2007-09-21 17:16:46
9/21/2007 11:29:33 AM The Jubilee Project has confirmed the cancellation of it’s plans to host a Western Skiing Event in Park City, Utah–which was beginning a buzz along the Wasatch Front this summer. Jubilee, a Utah Organization with a national sales team for United First Financial, wanted to involve it’s agents and generate a comrodery among it’s ranks of professionals. “There’s not better snow on earth than Utah.” stated Lee Bradshaw, on of the Co-Founders of The Jubilee Project. “We hoped this would be an opportunity to build closer relationships among our team, while showing the beautiful winter life of this state.” The event planned would have involved the entire national Jubilee network, lasting 6 days in Park City, where Lee Bhadshaw spent a good part of his career as one of Utah’s highest paid shuttle drivers. Talk of famous public speakers and motivational events would have rounded off the gathering, which was still

Winter Reports 2007 - 2008
2007-10-12 15:48:19
Winter Reports from Aspenflake: In the western United States Aspenflake predicts November being somewhat warm. Many of the storms will be held back by a fairly strong ridge. Some good sized storms, however, should make it through. The far north-west states should see a more average winter, expected temperatures, and average precipitation. The east is a little more difficult to predict, but we expect to see a cold November with average snowfall in many areas. It will be quite wet, as well. December will bring on a good-sized change in weather. We expect the ridge to be broken by very cold air. This means that there is a possibility that the entire west will be cold, more especially over the mountain west regions. December is expected to be the most ‘wintry’ month of the winter for 2007-2008 with higher than average snowfall. In the east, however, the ridge will form as usual and will quickly dry out. Above average temperatures and below average precipitation is a good bet.

Ski Safety and Health

On-piste injuries If a member of your party gets injured on the slopes, plant a pair of crossed skis above the accident site to warn other skiers and mark the location. Then call the ski patrol. At least one person should remain with the injured skier at all times. Make sure the casualty is as warm as possible and take off their skis (but not boots). If there’s any possibility of a neck or spine injury, don’t move them. Staunch any bleeding by applying direct pressure and elevating the limb, if possible. Lie an unconscious skier on their side in the recovery position, ensuring their mouth is empty of snow and vomit. If they’re not breathing, you’ll need to resuscitate them. A ski pole makes a handy interim splint for leg, knee and ankle injuries. For arm injuries, use a scarf or jumper to immobilise the limb. Preventing injuries There are a number of things you can do to avoid injuries and accidents on the slopes: Start a fitness programme at least six weeks b
