"Mom & Dad" -- "Husband & Wife" Banished by California
2007-10-14 00:08:00
This type of indoctrination has been going on in the government school districts for several years. After years of being written into the curriculum and requiring so called "tolerance training", we are now seeing it being thrust into action full force. Why have so many ignored the issue until now? It is easier to remove a seed than a full grown tree. Here is an excerpt: © 2007 WorldNetDaily.com"Mom and Dad" as well as "husband and wife" have been banned from California schools under a bill signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who with his signature also ordered public schools to allow boys to use girls restrooms and locker rooms, and vice versa, if they choose.Further, homecoming kings now can be either male or female – as can homecoming queensit also forces every hospital in California – even private, religious hospitals – to adopt policies in support of transsexuality, bisexuality, and homosexuality and opens up nonprofit organizations to lawsuits if they exclude members that

Aroma
2007-10-13 09:55:00
This week's theme is smelly. Typically that would have a bad connotation but I figured it didn't have to be that way. There are some things that are smelly simply because they have a strong scent. So I have a pleasing smelly photo for the week!2 Corinthians 2:5For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.

Honor Your Pastor
2007-10-13 00:30:00
October is National Clergy Appreciation Month. Clergy Appreciation National Day of Honoring is October 14th, which is the second Sunday in October. It is Biblical to render honor to those who faithfully serve in this very challenging position, a position of great consequense. Often their service goes unnoticed and unappreciated. This October please make a special effort to honor your Pastor , Elders, Bishops, and Chaplains who preach the Word of God.I Timothy 5:17Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching.1 Thessalonians 5:12-13We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work.

Psalm #130 performed by Sons Of Korah
2007-10-13 00:29:00
I know I have posted about Sons of Korah before but I absolutely love how they put music to the Psalm s. Please take a moment to listen and be blessed. The words to Psalm 130 are below if you want to follow along.Psalm 130Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD;O Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared.I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.To participate in the Saturday Psalm & Praise just follow the link.

T13- Similarities Shared by Toddlers and Teenagers
2007-10-11 06:29:00
We are blessed to have in our home toddlers and teenagers at the same time. As we watch our children grow my husband and I have noticed several similarities between the two.13 Things Toddlers and Teenagers Have in CommonThey can both throw great tantrums. They both think, "I can do it all by myself!"They both need to be reminded to brush their teeth and comb their hair. (usually the boys)They both are a little stinky in the morning. (again, usually the boys)You still wonder if the bedroom has a floor, it is always covered with toys and stuff. They are still your little baby! They both eat more than you think their stomach can hold. They both need to know how much mom and dad love them. They both need to know they are a gift from the Lord. When you are in a hurry they can never find their shoes. They can sleep anywhere! They both like to use the word "mine" too often. They both require too many accessories.

Involuntary Ignorance
2007-10-22 13:01:00
I thought this was a great quote for each and everyone of us, myself included, to consider as we daily evaluate our lives."Involuntary ignorance is not charged against you as a fault; but your fault is this---you neglect to inquire into the things you are ignorant of."~Augustine~

For His Steadfast Love Endures Forever
2007-10-20 00:04:00
Psalm 136Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.Give thanks to the God of gods, for his steadfast love endures forever.Give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his steadfast love endures forever;to him who alone does great wonders, for his steadfast love endures forever;to him who by understanding made the heavens, for his steadfast love endures forever;to him who spread out the earth above the waters, for his steadfast love endures forever;to him who made the great lights, for his steadfast love endures forever;the sun to rule over the day, for his steadfast love endures forever;the moon and stars to rule over the night, for his steadfast love endures forever;to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt, for his steadfast love endures forever;and brought Israel out from among them, for his steadfast love endures forever;with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, for his steadfast love endures forever;to him who divided the Red Sea in two, for hi

Like the Eye Which Sees Everything.....
2007-10-28 08:37:00
“Like the eye which sees everything in front of it and never sees itself, faith is occupied with the Object upon which it rests and pays no attention to itself at all. While we are looking at God, we do not see ourselves--blessed riddance. The man who has struggled to purify himself and has had nothing but repeated failures will experience real relief when he stops tinkering with his soul and looks away to the perfect One.” ... A. W. Why Some Evangelicals are Throwing Out Birth Control
2007-10-27 10:44:00
I stumbled across a good article today. It is always encouraging to find other like minded Christians. This article is entitled, "Why some Evangelicals are Throwing Out Birth Control ". It is not a big indepth article however it is a good introduction. Maybe one day I will blog about our story and the scriptural mandate. Below are a few snippets from this article. Take a moment to follow the link to read the whole thing. All along there were families like ours, who somehow came to the conclusion that it might be best to buck popular wisdom – and even church culture – to put God in charge of their family size. The bottom line is this: If as Christians we are called not to be conformed to the pattern of this world (Romans 12:2), shouldn’t we question the worldly assumption that children are burdens rather than blessings? And if we did, wouldn’t it follow that our words would reflect that truth and that families would look different? Why Some Evangelicals are Throwing Out

Protestant Prayer Beads
2007-10-26 01:08:00
Did you even know these existed? We have had some for a while but I have not as of yet put them to personal use, but I love the idea. For Protestants who do not have a fear of looking too much like a Catholic they can be really a great tool! These prayer beads serve basically the same purpose the Five Finger Prayer lesson did when I was little only with more depth. The Five Finger Prayer was a tangible way of focusing a child's prayer time, prayer beads can do the same for adults. There is much symbolism in the beads themselves. They tell the story of the Gospel.Christian Prayer Beads begin with the cross, the ultimate Christian symbol, and thirty-three beads (representing the numbers of years Christ lived on earth) in four groups of seven called weeks. Among other things, these groups of seven represent the days of Creation and the Biblical number for perfection. These are separated by four (usually larger) beads which are called the "Cruciform" beads because they form the po

Flag-Folding Recitation Banned at Veterans Cemeteries Nationwide
2007-10-26 00:23:00
While America now caters to the minority few who want things their way or the highway, those who ultimately promote intolerance in the name of tolerance, have done it again. Now our veterans who have fought so hard for the freedom of others can no longer be honored by way of the flag-folding recitation at veteran cemeteries. Here are a few snippets from the news articles.... Through thousands of military burials, Memorial Honor Detail volunteers at Riverside National Cemetery have folded the American flag 13 times and recited the significance of every fold to survivors of those being laid to rest. A single complaint lodged against the words for the 11th fold recently prompted the National Cemetery Administration to ban the entire recital at all 125 national cemeteries. "It is a perfect example of government choosing to ignore religion in order to avoid offending some religions," Miller said. "To me, ignoring religion in general is just as problematic as endorsing any one religion."Re

You Call That Homeschooling??
2007-10-25 17:03:00
I ran across this article today and laughed, I can so relate. It is well worth the read. Sometimes in a homeschoolers life things do not always go as planned. In fact, there are days where nothing seems to go right. It is in these times that we can learn great lessons from our Lord. If we cooperate with Him we will reap benefits beyond belief. Below is a snippet of the conclusion of this funny, exasperating, and encouraging article. But if you want the funny parts you will have to follow the link and read for yourself!I want to encourage you to remember that your primary life-goal as a mother is build strong moral character in our children to ultimately bring them to Christ and glorify Him. I am increasingly aware that homeschooling is just as much about me changing and growing in Christ-likeness as it is about my kids and their studies. God has called us to be joyful mothers of children. Every act you do for your little ones is making a loud and clear statement about God. This

Pleasant Words are a Honeycomb
2007-10-25 08:07:00
As a mother it is my responsibility to instruct my children. As a homeschooling mother I also instruct them in their educational studies. This is not always a pleasant task. It is often easier to point out the errors and faults. This is something that of course must be done. If one does not see the error or fault how are they to see a need for correction? However, if all we do is point out areas that need correction our children will become discouraged and begin to resent or even reject our instruction. Parents must also point out those things which are done well and praise them. The things we choose to praise often reflect the things that we wish our children to see as most important. We praise our children and tell them how proud we are for times when they exercise patience, show kindness, act selflessly, share, care for others, are obedient, and make wise decisions. We will also say good job on a well completed school assignment. Have you been an encouragement to your chil

T13- Ways in Which I am Blessed
2007-10-25 08:06:00
It was brought to my attention last week that my post seemed more like complaining rather than taken in the spirit of humor. I do believe it is a false picture of Christianity to show that things are always going great without admitting to the struggles and frustrations we face. However, the post last week was intended to be lighthearted. It was suggested to me that I offer a list blessings, so today that is what I will do.13 Ways in which I am Blessed God has given me an amazing, godly, loving, hard-working, self-sacrificing husband.I am blessed beyond measure with my 8 children.I am able to worship the Lord Jesus Christ without fearing for my life.I am legally able to do what God has called me to do in raising, teaching, and training my children by being able to home educate them without secular, atheistic, & humanistic influence. We have access to medical care. The Lord has blessed us by giving us several children after a reversal. We live in a beautiful home that we fit in!We do
