Professional but Not Warm
2007-11-20 08:40:50
While I can’t compare the service level of Singtel to M1 and Starhub, I can, however, do a comparison between Starhub and M1. Not that I need to call Starhub all the time but I get a satisfactory call from them most of the time. I can’t recall when I had any bad aftertaste. I usually end up with a bad after taste with M1. Can see from my previous woes. I have to follow up with an email via their site after the calls. Gosh. I wonder why I have stayed for 10 years with M1 and not get anything except that Sun Perks points that were never enough to redeem. Neither do I get any vouchers from them all these years. While both are professional, it is to the point whereby the customers are no longer humans but just another statistics to their profit. Customer service level may be good but at what price if you can’t even give vouchers out of goodwill? © WishBoNe for My Life With IT, 2007. | Permalink | No comment This work is licensed under a Creat

I Just Want to Earn My Hosting Fees
2007-11-19 20:39:09
What does it take to get your blog or site being well known? Be affiliated with ProBlogger or John Chow? Inject all sorts of keywords so that the search engine will be indexed with them? Take part in contests to get more link backs? Or beg Google to up your PageRank by using Adsense solely to earn your fees? I have been using Adsense for quite some time and it’s sorely losing out to my paid posts. It doesn’t work for me as I had hoped for. Perhaps my keywords aren’t used enough to generate those attractive sites to let my readers click through. Or maybe this blog doesn’t have what it takes to attract more readers. What I wish is that we should be allowed to do what we can to earn some moolah online instead of being restricted and scared that our PageRank will be reduce to NIL/NA/0. Why am I going through all these troubles for? I just want to earn enough to cover my hosting and domain fees. If one method is not working for me, I should have the ability to use an

A Hoax That Let Girl To Die
2007-11-19 00:57:36
Online has its perils. You get spyware, spam, viruses, Trojan Horses and phishing. What is worst is that there are stalkers or simply weirdos out there to cause harm. Let’s say you get to know someone online and felt great just exchanging messages with this online friend/buddy. One fine day, you get this message, “I don’t want to be your friend any more. You are cruel to them.” What would you do? This girl hung herself. She was suffering from depression and that message drove her to her death. The character, Josh, didn’t exist in real life and the profile was created to monitor the conversation between the fictitious boy and Megan. It was created because a mother wanted to know if Megan was telling the truth about her child online. This sad case caused a young teen, her life and her family to be broken up. And there seems to be no way to charge the person who created the fake profile. And the stories about Megan being cruel was just a hoax. &

Change of Job Scope
2007-11-19 00:11:39
I kept having problems with a loop. It was certainly frustrating to get it to work the way I wanted it to. With the source data not being modified in any way, I had to somehow find the row that was to be read and imported. Took me a few days to get it done because I was simply sick of it and got exasperated easily. I just had to add another loop to locate the data just above the identified source before the import. That was all it took and without all extra If-Else loops that failed to get anything. I need a change of scope. © WishBoNe for My Life With IT, 2007. | Permalink | No comment This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 License.

What I’ll Be Doing This Christmas
2007-11-29 00:33:37
This Christmas , I’m going to stay at home and switch off every electric appliance to save on the electricity cost except for the washing machine and refrigerator. Feasible? No TV and no Internet? I can live without a TV but the net? NO! What I can do on the other hand, is that I can stop using the laptop for one day and interact with my family more. Besides, it’s the holidays and what better time to break away from my net-hogging days for one day. It’ll be No Net for Christmas Day. Online Casinos Comparison
2007-11-28 08:26:01
Sometimes I wonder if online casinos can be trusted. It’s always a good idea to do research on such sites as it has been known that some poker players have been cheated of their rightful cards during the last round. Top USA Online Casino provides a comparison chart where you can see their recommendation. The site loads quite fast as the number of images of the online casino sites are small in size. While I don’t understand what the payout percentage and bonus is for, it’s rather straight forward for those who know what the comparison chart is about. The chart only shows the top 10 online casinos and doesn’t look comprehensive to me. As the name of the site states “Top USA Online Casinos” and just 10 of them without other casino sites can’t make me believe these truly deserver their rankings. The top banner looks amateurish and isn’t attractive. A logo that incorporates the main focus of the site would be better. The Site Map, however need

2007-11-28 03:48:48
I know I’m very late in this but apparently, the MDA rap video has been broadcasted, youtubed, and blogged. Australia China USA This rap came after the ban on Mass Effect. Aye, the video created a mass effect, alright. There’s a spoof for it too. The HDTV man is famous now. BTW, if anyone wants to dance and rap, please, please, please take up some dancing lessons. First noticed via Blankanvas. Here’s a list of blog reactions. The video even made it to Techcrunch. © WishBoNe for My Life With IT, 2007. | Permalink | No comment This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 License.

Great List Posts To Read
2007-11-28 03:26:36
I would have forgotten about the Litemind List Writing Project if I hadn’t noticed the incoming link and the email. 67 participants. That’s a lot. So, below are my links to the highlights, according to me anyway. Need to increase your RSS subscribers? Check it out, Fred gives a list of 35 guaranteed ways to increase them. Among the list, it states that besides throwing out information, include your own opinions. JHS wrote a list of why Wordpress is superior to Blogger. Enough said. I didn’t know blogging can be compared to the female. Yes, constant makeover, plugin boredom and frankly speaking, I can’t remember the date of the blog birth except the date the domain was bought. And yes, I want to tell the whole world about my blog. What every blogger needs to be productive, work on one thing at a time and see where it goes. Work on one income strategy, make money and move to the next. No wonder my income is all chaotic! Finally, it’s choosing my favourite ar

Table Data Wrong
2007-11-28 01:18:46
Have been trying to populate a table but the last cell at the bottom right often end up with all the information in the array backwards. I’m not sure what is wrong here. Using 2 arrays to store the information and creating a table looked easy. Unfortunately, the information being populated looked awkward. Code used: Set rtFld = New NotesRichTextItem (nDoc, “sRptResults”) tblRow = divCnt tblCol = 3 Set rtNav = rtFld.CreateNavigator Call rtFld.AppendTable (tblRow, tblCol) Call rtNav.FindFirstElement(RTELEM_TYPE_TABLECELL) For i = 1 To tblCol For k = 1 To tblRow Call rtFld.BeginInsert(rtNav) Call rtFld.AppendText (k) Call rtFld.EndInsert Call rtNav.FindNextElement(RTELEM_TYPE_TABLECELL) Call rtFld.BeginInsert(rtNav) Call rtFld.AppendText (divNameList(k)) Call rtFld.EndInsert Call rtNav.FindNextElement(RTELEM_TYPE_TABLECELL) Call rtFld.BeginInsert(rtNav) Call rtFld.AppendText (divCntList(k)) Call rtFld.EndInsert Call rtNav.FindNextElement(RTELEM_TYPE_TABLECELL) Next Next C

Please Use BCC for Forwarding Emails
2007-11-27 09:09:22
I often cringe when I see an email whereby all the email addresses are in the To and CC list. This is because when the email is traveling through the hops and servers, they leave a digital mark that can be culled by robots which are collecting email addresses and that’s when I start receiving spam emails. This is especially more important if a company provides newsletters via emails, it’s supposed to use BCC instead. This reduces the robot’s chances of retrieving the valid emails and I don’t get spammed and neither will I need to write an email to inform them that it’s violating the privacies of the subscribers. I have friends who forward emails using the To list. I use this only if it were to gather discussion and feedback on the dates availability. How I wished that all of them have Yahoo accounts so that we can just dump everything into the Yahoo Groups. However, not all of them have and some don’t want to create new accounts. So, I’m stuck

Blogitive: No Reply & No Payout
2007-11-25 20:16:36
I am owed a huge payout by Blogitive. My reviews have been approved and it is supposed to be paid weekly as claimed but I haven’t received any pay via Paypal yet. I don’t know how long the reviews have been approved because Blogitive doesn’t do a date stamp, apparently. I don’t know what the Completed column is for. Anyone who can point this out to me, please comment. Thanks. I have emailed Blogitive but they seemed to be very busy with lord knows what. The 2 days to reply any email claim seems to be an empty statement. My first paid review for them came without a hitch. Apparently, when the payout is bigger, they take their own sweet time to pay. If you can’t support this site and pay as weekly as claimed, please, do us a big favour, just state that the pay will be monthly so that your accountants won’t be so busy. I still have 5 more reviews pending approval and frankly speaking, I have the feeling that I am being taken for a fool for spending my t

Nothing at IT Show
2008-03-08 00:38:18
For the 1st time, I wasn’t even keen on going to the IT Show to check out the gadgets. I guess it isn’t as interested as Cebit that often showcases upcoming gadgets for the year. The usual limited space for walking and inconsiderate people attempting to chat up the babes including cashiers do turn me [...]

Number Portability has Not Been Processed?

Since the year 2000 that IDA announced that we would be enjoying number portability in the 4th quarter of 2007, I haven’t seen any announcement that it has been successfully implemented. For more than 7 years, the project has been going on with some progress. However, the fixed deadline is so [...]

New Replacement for Dopod 838Pro

It seems that Dopod 838Pro is telling me something. It’s near its end. The battery has been giving me some problems such as dying off even after a full charge and faint screen at odd times. For a second hand, it’s a miracle that it has survived for nearly 2 years. I’m eying that Sony Ericsson [...]
