Lima's Wedding 2007-10-15 11:54:00 I usually avoid family programs, but I didn't want to miss Lima's wedding since we two have some beautiful childhood memories.
It was also good to be able to meet almost all of my maternal relatives, whom I only get to see once in a blue moon. Nice Eid get together!
Mar Shala Re! 2007-11-08 17:08:21 Former chief of Bangladesh Army Lieutenant General Mahbubur Rahman (retired) got a good bashing from a fellow BNP activist!
Who will believe that this guy once lead the army and used to get salutes wherever he went? Doesn't he have martial arts or hand-to-hand combat training? It's really amazing to see this sort of scenes... but thanks to the anonymous photographer, it had given me a straight 20 minutes of laughter!

Ending Life 2007-12-06 20:23:40 Lately I've been thinking about suicide a lot. I never had a family, never had friends, I was never a happy person.
The sadness and pain that has accumulated over the years will never go away unless I do what I wanted to do since my childhood. I've shed a lot of tears and I'm tired of it. This is getting unbearable. I must find a solution. Oh yeah, a full proof solution.

River Cruise on Buriganga 2007-11-30 12:17:00 I was very excited about the cruise on Buriganga river, but all my excitement died within half an hour of reaching Sadarghat Launch Terminal. The place is way too dirty and full of beggars of all ages. The river is fucking dirty and smells shit.
I'll never ever go back to that place without a very good reason. I never imagined a part of Dhaka could be so ugly. Read more:River

Dumb BTTB 2007-11-29 12:05:00 I'm considering sending a formal complaint to ICANN and IANA against BTTB. I'll be meeting ICANN officials in February, and I'll surely discuss about BTTB's mismanagement of .BD ccTLD.
Here's what raged my anger: I wanted to register a domain that expired over a year ago, but BTTB officials told me that it's not possible if I'm not the "original" registrant. According to their dumb rule, anyone who registers a .BD domain becomes the "owner" of that domain for life. Even if he doesn't pay the yearly due it'll be marked as a registered domain and BTTB won't allow anyone else to register it. Can BTTB get any more dumber than this? Do they understand how the domain registry business works?

My 4th Bank Account 2007-12-11 11:16:00 After checking out at three banks I decided to open my new account at Brac Bank. Their fees are reasonable enough, has enough ATMs around the country, and more importantly their customer services is good. I'd rate them 3.5/5.
The Visa card that comes with the account is accepted on all QCash machines and of coarse on all shops where I buy stuffs from, so good for me. Read more:Account
Smoking is Good! 2007-12-22 19:53:25 I started smoking at the age of 15. At first it was just to experiment and to impress girls, but later on I got hooked to it. It's been a long time I've been smoking, and I still feel good about it.
Anyway, here are the top 5 reasons why smoking is good:
5  It will keep your body warm during winter
4   It kills appetite, therefor you eat less (thus making you slimmer). You won't find a supermodel who doesn't smoke.
3   It helps you to concentrate on complex tasks (such as programming and engineering)
2   It reduces stress and anxiety dramatically
And the numero uno reason is:
1   It makes you feel good! (didn't you notice everyone smokes after having sex?)Smoking
is not only good for you, it's good for your country's economy as well... a lot of people earn their living by making and selling cigarettes, and the government earns a large revenue as well. So smoke as much as you can, forget what the doctors say. No matter what you're going to die anyway!

Compurius 2008-02-24 10:45:00 After thinking, thinking, and thinking, I came up with a name for my new company: Compurius. Here's how it's derived:
Computer + Aquarius = Compurius
Compurius will be providing FOSS, Linux and IT security services to small to large enterprises along with provide value added services for domain registration and hosting companies in Bangladesh. Technology Ahead, that's the slogan!
Mail from Google 2008-02-13 10:38:00 Here's an e-mail that I got from a Google
recruiter:
I ran across your website today and was intrigued by your passion for computing and open source. You seem to have been quite involved with FOSS projects in the past and still, currently. I wanted to touch base with you to find out more about your current activities and interests, and to hopefully discuss potential engineering opportunities at Google. What do you think?
I don't know if they would actually hire me or not, but it's an honour to get noticed.

BOINC on Linux Howto 2008-01-15 11:28:00 After signing up as a BOINC volunteer I received a good number of e-mails from people who ran into problems while trying to install or run the BOINC client on Linux
. Sure it isn't a difficult task, but still it isn't as straight forward as using it on Windows where you run the installation program and then you're ready to goto.
I haven't found much websites that can be helpful for novice Linux users, so here's my attempt to describe the installation process... the easy way of coarse.
Ubuntu and Debian:
Install the program using the apt-get tool. On the shell, type:
sudo apt-get install boinc-client boinc-managerThis will install both the client and the manager. Now type boincmgr to run the graphical user interface, and follow the instructions to attach new projects to the BOINC

Ahsan Manzil Visit 2008-01-05 10:56:00 I've been hearing about Ahsan Manzil since childhood, but never got the chance to visit it since it's located in a different part of Dhaka. I went to that area for the first two months ago, and decided to go there again to visit the Ahsan Manzil. So Shan and I kept making plans and finally went there today... and it was worth it. It's a beautiful architectural monument that reminded me of our gloried past.
Located on the banks of Buriganaga river and very near to Sadarghat Launch Terminal, it was the residential palace of the Nawabs of Dhaka. Now turned into a museum, it has 31 rooms and 23 galleries displaying portraits, furnitures and household articles and utensils used by the Nawabs.
Closed on Thursday, the museum is open from 10:30 to 17:30 on weekdays, and 15:00 to 19:30 on Frida

A Collection of Suicide Notes 2008-03-27 16:54:42 "I'm trying to watch TV but I don't know what I'm watching. It's so lonely here. I want to sleep but it just won't come. I'm so tired of hurting and being a lone. I keep thinking about the pills in the cabinet but I'm scared. My head hurts so much from crying but if I take anything for it I'm scared I won't stop and I would want to stop.
I don't have any choice in the matter. To make everything better I have to die. I can't make it right by living. I'm so scared I want out but oh I don't know.
I'm so cold, please do something. I can't stand this empty feeling that I'm having. My head is horrible. Stop the pounding it hurts so much. I have no control over anything in my life. I'm breaking into pieces. Somebody do something."
