Sex and the internet 2007-09-23 23:24:23 The internet gives us quick and easy access to a numerous number of services, like world wide communications, free entertainment, a forum for anonymous opinions, just to name a few. As internet based services increase so does the amount of time the average person is spending online, this got me wondering whether we are becoming or already are addicted to the internet and more importantly what are we willing to give up to satisfy the addiction.

Proving to be a perfect match 2007-09-21 01:05:59
Short URL redirection
Well the new server is proving to be a good match with what I need, the software provided also seems to be working well also. Another lot of good news, is that the site has been indexed by Google, that should help to generate some more traffic. I have also registered the blog on BlogCatalog. Still waiting to add some links to the links section, when I get my home server up and running (yeah I know it’s been two weeks) I’ll add the links ASAP.
Also Anybody wanting to add a blog to the site can email me at hellcat82@msn.com, with the topic you want to write about and I’ll see what I can do about adding an account for you.
That’s it from me,

Australia Government to censor the Internet 2007-09-21 00:32:32 The Australia
n Government
is at it again, making up ridiculous bills that take our rights away as citizens piece by precious piece. First they gave the federal police powers that pretty much nullified the “innocent until proven guilty” basis of our law, when there is even the inkling of terrorism. The power I’m referring to basically allows a person to be taken to court and charged without releasing all of the facts of the case, just in case another terrorist decides to use these facts to boost the success of their own actions. Now the Minister of IT, Senator Helen Coonan is trying to pass a bill that will allow the federal police to censor any websites that are “crime or terrorism related". Read more! » Read more:Internet
Tim Tam Review 2007-09-20 02:14:54 If you are an Australian, immigrated to Australia, ever visited Australia or heck even know someone associated with Australia, chances are you have tried or know about Tim Tams. Tim Tams are a chocolate covered biscuit with a cream like filling. If you have ever eaten a Tim Tam, you would know the best way to eat a Tim Tam is by having a Tim Tam bomb. The correct way to have a Tim Tam bomb is:

2Clix backflips over court action 2007-09-19 22:37:36 You might remember my blog a little while ago about 2Clix suing Whirlpool over injurious falsehood claims when unfavorable posts were uncovered in a Whirlpool thread. Well appears that 2Clix has seen the light and has decided to drop the case. Why they decided to drop the legal action is up to speculation. Read more! »

C# key logger tutorial - Part 1 2007-10-01 22:57:20 Today I’m going to take you through creating a key logger in C#. A key logger is a small program that intercepts user key presses and records them in a text file. They are generally used to spy on an unsuspecting victim to acquire passwords and other personal information. Law enforcement agencies have also been known to use them to gather evidence against suspected criminals. Why have I decided to write a tutorial about creating such a program, well the same theory that is used behind a key logger can also be used to create quite interesting utility programs, like a mouse odometer, a key press statistics program, and possibly even a computer security system that locks out user input if a password is found to be incorrect.

A proud weekend for Victorians 2007-09-30 21:04:43 This weekend was an excellent weekend to be a Victorian. Saturday was the AFL grand final, the cup was either on it’s way to Victoria or Adelaide. Thankfully the Victorian side Geelong, won. If that wasn’t enough to make Victorian’s everywhere proud then the 163 to 44 thrashing was. There were times when I though that Geelong would score less if Port Adelaide wasn’t on the field. Although I must say, it was sad to see such a one sided match in a grand final. Geelong did deserve the win though, as they were the best side all year by a considerable margin.

Aussie's ingnorant about phishing 2007-10-10 23:48:13 Anybody in Australia who has watched the TV tabloid style shows like A Current Affair, or Today Tonight will have heard about internet scams, the most popular one that seems to be still catching people out is the Nigerian email scam. While this is one of the more talked about scams, there is a scam that seems to be catching just as many people out. Phishing is a method of scamming people to enter sensitive information so that the perpetrators can benefit from it. It works by sending an email that looks and sounds like it’s been sent from a financial institution like Paypal or even Ebay.

Because I'm a Scientist! 2007-10-08 21:11:37 As some of you may or may not be aware, I am a scientist by profession. And in the name of science, and partly entertainment, I am proposing to offer myself as an experimental case.
I am calling you, yes you, to give suggestions on something I could try/do/experience and then I will blog about it step by step. For example a particular detox diet, dress as the opposite sex, go a week without eating sugar, heck anything! I am willing to put myself to anything and I will promise to give it my all, and hopefully I can come up with a few good blogs and become a better person from it.
So hit me with your best suggestion!

Vista User Experience Guidelines 2007-10-28 22:32:42 Microsoft has released their guidelines for development on Vista
. The aim of this 763 page document is to ensure consistency between different software packages as well as the operating system itself and make UI development for Vista easier and quicker. I’m a strong believer in the importance of consistency in software, not just to itself but also to the environment it’s running in, including other installed software packages. If for nothing else then simply because this is what the user expects. By the software performing as the user expects, the user will suffer a shorter learning curve, and the software should get a higher acceptance level.

Dutch virtual thief gets not so virtual treatment 2007-11-14 23:55:22 I thought I’d mention this little article. Apparently Amsterdam police arrested a 16 year old over stealing virtual
