Bravisa introduces free virtual personal stores
2007-09-04 20:34:47
We’re excited to announce the rollout of Bravisa’s new beta site. We’ve made it fast and easy for you to earn significant money (20-40% of sale) with your free personal bStore. Many of you who want to make money by opening virtual online stores and selling products through your blogs and websites have had to live with substantial compromises: Competition from merchants, marginal financial benefits, lack of transparency in tracking earnings, upfront and ongoing fees, and/or a limited set of products. Our hope is to change all with the bStore - your free personal online store where you: 1) Have complete control over your store (products, earnings, customization, marketing tools, and more) 2) Can markup wholesale prices to set your own retail prices. 100% of your markup is credited to you and you can make retailer-size profit (20-40%) on every sale. 3) Have total visibility to and 100% tracking accuracy on all sales 4) Don’t face competition from Bravisa or other merchants

New easier seller registration and store setup
2007-06-11 20:16:25
You spoke, and we listened. The registration now has fewer fields to enter. All you need is to enter your email address, select a username & password for your login, and off you go. In summary, we removed entering your first name, last name, and selecting a password hint. We have also removed the requirement to confirm your email address before you can start setting up your free bStore. You will be able to create an account, login immediately and start setting up your bStore(s). Entering your name, confirming your email address are still a requirement for receiving the proceeds of your bStore sales. You will also be able to set up your password reset question from your account. Enjoy! Cheers, Your Bravisa Team

How to Set Up Your Store
2007-06-07 21:36:13
Bravisa makes it easy for you to make money by promoting products you like. You select products, set prices, and then promote your products in your free personal bStore or on your blog. If you are not sure how to do this, hopefully this post will help.   (1) Pick Products To find products you are excited about, either browse Products to Sell or search our products to find whatever interests you. As an admitted chocolate addict, I can’t resist searching for chocolate cake so I’ll type that in the search as shown below. Select the product you would like to place in your bStore. If you do not yet have an account, you will be prompted to register so that you can add products to your store. I’ll select the Chocolate Mint Bundt Cake since that makes my mouth water.   (2) Set Prices Before you add a product to your bStore, you will need to set your price. You can do this by either 1. entering Your Markup (roughly how much profit you want to make with each sale)

Bravisa beta launch
2007-05-22 23:04:41
After a couple of years of intense, iterative planning and development we are excited to announce the beta launch of Bravisa. The goal of Bravisa is simple: to make it easy for anyone (bloggers, webmasters, entrepreneurs, etc.) to enjoy the benefits of a retailer without the burden of buying, stocking, shipping, or servicing products. Background Two and a half years ago a small group of people got together to take a fresh look at the online commerce world to tackle some of the challenges posed by existing business models. We concluded that in the traditional commerce world the only winners were large retailers and big name brand manufacturers. Bloggers, product enthusiasts, and other individuals who were driving commerce by influencing the purchasing decisions of consumers were not realizing financial benefits commensurate with their contribution. Small manufacturers making high quality products but with limited marketing resources were not experiencing much success with online com

E-commerce APIs
2007-05-15 16:41:06
Ah, another beautiful day in the bay area. It started out with the morning chill and clouds but that was bound to make way for the sun. I myself am not a sunchaser but I prefer warm to cold. As the sun shined brightly outside I spent the better part of yesterday and today going over Google Checkout’s integration guide. It is very detailed and nicely explained. I also love the way they’ve set up the sandbox environment. Generally speaking I am very pleased at how nicely e-commerce APIs have evolved. I’m not talking about creating mash-ups with slide.com or youtube videos on myspace. I’m referring to the UPS Online Tools API, USPS web connect, Paypal Website Pro, Google Checkout etc. These guys have gone to great lengths to provide a convenient to use framework for programmers. On the shipping side UPS has my vote for best documentation. Having well defined error codes and examples takes them a long way. There are some quirks I don’t care much for, for inst

PHP 5.2.4 and IIS 6.0
2007-10-01 20:27:07
Phew! One more day dealing with issues between open source software and windows. I love open source software, and Bravisa uses a whole lot of it. That said it is important to stay on top of windows specific requirements. While I’m grateful for PHP I can’t say much about why the config doesn’t work with virtual directories or with multiple websites when you use the windows installer. I spent some time double-checking the parameters and finally ended up using the zip file PHP distribution without the installer, and setting it up manually. Still, Wordpress rocks!!!
