Open Drawer Lands Wis. Man in Trouble 2007-08-28 20:05:50 SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) - Police sent to arrest a man at the request of his probation agent got the goods on him in a new drug case when they spotted a bag of marijuana in his dresser drawer, according to the criminal complaint against him.
The 27-year-old man was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia for a smoking device found in his bedroom, the complaint said.
Officers said the man greeted them at the door and asked if he could put on his pants before being taken away. The officers consented and followed him inside. They spotted the marijuana when he opened the drawer to get clothes.
A preliminary hearing was set for Wednesday.

shocked a would-be thief into submission when she ran screaming and trapped the man in her car after seeing him rummaging around the dashboard in search of plunder, police said on Sunday.
The woman had just unloaded a refrigerator from her car when she saw a man had opened the door and was kneeling on the back seat

Fake Money Doesn’t Fool Tenn. Strippers 2007-08-27 18:26:26 SMYRNA, Tenn. (AP) - A man who authorities say used his computer to make fake $100 bills to buy lap dances at a strip club has pleaded guilty to counterfeiting charges, federal prosecutors said.
Strippers
at Deja Vu in Nashville were suspicious of the bills and called police after Damon Armagost spent $600 of the fake money April 16, authorities said.
When officers arrived, Armagost first told them he got the money when he sold gold coins for $1,400 to an unidentified person.
U.S. Secret Service agents later determined that counterfeit bills with the same serial number had been passed in other parts of the country. When they went to Armagost’s Smyrna home, about 20 miles southeast of Nashville, a family member told agents that an image of a $100 bill had been on a computer there.
Armagost then acknowledged that he had downloaded the image from the Internet and printed 14 of the bills, prosecutors said. He pleaded guilty Friday to manufacturing and passing counterfeit currency and Read more:Money

Malaysian Man Pulls Train With Teeth 2007-09-01 12:12:58
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) - A Malaysian
man nicknamed “King Tooth” has pulled a seven-coach train using a steel rope clenched in his mouth in an attempt to set a new world record for the heaviest weight pulled with teeth.
Grunting and gasping, Rathakrishnan Velu’s neck muscles strained and his face contorted Thursday as he hauled the nearly 328-ton train over more than 9 feet along tracks at a railway station in Kuala Lumpur.
The feat was being submitted to the Guinness World Records, said Rathakrishnan’s manager, Anna Chidambar.
Dozens of onlookers clapped and chanted “Malaysia Boleh!” or “Malaysia Can” when Rathakrishnan sat down and pulled the train, holding both tracks for support and pushing his booted feet against the wooden rafters to propel himself backward.
Rathakrishnan, who partially attributes his strength to an Indian form of meditation, pulled the train 9 feet, 2.2 inches in the first attempt.

Snakes on a plane for real 2007-08-31 13:44:01
A pilot discovered snakes on a plane for real.
A Mississippi man was flying when he realized he was sharing a flight with a grey rat snake.
Doctor Ed Garuth says, “I’ve been flying a plane for 50 years and over 14,000 hours, and this is the most unusual in-flight emergency I’ve encountered. I guess it wasn’t exactly an emergency, but I did almost hurt myself when I saw it.”
Snake expert Joey Pradillo, called to remove the reptile from the plane after Carruth had made his landing, said that it’s not uncommon for snakes to live in hangers, which explains how this one ended up on board. Read more:Snakes

That’s the accusation after an incident in the early hours of August 18th at Fish’s Quick Stop in De Soto. Store

Police say the plan was for the naked dancer to create a distraction while another man took a case of beer from the store. It didn’t work.

NYC Baby Born With 12 Fingers, 12 Toes 2007-08-30 10:31:44
NEW YORK (AP) - Jeshuah Fuller’s parents expected him to be born with extra fingers. The extra toes, though, were a surprise.
Jeshuah, weighing 7 pounds, was born in Brooklyn on Tuesday with 12 fingers and 12 toes. His rare condition, called polydactylism, is usually genetic.
His dad was born with an extra finger on his left hand. His mom, Quana Morris, said she’d had an ultrasound image taken during her pregnancy and knew the baby would have extra fingers.
“We were counting them on the sonogram,” she told the Daily News.
She didn’t know he would have 12 toes, she said. He’ll have all the extra digits surgically removed in a couple of weeks, his mom said. Read more:Fingers
Give Some Blood, Get Free Movie Tickets 2007-08-29 22:43:19
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - With blood in short supply, an American Red Cross chapter is offering free movie tickets and a chance to attend the Daytona 500 to entice people to donate.
Blood
supplies typically drop during the summer as donors go on vacation and schools and colleges that host blood drives are closed, said Wendy Bunner, blood and volunteer coordinator for the Berkeley County chapter of the Red Cross.
To ease the shortage, the chapter decided to offer incentives to attract donors, she said.

Man Accused Of Sawing House In Half 2007-09-25 23:40:28 A man who was fed up with friends who had agreed to build and sell him a house is accused of sawing the home in half lengthwise, police said.
Rodney Rogers, 66, had made an agreement with his friends, the Bowers, to buy a house the Bowers were building, WLWT-TV in Cincinnati reported.
Rogers was living in the home while the final renovations were being made, and he said he agreed to pay the Bowers with cash.
After the house was completed, however, the Bowers wouldn’t give him the title and would not give him a price for the house, police said.
Rogers, who lost patience with the Bowers, according to his family, sawed the entire house in half, through siding, drywall and windows, police said. He was arrested in connection with threats made against the homebuilders and destruction of property.
“(He’s the) nicest guy you ever met — real good guy. (He) treated me well,” Rogers’ neighbor Zyndall Russell said.
Rogers then showed police what he had done and Read more:House
