Dhol - Movie Review : It’s raining laughathons 2007-09-22 01:12:43 PARTNER. HEYY BABYY. DHAMAAL. Now DHOL. It’s raining laughathons!
Since almost a decade, Priyadarshan has been specializing in comic capers. Priyan has tickled the funny bone of viewers time and again and in DHOL, the comic scenes override the thrill quotient. The comedy, like always, is targeted at those who appreciate the Priyan brand of humor — irrational, but funny. The chemistry between the four pivotal characters is tremendous, especially Rajpal Yadav, who’s bound to walk away with ceetees and taalis.
Let’s look at the other side of the coin! The gangster portions remind one of the 1980s cinema, which has been beaten to death in film after film. These portions are an aberration and the accomplished director should trim them by at least 20 minutes so that the impact created by the comedy track remains intact, not getting diluted in the process.
Yet, in all fairness, DHOL has some hilarious moments to make you beat the dhol once the show has ended!

As per sources, the script is being reworked, keeping SRK’s age and image into consideration.

There was a lot of surprise when it first came to light (last month) that some of the leading artists of Ashutosh Gowariker’s upcoming Hrithik-Aishwarya starrer, JODHAA AKBAR, were still to complete
their dubbing.
It was generally believed that just like Ashutosh’s Oscar nominated LAGAAN, his JODHAA AKBAR too was in sync sound and it was a bid to defame the lead artists of the movie, as sync sound requires no dubbing!
However, it has now been confirmed by none other than Hrithik’s manager, Ashok Vasodia that the film was not shot in sync sound and that the dubbing / post-production is in progress.
As may be recalled, we were one of the first to confirm JODHAA AKBAR’S new release date as January 25, 2008.

Laaga Chunari Mein Daag Disappoints 2007-10-13 04:47:44 I think Yash Raj has lost it. Except an odd Chak De, all their recent movies are hopeless. Laaga Chunari Mein Daag is another disaster. I was expecting a good movie by Parineeta director, Pradeep Sarkar, but he disappoints big time. If it was not for Rani Mukherjee, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag is unwatchable. Critics are unanimous in dismissing Laaga Chunari Mein Daag.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa is an Average Movie 2007-10-13 04:10:13 Bhool Bhulaiyaa is finally out and I think the movie is an average fare. Priyadarshan is not that comfortable in mixing horror with comedy. I think priyadarshan should stick to his slapstick comedies. Acting wise Vidya Balan impresses. Other actors do their routine work. Even critics share similar feelings.
