Frontiers Of Reality 2007-08-26 10:48:00 I begin with this amazing video a new section called Frontiers
of Reality. With this section I would like to talk seriously and with rigour about events that could to be in the frontier of reality.Sometimes is difficult to give a good explanation to some things. Things like why twins have some degree of mental connection. Or why can't be some kind of life in other planets, when in ours there are bacteria in the sea which feed of methane.People sometimes say they have seen fabulous creatures that are only remains of prehistoric animals. A good example of this is the coelacanth (a fish extincted in prehistorical times that was discovered alive recently). Or the dodo bird, that was supposed to be extincted in 17th century. Those strange descriptions of two headed monsters can be just genetically deformed animals. It's not strange to see two headed cats, horses or cows in the news. In other times, people may give a fantastic explanation to this.Ancient cultures had people who were wise in
The origin of Centaurs 2007-08-22 14:29:00 With this post I begin a new section, a section called Mythology and Fantasy.Mythology and fantasy is still source of inspiration for many artists, and many people are still interested in this ancient lore of legends. In all the history of humanity, people always have liked to hear good stories and tell good stories. Mythology and fantasy is a good way to learn, through heroes and creatures, about human relationships. We can define mythology as a series of stories of a civilization that try to explain the origin of the world. In a beginning stories were spread thought an oral way, and later written and told for generations. Tell this stories to people seeing their expectant eyes could be an eternal pleasure; but for those civilizations it was their truth, their beliefs.I begin this section with the centaurs, a mythological creature half human and half horse.Ixion (the Thesalia king) desired Hera, the wife of Zeus (the supreme God). Zeus knew this, so fooled Ixion modeling a cloud with th
The Mona Lisa Secrets 2007-08-20 15:53:00 Francesco Giocondo ordered Leonardo Da Vinci to paint his wife, Lisa Gherardini (the picture is called Gioconda because she was the wife of Giocondo, Giocondo/Gioconda). Francesco Giocondo was a merchant friend of Leonardo's father.Others said that was the father of Leonardo, Sir Piero Da Vinci, who ordered the portrait to Leonardo. This way, Francesco Giocondo, who was a wealthy man, could become a good patron for Leonardo. Leonardo spent much of his time doing strange gadgets and needed to finance them.Leonardo painted Lisa Guerardini when she was 24 years old. He liked so much the result of the picture, that never gave it (always found an excuse to not giving it). In all his travels he took the picture in his suitcase and never separated from it.Her strange smile... Lisa was from a rich family. It's not strange that rich people had bad eating habits, because vegetables and fruit were for poor people. So many wealthy people had nutrition problems, and it's not strange that they Read more:Secrets
Mary Kingsley, against hippopotamus and cannibals 2007-08-19 12:32:00 I begin this section "the life of" with a surprising woman: Mary Kingsley
, born in the claustrophobic Victorian society. She changed the direction of her life, and decided to make her dreams come true.Mary Kingsley (1862-1900) was born in Islington (London). Her father was a doctor, and fell in love with his maid. Four days before Mary was born, they married.Mary Kingsley's uncle was the famous novelist Charles Kingsley.Mary's mother was disabled. So Mary spent a long part of her life looking after her. Her only entertainment was reading the many books her father had in his library. She was a great self-taught woman. And without academic studies, she became one of the XIX century biggest authorities about Occidental Africa. She did what was expected from her until the death of her parents. But when she was 30 years old, she started a new life. Her destination: Africa. She travels to Africa with the excuse of finishing one of his father's book about rituals and fetishes. She lives with Read more:against
Crocodile Legend 2007-08-15 13:22:00 One upon a time in a far away place, lived a peasant who loved very much his village and his people. One day, when he was going for water to the lake, the huts began to burn. When he returned from the lake, he felt horrified for seeing his village in flames. All that he loved was burning. And he ran, ran very much to the lake, and he swear to the Heaven that he could give his live in exchange for saving his village. And hugged the water and turned running to the village, and with his body he extinguished the flames. He returned to the lake forever with his deformed appearance and his skin fill of blisters. When he eats remembers his former life and drops tears of nostalgia. He will be called Crocodile
forever.Sometimes we fear those who we most admire.-Emma Alvarez- If you liked this post, subscribe to Emma Alvarez Blog

All months there will be an article about cinema, about interesting films, top ten...And I wanna begin with this genre. Science Fiction has a lot of detractors. Sci-fi is for intelligent people and with an open mind, with imagination and creative.I always have preferred the good books of the genre because our imagination goes much far away than a film. But there are very goods films in the history of cinema. After that, a list of the best Sci-fi films.1- The Star Wars Trilogy: Star Wars/The Empire Strikes Back/Return Of The Jedi2- Alien3- Blade Runner4- Matrix5- E.T. The Eternal Serengeti 2007-08-05 13:29:00 There is a national park in Tanzania (Africa) called Serengeti. This awesome place has been listed by UNESCO as one of the World Heritage Sites.Serengeti means "endless plains" in Maasai language. And it's true, it's endless plains filled of lions, tigers, elephants, rhinoceros, giraffes, hyenas, zebras, gnus, buffaloes...In Serengeti there is a big biannual migration move. The animals go searching the water and the vegetables, following the season's change. In this travel they cross the river Mara two times. We can find in Serengeti the Maasai tribe. Kind and smiling people that wear colorful clothes. They are nomads and cattle breeders. Their life goes around their cows. From cows, they get meat, milk, blood (they drink it), leather...Near the Serengeti park, we can visit the Ngorongoro park. There we can find the Olduvai Gorge, where were found skeletons of primitive men like the Homo habilis and the Paranthropus boisei. This is only the beginning of a new section of this blog. Summer Time 2007-07-31 11:22:00 Many people begin their vacation tomorrow 1st August. Some say that vacation is a controversial time for families and couples. Too much time far away from routine, work...Sometimes we are not ourselves, only an image that others want to see. Running all the time , watching the clock, and we try to escape from ourselves .Now in summer people have time, time to be themselves and to be with people they love, and the troubles begin when things aren't as they think.People fear their own thoughts: that their life isn't perfect. Not as a in a movie or in a commercial. It's difficult living far away from stress when stress is part of your life, and helps you to not think. But life has not to be perfect to be happy. Only needs to enjoy with small things. Enjoy with a beautiful landscape, with an ice-cream, with people who you love, with a book...Actually, the small things are the most important. Remember a happy moment of your life. For others, that moment can be a nonsense, but not for you.H Read more:Summer
Women In Art 2007-07-25 16:14:00 When I saw this video I was surprised of its beauty and atmosphere. There are so many women, so different, and so expressive, in so many works of art... Full of tenderness and serenity. They tell so many things through their eyes...They tell about their times, their lives, their illusions and wishes. They are as beautiful as mysterious. They were seen through the artistic eye of a painter. They will always be there in a room or in a landscape forever watching us. We only can appreciate their generosity and admire them. For the artist who made that video : Thank You. -Emma Alvarez-If you liked this post, subscribe to Emma Alvarez Blog

Maybe One Day... Stairway To Heaven. 2007-07-23 15:06:00 Maybe one day I could buy a stairway to Heaven
.One long stairway that may lead so high that you could never see the human miseries, and the pain would have no sense. One long stairway where the loneliness would not exist. And the injustice could not be seen. And in a big sky where only love could exist. And peace may arrive to all hearts.Today I can only dream.Maybe one day that can be true. -Emma Alvarez-If you liked this post, subscribe to Emma Alvarez Blog

BlogCatalog Community Organ Donation Awareness Campaign 2007-07-16 16:20:00 BlogCatalog has started a campaign for organ donation. When I was informed about this, I felt a strong need to contribute for a cause that I believe on completely. The best of organ donation is that when you die, you don't do it completely, but you can make something of your person continues living in another one.In some way, it's like being a hero, because your life will guarantee that others continue living. The existence of sick people whose organs are damaged is very painful. For example, people that have kidney trouble have to spend hours connected to a machine that cleans their blood. Or people who suffer from heart disease, whose existence seems to slip away each minute waiting for a phone call that may change their lives. When we talk about children the things get worse. There is nothing as terrible as a child suffering. Innocent creatures that, instead of enjoying their childhood, they are trapped in a bed, without being able to do what the other children do: play, jump, run.. Read more:Awareness

More Sexy Than Rock 'N' Roll 2007-07-14 12:09:00 There was an old song in my country called "mas sexy" said something as "you may be sexy as rock 'n' roll". Was a very cheerful song. The band name was "Coz". Here you are a new version from "Punto de mira" band:"You may be sexy as rock 'n' roll".... who knows... We can be more sexy than rock 'n' roll... it's dificult but we can. No? lolRock and rockers are very sexy. I was thinking in this moment in not so much handsome rock stars that have been married or dating with really pretty women. I remember have seen one day to a Jerry Hall walking along the beach, and she was a really beautiful woman.I don't doubt that Mick Jagger must be a sexy man to marry with so amusing lady :)The Rolling Stones, despite their many detractors, are one of the greatest rock bands of all times.Well here you are cooly sexy t-shirts that were made for people as you. Warning Pure Venom 2007-06-21 14:57:00 I did this design really quickly. Ideas went flowing and I was quite satisfied with the results.I think it was Friday. On Sunday, somebody said me:- Are you going to the cinema? They're showing that movie about Spiderman, and it's Spiderman against Venom
.- Versus who?Venom, oh my Gosh... hehe :-) the unconscious sometimes makes this kind of tricks.I love superheroes, their appearance, and I also think the're beneficial as a role-model.By the way, look at this quiz. It's great and quite entertaining, I loved it. I got 90% of Wonder Woman. Not really bad, isn't it? ;-) They say comparisons are usually hateful, but this one is really cool. I don't know much about Wonder Woman. I'll try to get some info.I admire comic illustrators. In fact, my favorite one is the Peruvian Boris Vallejo, who shows beautiful and strong dark haired women instead of the so seen stereotype of fragile women.I always thought that having a myth or hero is really a benefit for oneself. You try to have a ro
Pollo Loco 2007-06-21 14:57:00 I really enjoyed myself doing "Pollo Loco" (the mad chicken).I heard the phrase "pollo loco" to a friend of Arizona. When talking about my President, he said that he was a "pollo loco". It was so fun that in few days I did this design. Fortunate those who don't feel ashamed by their politics. But it's too sad to compare this chicken with any politic, as most of them are not fun but shaming or terrific, or both. This "pollo loco, muy loco", has seen the news on TV, I think, and that's why it has become mad.-Emma Alvarez-
My Fire 2007-06-21 14:56:00 Nobody can extinguish my fire, my inner fire.Nobody can't control our ideas. Say go to hell to all those people that want to put an end to individualism. We aren't flocks of people, we are persons, and we want to be ourselves. We have the right to rebel, to be free.Go to hell all those politics, the teams we are pushed to choose, the collectives, TV programs that with their rubbish TV try to create "opinion".We ourselves already have an opinion, damn the alienating and manipulating society.Nobody can extinguish our fire neither with their one million of fireman truck. No one can beat us; we have fire inside us, we live to the limit, and live each moment as it was the last of our lives. Nobody can't put an end to this, no one can extinguish our fire.-Emma Alvarez-
Under The Moon 2007-06-21 14:54:00 I love cats. I have a cat called Lilit.I always say it's a present from God.This furry ball gives me so much happiness. Frisky, playful, curious, sleepy, even lazy...It's always by my side purring in the night.Absolutely charming, that is the image of a cat under the moon, playing with the stars, playing in freedom under the moonlight.Free without fears under the night sky.Do you guess what I like most about cats? You have to win their affection, and when you get it, you also find the complicity in their eyes, in their moves.Let us all do as the cats, let's be free and wild under the moonlight.-Emma Alvarez-PD: If you end doing like the cat and making acrobatics under the moon, trying to catch the stars, remember: that video may be a success in YouTube !!! hahahahaaha ;-)
Aurora, nature's most beautiful show 2007-08-29 14:40:00 In some far places, in the dark of the night, before the sun rises, sometimes appears the Aurora
. Aurora is a winding bright light that seems to dance in the sky.In northern latitudes it's called Aurora Borealis. The name of Aurora comes to the roman goddess of the dawn. Aurora the goddess, according the roman lore was a beautiful woman, who flies through the sky to announce the arrival of the sun. Her tears are the dew. Tears spilt for the death of her son. Boreal comes from the Greek word "wind".It's said that after seeing an Aurora, you will be happier for the rest of your life. The surprising phenomenon is produced in the following way. The sun emits energy charged particles called "solar wind". These solar winds arrive to the Earth (it takes them 2 days), and impact in the atmosphere, and when they crash with the nitrogen and oxygen atoms, they free energy in the form of light. That light is the Aurora. Depending on the chemical element impacted, a specific color will predomina Read more:nature
The Death awaits you in Cordoba 2007-09-24 12:59:00 Once upon a time, in the medieval times of Cordoba, a nobleman and his servant were in the flea market when they meet the Death. When they saw the Death, both stayed paralyzed by fear. And the Death made a strange grimace, pointed to them and said: "When the night comes, the Death awaits you in Cordoba", and vanished into the air.The servant, very nervous, said to his master: "My Lord, Death pointed to me! Master, I've been always loyal to you... the Death pointed to me! I don't wanna die! I am too young, and have a wife and children..."And the nobleman stare at him with compassion, and said: "Let's go home. Take my fastest steed, and ride, ride as far as you can before the night comes. Go far away from Cordoba, so the Death can't take you.""Thanks, my Lord", replied the servant, "I will always be loyal to you and I will never forget this kind gesture".When the night came, the Death knocked on the nobleman's door. And he went out and said to the Death: "You arrive too late. My serv
Yellowstone and its latent supervolcano 2007-09-19 11:57:00 Yellowstone National Park is located in the USA, in the Rocky Mountains, in the northeast of Wyoming and bordering with Montana and Idaho. It was the first place in the world that received the treatment of National Park. It was named this way by Theodor Roosevelt in 1872.Under the Yellowstone Park there's a geological phenomenon called supervolcano. A supervolcano is a kind of volcano that produces bigger and more devastating eruptions. A simple volcano, when erupts, becomes a great danger that can destroy with its rivers of lava and sulfuric vapours all that encounters in its way. A supervolcano is thousands times more dangerous. It can destroy everything in hundreds of miles around it, alter the global climate of the planet, and become a cataclysm for all the Earth, similar to a nuclear winter. The supervolcano located in Yellowstone is the biggest in the world. This supervolcano had 3 big known eruptions. The last one was 640,000 years ago. The time between those eruptions was from 6
The most famous kiss in the world 2007-09-16 16:13:00 Auguste Rodin is the author of The Kiss, probably the most famous kiss in the world. In an origin, this artwork was a small sculpture, part of a bronze portal made by Rodin called "The Gates of Hell". So we can tell that the most famous kiss was given at the gates of Hell. The statue is based in the character of Francesca da Rimini, who appears in the book "Dante's Inferno". Francesca was in love with the brother of her husband, Paolo. When they were reading a book about Lancelot and Ginebra, Francesca's husband discovered the lovers and killed them. So, in the statue, Paolo has a book in his hand. When they saw it, the French Government liked so much The Kiss that asked Rodin for a big size version in marble. The statue was so popular and people liked it so much, that Auguste Rodin was asked to make as much small statues of bronze as he could make. Private collectors even asked for big size versions of the Kiss for themselves."The Thinker" was another statue that was in "The Gates of
Fairies, their origin and essence 2007-09-16 06:44:00 Fairies are fantastic and ethereal creatures. They are depicted like beautiful women, glowing, with wings (but not in all cultures fairies have wings), and sometimes carrying a wand that emits sparks. And always in the deep forests.Their origin is mainly based on Celtic legends. But the belief in the existence of fantastic creatures from the woods maybe is as ancient like the world. In the Middle Ages, it wasn't estrange to see fairies depicted in coat of arms, and some aristocrats said that they came from a fairy lineage. It was said that fairies took advantage of their beauty to have relationships with knights, and this way create a intermediate race between humans and fairies. In the Middle Ages, when someone saw a pale and weak child, it was said that was a fairy child.According to the ancient lore, fairies approached the baby's cribs to give them blessings or curses, depending on the good or bad nature of the fairy. The bad fairies ended being called witches. There are several theo Read more:Fairies
