Pushy Penny
2007-09-30 04:48:26
Source: people.co.uk Penny Lancaster is running dance partner Ian Waite ragged in a bid to waltz to victory over rival Kelly Brook. Rod Stewart’s stunning blonde wife has been badgering Ian for extra practice time to make sure her Hot Legs triumph. Penny, 36, is desperate to upstage beautiful fans’ favourite Kelly, 27. She is being backed by Rod - a familiar face at her side in rehearsals. Penny and Ian want their first dance to be the hardest ever on the show. A BBC source said: “Penny is determined to be the best. Even when Ian stops she wants to carry on rehearsing.”

Letitia looks sad…again
2007-10-16 12:35:34
Poor Letitia Dean. After watching It Takes Two last night (Monday 16th October) I now feel well and truly sad for Letitia. I think she has lost all her confidence somewhere along the way and is struggling to get it back. It almost seemed like she was going to shed a tear or two on that couch. I think she feels low about her figure as compared to all the models and other women on the show whom she thinks are better looking than her; we’ve all been there people! I don’t know what you think but I think she has a lovely figure and a great personality and should lift up her chin and go for it! We’re behind you Letitia!

Kelly and Billy and Brendan oh my!
2007-10-16 12:29:05
The Sunday Mirror reports that Billy Zane could be a little bit worried about Kelly Brook getting close to lothario Brendan Cole! Apparently he was spotted spending in excess of £200 on sexy bras and pants in posh lingerie store Agent Provocateur in London’s Soho.

Gethin gets his work on
2007-10-16 12:15:40
There was no rest for Gethin after Saturday – he was straight back in the training room learning this week’s dance. Gethin was noticeably quiet during the lesson with Camilla commenting, ‘You’re very serious when you learn something new aren’t you. You can cut the atmosphere with a knife.’ Talking about this week’s dance, Camilla offered this advice: ‘This dance really needs to be passionate, its all in the look, its not a happy dance. Very much the man taking charge and the man leading.’ Gethin is happy with his choice of dance this week: ‘Bruno, Arlene, and Craig talked about passion and so you have to deliver that or there is no point turning up.’ ‘I feel more determined this week,’ he added. ‘It was an odd feeling when I got negative comments, it almost made me want to do the dance off to show them that I can do it. Bring it on, I really want to do it.’ Referring to his Blue Peter persona, Camilla

Strictly Stroppy Gabby
2007-10-15 07:17:52
Source: thesun.co.uk Stroppy Gabby Logan had to be comforted by her Mum when she did not top the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard. The sports presenter, 34, was devastated at coming fourth out of the seven girls — and infuriated by the judges’ comments. Arlene Philips told her and partner James Jordan: “The rumba should be like dancing on hot coals but it was a bit coals to Newcastle via Leeds.” After the main show, upset Gabby turned to her mum Christine Yorath and rugby star husband Kenny. But she could not be consoled and took her mum to her dressing room for more talks. A source said: “Gabby was sure she’d be first and couldn’t believe it when she got 29 out of 40. She was in a real strop.” Meanwhile, GMTV’s Kate Garraway, who has tendonitis, was saved in spite of her 15 points from the judges. Viewers put Dynasty star Stephanie Beacham and ex-EastEnder Letitia Dean in the bottom two instead, and the judges told Steph to go. The BBC1 show was watched

Penny puts on a few pounds
2007-10-15 07:13:35
Source: Now Magazine Penny Lancaster admits she’s actually gained weight as a result of the intense dance training she’s gone though for BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. Penny, 36, thought the show would be a great way to shed the extra pregnancy pounds she’s not been able to shift - but that hasn’t proved the case. ‘Before I started training I still hadn’t got back the figure I had before giving birth to my son Alastair nearly two years ago,’ she tells Sunday. But although the bathroom scales are showing an increase, 6ft 1in Penny feels taut and trim. ‘I’ve realised it’s because my body fat has gone down and my muscle, which is heavier, has increased,’ she explains. ‘I’ve now got muscles in places I’d forgotten about.’

See you later Stephanie!
2007-10-15 07:03:33
Well it’s goodbye to Stephanie , but she didn’t seem too unhappy about it did she? I think it was the right decision as it would have been a shame to see Letitia go in the second week; and I think nerves did get the better of her. I was expecting Gabby to be in the bottom two though. So, the bottom two this week were Letitia and Darren and Stephanie and Vincent. Were you surprised? All the judges apart from Arlene voted to keep Letitia and Darren in which I am very happy about! ‘Oh thank goodness!’ said Stephanie. ‘I have adored watching this hard work… I am so grateful to be let out of my misery.’

Get the party started on a Saturday night!
2007-10-13 13:50:19
Well then..what did you think? The wine has been flowing, the dances have been hot and I am now very excited about this competition! My firm favourite is Alesha! She was amazing; I think she will be fantastic in weeks to come and I think she shone through tonight. Kelly Brook- fair play. She had a lot of pressure on her tonight and she delivered. I thought it was a wonderful performance and she is well worth the hype…my boyfriend thought so as well. I feel sorry for Gabby as she looked crestfallen. She was clearly expecting better comments than that and I thought she was very good. Although she needs to chill out a bit! Letitia was obviously very nervous but did good all the same, and credit to Stephanie for her great effort! Penny was fabulous as expected, I’m very excited at seeing what she has to offer as the competition gets going. Poor poor Kate. We really have to take into account that she has probably had half the amount of practice as the others. I think that she W

Gabby ready to sparkle on the dancefloor
2007-10-13 11:12:57
Source: mirror.co.uk Watching your giggling wife collapse under the weight of her sexy dance tutor on national television could spell trouble for some marriages. But not TV sports presenter Gabby Logan’s. Because her husband Kenny’s next door - doing something similar with the wife of Gabby’s instructor. Fear not though, this is no sleazy version of Wife Swap. Gabby and Kenny are the first husband and wife team on Strictly Come Dancing. And as an added quirk, they’re partnered with husband and wife professionals James and Ola Jordan. Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mirror ahead of tonight’s “ladies” show, Gabby says: “We all work well together. Because James and Ola live outside of London we train at the same location so they can travel in together. “It’s been nice for the four of us to have coffee or go for lunch.” Mega-fit Gabby, whose background as a gymnast gives her a head-start in the flexibility stakes, is more c

Da da da dadadada da da da dada…da da da!
2007-10-13 07:36:04
Yes it’s that time again people; it’s Saturday, it’s Strictly Come Dancing time! With only 4 hours 45 minutes to go I wonder how nervous the girls are feeling now? It’s been a tough week for Kate, having lost so much rehearsal time, so there’s no time for laughs. ‘Do we have time for all this joviality?’ she asks Anton. ‘Come on let’s do it. No more fun please.’ Penny and Ian have been working very hard, often prompting Penny to lie in a starfish shape on the floor after a run through. ‘It’s like running the 100 metres!’ she said. Letitia has been getting to grips with the dance steps, and her partner by the sounds of things. ‘I want to squeeze his bum today, sorry Lilia, artistic licence!’ (more&hellip ;)

Strictly Alesha
2007-10-13 06:41:50
Source: thesun.co.uk With her endless legs and perfectly sculpted face, Alesha Dixon is wowing Strictly Come Dancing fans with her sexy moves. Last week the gorgeous singer impressed judges in a tiny, sparkly red dress and tonight she is set to dazzle with a raunchy rumba. The 29-year-old has even overtaken curvy Kelly Brook as bookies’ favourite to win the hit BBC1 show. Life couldn’t be much better. But just nine months ago Alesha’s world was blown apart by the revelation that her husband, So Solid Crew rapper MC Harvey, was having an affair with her pop star so-called pal Javine Hylton. It has been a long road to recovery for Alesha – but now she is getting the ultimate revenge by captivating millions of viewers with her moves and skimpy outfits on prime time Saturday night telly. When I point this out to the former singer with girl group Mis-teeq, she throws her head back and roars with laughter before saying: “There you go. Cool.” That’s not to say that Alesha is doi

Letitia laments!
2007-10-10 11:04:14
Source: bbc.co.uk Training has been a challenge for Letitia and Darren, with Letitia’s confidence at a low, and nerves about performing on Saturday getting higher by the day. ‘I know I will be terrified,’ says Letitia. ‘What I’m going to do is try to focus on Darren and dance with him. The reality might be a different thing! I might fall over. This is just Darren and myself, that’s what I’m going to channel into.’ ‘I’m not that competitive with the girls, I think that starts this Saturday. But, what is competitiveness? I’m competing with myself – I’m dealing with my own issues at the minute.’ Darren explains, ‘This year you have a group of female celebrities who have long legs. Models, pop stars, all in their twenties and thirties, so Letitia is feeling a little vulnerable at the moment. She thinks þWhat do I look like in comparison?’ as opposed to thinking ‘how much better am I at danci

Stephanie is Strictly Dancing to help lose weight
2007-10-10 10:59:21
Stephanie Beacham appeared on ITV1’s Loose Women on Monday, and talked about her goal to lose weight as a result of appearing on Strictly. ‘Three years ago I gave up smoking, and I immediately put on 15 pounds, and that’s really hard to lose. So I thought OK, I am going to lose at least ten pounds, and for every pound I don’t loose, I’m going to donate £1000 to Children in Need.’ Stephanie also talked about the challenge of Strictly Come Dancing . ‘The trouble is before you go on, you haven’t got a script, you haven’t got a character, you’ve just got you, and these movements, and you think ‘how do I remember them?’ Because they don’t make any sense. So I’ve had to make up things like ‘hailing a taxi’!’ ‘I’ve realised that it was actually 50 years ago when I gave up ballet, and the last time I did ballroom was at the age of five on my father’s feet, and that was 55 yea

Kelly out and about

Source: thesun.co.uk   Stunning Kelly Brook stepped out looking demure last night in a dazzling cream lace number. Kelly was at the star-studded ceremony to present an award to one of the winners.

Hotting up in week 3
2007-10-20 05:13:30
Source: bbc.co.uk This week the competition really steps up a gear as the boys and the girls dance together for the first time, hoping to make it through to dance again next week. So how has their training been going this week? After being in the bottom two last week, Letitia’s confidence has been her biggest hurdle. ‘Whenever I start to panic, Darren really helps me to forget my nerves,’ she explains. ‘I hope on Saturday I will have more self confidence and do a great performance.’ Kelly and Brendan have been rehearsing hard. Perhaps even too much? ‘I’ve already danced this like a million times,’ Kelly said yesterday. Brendan replied, ‘Well maybe we need a million and five.’ Craig’s comments about Penny not being light enough on her feet have really hit home. After a successful run-through, Ian commented, ‘Isn’t that light enough Craig?’ to which Penny replied, ‘Penny the elephant!’ (more&

Brendan interview with The Guardian
2007-10-20 05:13:24
Source: The Guardian How was dancing with Kelly Brook on Saturday? I loved it. I thought it went really well - only a couple of hiccups, which she managed to get through without too many problems. I was a little bit disappointed that everyone seems to think our rumba was all sex and raunch when it wasn’t. It was supposed to be much more emotional - a sensual love story - but everyone thinks it’s a sexual carry-on, which annoys me. Do you have any input in who you get as a partner? No, they see who pairs up the best height-wise, age-wise, talent-wise, and they go for who’s going to have good chemistry. What did you think when Kelly first walked into the room? Good job! The phrase “died and gone to heaven” springs to mind. Sure. She’s a very beautiful girl and she was so happy to be doing the show - some of my partners haven’t given a shit. (more…)

Kelly, Brendan and Yoda
2007-10-20 05:13:14
Source: the sun.co.uk Hotstepping hot stuff Kelly Brook has been using some Yoda moves to help prepare her for this week’s Strictly Come Dancing show. The sexy model and actress has been flexing her lithe limbs while dancing partner Brendan Cole wields his lightsaber. It happened as the pair took time out and joked around in rehearsals by acting out scenes from Star Wars. The pair come to blows with a couple of dance studio implements - which double as lightsabers. Curvy Kelly pretends to be diddy Jedi Master Yoda, then admits she is no good at doing impressions. The sparks really fly between the waltzing wonders - and we’re not talking about their sci-fi weaponry. So it’s understable that Kelly’s actor fiance Billy Zane splurged on Agent Provocateur undies for his gal this weekend. The salsa-tional dance partners are one of the favourite couples to win the BBC1 show. They’re up against the likes of Hot Legs Penny Lancaster, Mis-Teeq babe Alesha Dixon and

Willie needs to toughen up
2007-10-18 05:25:10
Over in the training room, Erin has been trying a bit of tough love on Willie , in order for him to shine in this week’s dance. Being a very different dance to the Waltz, Willie was struggling today to lower his frame and he found the flat foot work quite hard as well. This prompted Erin to comment, ‘You look like you’re skipping through a tulip field!’ As well as correcting his feet and posture Erin was determined to change Willie’s attitude and emotion towards the dance believing him to be too soft and wanting him to be more angry. Willie, always the romantic gentleman, is struggling to dance with the aggression and passion required, so much so that Erin said she might have to resort to violence. ‘I might have to slap you about a bit backstage before we dance on Saturday,’ she joked. Letitia dances off heartache
2007-10-17 11:23:33
Source: mirror.co.uk Letitia Dean has thrown herself into Strictly Come Dancing after splitting from her husband. The ex-EastEnder, 39, hopes starring in the BBC ballroom show will dull the pain after Jason Pethers quit their home. A friend said: “Letitia is very upset and her mates have been rallying round. “She has been living and breathing dancing as a way of distracting herself from the pain.” Letitia married media consultancy boss Jason, also 39, in 2002. She quit the TV soap last year to start a family after playing Dirty Den’s daughter Sharon Watts for 20 years. But the baby never came. She was previously engaged to Neil McLintock, son of ex-Arsenal star Frank, and Nescafe advert star Martin Ball.

Strictly Clone Dancing
2007-10-17 11:14:36
Source: thesun.co.uk Strictly Come Dancing chiefs were left red-faced after Stephanie Beacham’s routine was revealed to be a copycat of one on the US version. Dynasty star Stephanie, 60, danced the Quickstep to KT Tunstall’s hit Suddenly I See before getting the boot on Saturday. But a week ago former Beverly Hills 90210 actress Jennie Garth did the SAME dance to the SAME song on Dancing With The Stars — seen here on UKTV Gold. Dancing With The Stars is live on Monday and Tuesday nights in the US. A show source said: “The routines were very similar. You can’t say Stephanie and her partner Vincent Simone nicked the routine from Jennie — they would never have had time. “But the producers of both shows know each other and must know what the stars are doing.” Last night a BBC spokeswoman insisted: “All the ballroom and Latin dances have certain repertories of steps. “So there would of course be similarities in the routines as they both danced the Quicks

John Barnes wants a cuddle
2007-10-17 11:11:47
Source: metro.co.uk John Barnes has revealed that he thinks the Strictly Come Dancing judges are softer on the girls so they don’t throw “diva tantrums”. The 43-year-old former footballer is competing against the likes of Kelly Brook, Letitia Dean and Matt Di Angelo on the hit BBC One ballroom dancing show. He said: “[The judges] were harsh on the boys - but I think that they know the boys can take it. I’m not being sexist but I don’t think that they can be that cruel to the girls because a few of the divas may throw a few tantrums. Us boys can take it, we’re thick skinned.” John added: “We’d like to hear them be a little bit more encouraging rather than just being critical but there’s not a lot you can do about that. All we can do is try and be our best.” And the former England international said he wanted to stay on the show to get back in shape. “I was glad not to be the first one out and I’m hoping

Matt and Alesha sitting in a tree
2007-10-22 10:53:59
Source: thesun.co.uk Eastenders hunk Matt Di Angelo is putting the moves on stunning Alesha Dixon. The pair were spotted dirty dancing at a trendy London nightspot on Saturday. Matt, 20, and former MisTeeq singer Alesha, 29, joined stars and dancers from BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing at the Movida club. The pair stunned onlookers by getting down and dirty on the dance-floor. A source said: “They were flirting and it carried on to the dance floor. “They weren’t snogging – but they might as well have been.” Alesha split from rapper hubby MC Harvey this year. Snooker’s Willie Thorne, 53, was axed last night. Saturday’s show drew 8.5million viewers against The X Factor’s 9.4million.

Kenny under pressure
2007-10-22 10:52:36
There was an added pressure for Kenny on Saturday night. This time last year Ola danced the same dance, the Tango, with her partner Spoony, scored only 25 points, and was knocked out of the competition. Kenny and Ola’s performance also earned them 25 points, but luckily they did well enough to be voted through to next week. ‘I think I have improved,’ said Kenny, ‘but I feel like the judges just criticise rather than compliment, which isn’t very helpful.’ And he didn’t agree with all of the judges’ comments. ‘The reason for my ‘gorilla hands’ is because I’ve got big hands – I’m a rugby player!’ Kenny’s not looking forward to next week, but is still giving it his all. ‘I’m going to approach this week the same as every other week. Work hard, practice, and listen to the music. I’ll have it as my ring tone on my phone too.’ Source: bbc.co.uk

Penny in tears
2007-10-22 10:50:53
On Saturday night’s show, Penny Lancaster wept in the after-dance interview as she was asked questions by Tess Daly. Penny seemed absolutely distraught at her performance and the judges comments really upset her. At least she got through and can put the jive behind her; I think both her and Ian are happy about that! More Pictures after the jump. (more…)

Bye Bye Willie
2007-10-22 10:47:34
Well it’s goodbye to Willie Thorne and I can’t say I’m surprised or sad but he is very sweet! it would have been a travesty if John Barnes got voted out; and I don’t think that was ever going to happen. I think Erin’s choice of music for the tango was completely wrong and didn’t help them at all!
