up
2007-11-01 09:35:26
Here’s my blurry picture of the kids before they went out trick or treating. From left to right: Kyle on the left - A vampire, Brad in back - A monster type guy, Todd on the right - A shot IRS agent, Tianna down in front - A vampire. They are all cute! Todd (the shot IRS agent) spent 5 minutes doing his costume and it didn’t cost a thing. He used an old shirt from last year and added a blood mark with the fake blood that came with Tianna’s costume, then he used a pencil to poke a hole in the shirt to look like a bullet mark. Last year he just wore a hat that looked like a 1950’s gangster hat that brad found on the ground walking from school. He’s very creative. About the Kids, costumes, Current Events, fun with kids, halloween, trick or treat

I would play with this for hours and I know my kids and friends would too. It’s a bracelet made of tiny magnets. You can shape it or just twist and play with it. It sells on their website for $60 (the double one). They have different designs and styles. It’s like a rubics cube of jewelry! Morgan Spurlock from “Super Size Me” has a surprising new project
2007-12-09 19:30:34
Morgan Spurlock from the documentary T.V. show Super size Me where he eats nothing but McDonalds food for a month; has a new documentary coming out where he might have found Osama Bin Laden. Doing what the U.S. Government couldn’t do in the past 6 years. Osama has been known to do interviews with a selected few people he likes, so this could just be a &ldquo ;call in&rdquo ; interview and Mr. Spurlock not really stomping the dirt to find him, I am however, A huge fan of his work and think anything he does on this subject will be worth the time to watch. The documentary is called “Where In The World Is Osama bin Laden?” and is hitting the Sundance Film Festival next month. Mr. Spurlock doesn’t have any postings on his blog about it or much of any thing else except for a picture of his beautiful son. Congrats! to Morgan  and Alex. A personal Jetpack
2007-12-08 19:00:41
Someone has made a personal jetpack to sell in 2008. If you have $200,000 to spend on a new toy then consider this one. It only goes 10 miles and has no coffee holder, but could be fun to play with if you don’t mind the price tag. It’s quite bulky and I can’t see any practical use for it except for fun. You could use it to just fly around and bug your neighbors. :)  CNN Money Current Events, jetpack, news

All the mortgage rules proposed are good ones. Unfortunately they come 20 or more years to late. Congress is still doing nothing to help the people that lost their homes already or the thousands of people that are homeless because their landlord’s property got foreclosed on. The people in need now should be an immediate concern to congress and work on the future people after.
