A deliberately very underexposed photo of a machine used to cut the top off a blown glass form to make a bowl.
The blown form is clamped in upside-down and lowered spinning into this ring of fire, which melts the glass in a circle, basically cutting the bottom off the (upside-down) form, leaving just the bowl part hanging in the machine. It’s an interesting process to watch! More info at Glasi Hergiswil

This is actually the mountain Þorbjörn near Grindavík, seen from the Blue lagoon. It was foggy and dark when I took this and I guess the light in the sky are the city lights from Grindavík diffused by the light fog covering everything at the time of capture.
The image is a single 20s exposure at f4.0 and ISO100. Then some adjustments in Adobe camera raw and curves, levels, dodge and burn in Photoshop CS3.

An Osprey comes in a for a landing on a tree killed by Hurricane Wilma (Flamingo - Everglades National Park). I was trying to photograph a Northern Harrier when this Osprey appeared out of nowhere and gave me a great opportunity.

This photo is made via composing three different exposure photos from one RAW file: -1.5, +0.5 and +2.9
All colors, light rays, shadows and anything else are natural.

The thing that hit me the most when we visited Norway for the first time was the silence!
Close to the City in the middle of an industrial area (that’s were we live) there are always noices. Day and night!

If you look closely you can see a sliver of silver in the water to the right of this Bald Eagle’s talons. That sliver is the fish the eagle grabbed an instant later. Taken today (Dec. 14, 2007) at Conowingo Dam in Maryland.
