Melayu Boleh Review. 2007-08-30 10:03:26 I’ve long wanted to do up a review for Sha, whom I’ve nickname just today, Uncle Potek. Yeahhh….something like Harry Potek! Urgh okay lame. Sha’s been very inspirational; his life story and he’s also a damn blardy genius lar. He is very entrepreneurial, always on the move, always multi-tasking. I really wonder how he does it man! I mean like, don’t tutorials, assignments and projects tie you down?!
And did I meantion he’s not your average geek. He’s got a tight body, is damn atheletic and can run sibei fast. Go take a look at his timings lah. It’s fast lor, for an uncle Man, I bet I’ll lose all my chicks visitors to him now.
I’ve written something for him below:
Uncle "Potek" Sha, you betcha!
He's da man, you'd better watcha!
When he runs, he flies ah!
And when he flexes, you steam-ah!
Wahahahha, I hope he finds this amusing. Once again, MELAYU BOLEH!

On another note, school today was mentally exhausting. I hate Thursdays, because I have to attend 4 hour lectures straight from 10-2pm! My stomach growls so loudly, so much so it’s disturbing fellow mates nearby.
Ma’am Justine Burley’s lectures (EG2401) are very tiring. Well first of all,she doesn’t give a break for a 2 hour lecture. Worse still, we cannot, not even for a moment, afford to idle or sleep or talk or dig nose because she randomly calls out students to answer questions! Everyone HAS to have an opinion, and HAS to devote full attention on whatever she’s spouting.
Oh and she’s Canadian. I still remember the first lecture when she introduced herself, she specifically highlighted that she’s CANADIAN, and not AMERICAN. She say’s it’s a huge difference. But yeah, it’s a fact that ALL Canadians HATE to be associated with the Americans. They absolutely HATE it if you go “Are you A Read more:Skies

ASM - Toxic. Harzardous. Please stay away. 2007-08-29 07:13:57 Assembly language programming is such a new concept for me. Yes, I did learn C/C++ back in year 1 and 2…but this is sooooo different.
In C/C++, everything’s defined in the libraries eg. commands and functions. Imagine “printf”, “scanf”, or “cin”, “cout”, or what nots. In asm programming, users have to CODE these commands/functions! Wah lao eh! It’s a love hate relationship you know…You love the simplicity of using a “printf” command, however when you get down to a deeper level, it’s so complicated and mind-boggling! Argh.
We hardly know about the language itself, and now we’re already tested in CODING a blardy program. It’s something to do with computing the factorial of a user based input. Cmon la, using C/C++ to compute this is chicken feet, I bet any year 1 student can achieve this. I know their principles are similar, however they’re rather different in nature.

IBackup - An Online Storage System 2007-08-29 06:49:44 IBackup
is a company offering an online solution for your ultimate storage and backup needs. From what I’ve seen at their website, they are geared towards targetting business savvy consumers , company profiles and government bodies.
The architecture they use is similar to a shared drive on an intranet infrastructure. What does this mean? Well, basically under your ‘My Computers’, you have an additional mapped network drive that you will be able to spot. This mapped network drive is linked to IBackup’s servers, therefore data is transferred on-the-fly. Users can simply drag-and-drop their files into this network drive, and the files will automatically be stored over at IBackup’s.
Added functionalities such as multi-sharing of files and folders for collaborative access, directory and file caching (for faster access) and 128-bit SSL encryptiong technology are just a few of the useful tools available. In my opinion, the best provided tool by IBackup is their Read more:System

Tourism Slogans in Asia 2007-08-28 08:25:30 GEK1001 - Place, Environment and Society is a Geography related module. I find it so interesting and more engaging that Sociological classes. Only Soci girls are interesting, but the lessons and “strangle me” readings are one of the biggest bitches I ever encountered.
Why not take GEK1001? It’s great, lecturers are so hip and trendy, classes are never boring! The “sight” in lecture halls and tutorial classes are superb. But anyways, let me get to the point.
I am sure Singaporeans have heard of the catch phrase “Uniquely Singapore”. It has been so from the year 2004 until the present time. What the hell is unique about Singapore sia, so small and got nothing to do. Well, if you want to say that she’s unique for the excellent law and order, safe and security, then okay lor. I don’t think I can rebuke that. But heck, these tourism slogans aren’t about such things right?
Why would you come and visit Singapore? Because of it’ Read more:Tourism

Honda Stream - Lick my body 2007-08-26 07:53:13 I finally get the car after numerous trials and tribulations. This car is very heng. Got strike 4d first prize! I took exterior pictures of the car, and the control panel.
To view the pictures, it’s here: HondaStream
I am amazed by the technological advancement of new cars (as compared to the old Matrix). You can adjust the angle of your headlamps, retractable side mirrors (Yeah this ain’t new, but still!) etc. But the most special thing about this car is it’s integrated fuel consumption calculator. It appears int he small digital screen above your speedometer, so whenever you top up your tank, all you need to do is reset the meter and procees as per normal. No more finding out your tank capacity and needing to work out “total dist. travelled per full tank / full tank capacity”. You’re free of that!
The touch-screen panel integrated dvd player is a free addon I got, as well as the sports rims (I chose them! Rimmiliiciousssss). I find the dvd-panel
Photo Gallery Update 2007-08-24 11:41:57 I hated my old photo gallery. It was using the NextGen plugin. I hated it because the pictures took FOREVER to load up and display on the screen.
I timed with a stopwatch, and the fastest loaded image was 32seconds, and the longest being 1min 36seconds! I said to myself, “This shit has to stop now.”
So I went around googling for a suitable replacement, but none of them appealed to me. I want a simple, professional yet efficient design. I was almost about to give up hope, until I decided to google the word “photo album php”.
There aren’t much photos now, but I’ll add in more soon!

Great Online File Sharing Tool 2007-08-24 04:49:48 There’s an online file sharing tool that’s making a very good impression around the online community recently.
It’s similar to yousendit.com, but bigger and better! With Driveway.com, your file upload limit is 500MB instead of a measely 100MB. No registration needed!
I use yousendit.com, but I feel somehow handicapped by the 100MB limit. I mean like, if one of my photos is already like 3-5MB, that means I can only upload about 20 photos. Most of the times, my album consists of about 50 or more photos. With Driveway.com, I can finally do it all at once.
How it works
Choose file(s) to upload -> Click -> You are provided with download link(s) location -> Targetted user simply clicks and downloads file(s)
The reason I require this kind of service is because my family has close friends overseas. We do exchanges of photos often, and companies like Driveway.com provides the medium for me to do this effectively. No more file uplaod quotas! Plus for this one, I don&r Read more:Great

A random post 2007-08-23 03:20:56 Had school from 12-2pm of straight lectures. So mentally exhausting and my eyes hurt already. I came home, logged on and am proud to see my Alexa rankings improve by another 400k over a day! But yeah it’s still pathetic though. And I seem to have 7 subscribers via feed? Whoa seriously? Wow, I thought it’d be more pathetic than that. I was expecting zero.

Is Pink Gay? 2007-08-22 08:51:17 I wore pink flower decorated converse shoes to school today, and my girl-friends were saying:
“Eeeee…what the hell…Why are you wearing pink!”
Me: Why not? I lurrveee pink!
Them: EEeeee, but it’s pink leh. So GAY.
Me: WTF? Wearing pink is gay? Cmon pink is such a cool colour lor. Look at this design, so nice and unique. Flowery somemore, I like. And my baju kurung’s gonna be pink also lor!
Them: OMG Khairul is SO gay!
Me: Gays don’t wear pink lah. idiot. But hor, I like pink leh. I’d have bought a pink PSP if I had money. Hahhaha.
I don’t care! I even got this (from a friend of course):
How to know if she’s REALLY a girl. 2007-08-21 11:39:23
Boot up your command prompt or DOS mode.
Get the girl to CREATE a folder using DOS commands.
Girl stares at blank screen for a good amount of time.
Switch off the screen. Pull her away.
Conclusion:You lucky lad. You got a girl! Give her a hug!

Server downtimes piss me off. 2007-08-21 11:30:50 Okay, bandwidth has been cranky, but maybe that’s because of the lift upgrading programme happenning in the blocks in my vicinity (including mine). So okay, Starhub…you are safe. I won’t bitch about you.
But my hosting server is having problems man. Past two days, it’s not only been slow and laggy, but there are frequent downtimes as well. But the peculiar thing is, my buddy Firdooze is using the same hosting provider as me, but his domain and server is fine! I think his server is in a different stack.
I thought I’d wait it out, and it turned our alright…but it happened again! Argh. Blardy hell, everything cannot use. I submitted a new ticket to their support side to seek assistance (I really love their tech support, very efficient!), and they clarified as the server having problems and they fixed it. Phew, it’s looking fine now, BUT I have another problem!

A friend, which you don’t quite like, has his fly open. Would you tell him? 2007-09-22 22:35:32 According to my previous poll:
Question: A friend
, which you don't quite like, has his fly open. Would you tell him?
Yes BUT I'd embarass the HELL outta him! (53%)
I'd signal to him discreetly so he can save his dignity. (37%)
To hell with him. If i had a scissors, I'd…. (11%)
Wow, I guess most of us want to get back at someone when we have the opportunity to do so. And it seems only 37% of those polled are nice people. lol. I hope they didn't lie!
But I'm more worried about the 11% who opted for the sadistic alternative. Alamak, dangerous leh. Imagine 11% of the SG population were this type of people…safety compromised! RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNnnnn
GE1101/GEK1001 Geography Fieldtrip 2007-09-22 09:25:17 We were all supposed to be at the UOB building by 845am. That's so blardy early. I had to wake up at 630am, bathe get ready, then take the bus and exceedingly packed MRT (even on a Saturday morning! Unbelievable. Too much work and no sex is taking a toll on working Singaporeans!).
Well I got there 15 minutes early, and went around surveying toilets…the ones at Raffles Xchange, OUB Centre…Whoa the latter one best man…clean and unsmelly. Super conducive for morning bombings!
There were about 100 students, so we were split into two groups. I went with the first group.
There was this father-son duo on bicycle, riding around boat quay. It was such a sweet/cute sight man. The things a father and son does I still remember the last time I went cycling with my dad in Sentosa. Hills and slopes, we pushed our bicycles up those steep bitches, all hot and drenched in sweat. So dark the con of fasting. 2007-09-21 02:18:43 Oh what a lazy Friday afternoon!!! YAWNS I feel so lethargic. I ponned one particular lecture today (I'm not telling which one), and decided to celebrate 'Engine Day' at home with Jenny! Wheeeeheeee
Oh and everyone's raving about BlogRush now. Basically you do a free registration, then install their widget on your site. Their policy is: the greater the number of refreshes of your widget plugin, then the higher the chances of your blogname appearing within that widget. Basically, anyone in the world who has installed that widget (Yes, everyone's using the same widget customed to their site) will be able to see your blogname. This in turn, possibly equates to MORE traffic! So please everyone, go register using the link above!
That aside, I feel so lazy…I was talking to my sister about fasting, and it came to this:

Hello and welcome back. It's time for “Advertlets.com - Blog Advertising in Asia! again! Well, firstly I'm glad that Advertlets is back in the race again, with more advertisers and so many uber cool ads for us all.
But what slaps me in the forehead is seeing the picture above. These bloggers have really earned their cash through Advertlets.com, they have the evidence to prove it, and not only that, look at how crazy they are going about spreading the Advertlets love. I am so jealous, I wanna rob all of them and take all their cash! Argh!
But hey, YOU can sign up for this too! Don't just sit there and ask yourself how these people did it. Go sign up, explore the interface and over time, with effort, you can be just like them. I'm nowhere near them man, they're so high up. My earnings are pathetic though, but it's still some free money yo! Say, if someone gives you $50, will you accept it or not? Confirm will take what.

s in Singapore isn’t a very big scene, in my opinion. Well, maybe that’s because majority of us are all living under HDB roofs. Or maybe renovations and all are too expensive for anyone to be able to do it multiple times in their life.
Sigh, I still remember seeing those houses in the UK, some were nicely cosy and some were majestically beautiful. The big ones usually had conservatories attached to a part of their house. It’s like an extra room where you can turn it into a garden or simply another room for your preferred personal use, maybe a bedroom if you feel you need to sleep under the sparkling stars for a night or two? Hehehe, shiok right? So romantic man. Urgh, what am I saying?!
Some of them also had driveways! But I didn’t see any cars la, hahahah they must’ve been at work I guess?

k800i Woes 2007-09-17 01:48:16 The stock phone itself caused zero problems, UNTIL I updated the phone software off SE’s website. @#%&!@%#*!@^$#)!$&)#@
First time I did the upgrade, the LCD backlight wasn’t working. I did vary my themes, settings, did resets and all but it still failed. So i decided to reinstall the existing upgrade. Well, it worked fine UNTIL yesterday.
I thought of a special someone, and decided to sms that person. Whipped out my phone, and into the messaging interface. Damn, the T9 is on! Okay, I’ll disable it then. So I held the shortcut button ( the ‘*’) to disable the T9, and BAMMMM!
“EH where are my words? How come I can’t see my text? Why is ‘hello’ only spelled as ‘ e o’ ? ” The situation was helpless, I did everything. A re-installation of the software didn’t help either.
Basket, now I’m phoneless. I sent the k800i to the service centre today, waited for about 25mins, settled it, and went back. T
Have you EVER thought about this? 2007-09-14 22:52:36 Ah I woke up late today…Saturdays feel so goood (Erm not all Saturdays though). I have project meeting later on in town, so I’m looking forward to that.
So now, the gist of the post.
Why do we use “We give you a WARM welcome to Singapore! Welcome!”
Singapore’s so warm, no one needs a WARM welcome! In fact, what we need is a frosty cold welcome. But if we’re in England, it’s a different case altogether right? I mean it’s okay if the Brits say “We welcome your warmly into England ;)”, because the weather there IS cold.
So what does this mean? Well, our language i.e. the British English Language to be exact, embeds coloniailsm. We don’t realise it when we use it, because it’s been so much that way for many freakin years. We just take for granted as it is, and we use words that originated from colonial times.
The India Indians on the other hand are head over heels crazy over cricket. They claim it’s a national Read more:thought
Ex Msian PM VS Roti Prata 2007-09-14 04:17:11 I heard it last week on the radio (Yes I know I’m a tad overdue!) that Dr. Mahathir Mohammed, 82, underwent heart-bypass surgery (His 2nd one. He had a heart attack back in May.).
Hmmm okay…But what amazed me the most was that he had roti-prata after his surgery. -_-
The fast way to blogging for cash 2007-09-13 10:52:39 I did my introductory sponsored post a months or two ago, and I’m proud to say that I’ve finally received the USD$20 into my account!
Sure I could take pictures to post here as proof, but I’m very lazy at the moment. It’s 23:39 now and I’m due for bed soon, so yeah.
It’s not fake nor a scam. You CAN make money somehow through blogging. I really recommend you PayPerPost, where blog ads rule. There are LOTS of opportunities out there for you to blog about, which equates endless cash flow into your account. But of course, it comes with patience and effort. There’s no easy way to anything. But PayPerPost provides you the most direct and fast way to achieve this success.
To achieve this, your blog needs to have a solid base i.e. you need to satisfy PPP’s blog requirements. Basically, your blog needs time to mature, need to chalk up enough posts etc. But heck, if my pathetic blog can make it, why not yours?
You also need to have a good Google P

Foreign Students: Call back home… [Part 2] 2007-09-12 09:04:39 I went to school today to check the rates of those ‘ICC dispensers’ type machines. There’s one right outside LT6 NUS, and I checked the rates for Sunpage, with an outgoing call to India.
GUESS WHAT?
Their rate is SGD$0.183. Pingo provides SGD$0.180! So yeah I think Pingo definitely has more to offer. With their credit signup offers, I think it’s a fair exchange for the cheap rates. It’s good for people who call back home often, else the monthly subscription fees would definitely pull you down.
