Last night our remaining couples each had to perform two dances - a Ballroom dance and a Latin dance. Gethin and Camilla ended up in first place, just one point ahead of Alesha and Matthew on the judges’ scoreboard, while an attack of nerves left Matt and Flavia in fourth place.
After some stunning displays from the professionals, including a sizzling Argentinian Tango to Armando Punturero’s Los Amigos by Vincent and Flavia, a performance to a Rocky Medley by the World Latin American Formation Champions, and a song from Cliff Richard, the fateful moment came. Who would be dancing for survival once the public votes were counted?
Bruce and Tess revealed the names of the couples who were safe, leaving Alesha and Matthew and Letitia and Darren to fight for survival. I can’t believe it! Alesha in the bottom two, and poor Letitia is out of Strictly Come Dancing. I bet Matt is a happy chappy! Alesha looked a bit shocked didn’t she? Matt probably couldn’t beleive his luck.
I don’t think there was any doubt who the judges were going to save. They all saved Alesha.
Will this knock her confidence going into the semi-finals next week? And can Gethin continue his winning streak and raise that trophy?

In a dramatic night where one judge threatened to walk out, Gethin Jones danced to the top of the Strictly Come Dancing
leaderboard.
Meanwhile heartthrob Matt Di Angelo found himself fighting to stay in the competition.
The Blue Peter presenter and dance partner Camilla Dallerup mesmerised the judges and audience alike with their “daring” American Smooth and “great” Jive - securing them an impressive 75-out-of-80 points.
It’s an almost certainty that Jones will meet previous firm favourite Alesha Dixon and her dance partner Matthew Cutler in the final on 22 December.
However it was the other male to reach the quarter-finals who was overcome with “nerves” and led to the most heated exchange yet between judges Len Goodman and Craig Revel Horwood.

Strange times on Strictly Come Dancing week 10 2007-12-09 06:06:23
Poor poor Matt.
Hands up if you agree. Well his nerves just got the better of him and it was heartbreaking to watch his Foxtrot fall to pieces. He just forgot the steps, so he said, and was left to finish the dance with the music still playing in the background. Let’s hope the public get behind him and put him through to the semi-finals. We know you can do it Matt!
Gethin was on top form, dancing a lovely American Smooth and energetic jive (although I still think Matt is technically better when he doesn’t forget his moves!).
Letitia danced well in the ballroom portion of the evening, and she got 35 points for her waltz. Her jive was OK but she did look a little uncomfortable in it!
Alesha was gorgeous as usual, her Viennese Waltz, dancing to memory, was stunning, although I wasn’t completely blown away by her Paso Doble.
All in all, a great quarter final. Bring on the semis!

The fiery Italian warned: “Leave my Flavia alone or there’ll be serious trouble.”
Dancer Vincent flew into a rage after weeks of rumours that his sexy girlfriend Flavia Cacace is having a fling with show partner Matt.

Christmas Strictly Come Dancing schedules! 2007-12-07 10:19:04 Source: BBC
It’s that exciting time of year when the Christmas
TV schedules are released and you can mark just what treats Auntie has to offer - and that includes your favourite show.
We can now confirm that the final of the show will be on Saturday 22nd December at 5.50pm with the eagerly-anticipated result show at 9.25pm.
Then on Christmas Day there will be a special Christmassy edition of Strictly where two former Strictly champions, Mark Rampakash and Darren Gough, take on the final four couples of this series.
Expect plenty of tinsel and some favourite seasonal tunes added to the mix. But which of the judges will be playing Scrooge and which ones Santa with their comments?

Christmas Special is on BBC One at 8.30pm.
And, if that wasn’t enough for you, documentary The Strictly Come Dancing Story, tracing the history of the show, will round off the year on 28th December at 7pm, BBC One.

Matthew Cutler has spoken of his determination to get to the final and really raise the bar in the final three weeks of the competition.
‘There is a lot of pressure for us to keep going out there and do well,’ he says. ‘Eighty out of 80, nobody’s done that before. That’s what I want.’
‘I really want to get four 10s. I would love to see them on the screen. We have to work really hard. This week is extremely important for us; you have to dance amazingly to get into the semi-final. I definitely want to be in there.’
‘I think we are putting in more hours as we feel we need that length of time to finish and feel comfortable. If we had half that time, we wouldn’t be ready. Every week is a journey.’

Matt and Flavia have revealed that their amazing chemistry has helped them overcome some mistakes on the dance floor.
‘Dancing with Matt is a real pleasure,’ says Flavia. ‘Several things have gone wrong in our routines we’ve known about – but we’ve kept it together so no-one has realised. It’s like having a twin or a special telepathy when we communicate.’

But the pair have been rumbled by us and last night a show source confirmed: “They are going out, it’s official.”

The BBC has apologised after Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips made a jibe about Poles.
The remark came last weekend when she slammed the performance of ex-rugby star Kenny Logan and Polish-born dancer Ola Jordan.
She said: “It was like the pole and the Pole dancer dancing around him. It was like Poles from Poland. There was nothing there – Kenny barely moved.”
The BBC said that the comments were meant to be a play on words and not an insult to Polish people. But the remark sparked a furious response from some viewers with the BBC receiving 32 complaints.
One wrote on a message board: “I hope Ola complained to the producers about the comments. The dragon better not have booked a holiday to Poland in the near future.”
Another added: “There was no need to say what she said.” A BBC statement said: “We have received complaints about comments made by Arlene.

The dance floor romance on Strictly Come Dancing
has been outed on-screen by host Tess Daly.
She let the cat out of the bag about Matt Di Angelo and Flavia Cacace when she remarked on their obvious chemistry.
The news comes as show sources have revealed Flavia has split with dance champ Vincent Simone after TV Biz told how their relationship was on the rocks.
Tess shocked the couple on Saturday night’s live show as they prepared to perform the rumba – the dance of love – when she said: “That should be a walk in the park for you two!” Then she kept making remarks about the couple’s flirting.
TV Biz recently caught EastEnder Matt and dance pro Flavia cosying up over coffee – but they deny anything is going on.
An insider told TV Biz: “It’s obvious to everyone on set – and the viewers – that something is happening between them.”

Hi everyone!
Well, week nine and our lovable Scot, Kenny, has bitten the Ballroom dust. Despite two hugely impressive performances, despite him being possibly the most improved dancer in the competition, it was Kenny and Ola’s turn to face the music and dance for the judges against Letitia and Darren. After nine triumphant weeks, during which the person most blown away by his new sense of rhythm was Kenny himself, Saturday was their time to leave.
As the joker of the pack, he will definitely be missed by the rest of the gang, particularly by Gethin and Matt who saw him as a bit of a mentor/ father figure (Matt affectionately called him ‘Gramps’). Ahh, as our Brucie would say, ’shame!’ Later Ola said she could not have hoped for a better partner, and that Kenny is like a brother to her now. Right, I’m getting a bick sick of people lamenting over Gethin not being in the final over Matt. Matt deserves to be in the final! He performed every week and Gethin only came out of his shell not that long a go.
Also, Matt has that extra something special when he dances and personally I just don’t feel it with Gethin. So if I see one more person on T.V (Gethin and Camilla included) saying that Gethin should have got through, well….I’ll write another rant!!
Right now I’m all calm, who do you want to win Strictly Come Dancing 2007? Lovely Alesha or gorgeous Matt?

The Ramps returns 2007-12-21 04:16:00

Mark Ramprakash has been back in training with his partner Karen ahead of this year’s Christmas special.
And despite not having danced together for a year, the couple still have that chemistry that was so apparent in their training sessions.
‘Mark hasn’t changed at all, in the slightest,’ says Karen. ‘It feels like we’ve slipped into the same relationship as before and that’s the magical chemistry. Once he’s working hard that’s when the team gels and we’re up and running again.’
‘Even though Mark and I haven’t danced for a year now it was a surprise to see I can still read his facial expressions. When he goes quiet I’m thinking ‘oh no here comes Scrooge, Mr Grumpy’. And then you see a little sparkle in his eye and that means he’s absolutely loving what he’s doing. And when he brings out the big smile then I’ve made magic!’

Matt Di Angelo has been talking nine to the dozen about how wonderful it is to be recognised as Matt Di Angelo, suave star of Strictly Come Dancing, rather than Deano Wicks, his less dashing soap opera alter ego.
“EastEnders has been great for me, but it’s fantastic to have people coming up clapping me on the back and recognising me for myself,” he says.
A few moments later he is accosted by a starstruck fan, who wants an autograph.
As he signs, and she simpers, she asks him what his future career plans are.
He mutters: “Not sure yet. I’m just concentrating on Strictly Come Dancing at the minute.”
“Oh, are you in that?” comes the response. Ouch. Still, she must be about the only female in the country who doesn’t know that Matt Di Angelo is now more than “that bloke off EastEnders”.

Well l I have to say I am sooo pleased that my favourite Matt made it through to the final, I think he is capable of great dancing when he doesn’t let his nerves get the better of him.
After a shaky Argentine Tango, Matt took the bull by the horns and whisked Flavia around the dancefloor in a gorgeous waltz.
I don’t know about you, but I was watching that dance from behind a cushion I was so tense! It was even worse than Doctor Who episode.

Alesha Dixon is feeling sexy. She’s single, dating again and favourite to win the BBC’s ballroom battle when it ends next week.
It’s a great boost to her selfesteem - something she desperately needed after the break-up of her marriage to British rap star MC Harvey.
“Dancing makes you feel really sexy,” she says, with a wicked laugh. “I call it foreplay without the finale. When you’re dancing with somebody all day and spending that much time up close together, it makes you feel very sexual.
“You’re more flirty than you would normally be and I’ve definitely become a very flirty person since I started doing the show.”
Only 12 months ago Alesha was left devastated by her marriage split - but now she has turned her life around and is in the mood to celebrate.

Woohoo! Matt di Angelo and Alesha Dixon have made it through to the final of Strictly Come Dancing
2007!
In tonight’s dramatic results show Alesha was saved by the public vote, reducing her to tears and disbelief.
Close mates Matt and Gethin faced the dreaded dance-off to fight for their place in the final.
Matt danced his perfect scoring waltz and Gethin his argentine tango; both danced brilliantly.

Arlene - Gethin (shocker as I thought she favoured Matt!)

So, Matt and Alesha are through to next week’s final and have to dance a staggering five dances including a show-stopping show dance.

Semi-final round up, didn’t they do well?! 2007-12-15 13:25:49
The scores:
1. Alesha Dixon and Matthew Cutler - 76
2. Matt Di Angelo and Flavia Cacace - 75
3. Gethin Jones and Camilla Dallerup - 70
Wow, didn’t they all do so well. I was a bit disappointed with the Argentine Tangos but after Mark Ramprakash’s last year I doubt anyone could top that!
Matt put his demons to rest and after a slightly shaky start with his Argentine Tango, he wowed everyone with a PERFECT Waltz earning him four tens and a personal standing ovation from Len!
We knew you could do it Matt!
Alesha was also amazing and I loved her Argentine Tango and her Quickstep, even though the judges said something was missing from the former.
Gethin was also brilliant although looked a little disappointed with the judges comments and scores on both his Paso and his Argentine Tango, but he still danced amazingly.
I really think it’s too close to call as to who is going out tonight (oh alright BBC tomorrow).

Obviously I am massively disappointed and upset for Matt and Flavia as I wanted them to win but Alesha and Matthew did deserve it as well and Alesha is an amazing dancer.
Both show dances blew me away! Matt and Flavia performed a stunning dance: it was like a cha cha cha with amazing lifts and mind-blowing choreography and a one-handed lift! They should have won on that dance.
Alesha and Matthew’s show dance was also amazing with some gorgeous lifts and fast moving choreography with elements of the tango and paso doble.
The air was electric with anticipation as Tess and Bruce revealved who had won!
All in all this has been an amazing series and an amazing final and although I will never quite get over Matt losing, I am extremely happy that Alesha and Matthew won.

Well the Strictly Come Dancing final 2007 is well underway and we are now halfway through the evening. What do you think so far?
I think both Matt and Alesha have really performed well this evening, but I think Matt has slightly out-performed Alesha (and that’s not just because he’s my favourite!).
So far Matt has performed an American Smooth, Salsa and wicked Quickstep with some kick-ass fancy tap moves at the beginning of the routine.
Alesha has performed a Waltz, Cha Cha Cha and a jive.
Thankfully Matt hasn’t forgotten any steps and Alesha is living up to all our expectations.
