Sai Baba Fraud - Comments and Replies
2007-09-07 04:45:11
Some comments received from Vasudeva S. and replies by Robert Priddy -vasudeva007 Says Aug 18, 1:01 PM Hi Robert Priddy,  I am writing to you after reading some of the material about Satya Sai Baba by you. I have personally seen Baba already having things to materialize in his hand before he actually materialized the objects. Of course I have routinely seen Baba transferring something from left hand to right hand before he creates vibuthi. I have seen this one instance where he had a sugar candy in his left hand before he materialized and gave it to a boy who was caughing. But I do have to say that I have also seen him create things out of no where and by blowing at the objects they get vanished. I am at loss what to beleive and what not to beleive. Are this all the tricks Baba is performing on a doubting being like me? Some of my friends tell me all these are Baba’s leela’s and I should forget about them and one can never understand Baba’s ways. Regards S. vasudeva007 Says Au

GODS OF GODS ABOVE ALL GODS - SATHYA SAI?
2007-09-06 02:55:55
Even if you believe only half you hear, you are in deep trouble with the following claims by Sai Baba. Will he go down in history as the Saviour of Mankind from global disaster (as he claims) and human evil? If so, he would necessarily displace Jesus Christ and Christianity, Jehova and Judaism, Buddha and Buddhism, Islam and Allah and Whoever and Whatever? One must certainly hope not - if only for the sake of human rationality and progress in empowering people to improve their lot and that of the world rather than become fixated in prayer to God and his traditional “teachings” about fate and the futility of worldly engagements. His many deceptions - so firmly demonstrated here and elsewhere - and his bogus  ”universal religion” are accepted by a long line of Indian Presidents and Prime Ministers - and also by those of today and much of the Indian Government! It is an enigma… for can they truly believe in the following words of Sathya Sai

Sai Baba on two boys reborn as his dogs
2007-09-05 02:40:13
From page 114 of Hislop’s book (old. Ed.) and 125 (new ed.)In the early 1970s, Dr. John Hislop interviewed Sai Baba at length.  These interviews were recorded and published in his book ‘Conversations with Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’ (Sai Publications Trust), which became the authoritative popular source book for many about Sai Baba and his various teachings. It is packed with ‘incredible’ stories and bizarre statements by Sai Baba. According to Indian scriptural beliefs in reincarnation, ‘merging’ (with the Infinite) is a process which never leads to rebirth. Also, rebirth of former human beings as animals is either rejected as impossible or considered a punishment for horrendous deeds in life. Two so blessed as to be close friends of an avatar could not have such a fate.  Hislop makes clear: “Those childhood companions, they must have been quite special. Was their further destiny unusual also?”, to which Sai Baba replies “they merged in me&rd

Sai Baba’s Divine Eye-in-the-Sky that sees through all?
2007-09-04 04:08:44
How many people on average will believe that the above image is a genuine one… how many may suspect it has been manipulated? In the Sai movement the majority almost certainly believe it genuine. It has been on sale since the 1980s and the photographer made a real killing! Life in Puttaparthi was and still is harsh and unforgiving to most of its inhabitants, so a little trick that brings in dollars is the obvious thing. But how could it be so successful? The following scan showing Sai Baba ’s claims from Dr. J. Hislop’s book ‘Conversations with Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba can indicate why… Sathya Sai Baba has often boasted about his all-seeing eyes [correction ‘eye’] (note that he has explained how he is blind in the other after a hair-dryer accident, of all things! Funny he didn’t “see” that the hair dryer would blind him? See Damage-containment for Swami’s All-seeing Eye(s)? http://home.no.net/anir/Sai/enigma/Eye.htm )  There have be

The earth’s cool liquid soft-centre - Sai Baba’s “wisdom”
2007-09-03 05:02:40
Journey to the Centre of the Earth? Jules Verne was an imaginative writer, imagining a hollow earth. Now Sathya Sai Baba has seriously debunked that theory! scanned quotation from ‘Conversations with Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’ by Dr. John Hislop Mrs. Robert Bozzani (Rb) put the first questions, after Sai had made his ‘mystical statement’ out of the blue (i.e. “At the centre everything is liquid”).  His explanation is the kind of absurdity that Sathya Sai Baba conveys to his students. One must ask how such untrue fantasy can be deemed worthy of any university anywhere. He assures Bozzani that the teaching of all courses at the University will be like that! He identifies chemistry with liquids and physics with solids… most amusing. His ignorant legend-stuffed villager mentality is to the fore here. But his students surely understand far more of the real &ldquo ;full picture&rdquo ; of science better than he does, even before they start their higher

Miracles: Big Business for the Pope & Sathya Sai Baba
2007-09-02 02:46:51
“I Believe in Miracles” from the BBC shows how miracles and saints are vital to the emotional and financial power of the Catholic Church. (see here) Six million pilgrims per year visit Lourdes, most of them reportedly hoping for a miracle cure from the Lady of Lourdes, who is said to have cured in 87 cases since her visions of the ‘Immaculate Conception’. Despite that, no cure has been confirmed there by the Committee which decides on this since 1987. This does not stop people believing that they have been cured or that others have. That is the name of the game – involving hope, faith, confession, conviction, desperation and witnessing to the Lord’s power etc.  The funds for eight churches in Lourdes have been gathered and business is booming – all kinds of bric-a-brac from icons to rosaries – and bizarrely not even excluding Lourdes ‘pill boxes’ (to supply the very big market of uncured pill-takers, no doubt). This souvenir business is also very flourishing a

APOLOGIST FOR SATHYA SAI BABA
2007-09-01 05:59:19
The only top Sai official who has ever even mentioned the many allegations against Sai Baba - and then only after a period of six years or more had gone by - is Dr. G. Venkataraman. He has shown his true colours, however, in having written a document full of cover-up and false statements aiming to refute the countless allegations against Sai Baba, which has been refuted in its entirety point by point with full documentation (see here). Here is a man who can’t handle two things at once: scientific reservation of judgement with its proof requirements and total and entirely uncritical belief in his living God-guru… so he chooses the latter. I met Venkataraman for an hour or so in the presence of V.K. Narasimhan (18-10-1998, in VKN’s apartment at Prashanthi West 5 together with Mr. Anand, then just installed as Editor of Sanathana Sarathi). When he said anything I must say I did not find it other than bland, which is borne out for me by his writings… commonplace and imprecise, la

G. VENKATARAMAN – CHIEF PROPAGANDIST FOR ‘GOD’
2007-08-31 06:01:46
G. Venkataraman is keen to imprint on his readers that, in studying anything about science, they are observing “The Glory of God”. This is, of course, an assumption and is not even a testable hypothesis, being a vague (undefined and indefinite) conception which is entirely non-operational.  It is wrong to write about science from the viewpoint of a “true believer” in Sathya Sai Baba as God the Creator Incarnate, as Venkataraman does. Dr. Venkataraman takes after Sathya Sai Baba and all others who try to convince through ‘sham reasoning’. Philosopher C.S. Peirce explained this as “pseudo-inquiry aimed not at finding the truth but at making a case for some conclusion immovably believed in advance”.  Trying to foreshorten science to fit onto the Procrustean bed of religious belief, forcing personal and subjective interpretations onto scientific facts and theories – while presenting oneself as ‘a scientist’ while one is writing mainly as a believer is to disquali

Dr. G. VENKATARAMAN - THE MOST GULLIBLE PHYSICIST ALIVE?
2007-08-30 04:27:17
Dr. G. Venkataraman writes in Part 4 of his 7-part series entitled “In Quest of Infinity” on his Radio Sai website “You know, when I think about it all, I am simply wonder struck. On one side of it is God who has created the Universe in which all these wonderful things happen. On the other side, there He is in human form in Parthi, going about as if He is not aware of any of the mysteries in the Universe” See here Dr. G. Venkataraman reviews at length developments in our scientific knowledge of the cosmos… though nothing scientific that is not found in hundreds of books and other media. Venkataraman was a physicist working for the Indian government’s nuclear programme. However, he has copied his information on astronomy from other scientific authorities. Yet he does not once attribute anything he reports to its originators or to other scientific sources! He has even plagiarised text from the Dennis Dutton website, without any mention. Outrigh

Money, Morality and Sai-worshipper Dr. Venkataraman
2007-08-29 02:12:59
Dr. G.  Venkataraman writes a lot about scientific discoveries in his series on the heart-to-heart website which he runs in connection with Radio Sai, but he writes from the standpoint of a religious believer and preacher of morality. There is therefore not much head-to-head communication in it, and - though he reproduces information of a popular scientific kind well enough, the bias is quite a-scientific in spirit. Take for example, his article “4 M’s - MAN, MONEY, MYTH AND MORALITY By Prof. G. Venkataraman“. He firstly dwells on how science has affected technology - simple, well-known high school level stuff.  Economists who were his audience must have been bored stiff with a patronising lecture on such elementary events in the rise of industrial technology known well enough to any educated person. However, he summed up the whole thrust of his lecture as follows: “My central point was that when man goes avidly in quest of wealth, he quickly loses discriminati

More Mysteries at Puttaparthi
2007-09-28 04:04:16
Telugu Newspaper clipping about people vanishing at Puttaparthi. (Translation into English) Praja Shakti, Telugu Daily, Hyderabad Edition dated 11.2.1995, page 2 Dharmavaram, Feb.10: People are worried about the sudden vanishing of 3 persons in Puttaparthi, the well known spiritual center of Sathya Sai Baba. One lady and a foreigner are amongst the missing people. Facts on these missing people are not yet revealed. These are the details. Mr.Sanjay Yadav (31) belonging to Babulgan Town of Yavathmal district in Maharashtra visited Puttaparthi on 19th November 1994. His wife Mrs. Jyothi and his brother-in-law Tharkeshwar reported to the police station that he was missing since November 21st. Similarly on 19.12.1994, Mahamaya Sadhuka (24) belonging to North Jowpore Dahee area of Howrah District of West Bengal, had vanished all of a sudden while making purchases in Puttaparthi with her friends. Her friends N.Gangoolee and M.Supritimanna reported this to the local police station. While th

Sathya Sai Baba’s ashrams, deaths and suicides
2007-09-27 08:01:32
Whole family suicide at Prashanthi Nilayam: 4-12-1998. In a hotel near the Satya Sai Airport, Ramesh aged 42, a multimillionaire industrialist in Tiruchirappally, owner of RMH Corporation, was found dead with seven other family members lying unconscious on the floor frothing at the mouth beside his daughter who already died of a brain tumour the day before. Six died within the day, while one person survived (Shankar). The police concluded that the whole family committed suicide because of the daughter’s death and the shock this was to their faith in Sai Baba, who they had expected to save her. There was a suicide note: “God has forsaken us. I had great affection and love for my daughter. So we are going to the place where she has gone. No one is responsible for our death. I myself have influenced all the members to commit suicide to become one with Sai Baba. We are offering ourselves at his feet. All our properties have to be transferred to the Satya Sai Trust. Sathya Sai Baba thumbs down on humanity
2007-09-26 06:15:51
“Human lives are now passing on and on, filth over filth, bent, broken, diseased, distressed, disheartened. To ennoble these lives and to make the human heritage worth while, I have come.” (Sathya Sai Speaks Voume X, page 136.) COMMENT: Another “sublime statement” by Sai Baba, if a wee bit conceited perhaps? “My Word will never fail; it must happen as I will.” (Sathya Sai Speaks Voume 1, page 198) “There is no one who can change My course or affect My conduct to the slightest extent. I am Master of all.” (Sathya Sai Speaks Voume 1, page 191)COMMENT: But his conduct has been affected by the massive world-wide allegations of sexual abuse, which no one can bring to court in India due to his devotees being in  government and controlling the judiciary… a massive disgrace to India!  He thumped the lectern on Christmas Day, 2000,  threatening his critics very angrily with all manner of retribution through future lives, this “av

Global Warming and Prophesies
2007-09-25 08:11:49
Sathya Sai Baba has claimed he is here to save the world from global catastrophe. Many others have likewise claimed to be the Saviours of mankind, Christ come again, the Messiah, the Mahdi Moud and whatever. It is an easy claim to make, but so far none of them have shown the proof of the pudding! Sai Baba’s many claims and prophesies have been shown to be bogus, either by documentation from his own self-contradictions and ignorance or the course of events. Sathya Sai Baba has had nothing sensible to say about ozone regeneration or global warming Sai Baba has evidently picked up some stray thoughts from visitors and his educated servitors about the ozone layer and CO2 pollution and has mentioned the problem in a few sentences. We see that Sai Baba was unaware that CFC gases were the primary cause of ozone depletion, for he believes that tree-planting (afforestation) could correct ozone depletion. He is ignorant of the science and obviously confuses ozone depletion with CO2 in

India’s prophesied future world leadership?
2007-09-23 09:23:43
The total transformation of India as an engine, not only of economic growth, but also as a shining moral example to the peoples of the world which would regenerate them all and introduce a new Golden Age has frequently been promised by Sathya Sai Baba, such as to the credulous Dr. J. Hislop of the USA. Sathya Sai Baba is India’s top living religious figure, who is worshipped by most of India’s Prime Ministers and Presidents since Indira Gandhi up to the present day (see some of Sai Baba’s preposterous claims here!). Judge for yourself whether Sai Baba’s prophesies are proving to have ANY results.Consider how India has developed a major nuclear arsenal and a huge military machine - a threat to its neighbours. Does this give India the moral highground? So much for the much vaunted non-violence policy and the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, on which most of India’s fame rested once! The social and economic inequality in India, despite its considerable present we

Sai Baba’s ‘Religious Universalism’ is based on gross ignorance
2007-09-22 15:49:44
Sathya Sai Baba has preached with extreme insistence and constant repetitively that all religions have the same essential, good values. This is very easy to say, but not possible to back up reasonably, let alone prove - especially to the heads of the main religions. The present Pope, for example, leader of over 600 million Catholics, rejects as heretical all religious doctrines which do not accept the primacy of Jesus Christ. Islam rejects Hinduism at a very most basic level - that God cannot incarnate in a human body (as Sathya Sai Baba constantly claims for himself) and cannot be represented in any idol (while Hinduism accepts thousands of deities and idols of all kinds). Judaism awaits a Messiah, but Sathya Sai Baba most evidently does not fulfil their conditions so Judaism does not proclaim him as their Messiah. Buddhism, in the main, rejects the whole idea of a God Creator of the Universe, as Sai Baba claims he is. What Sathya Sai Baba also asserts again and again is that all th

Sai Baba and the lunatic fringe

Lissen is clairvoyant and an artist, but she does not wish to waste energy by interfering in God’s work, so she began to eat again. (Photo: Kristian Linnemann) Sai Baba saved Lissen, who once lived only on light! Under the title ‘Brown rice is the new light’ Michael Jeppersen of the Danish National Newspaper Ekstra Bladet  [17. sep. 2007] describes his meeting with a Danish Sai Baba follower called Lissen Seligmann. Apropos, the Danish Sathya Sai Organization, led by Thorbjørn Meyer of Handelshøyskole in Copenhagen, has been propagandising for visits to Sathya Sai Baba for many years. Here is a report on one result of such a visit: - Journalist Jeppersen joined a Biodynamic Consumer meeting in Copenhagen’s Fredriksberg, sat in a circle where participants presented themselves. One was an Indian man who does not eat, drink or sleep. Another was Judith who still does not eat, but unfortunately has fallen ill.  Others have tried to live without food or drink, others would like

Indian Development, Religious Myth and Superstition
2007-09-20 07:15:41
Indian Chief Minister insists that Rama is just a myth But political turmoil over the proposed channel which would go through the imagined ‘Rama’s bridge’ to Sri Lanka  continues unabated.  Indian parents have overwhelmingly brough up their children to believe in Rama as God but also as a historical person. The Ramayana story is taken as fact by a vast number of Indians. This is not surprising since India never had a tradition of historical recording until the British became predominant there. As one small example, even now, many Indian books are published without the date of publication anywhere to be seen. Indian mythology is so ingrained in the life (and the countless thousands of temples or shrines) that it could be said to be ‘omnipresent’.  People will claim without blinking that this is the footprint or the tooth of Buddha, this is where Hanuman flew across the sea to Sri Lanka, or this is the mountain Hanuman carried on his back, and so on.

Report: few Westerners stay in or even visit Sai ashrams
2007-09-19 05:31:57
Another of the many confidential ex-devotee contacts of mine has a friend still living in Whitefield who sometimes looks in on the ashram there. This person reports that there are not many Western people who want to be involved with Sai Baba anymore. ”He is a prisoner in his own ‘ashram’, kept is kept well and truly behind iron bars, all be it they are fancy ones.” My contact also thinks that the Indian govt. has a hand in everything going on there nowadays, having turned Puttaparthi into a tourist venue for all Indians - religious or not - makes no difference to them. That they brought in hoards of lower class Indians had the effect of getting rid of most of the Westerners, who were not wanted there anyway and who seldom get any attention nowadays even in the ‘drive-past darshans’. The entire Sai Baba thing seems over for most Westerners. Recent photos and videos one can see on various Sai Baba websites hardly ever show a white face!

Sathya Sai Baba’s Megalomania in full bloom
2007-10-02 04:33:47
Note that five Prime Ministers of India, including the present Manmohan Singh, have accepted Sathya Sai Baba and the Indian Government protects him militarily and the judiciary from any court cases against him! Also the past three Presidents of India! Are all these people living in a deranged wonderland?  Excerpt from Dr. G. Venkataraman’s fabulating Radio Sai “But Bhagavan had said He would go. And so, on the due date, He set forth with a few dignitaries to East Godavari. When they approached the river it was in full spate. The district officials tried to dissuade the party from attempting to cross the bridge. They insisted that Swami had to give a declaration that He is taking the journey at His own risk. Consider the irony of the situation where God had to assure them of what He does. “Nothing Will Happen To Anyone Who Is With Me!”Bhagavan wrote there: “Nothing will happen to anyone who is with Me!” Who can give this assurance except the Lord of the Universe?

How standpoints change as understanding progresses
2007-10-01 06:26:41
As writer of this blog, I would like to inform visitors that my current standpoint as regards Sathya Sai Baba has changed very considerably since I first became disaffected. Having had to discard the belief in his truthfulness, despite my attempt to explain away the mounting mass of evidence to the contrary, which is an attitude typical of those who have been his followers, and understandably so when one’s contribution has lasted for decades and one’s entire project has been to forward what one believed was his genuine goodness.  Having studied every single writing of Sathya Sai Baba - concentrating on the positive aspects and disregarding what failed to make sense or seemed misguided (explaining this away in many different ways from bad translation to his inscrutability and ‘testing’ of faith etc.) I grew more and more uncomfortable. I had trustingly accepted that his materialisation were genuine, they seemed so and thousands insisted they were. But I was as

False Predictions by India’s Revered “Omniscient Avatar”
2007-09-30 09:01:35
Some Predictions by Sathya Sai Baba, guru worshipped by India ’s Prime Ministers and Presidents: An example which many readers of Dr. Hislop’s Conversations with Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba will have wondered much about is the prediction made there in 1968 by Baba in contradicting Hislop. Hislop suggested that Baba’s students would come into positions of influence in 20 or 30 years, when they are in their thirties or older. Baba insisted that in only 10 years there would be a great change in the Indian nation as a result (while still in their 20’s). We also read there: Sai: &ldquo ;In India people reach positions of power and influence earlier in life. Even now there are a number of examples throughout the nation… The students say that when they grow up they will do as Sai wills. As positions open in every area of the Indian society, these young men will occupy the positions. Wherever they go they will influence and change the society for the better. Corr

Cover-up of Murder at the Sathya Sai College, Puttaparthi
2007-09-29 05:05:15
Narendra Nayak in Indian Skeptic On 27th Febuary, 1987, the body of a youth was discovered near a depression in the ground at Alike, a small village near Mangalore in Karnataka State. The crowd collected, and the body was identified as that of Lokayya Pujari, a first year PUC student of the Junior College run by Satya Sai Lokashikshana Trust. This village incidentally is the centre of activities of Satya Sai Baba. An educational complex under the name of Satya Sai Lokashikshana Trust, with a primary school, high school and a junior college are being run by this Trust. The trust owns the land and buildings while the expenses of the institution are taken care of by the state government, being a state aided institution. Thus at the expense of the state, the Trust carries on the cult activities of brain washing the students to believe in the godhood of Satya Sai Baba.Immediately the authorities of the Trust swung into action to label this as a case of suicide by influencing the top offi

Sai Baba as the Islamic Saviour ‘Mahdi’?
2007-10-11 07:52:13
Sathya Sai Baba has been heralded as the Islamic messiah, the Mahdi and much has been written to try to prove he is the one… it is even publicised in a faked translation of Persian prophetic texts in Sai Baba’s self-glorifying Chaitanya Jyoti museum at Prashanthi Nilayam. It appears, however, that he is not accepted as the Mahdi by certain prominent religious-political Islamic figures…. President “Ahmadi-nezhad’s main event was at the U.N. General Assembly on September 26, 2007: As he did last year in the same venue, he opened by praying to Allah to “hasten the arrival of Imam al-Mahdi….” “Missed by some observers in Ahmadinejad’s speech at the U.N. was his call to the “mighty Lord” to hasten the emergence of “the promised one,” the one who “will fill this world with justice and peace.” International news community deaf to Ahmadinejad’s Mahdi belief? Who is Sai Baba and what is Robert Priddy’s agenda?
2007-10-10 11:17:02
Anyone who reads a fair selection of my webpages about Sathya Sai Baba may ask why I am so concentrated on exposing his faults, lies, deceptions, failed promises and prophesies, and on bringing forth the allegations against him for widespread  sexual abuses, murder complicity and cover-up. So why do I no longer – as once I did – praise him, promote his teachings or enthuse about any good works he has done? (More to the point, his followers’ works done in his name) The simple answer is that I discovered what a huge abuse of faith he perpetrates on his followers. I was taken in until I learned despite all my hopes and wishes that he is involved in lies, crime and major deception. Therefore I cannot recommend his in ANY way, whatever else he may have done, good or indifferent. Moreover, I have a duty to make known what I have learned that only few others who dare speak out know to be true, to protect the vulnerable and provide the information for those who do not wish to f

Sai Baba postpones moon buggy ride

Click on above banners to read their accounts Google News Alert for: Sathya Sai Baba Thousands disappointed as Sai Baba’s ‘moon miracle’ fails Waning popularity! This was no doubt another in a long, long line of calculated ‘rumours’ for the grinding minds of devotees who can’t find out what’s going on and are dead keen to know anything… But why Sathya Sai Baba went to the airport is truly a mystery in itself, for he knew he could never appear on the moon. How can this be explained? There are many possible interpretations (for the blindfolded believer to choose between)… 1) He was on the moon allright but the clouds were necessary to hide his blinding brilliance. 2) But perhaps the crowds misunderstood him and expected a great mahima miracle… instead of the vague shape of the Sai afro frizz which can just about be visualised from the moon’s darker area. His afro-frizz can vaguely be seen if one is very willing i

More Sathya Sai Baba Moon Madness
2007-10-19 07:00:05
Viswa Virat Swaroop darshan - “Moon Darshan” Sai Baba ’s absurd and utterly failed attempt to engender interest and faith in the minds of his Indian followers by pretending he would be seen on the moon on the eve of October 4 th - apparently only from the Sathya Sai Airport is not the only lunar escapade he has contrived. In one of the best-selling Indian books about him,  Baba: Sathya Sai in two volumes by Ra. Ganapati of Madras,  Sathya Sai Baba is reported as doing  many literally incredible miracles like ‘bringing down the moon to earth’.  These accounts  defy all reason and common sense, and the claims  obviously cannot be checked, any more than can the stories in ‘Sindbad the Sailor’ or ‘Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves’. However, one can give Ganapati and his informants near to 100% for imaginative fantasy. See here:- Ganapati wrote that on 8/12/1973 on a stop with Sathya Sai between Prashanthi Nilayam and Brindavan devotees threw st
