It was by Kathy McGraw titled Honesty..... Did you earn your AR points fairly or did you find a loophole? She talked about a group on Active Rain that basically just comments on each others blog to increase their points. To those people doing that, do you really feel a sense of accomplishment? Who's fault is the mortgage 'meltdown' or whatever you call it? You? Me? Everyone? 2007-09-14 09:43:30 These days, I see all kinds of finger-pointing. Most even make good points, and lots of people agree, sometimes people disagree. You have predatory lenders. You have predatory brokers. You have predatory banks. You have Realtors that contribute to the problems. You have the borrower themselves that have caused part of the problem. Think about it, EVERYONE to some degree has contributed. Rather than continuing to finger-point, even with valid good reason, let's FIX the problems! There are lots to fix! I certainly do not profess to have all the answers or solutions, because I certainly do NOT! I see many given on various blogs on AR and even in the media. Understanding more about eNotarizations (and the Electronic Notary) 2007-09-13 08:39:49 Not long ago, I was contacted by a woman in OH, who was trying to have her husbands signature (who was in Iraq) notarized. One thing everyone must know about eNotarizations, at least in the state of Florida (& I would imagine most states) is the the same rules of notaries applies with eNotarizations as regular notarizations on paper. You must appear in person, if required (Jurat) sign & receive an oath in person, and everything else, in person, the only difference is, the DOCUMENT. The document is in electronic form, not printed on paper. And you sign it electronically, in whatever method your state permits. While it may be unlikely, if you are on camera, there is the possibility your are being forced or coerced into signing. And being in person, I as a notary have a better potential to see any potential coercion and refuse notarization. Where to get your Free Credit Report - (NOT the one you need to pay) 2007-09-10 08:52:18 https://www.annualcreditreport.comIt is a shame Experian has chosen freecreditreport.com, and then try so hard to make you pay for it. I was at a borrowers house the other day for a signing, and they wanted their reports, but said that site is a rip-off and not free. I had to correct them, that site is run by Experian, who wants you to pay for the report, but there is a free site that REALLY IS FREE, so you can get your free report from each bureau once a year. I even spread this out, I get the report from #1 on January, #2 in May, and #3 in October. While I realize they are not all the same, at least I get each report once every 12 months as allowed, AND they are spread out over the year so I get a watch on the majority of the report every 4 months. Rain, and I have enjoyed blogging, the statistics which really show so many not taking advantage of AR amazes me. With this blog post, I am moving into the top 100 in my state. In Florida, that is actually the hardest state to get into the top 100, so obviously more see the benefits of AR in Florida than any other state. CA which actually has the highest number of members, but with my score, if I lived in that state, I actually would be 92nd in the state. I would actually be #1 in six, yes six states. I would be in the top 5 of 19 states! That is not percentages, it is actual ranking - amazing! My average ranking in all fifty states plus DC, would be 15th!! There are only two states I would not be in the top 50, FL & CA. And only WA,TX, IL, GA & AZ would be the other states that I would NOT be in the top 25. . A terrific city with lots to offer. As far as sports in the area, they have Pro Football NFL Buccaneers, and Arena Football Storm (5 time world Champion) and home of NHL Hockey Tampa Bay Lightning. Just four years ago, they got off to a 6-0 start of their season. They went on to win the Stanley Cup that year! Hockey in Florida, most people can't even picture that with such a warm climate! How long does it take to get AR referrals 2007-10-04 23:17:23 When I joined Active Rain a few weeks ago, I could see it was a great place and immediately saw its' potential. So of course I joined and started commenting and blogging. I saw several people taking about the business they got the AR, and all of its' benefits. I knew it was a matter of time, a few days, weeks, or months. But I knew eventually, I would get SOMETHING from AR. I wondered how long it would take. I now know the answer. Sure enough, now, less than six weeks since I started, I have my first business that I can directly attribute to AR. 30,000 and climbing. . WOW THANKS to everyone here at AR!! 2007-10-21 16:18:49 Again, to all of you that don't like numbers, run, run far away! OR click away fast, I should say. As I pass the 30,000 points here on AR, it still amazes me how many still do not take advantage of AR, but all the better for the rest of us! Going from 20,000 points to 30,000 increases my average rating from 14.7 in the 50 states plus DC, to 11.9. And again, that is not percent, that is average number ranking in all the states. And of course, my state remains the hardest to climb with the most competition. I'm just breaking into the top 90 in my state, and the closest to that is the second hardest state to move up - CA, where I would be 73rd. Breaking the the 10,000 mark, put me in the top 3.06%, and that is still a great place, now it puts you in the top 3.14%. Not much, but a little change. , is one of those rare none sunshine days, and off-and-on rain. But I really do not mind it, we need the rain, but more important, it will likely bring cooler weather shortly! For me, in my business, that is a tremendous help in many ways. Because of the transient nature of our population, it means the return of the 'snow'birds' from up north - so more business. It also means cooler weather, and with the printers that I keep in the car, they work better in the cooler temperatures. I also do not need to struggle to protect my document packages from sudden down pours of rain.
