i-SOBOT, the smalles robot in the world 2007-09-10 08:35:02 If Asimov were still alive today we would most certainly be thrilled to see how robots steadily make this way throught, from a industrial environment, to peoples houses, the i-SOBOT being a great example .
Weighing less at 1 kilogram, i-SOBOT is base on 17 actuators and gyro-sensors so it can move its limbs, walk and maintain it’s balance. All in all i-SOBOT is capable for doing 200 pre-programmed movements and recognizes 200 words. i-SOBOT can be controlled via remote or by voce. This little wonder of modern engineering costs about 299$ on Amazon.com.

The return of the SanDisk Sansa View 2007-09-10 08:26:15 As you well know, earlier this year SanDisk introduced the Sansa
View, a new widescreen flash-based portable media player. Right after this announcement , something came up and they had to cancel the release. At that time they declared that they wanted to “re-scope the product” and “develop a PMP that will meet the needs of the market” . The result is the all-new Sansa View, a completely different device that seems more like a proper successor to SanDisk’s much-loved Sansa e200 series.
The Sansa View is a smaller player that does improve on the e200 series in lots of important ways. It can store up to 16GB, made it thinner (about 8.8mm at its thinnest), added better video codec support (MPEG4, WMV, and h.264), increased the screen size and resolution (to 2.4-inches and 320 x 240 pixels), eliminated that dedicated voice recorder button which we were always accidentally pressing, and replaced the sub-par music control buttons with a clickable scroll wheel

iTunes 7.4.1 already released 2007-09-08 04:50:41 Apple did already release a new version of iTunes
tonight, 7.4.1, and we’ve found some tests that shows if update “fixes” the ringtone-renaming hack (if you really want to call it a hack) that lets users supply their own ringtones sans Apple’s $0.99 fee. This thing it may be legal (probably), but the hack did not continue to work just fine for us.
The one who tested this feature was able to add new renamed ringtones but the iTunes 7.4.1 blockk the renamed ringtone workaround moving forward. The initial syncs went unblocked, but only until new ringtone files were added.

Toast messages to go 2007-09-07 17:49:44 How many times did you leave a message on a sticky note for your loved ones, on the fridge and no one ever noticed it? To many times, I’m certain.
That’s why a toaster that’s capable of inscribing diverse messages
on toast bread could be a spark of genius. And that’s exactly what the Sasha Tseng concept does. A toaster, that has on the superior part a plaiting on which we can write the desired note, input the slice of bread inside and wait… In the span time it would take a regular toaster to finish your toast, the gadget ‘writes’ your message, thus delivering a ‘eccentric’ morning note. That is of course if the family isn’t to sleepy to notice what their eating.
Write the message…
Introduce the bread and wait.
And voila! Toast
a la letter.

Apple’s new LED-backlit MacBook Pro [Bloglines Clip Blog] 2007-06-05 15:19:00 Technical details about Apple
’s new release of an LED-backlit laptop :
All 15-inch MBPs now use LED-backlit displays standard; 17-inchers still use CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent)Apple claims users can see a battery-life benefit of between 30
mins - 1 hour (depending on use). They did not have stats on exact
efficiencies between LED and CCFL backlit displays. The new LED backlight is the same brightness: 300 vs 300 nits of the previous gen’s CCFLThe viewing angle is also the same as beforeIn other words, besides faster time from fully-off to
full-brightness and an increase in battery life, Apple claims users
should notice absolutely no perceivable difference between last-gen
displays and the new LED-backlit ones. Read more:MacBook

Everun UMPC from Raon [Bloglines Clip Blog] 2007-06-05 15:17:16 Here’s a newsflash. For the first time we can se a UMPC with a
vertical display. And yet it looks good and apparently easy to use due
to its keyboard positioned under the display. My first notable
impression is it’s weight. It weighs 460 grams, which is the idle
measurement for a UMPC.
From a specs point of view, i could see some very impressive things
: a AMD Geode LX 900 processor, which works at 600 Mhz, 512 MB of RAM
memory (can be extended to 1 GB), it’s enough to power this device and
you can run Office like applications. The display is a 4.8 inch one,
touchscreen, with a 800×600 resolution. The OS is Microsoft Windows
Home Edition, it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the battery life expectancy,
announced by the Raon, is 7-8 hours for the standard battery and 11-12
hours for the supplementary one.
It’s storage is a standard 60 GB hardrive and a optional 6 GB SSD.
A notable feature of the device i Read more:Bloglines

Phone services through PlayStation Portable [Bloglines Clip Blog] 2007-06-01 18:40:45 British Telecommunications PLC (BT) announced that it wants to offer
phone services through PlayStationPortable
(PSP).The British
telecomuncation company is curently working on a sot wich enables them
to make phone calls via the internet, using the Sony console. That
requires the consoles to be fitted with a video camera in order to make
video calls.PSP already has a Wi-Fi adaptor.
BT says that the service will be extended for Europe,Africa and
Australia.Bt will have full support from Sony Computer Entertainment
Europe Ltd.But it seems highly unlikely that this sort of phone service
will be available in the US or Asia because BT developes this service
and not Sony.
Last year the PSP sales droped considerably, under the Sony
ecpectations, and so the company looks for new ways to attract customers.

The Halo 3 video game earned the title of “highest grossing U.S. entertainment launch day” after reaching $170 million
in the first day of sales. Microsoft enjoyed the record breaking day and we understand them because they’ve worked hard on this release. Whether or not the sales will continue to climb at such a rapid rate remains to be seen, but as we see , the boys in Redmond shouldn’t worry too much about their gaming division as they’re poised to finally turn a profit thanks to Halo 3.

Bang & Olufsen Form 2, a different kind of headsets 2007-09-27 08:28:48 Bang & Olufsen
Fom 2 are a pair of headsets, but not of the ordinary kind, but ones that wish to transpose acoustic quality of the Bang & Olufsen sound systems into a mobile toy, which allows you to enjoy your favorite songs on the road or at home, without any disruption from the outside. Of course this task isn’t a easy one, but the producers state that this pair of headsets achieve a perfect balance between bass, high and medium sounds, and those who’ve tested it apparently vouch for it.
Form 2 impresses through it’s looks, in the true Bang & Olufsen spirit, the square shaped design of the acoustic unit is dazzling. The previous doesn’t have noise cancelling technology, so that it’s perfect for outside use, where it’s quite dangerous not to hearing in your sorroundings. On the first place however are ergonomics and confort , Form 2 being very light (68 g) and built in with a 3m cable, a bit too long to fit in the mobility concept, if w Read more:different
