Saturday night week 3 round up 2007-10-22 10:45:29
Well wasn’t it a great show on Saturday
night? Apart from the fact that after every dance I had to text my mum and sister a summary as they were on holiday!
I think Alesha really stood out…again! Also I really enjoyed Gabby and John’s dance and I was shocked to see him in the bottom two.
I didn’t think Kelly’s dance was as good as the judges made out, but that’s just my opinion! I thought Gethin looked like a robot and he needs to get some personality and I thought Kate improved this week.
Matt di Angelo blew me away this week and I was so tense when he forgot his moves, but he recovered well didn’t he?!
So this week my favourite is Matt! Read more:round
Tess backs Gethin 2007-11-02 09:05:28 Source: PA
Tess Daly has revealed she thinks Blue Peter presenter Gethin
Jones might be the surprise winner of this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The 36-year-old, who presents the ballroom show alongside veteran host Bruce Forsyth, said: “I think Gethin’s a dark horse, and historically it’s always a transformation story, so I think Gethin could surprise a lot of people. His hips have come out of nowhere!”
Speaking on the red carpet at the National TV Awards, Tess also praised her co-presenter Bruce, who turns 80 next year.
“How can you have more energy than someone half your age - it’s incredible!” she said.
But Tess revealed she gets stick for her little dance routine with Bruce, which kicks off the show - from her Radio 1 DJ husband Vernon Kay.
“He’s always telling me off for that little dance, saying ‘you’re tripping up again’. Bruce always manages to tread on my toes and if I tread on his toes, it’s

Gabby
Logan may have all the right moves, but she put her over-eager foot in it during ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, says Noam Friedlander. In the shocking moment that Gabby Logan was told she was the latest competitor to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing she stood immobile, staring into the distance.
Fellow competitor Penny Lancaster Stewart tried to reach for her hand, but Logan’s only response was: “I don’t want to cry… I felt I had a lot more to give.” Professional to the last, she refused to shed a tear, even when her husband came out to comfort her.
Oh Gabby, if only you had. Did no one tell you that the rules of conduct on SCD are just as strict as the steps of the samba?
Did you not know that any appearance by a celebrity on a reality TV show is all about the “journey” of the underdog - and, more important, that nobody loves the top dog?
Logan’s fate was probably sealed in the first week, when she dance
Strictly Come Dancing saved me says Barnes 2007-11-02 09:00:08 Source: dailyrecord.co.uk
Former footballer John Barnes
has revealed how Strictly Come Dancing
could have saved
his life.
The ex-Celtic boss piled on the pounds due to a love of junk food.
Barnes, left, would feast on McDonald’s meals, Burger King snacks, KFC and Indian takeaways.
He only decided to slim and boot out the fatty grub when he started training for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing - before he had recent tests which showed he was “genetically inclined” to heart disease.
Barnes, 43, who has four daughters, has been criticised for his weight by some of the show’s judges.
But the ex-striker said: “Before the show I’d have takeaways all the time and it was giving me a belly.
“I found it hard to drive past a fast food restaurant without stopping to eat.
“My lifestyle worried me, but the results of it worried me even more. Exercise and diet were a big reason to take part in Strictly.”
Holiday now I’m back and what a week! 2007-11-02 08:41:53
Many apologies I have been away and neglecting vital SCD news; but fear not I am back and ready to go.
I though Matt and Flavia were outstanding so they are my favourite this week! He is really coming along and I think he may be in with a chance of winning.
Although as I watched It Takes Two the other day with Kelly and Brendan I wonder just what they will do to win; they clearly want it so much! Read more:Holiday
Saturday night week 4 2007-11-02 08:40:04
Well the dancing was fantastic this week and I really enjoyed the show as always! Penny and Gabby in the bottom two…what a shocker!
For me I think Dominic and Kenny should have been in the bottom two, but that’s just the way it goes.
I think we all knew that the judges were going to keep Penny in, what with her rock star husband and all; and yes she is a great dancer.
I wonder who’ll be in the bottom two next week; Alesha and Kelly? Let’s hope not! Read more:Saturday
Strictly Come Dancing is mockery says champ ooh get you 2007-11-07 06:10:12 Source: dailymail.co.uk
Last year’s Strictly Come Dancingchamp
ion Mark Ramprakash has claimed judges have turned this year’s show into a ‘mockery’.
The popular cricketer launched stinging attack over the failure to clamp down on rule-breaking in the show.
He claimed that the judge’s failure to punish illegal moves by dancers was undermining the entire series.
Ramprakash, 38, singled out colourful judge Bruno Tonioli for criticism claiming he had lost “credibility” over his antics in this year’s show.
His anger comes after partners Kelly Brook and Brendan Cole carried out an illegal move on the show, but were not punished by judges.
They put an extra lift into their American Smooth routine over a week ago, but still got full marks from Tonioli and high scores from the others.
Then contestant Kenny Logan said he was going to break rules as well as he would not be punished.

Anton splits with girlfriend chin up Anton! 2007-11-07 06:06:36 Source: dailymail.co.uk
Kate Garraway’s Strictly Come Dancing partner Anton
du Beke has split with his girlfriend, it was revealed. The dancer and pretty radio and TV presenter Caroline Feraday have gone their separate ways after nearly a year as a couple.
Anton’s real name is Tony Beak, and he won’t reveal his true age - saying it is somewhere between 29 and 45 - so there’s little chance of getting the full story out of him.
But a source said: “Anton is a single man now but is sad about splitting with Caroline.”

Dom lashes out poor thing 2007-11-05 08:55:40 Source: mirror.co.uk
Dominic Littlewood has accused Strictly Come Dancing judges of rigging the show - by deciding their scores before the celebs have even set foot on the dancefloor.
The 42-year-old, who became the fifth dancer to be booted off after scoring just 25 points for his paso doble on Saturday’s show, fumed: “Judges do have their favourites there.
“Out of those four there’s only one who talks sense and that’s Len Goodman.
“He doesn’t try to give cheap shots at people just to get a reaction.
“With the other three, (Arlene Phillips, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood) I believe they watch dress rehearsals and they decide their vote there and then, and their comments.
“There’s no way they come out with those comments off the cuff. We’re all fairly certain that’s what goes on, which makes it a bit of a farce.”

Dom and John are bottom and Dom is outta here! 2007-11-05 08:53:38
Well it was Dom and John in the bottom two and I can’t say I’m surprised and I certainly wasn’t surprised that the judges voted Dominic off; they really had it in for him!
God forbid he had…opinions!
He was a broken man on that show and I don’t blame him, not one of those judges gave him an ounce of support.
We still love you Dominic!
Saturday night week 5 2007-11-05 08:48:59
Another fantastic show and there were some really good dances tonight! I was very impressed with Kate Garraway’s improvement and I thought she did herself proud.
Once again I didn’t like Kelly’s dance and thought they overdid it a little bit; does she think she’s a professional already?
Alesha was brilliant as usual and I thought she outshone all the other girls.
I was happy to see Letitia holding back those nerves and producing a really great dance;p she is getting better isn’t she?
Now Gethin…how may times do I have to say get some personality!
As always Matt was amazing and my favourite of the week. He has got class. Read more:Saturday
Kenny backs his wife obviously 2007-11-03 11:18:14 Source: mirror.co.uk
Loyal Kenny
Logan has vowed to dance his socks off for wife Gabby on Strictly tonight.
The Scottish rugby star was devastated to see his missus booted off last week and even offered to give up his place to let her back on the dancefloor. Now that disappointment has turned into determination.
Kenny, 35, who dances the paso doble tonight, says: “This one is dedicated to Gabby and her dance partner James Jordan. It’s also for the public who have phoned up to keep me in.”
Gabby will be there cheering him on - and Kate Garraway, too. In fact, she has tipped both Kenny and Kate to make the final.
Talking of the last six days Kenny admits: “It has been really emotional. The last time I felt like this was my last game for Scotland in the 2003 World Cup.” He has also missed having Gabby at rehearsals, saying: “I feel like half of me has disappeared. And I know it’s going to be tough tonight without her backstage.”

Kate is in but is it right? 2007-11-12 05:22:39 Source: Daily Mail
To the consternation of the judges, Kate Garraway proved once again last night that you can’t keep a bad dancer down. For the second week in a row, the experts gave her the worst marks of all the competitors in BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing.
And for the second week in a row, when it came to the public vote she was spared the axe.
Instead it was Rod Stewart’s 36-year-old wife Penny Lancaster who was given her marching orders after the vote left her involved in a dance-off with EastEnder Matt Di Angelo, 17.
One of the judges, Craig Revel Horwood, said it was “criminal” that they had ended up in the bottom two.
Miss Garraway, 39, a presenter on GMTV, had been given only 18 points out of a possible 40 for her “stompy” salsa performance on Saturday night.
But once again the GMTV host has defied the odds, and watched from the sidelines as another more accomplished dancer was voted off the competition.
As devastated Penny Lancaster
Penny is out 2007-11-12 05:18:54
Well well well, what a shocker! The lovely Penny
Lancaster made a shock exit from Strictly Come Dancing last night after she was voted into the dance-off with Eastender’s star Matt di Angelo. Penny and Matt both looked stricken as they received the news that they were in the bottom two, especially since two-left feet Kate Garraway was saved by the public yet again.
Craig Revel Horwood, said it was “criminal” that they had ended up in the bottom two.
Penny danced the Salsa and Matt danced the Viennese Waltz. Craig, Bruno and Len all voted for Matt, whilst Arlene voted to save Penny. Penny burst into tears saying it wwas “obvious” she was going to cry and said that she was honoured to have taken part in the show.
Saturday night week 6 round-up 2007-11-11 10:34:22
Once again Strictly Come Dancing was brilliant to watch with a mixture of gorgeous Viennese Waltz’s and some rather scary salsas!
Well done to Gethin for his brilliant Viennese Waltz, he fully deserves to be joint top of the leader board. As always I enjoyed wathcing the lovely Alesha and thought she should have scored more points for her energetic salsa.
As for Kate, Penny and unfortunately, Letitia; well…what can I say? I love Letitia but I think something didn’t connect for her last night with her salsa. let’s hope she’s not in the bottom two.
I watched Kate’s salsa from behind a cushion and as for Penny….I was gobsmacked!Who do you think is out tonight then? Find out at 6.45pm on BBC1!

Saturday night is fight night 2007-11-10 07:57:07 Tonight Strictly Come Dancing airs at 6pm BBC 1 and I’m glad that it’s a little later this week as I won’t feel quite so guilty as I glug down my chilled white wine.
There is something slightly wrong with drinking before 6pm, maybe I’ll move to the Med and then I can drink in the morning.
Well tonight looks set to be a good one (as always) as now we are left with the cream of the crop, OK maybe not the cream, maybe the semi-skimmed milk of the crop - you know what I mean.
At this point in the competition us fans usually have a hardcore favourite that we will defend to the death - mine is Matt di Angelo, with Letitia coming a close second and I just love Alesha; my allegencies may change yet though.
It is interesting how people pick there favourites and how they are undoubtedly different to the couple you expected to favour.

Kelly yells at Brendan 2007-11-10 07:37:52 Source: thesun.co.uk
Kelly Brook had a furious row with Strictly Come Dancing partner Brendan Cole – because he forgot his steps.
Kelly, 27, let rip at professional dancer Brendan for being unable to remember the Viennese Waltz. A source said the sexy model, who is desperate to win the BBC1 competition, “went mad” at the Kiwi star during rehearsals for the BBC1 show tonight.
The source said: “She was tired after a long, hard week and she couldn’t believe he couldn’t remember the Viennese Waltz steps.
“He’s the professional after all. Kelly was screaming and shouting – and he gave as good as he got.”
The row on Thursday was caught on camera and is likely to feature on tonight’s show.
Tension has been building between the pair for weeks, with Kelly upset when Brendan, 31, said they were “definitely not” going to win.

Every underdog starts off as a puppy. Kate Garraway was a particularly boisterous one. The GMTV presenter was asked if she wanted to take part in Strictly Come Dancing just two days before filming began - rather suggesting she wasn’t at the top of the most-wanted list.
She was so thrilled, however, that she didn’t care. Instead, she bounded along to rehearsals with the sort of smile that makes her breakfast TV one look half-hearted.

Doing it for the boys 2007-11-10 07:32:46 Source: BBC
Kenny had a visit from a familiar face this week as Matt Dawson popped in to lend a hand. ‘I can’t quite believe we’re doing this!’ he said, standing next to fellow rugby player Kenny, who joked, ‘what does he know?! He’s just a man off the streets who’s come in!’ But Ola wasn’t laughing. ‘He was in the final, listen to him!’ she instructed.
John celebrated his birthday this week, but it was like any other day of training as far as he was concerned. ‘I’m 44 today, so I have to work harder to keep fitter,’ he explained. ‘But if it’d been my 25th Birthday today, I wouldn’t be here dancing!’
This week has been exhausting for Gethin as he tries to get to grips with their dance. ‘It’s flipping quick this dance!’ he cried, before falling to the floor. ‘I have an exhausted partner today, and dizzy - bad combination,’ Camilla said. ‘I didn&

Happy to be here, Kate has found her routine very difficult this week. ‘I feel very frustrated with myself and I get very stressed’ she told us. ‘I can’t get things right, it’s physically demanding, tiring and frustrating. I get cross with myself, then I just think, ‘come on Garraway, get a grip!’
Kelly too has been struggling this week, claiming ‘this is the hardest dance ever in all my life! If we had a bit more time it would be amazing - can we do it 100,000 more times?’ But Brendan is more confident. ‘Don’t panic about it, it’s only a dance,’ he told her.
It’s been an exhausting week for Penny and Ian, with Penny often collapsing to the floor after a complete run-through. ‘How could you do this for four hours?’ she exclaimed, ‘you’d die!’

Strictly Come Dancing Stud Matt 2007-11-17 06:34:00 Source: themirror.co.uk
Step aside Brendan Cole… there’s a new Strictly stud in town.
If the whispers on the dancefloor are to be believed, he’s leading no fewer than three gorgeous girls astray.
First, EastEnders hunk Matt di Angelo was linked with his former Walford co-star Louisa Lytton, 18, who took part in the last series of Strictly Come Dancing
. Next, he’s supposed to be doing off-screen tangos with this year’s hottest babe, Alesha Dixon, 29.
And this week, the rumour mill has 20-year-old Matt stealing his sexy dance partner Flavia Cacace from her real-life beau.
The pair were snapped touching hands in a cafe this week, prompting wild speculation the 27-year-old beauty had ditched long-term boyfriend, Latino dancer Vincent Simone, to shack up with Matt.

Strictly Boob Holding for Kelly 2007-11-17 06:28:48 Source: thesun.co.uk
Cheeky Brendan Cole offered to hold Kelly Brook’s boobs at Strictly Come Dancing rehearsals. Busty Kelly, 27, found her 30FF assets kept bouncing about during the notoriously energetic jive.
In a saucy exchange caught on a rehearsal video, she said: “I should wear a sports bra.” Brendan, 31, replied: “Want me to hold them?” A source said: “Kelly’s been wearing very tight costumes, but her boobs have been jiggling around.
“But I don’t think she’ll be taking Brendan up on his offer.” The Sun revealed that Kelly - engaged to actor Billy Zane, 41 - had to tell off Brendan when he kept getting aroused while dancing.
She ordered: “Can you have a **** before you dance with me?” Meanwhile, we’ll see flirty EastEnder Matt Di Angelo and his partner Flavia Cacace in action tonight.

Strictly Come Dancing are we ready!? 2007-11-17 06:22:45 Source:BBC
Alesha has found it hard to concentrate this week, often looking confused. At one point she said, ‘I feel like I’m being completely dragged around - I don’t know what I’m doing here, I’m just blagging it.’ But she’s still hoping to make her family proud. ‘I think my Nans will really appreciate this dance because it’s timeless.’
It’s been a frustrating week for Kenny too, as he’s struggled to grasp his routine. ‘I can’t do it!’ he told Ola. ‘You can,’ Ola insisted, ‘you’ve done it before!’ Ola has been counting out loud to try to help Kenny, and also suggested he watch her at the same time. ‘You’re no good to watch!’ Kenny joked.

He must be loving it! Now if you have ready many of my previous posts then you’ll know that I haven’t been a huge fan of Gethin because I thought he needed to put a lot more personality and heart into his dances. So, he has obviously taken my advice, hence the great dance last week!

Flavia tells all 2007-11-15 06:18:07 Source: dailymail.co.uk
Never mind the celebrities - it’s the professional dancers who are the brave souls on Strictly Come Dancing. At the start of each series, this elite group of world champions brace themselves to discover which novice they have been paired up with.
The lucky few find themselves cheek to cheek with a Natasha Kaplinsky or Mark Ramprakash and can be confident of getting round the dancefloor with minimum humiliation.
Others, however, find themselves with a Quentin Wilson or Fiona Phillips - condemned to slow, toe-crushing torture, or near strangulation, in front of the nation.
Last year was Flavia Cacace’s first experience of this lottery. When the two-time Argentine Tango world champion went to meet her allotted celeb - the man she had to turn into a nimblefooted Fred Astaire - she found herself in the arms of Jimmy Tarbuck.
