Bigfoot and a Bigger Boy at 22 Months 2007-11-12 12:34:05 I suppose the best part of having kids later than your friends do is that you can get some pretty sweet hand-me-downs. A friend from work gave us a Bigfoot
Power Wheels. It needs a little TLC, some sprucing up and new batteries. (we got a good buy on eBay for some). Other than that, it’s really in good condition, and Landon loves it! We got a taste of just how fun Christmas will be this year when Brian brought it into the house. Landon lost it…he was so excited! He started jumping up and down screaming with delight! Since we’re waiting on the new batteries, it just sits there, but that hasn’t stopped Landon from playing on that thing every single day! He acted so grateful for his new toy! And we’re thankful to friends whose children outgrow stuff;)
The funny thing is, is that these Power Wheels are for ages 3 and up. Landon fits in it great, and can even reach the pedal! Boy does he love this thing! Can you tell?
So today Landon is 22-months old. How can Read more: Months
Tivo Tantrum 2007-11-19 06:30:16 Here’s a random tidbit…..
It’s a pretty good assumption that you have a problem when:
It takes most of a whole day, and feels like a job, to catch up on all the shows that you Tivo and when you have so many season passes set for the year, you are seldom watching live TV .
A MeMe To Begin The Weekend 2007-11-16 06:19:05 You know what is exciting? Well, let’s see, how about getting an email telling you that you sold your very first item in your Etsy Shop, and it was a Taggie Blanket to boot!? Yahoo! I know, I know, it’s only one item, but it’s still thrilling to me. Guess I need to make some more baby girl ones for the future;) So along with all the other running I have today to do, I get to make a happy trip to the post office and mail my first package. Yay, good stuff!
How about a post about some random goodness about myself to start the weekend on? You see, I have a new blogging friend. (I love getting new blogging friends.) Her name is Erin. She’s a really sweet and beautiful person with such a refreshing outlook on life. I admire her faith and enjoy reading about her daily life. Though I can’t remember how I found her blog, I am thrilled that I did! Go check her out, she’s a doll;)
So she tagged me with this lovely 8 Random Things Meme. What blogger can pass up Read more: Weekend
THANKSGIVING 2007-11-21 05:30:53 The time has come. Time to eat lots of food, laugh and hang out with family, watch some afternoon football with some pumpkin roll, and continue on family traditions passed down. Most important, it’s time to remember and to be thankful for all that we have. Things which money can not buy. Things that mean so much to us. Things which can never be replaced.
Sure, I’m thankful for all that yummy food that I only get to eat once a year. But I’m more thankful to be able to spend time with my family. I’m thankful that when I say family, I mean both sides, Brian’s and mine. I’m thankful for a marriage that brought two families together to become one. I’m thankful for love, promises, hope, and peace. I’m thankful for freedom and health. Really, I could go on and on. I do have so much I’ve been blessed with, and I never want to take any of it for granted, ever.
While I run around today getting last minute things done, and spending pretty muc
Back In The Saddle Again…. 2007-11-30 21:04:35
Today I picked up a bowl and brush, mixed up some color, and for the first time in a few years spent Landon’s whole nap coloring hair! Surprisingly, it felt pretty good.
Now, as you know, I haven’t done hair in awhile, I do cut Landon and Brian’s hair regularly, but other than that, I’ve hung up my smock, retired. But, my mom has decided she wants me to start doing her hair again. And being the good daughter that I am, I told her I’d be glad to do it. After all she is my mom:)
A trip to the beauty supply place, boy can a girl get product happy in there, and the rest of the afternoon my home was a salon. It was kind of scary, not knowing what brand of color mom’s old gal uses, but I matched it up pretty good. (hair dressers are good at eyeballing color) The cut wasn’t too shabby either, if I may say so. She was a satisfied customer.
It’s funny, when I worked in a salon, I couldn’t wait to be done so all I could do was be a stay at h Read more: Saddle

Something I’m Sure Of…. 2007-11-28 06:15:55 There are times when I feel as if I’m juggling a million roles at a time, balancing a million hobbies, and more times than one, I goof and drop all my balls onto the floor. I’m left flustered and feeling as if I can’t keep it all together, and that I can’t keep up with everyone, and I tire of trying.
Sometimes I struggle with self confidence. There are days when I feel I’m not a good enough blogger, really don’t fit into a certain blogging category. I’m kind of just off by myself, trying to better my writing skills and posting about topics that I care about and find myself hoping that other’s find as interesting as me. A girl can hope.
I find myself struggling with not comparing my blog with other’s. I don’t have any fancy give aways, contests, big word, full of action packed adventure, make you laugh till you cry, posts. Most times my posts can be bland and boring, even to me. But I enjoy blogging, I do. So I keep at it, the Read more: hellip
November Rain 2007-11-26 07:56:52
T’was the last night of Thanksgiving weekend, and all through the house, not a toddler was stirring, not even the pets. Landon was away, spending the night with Grandma and Grandpa. Mommy and Daddy curled up on the couch, a soft blanket on their laps, a large bowl of popcorn between them, watching a movie and enjoying the warmth of the fire; the best way to end the Thanksgiving weekend and kick off two days off with my hubby. Now this morning, sleeping-in, coffee and laptop in bed, Brian off doing his morning stuff, and a quiet house. Though I miss that messy-haired footed-jammie little boy stirring from his sleep, it’s nice having a quiet morning alone with Brian. Grandparents are really good to have around, you know?
Thanksgiving was low key yet wonderfully relaxing, even though it was terribly cold and snowed a bit. Thankfully it didn’t stick or stay. I wasn’t brave enough to do outside pictures this year, so we were limited to indoors ones.
I did not go o Read more: November
Little Boots 2007-12-05 07:45:19 Here we have your classic rubber boots. (Cutest things ever, right?) Perfect for those visits to grandma’s farm, when I can’t keep him out of the horse’s pen. (Turns out washing white tennis shoes over and over can get old!)
Classic snow boots.
Purchased at just the right time. It appears that we will be needing them today.
We awoke to find that it looks a little like Christmas outside.
Our first real snow. Break out the salt trucks! Pull out the shovels! It’s true, winter is really here.
(Sigh)
Edited To Add: The snow boots work pretty well! See for yourself;)
Landon loves snow, unlike his mother!

Questions Of The Week 2007-12-03 06:30:00
How many of these inflatable Christmas characters do people need to have in their yard before it’s looks too gaudy!?
Shouldn’t there be a law on just how many they are allowed to have!?
Do they really need all the characters that the stores make!? Really one, maybe two, is enough.
And finally, how long before I see an inflatable baby Jesus in real life? Because even HomeDepot.com and Walmart.com sell these!
These are the questions that plague my mind today.
(Sigh)
He REALLY looks like Brian now… 2007-12-19 12:49:07 Today has been one of those days where all you want to do is crawl back in bed and restart the whole morning all over again. Push the rewind button, and make it right. One of those mornings where you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders, and the stress of not keeping all your emotions in check. Ever have those days?
To make the morning worse, I decided to cut Landon’s hair. Deciding to give him a haircut wasn’t a bad thing really, I do it all the time. But I really should have waited to do it later this week, when I was a bit more focused I suppose. Well, to make a long story short, Landon moved, and I didn’t have the guard (clipper attachment) on the clippers and I took off a huge chunk of hair from the side of his head! We’re talking, bald spot, I can see scalp, chunk of hair!! I nearly threw up on Landon and my purple smock. 5 days before Christmas and I scalp the child. Just great, those will make for some awesome Christmas pictures next week! Ugh. Read more: REALLY

Still Alive And Ready For Christmas! 2007-12-17 17:45:25 I’m so glad that you all enjoyed Landon’s traumatic experience that was seeing Santa. I had my wonderful and ever so talented writer hubby do my last post for your reading entertainment. He rocks, right? I think if he had more free time (ha, free time!) he would have his own blog. He really enjoyed posting for me, and I was happy to take a posting break and let someone else give the ol’ blog some love and attention.
Last week Landon and I had horrible head colds; so bad that one night I wanted to be admitted into the ER for my sore throat! To make matters worse, this past weekend we got blasted with a snow storm and were snowed in. Being cooped up in the house for 6 days straight, germs being bounced off me and a toddler, is NOT my idea of a good time. The funny thing is that as sick as Landon was, he still maintained his normal high energy level!? What is up with that!? The only thing that kept him still for a few hours is his new favorite movie, The Polar Express. Read more: Christmas

Toddler Terrorized as Santa Looks on, Bemused 2007-12-12 06:00:51
I guess when you’ve made as many small children cry as he has, you’ve got to eventually find humor in it—it’s either that or go home and swim in a gin bottle until there’s nothing on t.v. but the stock image of a waving flag and the Star-Spangled Banner, bursting out of your 1982 Zenith console with an earnest, hyper-patriotic rendition. I think I would be a trifle discouraged at the thought of little guys and gals recoiling in horror at my very presence, but when you’ve been vomited on, harassed, pinched, laughed at, stared at, assaulted, and decried as often as Kris Kringle, a little tears shed in honest terror is just a day at the office.
Now, before you get the wrong idea here, I was not exactly indignant or outraged. In fact, I believe my wife was laughing fairly hard. At least Santa
had the common decency to mumble his guffaws, assuming he was amused (it’s hard to read the face of a man covered in a polyester beard). Randi, on the ot Read more: Looks
There’s No Place Like Home 2007-12-10 06:30:35
Every year it snows. Most times I’m used to the cold winter months here in Ohio, yet other times it takes me by total surprise. Why? Who knows. I’ve lived here my entire life, and you’d think for those times that I do grumble, complain, and act like it’s the first time I’ve ever seen snow, that I’d be completely used to it. And most times I am, really.
I’m beginning to really love that we have four seasons here. I love seeing new life begin in the Spring, little sprigs of color popping up everywhere, a re-birth, a new beginning for all around. I began, this past fall, to fall in love and realize just what all you fall-lovers were so crazy about. I saw the season with perhaps new eyes, or with the help of a better camera that captured the fall beauty. Hands down though, Summer is still truly my favorite, because yes, I prefer to be hot rather than cold. Once I’m cold, I stay that way for a while.
Now that the winter season is upon us and Read more: Place
Well…It’s Official… 2008-03-08 07:40:20
