Happy Day! 2007-09-16 19:13:00 My husband's Paid Medical Leave had been approved. Definitely, he will get no overtime pay or have no part time job on this leave, but he can still get the regular monthly salary, for three months on his permanent job. But, he will be a good helper for me, for the first three months for our upcoming baby. About my OB-GYN provider, I found a new place called Birthcare, with the same midwife who delivered my first born. During this second pregnancy, I don't have any health problem complications. I think, it's not a big deal that I've moved to a new OB-GYN provider. So far, my last appointment went well. My midwife asked if I wanted to have an Epidural Injections. I said yes! Whew, if you only knew the pain! Another good news, all hospital bills are one hundred percent (100%) covered with hubby's insurance. There will be a co-pay, but that is nothing like the last time, it was only eighty percent (80%). Lastly, waves of excitement, panic, joy, panic, fear, panic, and excitement keep Read more: Happy

Time Management 2007-09-13 16:54:00 Please bear with me. I think the postpartum depression is premature, especially since the baby has not arrived yet! I have been worrying so much this month. One of the most difficult things to do is having a new large work load. Whether chores in the house, something in your office or anywhere. Maybe, for a month or two it is hard for you to handle of all the responsibilities. But once you get used to it, as part of your daily routine, managing is so easy, and you are able to work independently. This month, I have been worrying so much. My big day is almost there of having a second baby. I have been thinking of many things, on how to manage my time. From a new born baby, my daughter and hubby, how will I divide my time for them? Do I still have time for myself too? I don’t know how long will I be away from the blogsphere, nor am I willing to give up. My online life has turned into something that I enjoy. I have realized how much I am actually happy spending time with my online frien Read more: Management

players and just decided to play too, but what to write about? First, I thought, this meme has a theme in every week but there is none. Some of the people who participated really have some great list of ideas. But, I will start my first entry next week with a basic and simple 13 lists. I think it would be fun to list down some of the mystery and things about myself. THE PURPOSE BEHIND THE THURSDAY THIRTEEN:“The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. What do you do? Write Thirteen things about yourself, summarize your week in one entry, make it easy for other bloggers to get to know you on a weekly basis. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged! If you participate, leave the link to your Thirteen in others comments. It’s easy, and fun! Be sure to update your Thirteen with links that are left for you, as well!”Get the Thursday Thirteen code here!

OB-GYN Provider 2007-09-04 22:41:00 During my first pregnancy, my prenatal care was provided for by a midwife, backed by two male obstetrician/gynecologists. This continued through birth, though three prenatal visits were with either of the male ob/gyns. But those were only routine appointments, like checking the heartbeat of the baby, my blood pressure and a urine test. But most of the time, the care I received was through the midwife. This time, my ob/gyns are the same providers as during my first pregnancy. However, the midwife that I liked is no longer there. I found out they don’t have midwives there anymore. And I never have received care from a female ob/gyn while there. Maybe we can look for a new provider, but I like this facility, and so far I don’t know of any place that is better. With no choice but between two male doctors, I have to let them do my Pap smear, beast exams and evaluations of my cervix. Up to now, I have only been directly under the care of one of the doctors. I like and am satisfied with Read more: Provider

33 Days to Go 2007-09-01 17:01:00 Wow, I am almost there! I have 33 days left before my due date. This week appointment was all good. My blood pressure was ok. My weight and measurements are rapidly going up. The doctor said, “I am doing good”, so I guess I won’t worry about it. I’ve gained 37 pounds so far, which seems like an awful a lot to me. The baby is growing so fast that has no where to go but out. Most of my maternity clothes are tighter now but no way to spend another penny on maternity clothes. I am still dreaming about going back my old figure. *wink*For some reason, I am hoping the baby will come early maybe on late of September. This month, my appointment is every week.
Equal Love 2007-08-26 22:26:00 Are you as excited and as anxious in anticipation of having a second child? Are you working toward the same level of preparation as for the first child? There is a big difference in preparation for having a second child, especially if your first child is only 2 years old with the same gender as the second one. For example, if you still have all the clothes and other baby things from the first baby, of course, it is impractical for you to buy it again. I remember, one friend posted about “The Birth Order of Children”, now I understand why it happens. But it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be able to love the second as much as I love my firstborn. I am also aware of what will be the reaction of the first child when the second child arrives. I heard a lot from my friends that if the second baby will cry, the older will cry too. Whatever attention you will give for the second child, the first child wants it too. If all of this will happen, I just hope my first child can adjust easily, hop Read more: Equal
So It Starts! 2007-08-21 15:38:00 I just realized it’s been a week since I last updated this blog. I actually do have somethings to blog but just don’t have the time to sit on the computer. It’s all about my daughter who demands my time by playing with her, I have been entertaining her most of the day. When I am on the computer, she always grabbed my hand and say no, no, no…ha-ha-ha. She knows the word “no” now. Am sure, she will be saying this later, “Mama, stop using the computer, you play with me”. Between her, cooking, chores, errands & etc… it’s been hard to blog. She’s been saying many words now. Aside from books, this is my way of teaching her, a slideshow pictures on the computer and ABC from Starfall.

Child Development 2007-08-09 23:04:00 I have been a reading baby information website. It is about 75% of normal 15-month-olds should be saying at least five words consisting of “mama”, “dada” and at least 3 other nouns. As a stay-at-home-mom, your role is to take care of the family, especially the children. I cannot avoid worrying so much about my baby’s development. I am wondering why, when my daughter reached to 24 months old, she wasn’t talking yet. She could only say “mama.” As I observed, with my friend’s children in the Philippines, they started to talk as early as 15 to 18 months of age. Although, I can admit, I can't help but feel a little jealous; because I did not understand why my daughter is not as advanced as the other children. Some friends told me that we cannot compare children’s development and expect them all to be the same. Some will develop early and some are late. One thing that impressed me with my daughter is that her motor skills are very good. She can perform along with actio Read more: Development
Yesterday and Today 2007-08-06 22:52:00 Second pregnancy, will it be the same as the first one?One thing I have noticed with my second pregnancy is that I am more in control. Everything is going well, and I have no worries because I have been through this before. One of the advantages of a second pregnancy is that many worries and concerns are no longer there. I know what to expect and what to be concerned about. This second baby seems to be moving a lot more. From big stuff to small stuff, there are not any serious issues, with the coming arrival of the second baby. Gaining weight is not a problem anymore. The most exiting part this time is anticipating what my baby looks like. Does she look like my first child, me or hubby? Read more: Today

Prison Break 2007-08-01 18:10:00 Of all the TV series’ that I have watched, Prison
Break
is by far my favorite one. Prison Break
Season 1 has a running time of about 16 hours with 22 Episodes.I finished watching season 1 & 2 of Prison Break about two months ago. This week I did nothing but watch the complete first season again with my hubby. I still enjoyed it. Hubby got hooked on it too. I think he can’t sleep for waiting for the release of Season 2 on September 4, 2007 at Blockbuster.

Residency Extended 2007-07-27 10:52:00 About a week ago, I finally received a letter from the USCIS (United States Citizenship & Immigration Service) to let me know my two year conditional permanent residence has been extended for a year pending processing of my application to become a permanent resident. The letter says I can still travel anytime outside from USA during the one year extension. I “might” be going home to PI (Philippine Islands) during this period. I am not worried about this extension since I am not in a hurry to become a US Citizen. Hubby and I have many plans in the Philippines before obtaining my US Citizenship. Nobody can harm my residency unless I am committed with criminal issues.Just recently, I had done my biometrics in USCIS – Application Support Center. I arrived there on time at 8:00am then finished at 8:20am. Read more: Residency

Why Buy A House? 2007-07-23 08:16:00 To buy a house is a big decision. So many things to consider for paying taxes, utilities, maintenance and etc. But, living in an apartment is much cheaper than to own a house. Apartments are supplying gas and water and some appliances (furniture, refrigerator, gas stove, etc.). There are, definitely, a lot of things to think about! As I can see, owning a house is better than to live an apartment, for the rest of your life. There is so much to deem for the family, especially if you have children. Having children has been the most wonderful experience. Many apartments don't have much of a yard to play in. And if there isn't a yard or common area at your apartment, where are you going to BBQ?We started looking for an apartment to accommodate at least four. We are trying to stay within a monthly rent of $800. But, we just realized if we can afford to pay $800 for the the rent. So, if we are going to spend that much per month, then, why not buy a house? It's more than just an investment o Read more: House
Weaning From the Bottle 2007-07-21 08:16:00 When it comes to weaning from the bottle, the process can be difficult, but it's worth it in the end, for both you and your child. I've seen many parents giving their children bottles at age 3, but weaning from the bottle can actually be done around 12-18 months of age. At this age, I didn’t try to wean my baby from bottle feeding, because I was concerned about her milk intake. Most of my friends said, when their children started to drink milk out of a glass, the intake of milk was less than feeding from a bottle. This time, I am encouraged to wean my two year old daughter from the bottle for her dental health. If she will continue with her bottle it may cause of tooth decay. The first five days were hard to deal with, but she's doing better now. She's been drinking milk out of a glass for three weeks now. I haven't seen her missing her bottle. After her heavy meals, she can drink five (5) onces of milk in a total of 15 onces everyday.
First Prenatal Visit 2007-07-18 08:11:00 I went in for my first prenatal check-up yesterday morning. It was first because I was out of the country before knowing I am pregnant. My BP and the baby’s heartbeat are normal. Weight was good, I gained but I didn’t put up a lot of weight compare from my first pregnancy. The Doctor said everything is looking good. This was a marathon appointment including blood test for diabetes during pregnancy, urinary test, complete physical with Pap smear and breast exam. We will go back on Thursday for 2D Ultrasound to check the growth of the baby including the 4D ultrasound too. My next appointment will be on July 30, 2007.The pregnancy due date calculation will be on October 4, 2007. Read more: First
The Laughters 2007-07-16 11:38:00 A few images of my daughter'slaughters from 2005 to 2006.
My Daughter's Foods 2007-07-09 08:02:00 Bringing up a child is full of tears and tantrums and laughter. My two (2) year old daughter had just graduated from drinking only milk. She can eat some table foods like an adult. She can even use a spoon to eat her oatmeal. Wow! It’s hard for me to believe how she has a good appetite, and she gets hungry quickly too. At first, it was hard for me to prepare her meals. We would try to feed her what we would be eating, such as foods that we would buy at a restaurant or what I prepared for our meals at home. I usually prepared vegetable salads and sandwiches, but these meals are not the type of foods that she would eat. Now, the only difference is that we will eat the chunky portions, and my daughter will eat the ones that I cut into small pieces and those foods of a smoother texture. But later, I found out that they are not that hard to make at all. I learned to prepare meal size portions and place them in plastic containers for refrigeration, for meals enough for up to 3 days. Tagged #8: Desktop Wallpaper 2007-09-26 22:52:00 Maiylah and Trinity has tagged me for the (“What’s on your desktop?”) meme. I was going to clean a little, but one of the rules is, that you have to take an immediate capture of your desktop, upon receiving this tag. Ok, here’s a screenshot of my desktop. There is nothing much on it, but it’s all about educational material for my two year old baby. At least two times a week, I have to change the wallpaper of my desktop from the alphabet, numbers, animals, shapes, colors and other images for educational purposes. I think everyone had been tagged by this meme, so I am not going to pass it on. Blogging Awards 2007-09-25 05:02:00 Hello everyone! This is overdue, but it’s better to post this before I forget, and I apologize for the delay. When I received the first award, I was in the Philippines. I was busy and enjoying my vacation. That is why I forgot to post about what I got from Agring. Just recently, I received awards from my co-bloggers. Now it’s time for me to say something, because they deserve it. Although, I can’t say what all these awards mean, but I am proud to be the recipient of the awards. I was pleased as well as touched by the kind gestures of five of my blogging pals. These persons did something from their hearts; they are Agring, Mousey, Oger, Bless and Gracita. What they did is so sweet, wonderful and thoughtful, so much so, that brought tears in my heart! I salute you guys for having the guts to choose which blogger you will award, among your other online buddies. So now, it’s my turn to pass on these awards to my friends. I’ll be giving awards before the end of this year. Read more: Awards

Journey to Excellence 2007-09-23 22:57:00 I always had somewhat of a difficult time making friends with young mothers who have young children. I am not sure why that it was so difficult. But, it was always difficult to hear them always talking about their children. One mother says, my child is smart and a fast learner. Another mother says, my child can dance and sing at the age of 2 or so and etc. I became tired of hearing those praises from mothers about their children. I would think that they are too proud, because they were always bragging about their children to everyone, because it’s their own blood. Now, I have my own child, and I just realized those feelings are normal for the parents, especially the mother! About a month ago, I wrote an article of a child’s development; I was talking about my daughter. I was worried and wondered why she wasn't saying many words at her age. For the past six weeks, I've seen her interest to learn things. So everyday, I have not stopped teaching and introducing to her to new words. Read more: Journey

Am I Ready? 2007-09-19 18:13:00 Just a short update.I have two weeks to go before delivery. I am experiencing occasional contractions and other symptoms that I experienced my first pregnancy. Last night, I packed most of the hospital bag that I should done it before a couple of weeks ago. I had packed up one (1) hospital bag for the new born baby and one (1) big bag for me, hubby and my daughter.Hospital bags, video camera, camera, battery and tripod are now lives in my trunk. This time, the car gas tank won’t below half. By the way, hubby’s Medical Leave will start on October 1st. Just in case, if I can feel the sign of labor and hubby is not around, all I have to do is just drive the car and go to the hospital. I think, I can make it though because from our apartment to the hospital is only ten minutes drive.
Picky Eater 2008-02-18 18:43:00 Jo tagged me about 8 Random Things about my daughter but to be specific I will talk only one. My daughter is a picky eater. I think for her age, she is under weight. She is not interested in adult foods. But her favorite food for breakfast is cereals and milk. I am giving her yogurt, just to add flavors and add nutritional value. Most of her foods are finger foods. She is almost 3 years old, but she can’t feed by herself alone. She can only use a spoon, when she’s eating an ice cream or her favorite foods. If I give her a proper meal and let her use the spoon, she is only good for 2 to 3 bites, then after that she will stop eating. So, what I did, until now, I am spoon feeding her like a baby. If I won’t help her, she can’t eat, and I am scared that she will get sick.I have observed
