Condoleezza Rice or CondoSleezza Rice?
2007-09-29 11:15:37
We all know Bush & Company will do ANYTHING to continue the fraudulent and illegal sham that they are perpetuating on the American people. The words truth, honor, justice, integrity, and protect the Constitution have, in the Bush White House, become falsehoods, dishonesty, injustice, deceit, and betrayal of the Constitution. The only person left in the Administration that might have had even a smidgen of integrity left was Condolezza Rice. But even she has fallen to the dark side of the Force. Some of the methods the Administration has used over the years is the cover of “National Security”, “National Interest” and “Executive Privilege” to hide their illegal activities and failed policies from the American people. National Security means Bush’s Security, National Interest means Bush’s interest, and Executive Privilege means Fuck off Congress. The less the people and Congress know, the better. The latest example of the Administr

President Bush, Whose Ass Are We Kicking and How Do We Know?
2007-09-26 10:57:28
This is a 1 minute speech Congressmen John Yarmuth (D-KY03) gave on the House floor yesterday. He asks Bush a couple of questions that Bush has never been able to answer. With brave American soldiers dying in record numbers, I have two questions for the President — just whose posteriors are we kicking and how do you know? With Sunnis and Shiites killing themselves and each other, plus an incompetence Maliki government, we don’t know who we’re fighting, much less where we’re kicking them. And while we’re tied up in Iraq, Al Qaeda thrives in Pakistan and Afghanistan. So the President’s turn of phrase will go to the blooper hall of fame with other Bush Golden Oldies like last throes, links to Al Qaeda and Mission Accomplished. There was a time when America’s success meant defeating Nazis, tearing down communism’s Iron Curtain and walking on the moon. Supportng our troops meant honest safeguards, not trash talk. How low have our standards fallen when the President points

Pink’s “Dear Mr. President”
2007-09-22 20:00:49
I don’t think I have ever posted any music on this site before. But there is always a first time. This video is from the group Pink and is from their new DVD Pink - Live From Wembley Arena. As Bush becomes more and more isolated from the real world, he only talks to and sees people who tell him what he wants to hear. He lives in his own little bubble, seeing what he wants to see, hearing what he wants to hear. All the while his actions are killing and maiming tens of thousands of our sons and daughters, crippling the Military for years to come because of his irresponsible actions. $500,000: The amount the war in Iraq costs per minute, according to a new analysis by Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz and Harvard’s Linda Bilmes, put out by the American Friends Service Committee. The study finds that this $720 million a day could buy homes for 6,500 families or health care for 423,529 children. Dear Mr. President listen to this song.. it may not be relevant to you

Special Comment: The President of Hypocrisy
2007-09-21 01:44:26
Olbermann to Bush Your hypocrisy is so vast Olbermann: So the President , behaving a little bit more than usual, like we would all interrupt him while he was watching his favorite cartoons on the DVR, stepped before the press conference microphone and after side-stepping most of the substantive issues like the Israeli raid on Syria, in condescending and infuriating fashion, produced a big political finish that indicates, certainly, that if it wasn’t already – the annual Republican witch-hunting season is underway. Senate Republicans Vote to Destroy Families
2007-09-19 19:51:36
Today Senate Republicans showed once again that they don’t give a damn about the lives and families of our soldiers. By a vote of 56-44 the Senators that support our troops were unable to get the 60 votes needed to clear a GOP filibuster. The roll call confirms that the only change in voting was that John Warner decided to vote against it this time, a change that was offset by Dem Tim Johnson’s return into the Senate. Also, GOP Senators David Vitter and Sam Brownback, who were no-shows last time, showed up to vote no this time. Not a single Republican moved from the No to the Yes column. Harry Reid responds to the defeat of the Webb measure: “In blocking this bipartisan bill, Republicans have once again demonstrated that they are more committed to protecting the President than protecting our troops. They have shown they will allow President Bush’s flawed war strategy to continue to strain our military rather than allow the availability of troops to dictate our operati

Senator Jim Webb made an exclusive video to explain why Congress must support the troops and pass the “Webb Amendment ,” on Wednesday. He asks us to call our elected officials and tell them to support this very simple, but important measure. It received 56 votes last time it was introduced, but was filibustered by the Rubber Stamp Republicans which included McConnell and Warner. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEIWzLjr2yk Please call and ask these senators to support Jim Webb’s pro-troop amendment: Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) DC: 202-224-6665 Anchorage: 907-271-3735 George Voinovich (R-Ohio) DC: (202) 224-3353 Cleveland: (216) 522-7095 Elizabeth Dole (R-North Carolina) DC: 202-224-6342 Raleigh: 866-420-6083 John Warner (R-Virginia) DC: (202) 224-2023 Roanoke: (540) 857-2676 Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) DC: 202-224-2541 Louisville: 502-82-6304 Arlen Specter (R-Pennsylvania) DC: 202-224-4254 Harrisburg: (717) 782-3951 Technorati Tags: Iraq, Patraeus, Surge, Videos, War Share Th

Would You Send Your Child To Die In Iraq?
2007-10-03 11:34:46
The Bush Administration has been very careful to make sure most Americans do not have to make any sacrifices (at least while he is in office) for his illegal and morally wrong war and failed foreign policies. The war has cost over 500 BILLION dollars and he keeps asking for more… but no increase in taxes… where is the money coming from? Bush is mortgaging our children and our grandchildren’s future while he lives in his and the Republican’s fantasy land world. Our voluntary military is so desperate for recruits you no longer need a high school diploma. Have a criminal record? No problem. Not a US citizen? No problem. Even lowering standards has not been enough, how about $20,000 to report in 30 days with up to another $25,000 later. Why is this not a problem for Bush? Because these recruits come from the middle and lower income American families, not the $5000 a plate Republican chicken hawks chicken shits. So long as it’s not their sons and daught

Condoleezza Rice: Decries Power-Hungry Chief Executive
2007-10-14 18:08:00
These statements coming from Condoleezza Rice about Russia are pretty ironic considering you could substitute Bush’s dictatorial regime for the Putin regime. The Russian government under Vladimir Putin has amassed so much central authority that the power-grab may undermine Moscow’s commitment to democracy. “In any country, if you don’t have countervailing institutions, the power of any one president is problematic for democratic development.” “I think there is too much concentration of power in the Kremlin. I have told the Russians that. Everybody has doubts about the full independence of the judiciary. There are clearly questions about the independence of the electronic media and there are, I think, questions about the strength of the Duma,” said Rice, referring to the Russian parliament. Rice’s State Department frequently has criticized what Washington regards as creeping authoritarianism among Putin and other top Russian leaders. What about the creeping aut

For three decades Vice President Dick Cheney conducted a secretive, behind-closed-doors campaign to give the president virtually unlimited wartime power. Finally, in the aftermath of 9/11, the Justice Department and the White House made a number of controversial legal decisions. Orchestrated by Cheney and his lawyer David Addington, the department interpreted executive power in an expansive and extraordinary way, granting President George W. Bush the power to detain, interrogate, torture, wiretap and spy — without congressional approval or judicial review. Your tax bill for Bush’s wars: $8000
2007-10-24 11:16:28
Dear America, thanks for all the money. Sorry about your kids. Signed, Haliburton, Blackwater, Bush, Cheney, Nouri al-Maliki, and Congress The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will end up costing $2.4 trillion over the next 10 years, according to a new CBO estimate. That’s $8,000 for every man, woman and child in the US, and it’s 40 times more than Bush told us the war would cost. Interest alone on the war’s costs will run about $705 billion because we’re fighting with borrowed money. Already, the wars’ $604 billion price tag is higher than than the costs of conflicts in Korea and Vietnam, when adjusted for inflation.read moreTechnorati Tags: War, Iraq, Impeach Bush, Share This

The Constitution & Rule of Law or No More Trampling on Our Constitution
2007-10-28 15:43:47
I suggest everyone read this speech Senator Dodd gave on the floor of the Senate Friday Morning. This is in regard to his efforts to stop the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) reform legislation, in its current form, from being considered by the full Senate and from receiving a vote on the Senate floor. Last week Dodd announced he has placed a hold on the bill, a tool available to Senators to stop legislation from moving forward. Mr. President, for 6 years the President has demonstrated time and again that he doesn’t respect the role of Congress, nor does he respect the rule of law. It is the latter point that I want to address this morning because it is the rule of law which draws us all together, regardless of politics, ideology, or party. It is the rule of law, not of men, which we swear to uphold when we take the oath of office in this Chamber, as Members do in the other Chamber, and certainly as the President does on January 20 every 4 years. Senator Dianne Feinstein Caves In To Bush

Late Friday My Senator , Dianne Feinstein , along with Senator Chuck Schumer caved in to Bush's hissy fit over the nomination of Michael Mukasey as Attorney General. They even waited until LATE Friday afternoon, usually when the Bush Administration releases embarrassing news they want to bury, to announce their capitulation and support of Mukasey. The “Great Decider” played his 9-11 fear mongering again, “Approve Mukasey or we will all die, and it will be all your fault”. “The job of Attorney General is essential to the security of America”…”Some in Washington should spend more time responding to the warnings of terrorists like Osama bin Laden, and the requests of our commanders on the ground, and less time responding to the demands of MoveOn.org bloggers and Code Pink protesters.” I guess the “Great Decider” has decided the Code Pink ladies are a threat to Bush’s false and misleading sense of National Security.

The Presidency Is Now A Criminal Conspiracy
2007-11-08 16:44:36
“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter, and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” Abraham Lincoln I always look forward to the Special Comments that Keith Olbermann occasionally does for his show. You can always count on it being an intense, passionate and emotional critique of the latest cowardly, illegal, unconstitutional or just plain stupid moves Bush or his administration have foisted on the American people. On the November 5th show Keith Olbermann comments on President Bush’s and Michael Mukasey’s response to allegations of waterboarding in the Bush administration. Also, the question is asked… Why was an Acting Assistant Attorney General forced out – just because he had the guts to do what Pres. Bush couldn’t? It is a fact startling in its cynical simplicity and it requires cynical and simple words to be properly expressed: The presidency of George W. Bush has now devolved into a criminal cons

What can $611 billion buy?
2007-11-12 21:34:31
From: The Boston Globe If the Bush administration succeeds in its latest request for funding for the war in Iraq, the total cost would rise to $611.5 billion , according to the National Priorities Project, a nonprofit research group. Almost 18 months' worth of free gas for everyone US drivers consume approximately 384.7 million gallons of gasoline a day. Retail prices averaged $3.00 a gallon in early November. Breaking it down, $611 billion could buy gasoline for everybody in the United States, for about 530 days. Many, many environment-friendly cars on the road With $611 billion, you could convert all cars in America to run on ethanol nine times over. The Budget Graph estimates that converting the 136,568,083 registered cars in the United States to ethanol (conversion kits at $500) would cost $68.2 billion. Nearly 14 million years' worth of tuition, room, and board at Harvard At published rates for this year, $611 billion translates into almost 14 million free rides for a year at H

The President needs to be reminded that he swore an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States-his administration has been systematically destroying the Constitution since he took office. With your help, CCR will flood the Oval Office with copies of the Constitution this holiday season. If you sign this letter, CCR will send it along with a copy of the Constitution to the White House as a seasonal reminder that the Constitution needs to be upheld ; not destroyed. We hope to send President Bush more than 25,000 copies of the Constitution by January 2008. Dear President Bush: Enclosed please find a copy of the U.S. Constitution. I wish you’d make some time in your busy schedule to read it. I would have hoped that you’d be pretty familiar with it already, because you have at least three times in your life taken a solemn oath to uphold, protect and defend it, but all the signs indicate that you either don’t know what’s in it, or you don’t care. “Flawed Bush Policy Wrapped in Illusion”: Rep. John P. Murtha
2007-11-18 09:42:21
Two Years after Calling for a Redeployment of U.S. Forces from Iraq — President Bush Refuses to Provide the American People with a Responsible Exit Strategy (Washington D.C.)- Tomorrow marks the two year anniversary of Congressman John P. Murtha ’s, Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, public call for the redeployment of U.S. forces from Iraq. The following is an issued statement From Congressman John P. Murtha, Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense: Two years ago, I was convinced that the President’s lack of strategy in Iraq was harming our military, our international credibility, and the strength of our nation. “Two years later, the President remains without a plan and I remain convinced that we must begin an orderly redeployment of U.S. forces from Iraq as soon as practicable. “All Americans want stability in the Middle East. But while our military is bogged down in Iraq, instability is spreading throughout the region. Pakist

So Many Candidates, So Little Choice?
2007-12-08 01:21:44
Below are the 16 candidates we have for our next president with links to their respective web sites. Yes, Sixteen of them, and so little to choose from. So lets have a go at choosing the best candidate (in my opinion) to lead our country for the next 4 years. The current slate of candidates for the Republican presidential nomination are among the sorriest in American history. So lets start with the Republicans. If you are one of the 28% of voters that still think George W. Bush is gods gift to America then any of the Republicans, except Ron Paul, should fill the ticket. Any of them are as immanently unqualified and incompetent as the current President is. If you are looking for someone who has a good chance of actually being worse than George Bush then stick to Rudy Giuliani or Fred Thompson. I actually like Ron Paul. He has true Republican values and a strong belief in what America should stand for at home and abroad. He is also the only Republican anti-war candidate. But,

The President of the United States is lying to the American People - Again

Yesterday in his press conference, President Bush asserted that Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell told him: “we have new information” on Iran’s nuclear program, but “he did not tell me what the information was.” BUSH: I was made aware of the NIE last week. In August, I think it was John — Mike McConnell came in and said, We have some new information. He didn’t tell me what the information was. He did tell me it was going to take a while to analyze. Later, when a reporter followed-up on this statement, Bush asserted no one ever told him to stop ratcheting up the rhetoric against Iran: REPORTER: Are you saying at no point while the rhetoric was escalating, as World War III was making it into conversation — at no point, nobody from your intelligence team or your administration was saying, Maybe you want to back it down a little bit? Thanks Senator Feinstein For Giving Us Michael Mukasey
2007-12-18 17:37:42
Is anyone really surprised that Mukasey is trying to delay congressional inquiries into the CIA’s destruction of interrogation videotapes? Or that the DOJ is trying to get U.S. District Judge Henry H. Kennedy to “stay out of the matter” Mukasey is nothing more than another Alberto Gonzales, but this time, with some intelligence. Back in November I wrote 2 articles, Senator Dianne Feinstein Caves In To Bush and Senator Dianne Feinstein Failed Us!, concerning Senator Dianne Feinstein capitulating to the Bush Administration and warning that the ethics, principles, and values of the DOJ under Michael Mukasey would be no different than under Alberto Gonzales. His approval by the Senate Judiciary Committee is due solely because you abandoned your constituents, the people of California, to support him along with Senator Schumer from New York.
