Someone Slit My Faithful
2007-10-18 01:15:16
As a regular computer user, I use a mouse rest since I’m a mouse lover. No, not those real mice. I have one black Scottie at home and an orange gel at work. It’s going to suffer Hemorrhage soon if I don’t get a new one soon. Unfortunately, I’m not into using animals like frog, pig or dog bones for this matter. My faithful gel rest has been with me for more than 4 years since I started using it at work. I just noticed that it had a cut, not that deep though. I wonder if I should find those gel type wrist rest, plain boring ones or I should get those fun but practical types. I Joined Facebook
2007-10-13 22:36:01
I have joined Facebook after all. I didn’t really want to until my friend asked via MSN if I have one. In the end, I joined. Currently, I’m having the new toilet bowl syndrome. Playing around with it since it’s new. Just like the other time I played around Multiply, Yahoo Answers, Evite, Flixster, Friendster, etc. Miss Loi is very happy to add me too. If Mr Endoh wants to make true to his words, do feel free to. I’m not sure if I’ll be bugging my friends to do the same though. I’m so thrilled! There are 5 special editions of Monopoly to be given away by Discount Codes. This is a site where you can get discounts from the various affiliates that they have with by using the promo codes given. Besides getting discounts from the various online stores like Amazon.com, Dixon, you can also rate the discounts. I would say that this could be a start in my pursuit for affordable online purchases. This contest ends on 31 Dec 2007. Maybe I Should Stop Twittering
2007-10-19 11:53:11
Sometimes, Twitter throws unexpected tweets that seemed connected but they aren’t. Such as Twitter Tips that give you tips after your friends’ tweets. Today, I saw something ironic. yunnie: exhausted from crying… *sigh* even though i tried not to expect anything, i still end up feeling disappointed. iheartquotes: Laugh, and the world ignores you. Crying doesn’t help either. MissLoi: Two … more … days … ! Our Servers Coughed
2007-10-19 04:59:07
To think that Facebook could come up with the idea that servers could cough. Loading the Never-ending Movie Quiz from Flixster apparently made them cough. Somehow, there’s error messages like that whenever connection to peer was reset. The most common application that would throw me such a message would be My Music. In addition, I’m adding too many applications. I must block them. © WishBoNe for My Life With IT, 2007. | Permalink | No comment This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 License. Want more on these topics ? Attack of The Splogs
2007-10-19 00:57:35
I’m disturbed. I’ve been reading Blogigs for quite some time and this question on asking if splogs will harm our blogs. I’ve been the target of such especially my posts about Bali got me thinking. I think I’ve approved a few as a trackback. I must say, I went to those sites and was attacked by Adsense and Kontera and other money making schemes. Basically, the sites provide link to the original source and some excerpts. In addition, they contain various topics and are not focused in any topic. I’m starting to wonder if I should mark them as spam. Maybe I should. Here’s why sploggers splog, one theory is that Google is not the target. However, isn’t Google the most used search engine? As someone who had 2 whole posts plagiarised, I started using Creative Commons a.k.a. CC. However, it seems that CC was a double-edged sword in 2005. Sploggers made use of its vulnerability at that time to plug more clicks. Another way to check if your posts have be

Human-01 SEO Contest

Here’s a game, well, to me, it is a game. I put SEO Contest 97e3613 and pray that I’ll land 1st in Google search. The rules can be found here. Ends on Nov 17, 2007. I heart the PR4 lifetime rank. SEO tricks allowed. Hey! Unfair! Update: Somehow, it seems to be a company but it looks as if it’s just been built. I wonder if it’s for real since the applications don’t look very useful at this moment. Why I Want to Attend Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas
2007-10-25 21:45:20
I’m trying to build an affiliate network. The basic idea is to cast my net as wide as possible. However, doing this part time isn’t easy and attending the Affiliate Summit should help me in getting connecting better than what I’m doing now. This summit will be held on Feb 24 - 26, 2008 in Las Vegas , Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Sounds cool to me. In order to attend it, I would have to cough out US$949 (I believe that’s the currency since it’s going to be in America). I can however, get it free from Zac who is holding a contest to give away one full conference pass to one lucky person. He is giving away not 1 but 3 such passes for free. W00T! Deadline to join in for a chance to win the pass is on Oct 31 for the 1st, Nov 30 for the 2nd and finally, Dec 7 for the 3rd pass. Reason #2184 to Switch from M1
2007-10-25 06:52:22
Had a very disappointing call with M1, again. I think I should switch telco by end of this year. I would like to change my current handphone to another model because this Dopod 838Pro is starting to give me problems. Since my contract has ended, I want to make use of this chance to upgrade. So, I called M1 to check if I would be getting any voucher. Ah, here, the standard model answer was given. “The voucher is given out based on the plan and the amount of the plan.” Oh, so I have to be an Ultimate mobile phone warrior who pays M1 at least $300 per month so that I can get a voucher to upgrade my handset after the end of the 2-year contract. I know Starhub gives me the voucher at the end of 2 years. I just received it. Even when my plan was paying them a miserly $30 per month. As a Hub Club member, I can even upgrade my handset at the 21st month without paying the extra $100. Moral of the story, switch telco by this year when the handphone number can be kept without having t

2007-10-22 20:41:51
Receiving unwanted advertisements on your mobile? I had and still having. ^$&*# I have even received calls from companies representing credit card banks like Citibank, UOB, HSBC and OCBC. I wonder how the heck they managed to cull my personal information. I wonder why they are allowed to do that. And I wonder why the heck do contest sponsors allow the very private information to be sold or given to third parties. Reading today’s Digital Life on the culling of private information set me thinking. The question asked was “What if you receive an SMS recommending coffee at the very place you are at just as you are contemplating what to drink?” Have our systems become so good and integrated that our information are no longer within our control on how it is being flowed? Why is that we can’t sue them for abusing the privilege to get the information? Do banks even protect our account privacies in the first place? If banks can freeze the accounts because of a warrant

Review: Tatarah - Lowest Unique Bid Wins
2007-10-29 22:46:51
I first saw the advertisement for Tatarah was on the MRT. The ads were vibrant as the logo is colourful. This site is different from eBay in such a way that the lowest unique bidder wins the item. Initially, I was excited with the idea as I don’t have to bid too high and still be able to afford it. The bidding style is not new, I’ve heard of the lowest bidder wins auction during my degree course. It originated from The Netherlands or Holland. Another site that has this concept is Red Toucan whereby there is no bidding fee. Tatarah has a name that is hard to pronounce and remember the correct spelling. Such a style of bidding method means closed bidding. No one knows how much the bid is as this means there won’t be any lowest unique bid. Tatarah has a quota for each item to be bid. This means bidding early despite the closing date being 5 days away. It has a minimum amount of processing fee of SG$1 excluding GST which I fail to understand why there is a GST when the fe

WP Plugin Voting Time
2007-10-29 22:13:07
It’s voting time! I was looking forward to looking at the Wordpress Plugin Group Writing Project posts started by MarcoRichter.net and was rather surprised that only 5 including mine to be in the final compilation. So, does that mean that most of the available plugins are able to do the jobs and hence, the limited number of entries? Before I vote for my favourite post, I’ll like to list the finalists. gratemedia.com wants an eMail plugin. techzilo.com wants help with SEO. myweightlossforlife.com wants better relation between posts. thewritersmanifesto.com wants a social plugin. itlife.escrito.info wants help with insulters. Looks like I can’t vote for mine While the SEO plugin was rather useful, I believe one of the features like showing excerpts is already available as a plugin itself. To avoid the suspense, I’ll like to vote for my favourite post, it’s the plugin for Social submission by TheWritersManifestoBlog. I do agree with the doing away with &ld

I Need Help Down South
2007-11-02 01:27:08
Apparently, men need help. I didn’t know that they need sperm pills or some sort of tools to help them perform better. Some emails I’ve received even have ways to ensure that the stuff they promote, work. Oh boy. Thanks. I didn’t know that I needed help with such things. The last I checked, I didn’t have a sudden growth of anything odd down south. Perhaps you spammers kindly check that you are truly sending your emails to the correct people who truly need such products? You don’t want anyone to hit you with the meat, do you? You would want emails that are relevant, wouldn’t you? Get a life! Oh wait, you are a spam-bot. Review: Toshiba HDTV
2007-11-06 21:57:13
Large TV screens are coveted when the football fever arrives like the Barclay’s. There are so many large screens TV from LCD to HDTV . Flat screen TVs are often picked as they are, well, flat and doesn’t take up too much space in the living room. During the hunt for that perfect flat screen, we would usually visit the store to view the quality and the display sets available. It feels easier to ask questions physically rather than via online. Now, for those looking for toshiba HDTV, Krillion.com will help you with its comprehensive product, pricing and location information to find the exact TV you want at your nearest retailers. Using its unique, patent-pending Krillion Localization Engine, the local search results will provide the most accurate local shopping results available on the Web for you. Tis also the season of spending time with the family, why not give the HDTV a try? [This is a sponsored post.] © WishBoNe for My Life With IT, 2007. | Permalin

Hunt for PDA Phone Replacement
2007-11-05 23:27:37
I’m on the hunt for a replacement for my Dopod 838Pro. It’s dying. Right now, my list consists of E-Ten Glofiish M800, i-mate Ultimate 9502 (but it doesn’t seems to be available in the future here), Samsung Ultra Smart F700 (no WLAN for this though), HTC P6500 (no QWERTY keyboard) and HTC S730 (no touch screen, smartphone). I like the design of HTC S730 but the screen is smaller compared to E-Ten Glofiish. While I like the sleek design of Ultra Smart F700, it lacks the capabilities of Wifi. Now I wonder if I will use Wifi since I prefer to read my RSS via a larger screen like a desktop or laptop. Life can be so difficult to choose. I can’t have everything inside one phone. Why can’t they come out with a DIY version? © WishBoNe for My Life With IT, 2007. | Permalink | No comment This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 License.

DirSP stole $70
2007-11-04 21:58:00
In order to get more traffic, some would pay for a service that will help the blogger or site owner submit the site to a few directories. DirSP.com claimed to help any site owner to submit to 1,000 directories while collecting $70 for rendering the service. Apparently, it seems to be a scam. It’s supposed to be completed within 5 to 8 days after they have collected your money and contact you about the status. Contest Blogger has tried to contact them and they have been silent for 2 weeks. Driverless Car Wins Race in California
2007-11-04 20:28:31
Driver-less cars may be seen on the roads as early as 2015. A robot car named Boss won the race in California earning itself a cool $2m. The benefits of such cars mean that we’ll be able to make telephone calls, put on the make up, check that email, mind the kids or sleep while the car navigates through the road. Another benefit means that there will definitely be less rogue drivers and no drunks caught because they are snoring in the car while it drives them home. In addition, there won’t be any more need for driver’s license except the license on operating the car. Cool, huh? Will they be developing cars that are environmental friendly too? Petrol is ridiculously high. I’m looking forward to such a car because it means less trouble with parking © WishBoNe for My Life With IT, 2007. | Permalink | No comment This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 License.

5 Reasons Why I Bought a Domain
2007-11-12 01:02:20
[This is an entry to Litemind’s “Lists Group Writing Project“.] I know why I wanted to start my own domain. I’ve thought for a good name and searched for the domain registration. While it’s not what I wanted initially, I do like it because it means something. I want to upload plugins. I’m having too many plugins in this blog and my other blogs. A bad habit, ya. I want to upload unlimited photos. Unfortunately, I’ve been too lazy to upload any decent images to fit into my posts. I want to upload and edit the themes. So far, I’ve edited one to separate my comments from track backs. Lazy bum. I have too many interests. You can see I have at least 4 blogs here. I still have Multiply, Diaryland (that’s died as far as the updates go) and Friendster (another dead update). I want to show off my domain for my blogs. Yeah, proud of it. Not happy is it? Violated Again. It’s a Neverending Cycle
2007-11-10 00:51:13
I’m starting to be more popular. With splogs, that is. I’ve my posts plagiarised yet again. What’s new? My posts on hotel reviews, sponsored posts and whatever seems to have been well-thought on my part have been stolen and violated. If my sponsored post has been violated, will I still get paid? I just did it and it’s immediately stolen although there is a link back. However, what’s the point? What if I get banned? What should I do? What can I do? Sue? Email the webmaster? Email doesn’t work. You get ignored. Even if you are an A-list blogger. What can Copyscape and Creative Commons do in this case? Do my copyrights even get protected? ADV: Credit Cards Comparion Made Easy
2007-11-16 00:18:32
Choosing a credit card can be confusing as banks provide a variety of cards that list down their benefits and privileges. Individual bank sites do not provide a comparison chart that will lighten your load in choosing one that fit your needs. Credit Card Balance Transfer is another issue to be dealt with. Here, CreditCardSearchEngine will help you in listing the different credit cards available by categories. That reduce the amount of time you have to look at the various websites and listing the most important factors such as credit cards that offer the lowest interest, balance transfer credit cards, airline miles credit cards and many more. Besides providing a comparison list, you can also read articles on managing your credit cards. Banks include HSBC, Bank of America, Citibank and others. Slow To Catch Up With Trend
2007-11-22 03:41:02
The dust seems to have settled down for now for Big G and PR. I’m getting frustrated here because we are supposed to have only one source of “legal” way to make some money and it’s to be only from Big G. I’m slow again. When it was just picking up, I didn’t utilise it. No wait, I couldn’t because I was using a free host that didn’t allow me to put any scripts. Now that I’m starting to catch on, Big G says “All those selling text links and paid posts shall have their page ranks reduced!” Something to that effect. I have resorted to doing adsense, surveys, paid posts, participating in contests and reviews. Aye, I have to do so many things just to earn some spare cash hosting fees? So, what else can I do? Wait? Or don’t care what it’s doing and just carry on my methods to earn some miserly amounts? I’m not saying that I want to be like some A-listers and sit at home and blog all day without worrying whethe

Step Towards a Change
2007-11-21 02:02:50
I’ve come quite a long way since I have been doing IT. 7 years is a long time with me being in the support group for 4 years and development started in the 4th year. I have been demoralised in the past (from year 5) and changing companies doing the same thing didn’t help at all. It came to the point when I didn’t want to look for any job. I just wanted to stay at home and do absolutely nothing. Just eat, sleep, surf the net and meeting friends or travel. With quite a number of years doing what I’m currently doing, I have started to get bore. Somewhere along the way, I lost my interest in Lotus Notes development. I got depressed at the thought of going to work every morning. I want to cry when I’m sitting in front of the computer and the task that I have been assigned. I wanted to go home immediately. I felt that I didn’t want to have anything to do with development or support. Finally, today, I nearly cried while sitting at my cubicle. I had been fee
