Strictly all over for Kate 2007-11-19 07:59:54 Source: dailymail.co.uk
GMTV presenter Kate Garraway has defended herself after being kicked off Strictly Come Dancing.
After a poor final performance, which she blamed on yet another injury, Garraway said: “We’ve had our fun, but now we can see some cracking dancing”.
The GMTV presenter said she was heading to a physiotherapist after she fell during rehearsals on Friday and spent Saturday-morning having treatment for a back injury before going on with the show.
Garraway, 38, had managed to stay in the programme after a series of disastrous performances, winning over viewers while fighting off fierce criticism from the panel.
Speaking on GMTV today, she said she hurt her back trying a paso doble with partner Anton du Beke.
“We were trying to be dramatic, but we were so dramatic we ended up in casualty,” she said, adding that it was good to see only good dancers left.

Kate is finally out of Strictly Come Dancing 2007-11-19 07:55:48
It finally happened, Kate Garraway has been voted off Strictly Come Dancing
. It has been a long time coming but she gave it her all and she should be applauded for that. I thought her Paso was actually quite good and the way she holds her tongue against the judges is amazing. I would have knocked them out by now!
Kate was in the bottom two with John Barnes (who’s days are numbered surely) and all four judges voted to keep Barnes in; surprise surprise!
The competition is now on with some fantastic dancers left in the race….and Kenny.
Strictly Come Dancing Week 7 round-up 2007-11-19 07:51:29 Well what a night it was on Saturday! All the dances were fabulous in their own way and Alesha scored two tens from the judges; one from Arlene and one from Bruno. She really deserved it her dance was magical!
I though Kelly’s jive was absolutely great and she really went for it; although Brendan always scares me in the jive as his legs look like they’re going to attack someone!
Kenny was disappointing and I thought the judges were right, he did not have enough content in that cha cha cha.
Matt was back on top form (shame about the slip). The quickstep is one of my favourites so I was happy he was dancing to that.
I didn’t love Letitia’s dance even though she is one of my favourites. She looked a bit stiff to me but I’m happy she’s through to fight another day.
I felt really sorry for Gethin, and even though I agree with the judges comments I still think he’s great. I have to say he looked a lot more passionate in the rehearsal footage so maybe Read more:Dancing

Kelly is determined for next week 2007-11-27 11:09:55 Source: BBC
Kelly has spoken of her determination to win over the judges this week after finding herself in the dance-off last Saturday.
‘It’s a real shock to be in the bottom two,’ she said. ‘The judges were right. I have to prioritise and make sure Strictly Come Dancing comes first. I knew I hadn’t done enough training.’
‘This week, I am just getting ready to work. It’s back to square one. The competition is back on.’
But Kelly has also revealed that she’s not as confident as she may appear. ‘I’ve never done Latin or Ballroom. I’m not a performer in that respect,’ she said. ‘I get such terrible stage fright. I walk around like I’m confident but I’m terrified.’
‘I want to stay in this competition. I would feel that I I’ve let myself down. I’ve so much more to show people.’
Meanwhile, Brendan has revealed that he found that the group dance affected their Read more:determined
Tess talks about Strictly Come Dancing 2007-11-27 11:09:47 Source: BBC
Strictly brilliant! I tell you what, like everybody else it seems, I am so loving this series of Strictly. It’s just so unpredictable.
This week again we saw it all. The drama, what with Kelly being in the bottom two with the judges and finding herself in the dance-off, Brendan’s first near tantrum amid his protests that they had only trained for a mere eight hours. My question is then why not train longer? Alesha and Matt trained a whopping 27 hours this week - and it showed. But the judges saved them and Kelly lived to dance another week.
So alas, we bid a very fond farewell to John Barnesy Barnes. Despite his hip-swivelling, party-starting Samba it failed to ignite the public vote. It’s strange because all day John had been saying that he was going. He was almost saying his goodbyes to us all – he had this feeling that it was his turn and he didn’t have his usual sparkle about him. He was still laughing and joking with us all – he was the joke Read more:Dancing
Alesha is go go go 2007-11-27 11:07:11
Despite receiving three 10s on Saturday, Alesha says she already feels like she’s won having met dance partner Matt and is devastated the competition’s drawing to a close.
‘Strictly for me is like being on holiday,’ she said. ‘I love it – it’s when I go home that it’s really crap. Being blatantly honest there are other things in my life that are stressful, there’s nothing in this competition that is stressing me. I love every part of it. I wake up and look forward to training. I love Matt, I have a passion for dance, raising money, learning dances, having fun. I feel very grateful, in terms of the competition.’
‘This week I’m gonna work harder than any other week. There are only four weeks until the end. Not long before I’m not dancing with Mattå that makes me feel sad. I can’t imagine it stopping. That’s poo. That’s depressing. That’s what I’m not happy about, not being with Matt!
Kenny feels proud 2007-11-27 11:04:10 Source: BBC
Still reeling from his incredible one-arm lift on Saturday night with dance partner Ola, Kenny
has revealed there is another important milestone coming up for him this week. When I heard I was through I thought about one of my goals, my mum’s birthday,’ he said. ‘1 December, I wanted to get there.’
Kenny has given himself a few targets throughout the competition, including the decision to wear a kilt during the Paso Doble in week 5. ‘After week 5 I hadn’t thought about goals,’ he said. ‘But I don’t want to get knocked out on my mum’s birthday.’
Kenny has also revealed that he was incredibly nervous ahead of the lifts on Saturday’s show, despite making them look easy. ‘The rehearsals were rubbish due to Ola’s dress, she was slipping, so I was worried about the lifts. During the rehearsal I got a few things wrong.’
‘Making SCD history with a one-arm lift was amazing. It was hard to
Gethin can’t pull Camilla 2007-11-26 12:18:15 Source: icwales.co.uk
Blue Peter hunk Gethin
Jones says he’s still young, free and single despite being joined at the hip to his Strictly Come Dancing partner Camilla
Dallerup.
The 29-year-old presenter has set tabloid tongues wagging since wowing the judges on the hit BBC1 show every Saturday with his Danish dance beauty.
Last week millions of viewers saw gorgeous Gethin treat Camilla to a night on the tiles in London as they prepared to take to the floor.
But despite being encouraged to ask Camilla out on a date by his mum, Cardiff bachelor boy Gethin insists the pair’s relationship is Strictly professional.

Bruno lets it all out 2007-11-27 10:58:05 Source: thesun.co.uk
Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno
Tonioli took off his gloves yesterday to rap the show’s stars.
The 52-year-old said Kate Garraway was a “disaster” and that Brendan Cole would “s***w anything that moves”.
And Bruno pulled no punches as he blasted stars from rival show I’m a Celebrity . . . as “zombies and desperate no-hopers”.
Spilling the beans on the Beeb’s top-rated telly show, the outrageous Italian told The Sun: “If this was an international ballroom competition, none of the celebrities would stand a chance.”
In an exclusive no-holds-barred interview, Bruno:
MOANED he had no sex life;
BLASTED popular GMTV presenter Kate Garraway as a “disaster”;
SALUTED Brendan Cole’s ways with the ladies;
LUSTED after Blue Peter celeb Gethin Jones; and
SLAMMED uptight judge Craig Revel Horwood as needing “laxatives”.

Strictly Come Dancing whoops X Factor 2007-11-26 12:14:39 Source: thesun.co.uk
X Factor was again thrashed by Strictly Come Dancing
in the ratings war on Saturday night.
Bruce Forsyth’s BBC show was watched by an average 9.3million viewers. But its ITV rival trailed behind - managing about 8.8million.
And when the pair went head to head, Strictly was up by as much as 3.3MILLION. The programme peaked at 10.3million towards the end of the show, as viewers tuned in to see stunning Kelly Brook beat ex-footie star John Barnes in a dance-off.
But X Factor beat that - peaking at 10.9million after Strictly finished and viewers changed channels.
Kelly says Billy is romantic, well she would 2007-11-26 12:11:37 Source: dailyexpress.co.uk
Kelly Brook is used to being whisked off her feet, and not just on the dancefloor.
The Strictly Come Dancing star reports that American fiancé Billy
Zane is prone to extravagant gestures of love and once filled her entire garden with flowers.
The 28-year-old actress and model, who met the Titanic star in 2004 while filming Three, adores the surprises that Billy organises for her.
“He’s really romantic
,” Kelly gushes. “Once, I woke up at 3am and my whole garden was filled with buckets of roses. And there was a record player playing Chet Baker. I’d really wanted a record player, and he’d found one for me.”
The former Big Breakfast presenter admits, though, that being so in love has made her go a little loopy.
“Love is like a form of madness – it makes you slightly crazier,” she says.
“It makes me go out of my way to do things for people I’d never normally do.”
Kelly and Brendan fight, obviously 2007-11-26 12:07:18 Source: thehollywoodnews.co.uk
It looks like Strictly Come Dancing star Brendan Cole has landed himself in a bit of hot water with his dance partner Kelly Brook. It seems that the young actress/ model is upset with Cole, allegedly accusing him of not being committed to the show. Apparently they have had a series of fight
s after Cole came into rehearsals with a hangover.
A source told the Daily Star Sunday: “Kelly really wants to win. She has openly admitted that she is incredibly competitive and is putting in all the effort she can. But she doesn’t think Brendan is putting in the same effort.”
“They have had a couple of blazing fights because Brendan arrived late a few times still smelling of alcohol. Brendan is notorious for going out and making the most of his celebrity status but Kelly is worried that it could cost them the crown.” The insider added. Read more:obviously
Alesha sparkles again 2007-11-26 08:47:43
On Saturday night Alesha Dixon got three tens and pulled off an amazing performace of a cha cha cha. She was dancing to a great song, Crazy in Love, by Beyonce, which I’m sure helped her cause.
How important are the songs that the celebs dance to?
I think they can make or break the voting sometimes. Matt di Angelo also had a great song and we all know how good he was.
Any thoughts?

John Barnes is out, Kelly in bottom 2! 2007-11-25 13:40:35 Tonight’s results I thought were very fair, with John Barnes
being booted off Strictly Come Dancing after being in the bottom two on three occassions.
The shock (or perhaps not?) of the night was Kelly Brook and Brendan Cole were also in the bottom two and had to dance for survival and the judges votes. Luckily they did get the judges votes.
All four judges saved them after their lacklustre and frankly below par Samba. That may seem harsh but yes, Kelly has set herself a standard so it’s natural for people to expect more.
I’m sure this will give her a kick up the bum and she will work so hard for next week.
Next week the dancers will have to perform two dances per week; this should really sort out the good, the bad and the ugly…and Kenny.
Not really..we love Kenny!
OMG What a night! 2007-11-25 12:23:46 Well what a night! Matt was absolutely amazing a took my breath away with his amazing Salsa! He was rewarded with two tens, one from Arlene and one from Bruno!
Alesha was fantastic and did her best dance yet, a sexy cha cha cha (dancing to Beyonce Crazy in Love) and got three tens!
What a disapointment for Kelly and Brendan, they are second to last on the leader board with only 29 points.
I think John Barnes will be going home tomorrow as I don’t think Kenny will be in the bottom two and I think the judes will vote him out over the other dancers.
Points tonight
Alesha & Matthew, cha cha cha: 39 points (9, 10, 10, 10)
Matt & Flavia, Salsa: 38 points (9, 10, 9, 10)
Gethin & Camilla, Quickstep: 34 points
Letitia & Darren, Viennese Waltz: 32 points
Kenny & Ola, American Smooth: 30 points
Kelly & Brendan, Samba: 29 points
John & Nicole, Samba: 27 points
Strictly flat Samba for Kelly 2007-11-25 07:41:41 Source: dailymail.co.uk
After weeks of being the favourite on Stricly Come Dancing, Kelly Brook’s samba led to the most heated exchange yet between her dance partner Brendan Cole and the show’s judges.
Birthday girl Brook looked shell-shocked as Cole refused to accept the judges’ criticisms over poor choreography - which Bruno Tonioli likened to “having Judi Dench and getting her to read the Yellow Pages”.
They achieved their lowest score of the series with 28 (ironically Brook’s new age), placing them in the bottom two and only managing to beat John Barnes and Nicole Cutlers’ samba by one point.
In the end it was left to the show’s venerable presenter Bruce Forsythe to break-up the argument and inform everyone that he was in “charge and I haven’t said that for 40 years”.
“Honestly my high expectations have fallen on a flat balloon,” said Arlene Phillips.

Kenny is out, Letitia in bottom two of Strictly Come Dancing 2007-12-03 04:26:24
Last night on Strictly Come DancingKenny
Logan got voted off as Letitia saw her self saved by the judges for the second time this series.
Kenny was the weakest dancer left in the competition, but he brought entertainment to the show and always put in so much work and has really improved as a dancer.
Letitia found herself struggling this week as she had the flu and two fast dances to learn. It was somewhat inevitable that she would be in the dance-off. She survived though and hopefully she spent all day yesterday in bed with a lemsip recouperating and ready to go for this week’s dances!
Only four left now!
Strictly Come Dancing the fight to the final is on! 2007-12-02 11:37:31 Source: Daily Mail
He was criticised last week for “lacking fire” but Gethin Jones astounded the Strictly Come Dancing
judges by emerging as the favourite to face Alesha Dixon in the show’s final.
Now that her nearest rival Kelly Brook has pulled out of the show due to her father’s death on Monday, it should have been plain sailing for Dixon who has consistently danced off with the top marks.
However it being week nine, the pressure was turned up a notch for all the competitors with the remaining five couples having to perform two new dances.
Surprisingly, it was the Blue Peter presenter and partner Camilla Dallerup who stole the limelight with their “graceful” waltz which earned them 39 points.

Hmmm tonight fell a little flat, to be expected? 2007-12-01 17:33:20
Evening all.
Well, for me, tonight fell a little
flat after the thrills and spills of last Saturday night. What do you think? Matt looked like he was going to cry after his tango; and did you see him whisper to Flavia as they finished the dance “I’m so sorry I’m so sorry”?
That leads me to beleive that he messed up the steps and I’m not sure he recovered from that. I actually really liked Matt’s performances, but after last week my expectations were high. Fingers crossed he gets through; he has real talent.
Poor Letitia! Throwing up between dances, shaking in front of the judges and Tess because of her flu-what a nightmare for her. She did her best during a difficult time, and I’m sure if she comes back next week (will she be in the bottom two?) then she’ll do really well.
Now Kenny, I actually really enjoyed his performances this eveing and thought he showed great character and improvement. I loved his rumba, and thought he acted it rea

He has ‘the grace of a vacuum cleaner’. So why does Kenny

Shame on you, friends of Gabby
Logan.
Where were you in her hour of need?
The tragic heroine of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing - voted off in the early stages, even though she was actually rather good - might be taking the red pen to her Christmas card list this year.
Her husband Kenny - the former Scottish rugby international who has defied all the odds to stay in the cult dance show, despite having all the grace of a tipsy polar bear - reveals that Gabby was woefully let down when she was booted off after the public vote.
“Some of her friends voted for me that week,” he admits sheepishly.
“Afterwards, they said: ‘But Kenny, we thought you needed all the help you could get.’
“Some even admitted that they had voted for Kate Garraway - because they felt sorry for her.&rdq Read more:tells
Kelly quits Strictly Come Dancing 2007-11-30 10:04:24 Kelly Brook has decided to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing
, following the death of her father on Monday night. Initially Kelly wanted to stay in the competition, according to close friends, but obviously it will just be too hard for her, which is completely understandable.
The BBC has released the following statement:
‘Sadly Kelly Brook has taken the decision to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing following the loss of her father this week.
‘Kelly has done some training as she had hoped to continue with the show in his memory. However, understandably she has found it too difficult.’
Kelly has been a fantastic part of the programme and she will be sorely missed by everyone on the show who would also like to express their deepest sympathy to Kelly and her family at this difficult time.
Kelly Brook’s management has also released the following statement:
‘Kelly Brook has decided to withdraw from Strictly Come Dancing to be with her family following the death o

It is what Ken, 57, would have wanted, her spokesman said yesterday.
The model vowed to continue with the BBC show in honour of her dad, who died peacefully at home in Rochester, Kent, on Monday evening.
Her publicist said: “Kelly will continue her work commitments to the best of her ability as her father Kenneth Parsons would have wanted.”

Alesha and Matt have been upping the ante this week, training for 12 hours yesterday to master two dances ahead of Saturday’s show.
‘The day started at 10am, we have had three training sessions, so double what we normally do,’ says Alesha. ‘There are stumbling blocks all the time. You find that last bit of energy. If I have to stay late then I will.’
And Matt’s more than happy to put in the hours. ‘I feel Alesha’s working me hard, but my job is to make her achieve,’ he says. ‘Maybe 10am until 10pm is too much, but I will support her all the way. If she wants to call me in the middle of the night to ask me about a step then I would be quite happy.’
The couple are also reeling from seeing Kelly and Brendan in the dance-off. ‘It’s finally hitting home that we can be at the top of the leader board and then be in the bottom two,’ says Matt.

Kelly Brook’s father has passed away 2007-11-28 13:21:20 It’s with much regret that I write that Kelly Brook’s father, Kenneth has passed
away, aged 57, after a long battle with cancer. The Sun reports he died “peacefully at home” on Monday night.
Sources close to Kelly say she’s not sure if she will be able to perform on this Saturday’s show.

Letitia is oldest Strictly Come Dancer 2007-11-29 13:02:11 Source: BBC
Despite being only 40, Letitia says she’s finding it a challenge being the oldest person left in the competition.
‘My energy levels aren’t the same, but I’m getting fitter,’ she says. ‘I’m the fittest I’ve ever been.’
‘When I first started, I felt like a poor relation to Alesha and Kelly, but we’ve all got our place in the competition. I’ve never been one to go clubbing, and hip action doesn’t come naturally to me.’
However, the former EastEnder says the main advantage of being older is that it encourages the audience to give dancing a go. ‘It makes it more accessible for the older people,’ she says. ‘Any age can do it.’
Letitia has also revealed her determination to master the Latin. ‘I do feel more comfortable with the Ballroom,’ she says. ‘I think there’s something graceful about Ballroom. Alesha makes it look contemporary though. I enjoy i Read more:Dancer
Strictly Come Socking for Gethin 2007-11-28 05:48:02 Source: thesun.co.uk
Stricly Come Dancing star Gethin
Jones has revealed fans send him begging letters — for his DIRTY SOCKS.
Gethin, 29, said he was embarrassed by the demands.
The Blue Peter presenter said: “People keep writing asking for my socks — and they insist they are used.”
He also admitted members of the public often mistake him for T4 presenter and fellow Welshman Steve Jones.
And Gethin said supermarket staff regularly advise him how to win the BBC dancing show with his partner, Danish beauty Camilla Dallerup, 33.
He said: “I get random things like some guy stopping me in Sainsbury’s and saying ‘I thought your hips were great, but you need to follow the movement of your body’.”
