Deicide - Hallendale, FL 10/31/98 Halloween 2007-09-05 14:42:00 Deicide was formed in Tampa, Florida in 1987, first playing under the name Carnage. After Glen Benton joined the name was changed to Amon. During this time they released two demos: Feasting the Beast (1987) and Sacrificial (1989). In 1989 the band's name was changed to Deicide by force of Roadrunner Records, as Amon was the name of the house in the King Diamond album "Them". Deicide then released their self-titled debut album in 1990.The band's original lineup consisted of Glen Benton on bass and vocals, brothers Eric and Brian Hoffman on guitars, and Steve Asheim on drums. Both Eric and Brian tended to play complex solos at fast speeds and with overlapping riffs, which gave Deicide the definitive heavy sound and complex song structures. This lineup remained intact until November 25, 2004 in the wake of increasing animosity between Glen Benton and the Hoffman brothers - allegedly in regards to royalties and publishing. Gorgoroth - Live In Laberinto 2004 2007-08-29 10:24:00 Gorgoroth was founded in Norway by Hat (vocals), Goat (drums) and Infernus (guitars) in 1992. The name Gorgoroth is taken form the book Lord of The Rings, Gorgoroth is a dark and lifeless field where evil grows. In 1993 Gorgoroth released their first demo called "A Sorcery Written In Blood", Kjettar joined in on bass for that demo, but left right after.After the demo, Gorgoroth signed to Embassy Rec. where they also released their first album, "Pentagram" in 1994. Samoth of Emperor did the bass on Pentagram. After the the release of Pentagram, Goat and Samoth left the band.In 1996 Gorgoroth signed to Malicious Rec. which re-released Pentagram, the same year Gorgoroth released their second album Antichrist. Obituary - Live in Dublin 2007-08-24 08:31:00 Obituary is one of the pioneering bands of the death metal genre. The band hailed from Tampa, Florida, founded as Xecutioner in 1985. Shortly before the release of their debut album, they changed their name to Obituary. They still remain an influential band of the Florida death metal movement that arose in the late 1980s. Their 1990 release Cause of Death is hailed as a seminal album in the genre, and vocalist John Tardy is recognized as one of the first vocalists to use an abnormally low growl (compared to the screechy growls used by predecessors Death and Possessed).The band disbanded in 1997, and reformed in 2003.
