Installing a printer is rather easy for people without postscript printers. The program apsfilter sets up your printcap so anything that goes through is converted from postscript to whatever format your 'windows' printer uses. First you must install apsfilter, I'm assuming you know how to do this. I installed from a package so things might be a little different if you use ports. I'm also assuming you already have the printer device in your kernel and that /dev/lpt0 works. Linux has a large amount of device drivers for hardware not supported on FreeBSD

Not rarely, such drivers have been written based on information derived by protocol sniffing, reverse engineering and the like. This makes the code highly undocumented, and renders the porting effort extremely error prone. To help with this task, I decided to start working on an emulation layer that would let us recompile the linux source code on FreeBSD, and provide a sufficiently complete emulation of the kernel APIs so that device drivers (or at least certain classes) could be used without modifications to their source code

This is something that I found to be extremely useful. Most of the blogs offer you an email subscription so you can get the feeds right to your inbox ( like the one I have on the sidebar, go ahead, subscribe, ;-) but not every blog has this feature and not every blogger realizes that they can add this feature.Rmail, an email feed subscription service takes care of that. If you find a blog that you want to subscribe using your email address and cant see an option on the blog itself, go ahead and give this service a try. The service is free, all you have to do is enter the feed address and the email address that you want to use to subscribe the feeds.
