The Roberts were unable to conceive children and decided to use a surrogate father to start their family.
On the day the proxy father was to arrive, Mr. Roberts kissed his wife goodbye and said, “Well, I’m off now; the man should be here soon.”
Half an hour later, just by chance, a door-to-door baby photographer happened to ring the doorbell, hoping to make a sale.
Good morning, Ma’am”, he said, “I’ve come to…”
Oh, no need to explain,” Mrs. Roberts cut in, embarrassed, “I’ve been expecting you.”
“Have you really?” said the photographer. “Well, that’s good. Did you know babies are my specialty?”
“Well that’s what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a seat”

google’s picasa - how to use 2007-09-05 21:45:40 I uses Picasa most of the time to enhance my photographs. I find it more simple and useful if compared to a much complicated Adobe Photoshop. Here some steps on how to use this tool.
Step 1: Double click to open the picture you would like to enhance
Step 2: Now you are in the editing view
Step 3: Click the Tuning tab, adjust Highlights to increase the brightness and adjust the Shadows to increase the contrast of the photo. This photo color too warm, I have adjusted the Color Temperature to left to reduce the warmness.
Step 4: Now click on Effects tab for more enhancement. I have selected Saturation and to give the photo a little bit more vivid.
Step 5: Next, I click Glow to give the photo some gauzy glow feel.
Step 6: I would like to make the blue sky darker to simulate polarizer effect. I have used Graduated Tint and adjust the Feather value to maximum to give the smoothest feel and increase the Shade value to darken the sky.
Now I am done and satisfied with the result and I am
google’s picasa - image-cataloging software 2007-09-04 20:49:08 With more people keeping digital artwork and photographs on their computers in bulk, image-cataloguing software is a booming sector. One absolutely free option that you might want to try is Google’s Picasa.
Picasa is more like a great photo organizer than it is a photo editor. It does have some features to fix photo mistakes. The greatest feature of this product is its organizing capabilities. It is also one of the easiest to use programs that I have used. The screens are simple, friendly and intuitive. There are also some limited ways to share your photos including a unique online sharing method called “Hello.”
This software is Vista compatible.
Pros
Picasa is free. Integrates with other free Google services (Blogger, Web Albums, and Hello).
Picasa is extremely easy to use.
Provides good red-eye removal, quick fixes and effects, and online sharing options.
Editing info is stored in INI files, making all edits reversible without saving multiple versions.

photoshop LAB color 2007-09-03 22:59:38
LAB is one of the most prominent ways of many to define color. The L stands for Luminosity or Lightness, and the A and the B don’t actually stand for anything, but refer to the ‘green-red axis’ and ‘blue-yellow axis’ respectively. Accurately describing color on a whole is very difficult; an easy example to describe this is the color red. Everyone knows via RGB definition that red is universally referred to as 255,0,0.
However, for you to know the exact color someone is describing, you would need to look at what Photoshop Color Settings they have, due to the number of different definitions there are for RGB. This is where LAB Color comes in, as there is only one Photoshop LAB setting.
1. The first step is to find and image. I’ve selected this image because it has some details to demonstrate the LAB correction in action. However, you can also follow this tutorial with your own images. This photo is contributed by Philipcs.

urban sunset 2007-09-28 06:41:39 Do you like to shoot sunset? However you do not have time to go to beach or mountain? Not a problem, sunsets are ubiquitous. No matter where you live, you get one every day. You can also shoot sunset at your door step or through your high rise office windows.
Here are some of the techniques I used to shoot sunset:
Stable Your Camera – The best way to stable your camera is mount your camera on tripod. Nothing beat this option. Beside that, use remote release cable or IR remote release to trigger the shutter in order to prevent camera shake.
Camera Setting – I always use Aperture Priority mode and use the lowest ISO. If your camera have Sunset scene mode, use it, camera will decide the optimum setting for you. The most important is turning your camera flash OFF.
Light Metering – Try to having a bit of under-exposure will allow you to get more vivid colors of the setting sun. There are two ways to achieve correct exposure when
web tool of the month - september ‘07 2007-09-27 03:39:37
PP showed me this website this morning. Its a cool website to edit your photo online. I’ve explored it and find it way too cool hence I’ll share this out with you guys.
This website is called Picnik. It is Flash based, and so far its the fastest of the bunch. User interface wise, it is the most intuitive. I like this site’s color scheme, its soft colours is the current trend.
You’ll need to register to use this tool. Complete the simple registration form and you’re free to use the tool. One thing that I like about this tool is you’re able to open your photos from flickr, picasa, facebook and photobucket. I chose to connect to my photobucket’s images.
Some other cool features that comes with this web application are auto-fix, rotate, crop, resize, exposure, colors, sharpen and reducing red-eye. You can undo and redo the changes and also zoom in and out of your photo. Wow, thats way too cool and convenient. You should go and try it out an Read more:lsquo
how to correct converging verticals 2007-09-23 22:37:33
Converging verticals problem is common when you are taking photos of buildings, especially with wide angle lens. This happens when you point the camera upwards to include the top of the building.
Some likes this distorting effect to create striking building images. To get this effect, all you need to do is to get closer to the building and point your camera upwards to make an extreme viewpoint.
For those who don’t like this effect, there are ways to correct the distortion. In this tutorial, I’m going to fix it by using Adobe Photoshop.
You can use the transform tool to correct it. Press Ctrl + ‘ to turn on the gridlines. This will help when you’re transforming the photo. Press Ctrl + T to transform the image.
Next, you’ll need to press Ctrl + Shift and click on the point at the bottom right. Move the point inwards, until the building is in a straight line as the gridlines. Repeat the same to the point at the bottom left. Press Enter to confirm your

images for the web 2007-09-19 21:32:36 Are you considering what size your image needs to be when you put it up on the web? In this example, I’m using an image with the width of 600 pixels. I opened the image using Photoshop, and changed the image to 600 pixels in width. Then set the resolution to 72 pixels. That is the standard setting for screen display.
To save your image for websites, select File > Save for Web. I’m assuming that most people will have broadband speeds of at least 512 Kbps and we will base our image optimization on this speed. In the Save for Web dialog box, click on the Preview Menu button (small round button with a triangle pointing right) and select Size/Download Time 512 Kbps.
This is important for evaluating our download speeds later. During the Save for Web process it is essential that you compare the visual appearance of the optimized image against the original. To achieve this, simply select the 2-Up tab (top left corner) and you will see a before and after version of the ima
something that must have in my camera bag - filters 2007-09-17 22:34:24 Every time i pack my camera bag, besides UV filter which already mounted on my lenses, I will make sure CPL and ND 8 filters are packed.
UV filter is a must in order to protect your glasses from scratches but try to avoid those filter do not have HMC because cheap filter might cause ghosting image in some focal length and some lighting situation. Many people think Hoya HMC filter is expensive. In fact, Hoya HMC price is not much different with Hoya standard filter.
Another filter is CPL, it allow you to capture the blue sky, enhance the saturation and cut through the reflection which you can’t achieve through post processing.
This Picture captured with Hoya CPL to enhance the blue sky.

smart object in photoshop 2007-09-17 03:55:22
In photoshop, anyone who’s scaled an image down, changed their mind and then tried to stretch the image to its original size will know of the pixellated mess that occurs.
This can now be avoided with the Smart Objects feature. It allows you to scale the image like a vector object. You can reduce and enlarge a photo without loosing the image quality. This feature is only available in photoshop CS2 and above. By using the Smart Object feature, the original image is embedded in the layer so any resizing that occurs calls on the original hi-res version.
1. To add a smart object, all you need to do is go to File > Place.
2. Choose your picture and click place. Your image will open with a bounding box around it. Use this to scale the image. Hold down Shift key and drag the corner point. After that press Enter to confirm your selection.
3. This is your Smart Object layer. Your Smart Object should have a little page icon in the bottom right corner of the layer’s thumbnai
what are the stupid things that you might do in photography? 2007-09-13 19:50:24
Suddenly this question hit into my head. If we know what are the common problems, we really can avoid them
1. Leaving the ISO set to 1600 when you are shooting in bright daylight
2. Arriving at your location and found out you didn’t bring memory card or film
3. Not using tripod for slow shutter speeds and then discovering all your photos are blurred
4. Putting a filter in your jacket pocket, taking the jacket off and then sitting on it
5. Picking up your camera bag when it’s not zipped up and the contents drop out
6. Forget to charge your batteries and only found out after you have leaved home
7. Failing in the river, lake, sea when you are carrying your camera bag which all your gears are in
8. Turning up to photograph an event the day AFTER the event (is it possible? hehe)

defining styles with CSS 2007-09-13 01:48:47
The purpose of CSS is to allow the designer to define formatting details such as fonts, element sizes, and colors, and apply those formatting to HTML pages. Show below are some of the different methods to apply CSS.
lnline Styles
The simplest method of adding CSS styles to your web pages is to use inline styles. Its applied via style attribute. Inline style do not require selectors. All you need is only a style declaration. It clearly identifies the element to which the style is to be applied. See example below.
The disadvantage of this method is they can’t be reused. In another way, its means if you want to apply the style above to another p element, you will have to type it again in that element’s style attribute. This will also make the page difficult to maintain. Its because once you would like to change a particular thing ex. the color element, you will have to go through all the styles and change one by one.
Embedded Styles
This style uses style element to apply to you
cross-processing effect using cmyk mode 2007-10-03 02:10:21
I’ve recently helped PP in a wedding photography project. Shown below is one of the photo from the event and I’m going to apply a cross-processing effect
on it. Applying the effect in this particular photo helps in bringing out the vibrant colors.
Actually, cross-processing means developing color print or slide film in the wrong chemicals. This causes wild color and contrast shifts and requires lots of trial and error. Image contrast is usually high with blown-out highlights, while the shadows tend toward dense shades of blue. Reds tend to be magenta, lips almost purple, and highlights normally have a yellow-green color cast.
Here’s how I create the cross-processing effect. First, convert your image to cmyk mode by clicking Image > Mode > CMYK color.
Next, bring up the Curves dialogue box by clicking Ctrl + M, or Image > Adjustments > Curves. Click on the slider and make sure the black is on the left and graduates to white on the right. I’m go
sRGB vs Adobe RGB 2007-10-01 02:55:27
PP asked me this question the other day. Which color space should he use to process his photographs? Lets start by understanding what color space is. Color Space is the way Photoshop defines Red, Green and Blue. It’s the RGB model that defines what the values of a specific color are represented. For example, at white, R is 255, G is 255 and B is 255.
Usually people who are new to color management would use sRGB. Adobe
RGB contains much more control when you’re using advanced color management techniques like printing with profiles and soft proofing.
Unless you’re experienced in these techniques, sRGB is the one you should use. One more thing that you have to take note is that with Adobe RGB, you won’t be able to make use of your color profile in other softwares that are non Adobe product.

New Nikon D3 & D300 High ISO Photo Samples by Dave Einsel 2007-10-12 04:55:25 Dave Einsel - Professional photographer has published on his web page several D300 and D3 sample high ISO shots that are reaching up to ISO 25600. The photos have been cropped only without any other enhancement. These high ISO shots are quite impressive and even ISO 25600 shots are usable for small print.
In term of D300, the ISO 3200 and ISO 6400 shots are a bit noisy but still much better compared to Nikon
D200. I really can’t wait to see the comparison of high ISO of images from Nikon D300 & D3 with other maker like Canon 40D & 1D Mark III and Sony Alpha A700 shot at the same conditions.

step by step to create tilt & shift lens effect in photoshop 2007-10-09 21:44:55 One of the fancier lenses in the world of SLR and digital SLR (DSLR) photography is the tilt-shift lens. Architectural photographers use tilt-shift lenses to eliminate the perspective distortions that sometimes give buildings the appearance of falling over. Aerial photographers use them to make large cities look like toy models. Art and portrait photographers use them to control exactly where the focus falls.
Tilt and Shift lens can create

remove underline in links with css style 2007-10-09 02:09:36
By default, whenever you add a link in your webpage, its underlined and displays in a different colour from the rest of the text. However, there might be times when you want to remove the underline. Here’s how to do it.
I uses the text-decoration property to remove the underlines from link text. By default, the browser will set it to underline. To remove the underline, all you need to do is to set the text-decoration property to “none”.
Is removing underline a bad idea?
Underlining links
is a standard convention followed by all web browsers and, consequently, users expect to see links underlined. Removing the underline from links that appear within text can make it very difficult for people to realize that these words are in fact links, and not just highlighted text. There are other ways in which you can style links so they look attractive, and removing the underline is rarely, if ever, necessary.
Links that are used as part of a menu, or appear in some other

get organised with backpack 2007-10-16 02:40:08
Wondering where to get a web service that consists of calendar, to-do lists, notes, files and image storage? Backpack is the one. What I like about this site is their feature of calendar and reminders that can be sent via email or to your cell phone at predefined times. You also can tag pages so that its easier to find or group those related pages together.
With backpack, you can keep track of things to do and places to see on your next vacation, plan a home improvement project, organize a wedding, keep track of houses you’re considering buying, gather information for a research project, and plenty more. See examples of how you can use Backpack.
Another thing that I like about Backpack is that you can share your pages with your friends or colleagues. All you need to do is to click the “Sharing” link on any Backpack page, enter someone’s email address. An email will be sent to them and then they can view the page too. This is the simplest way of collaborat
