Metroid Prime 3: Corruption reviews (It's the shit!)
2007-08-27 21:44:00
There was no doubt in my mind that this game would receive great reviews and rock worlds. But it's still good to read glowing reviews on how awesome Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is. I actually cried reading a review yesterday evening. It touched my heart in such a way that the fanboy in me had to shed a tear. I feel like typing "F**k Halo!" But I won't. Oops! I already did.The only criticism towards Corruption that is mentioned in every review I've read so far, is that the game has you going on a long winded scavanger hunt right before the final moments of the game. Those who have played through Metroid Prime 1 and 2 will know the deal, as the same thing happened in these games. It's a shameless attempt at making the game longer. But when the rest of the game is so damn hot, you forgive it and just put up with it.If you live in the Americas or Canada, you need to go out and buy this game. Be thankful that you can buy it today, because I bloody well can't. The European release is 2

Bank holiday Monday's
2007-08-27 13:53:00
Bank holiday Monday 's are odd days. For some reason they always make me feel tired and lazy. All I do on Bank holiday's is eat, watch Japanese dramas and listen to music. Bank holidays feel just like Sunday's, so it throws me off for the next couple of days. Tomorrow will feel like a Monday, because today feels so much like a Sunday. It's weird when you say "It feels like a Sunday" because what exactly does a Sunday feel like? What does a Monday feel like? What does any day feel like!? It's not the kind of thing you can explain is it. You just expect everybody else to know what you mean. It's days like today I wish I had a good game to tuck into. North American gamers now have Metroid Prime 3 to get stuck into. I could do with that game about now. Too bad I won't be able to get my hands on it for another 2 months. *frowns* Tags: Blog, Holidays, Personal, Random

Is Kingdom Hearts coming to Wii?
2007-08-26 09:31:00
I posted the possibility of this happening around this time last year. And once again with the Tokyo Games Show around the corner, rumours have once again surfaced that Kingdom Hearts is Wii bound. I've said it once and I'll say it again. Square Enix would be stupid to deny the Wii a Kingdom Hearts game. There's no doubt in my mind that a Kingdom Hearts game would be a mammoth success on Wii. The Wii has a demographic that would soak up Kingdom Hearts like piss in a sponge. It's guaranteed money and we all know how Square Enix be like 50 Cent when it comes to gettin' that money.I may end up eating my own words and looking a silly bugger, but I strongly believe the Wii will get a Kingdom Hearts game; even if it's just a global release of Kingdom Hearts II - Final mix+. A spin off is probably more likely than a re-release or a Kingdom Hearts III though. I don't think Square Enix are prepared for the backlash of Kingdom Hearts loving Sony fanboys if Kingdom Hearts III ends up being

Metroid Prime 3 TV spot
2007-08-25 21:24:00
I was hoping for something a bit darker, like the awesome official trailer Nintendo premiered on their Metroid Prime 3 preview channel. Ideally I actually would've liked the advert to look like this. But the final result is a cool one, it works and I think it's alright - even though it could've been much better. Nintendo should've put this advert out yonks ago though. The game releases in North America in a day and they only put this shit out to air now!? I love Nintendo, but they don't hustle like Bungie and Microsoft when it comes to promotion. For the Halo 3 TV spot you can bet that Microsoft have Steven Speilberg directing it, John Williams composing the soundtrack for it, that it's going to be the most expensive advert ever made, win 6 Emmy awards, 2 Golden Globes, a Grammy and that it will air on TV, premiere on YouTube and the Xbox Live marketplace by next week. Wii outsells the Xbox 360!!
2007-08-25 05:53:00
Well I'll be damned if the Wii hasn't just gone and outsold the Xbox 360 globally!WiiAustralia - 138,192Europe - 2,870,000Japan - 3,424,139Canada - 313,956North America - 3,615,000Total: 10,361,287Xbox 360Australia - 195,056Europe - 3,250,000Japan - 402,381Canada - 403,500North America - 5,950,000Total: 10,200,937I knew the Wii was selling well, but DAMN!! Pushing 10 million units in less than a year!? The figures aren't 100%, to the unit accurate - more a rough idea of unit sales. Give or take a few thousand or a even couple of million units here or there, the fact still remains that the Wii is pushing 10 million in global sales and is already hot on the tail of the 360.Japan is without a doubt what is and will always continue to give Nintendo the upper hand over Microsoft and is undoubtedly a huge factor as to how and why the Wii has caught up to the 360 so quickly. Japan doesn't care about the Xbox. They have no love for it what-so-ever. The 403, 500 units they managed to shift

Petey Piranha and his trophy bitches
2007-08-24 07:58:00
Like Mario Kart, Tennis, Football and Golf - I thought Smash bros. was an event where the princesses never got kidnapped. Guess I was wrong. Because in Super Smash bros. Brawl's Subspace emissary you'll have to rescue Zelda and Peach. *rolls eyes* These bitches are useless. Getting kidnapped every day of the week. They must give good nookie for Mario and Link to continuously go out of their way to save them. It's not Bowser or Ganondorf on kidnapping duties however - it's Petey Piranha. He's a pretty cool and quirky looking character and one of the few good things to come out of the borefest that was Super Mario Sunshine. I'm glad Super Smash bros. Brawl has introduced a new boss character, with the possibility of there being more. Even if Petey Pirahna ended up being the only boss in the game, it still beats a giant hand.Watch him in action: Petey gets his kidnap on Tags: Gaming, Nintendo, Subspace, Super Smash Bros. Nasty special edition Halo 3 Xbox 360
2007-08-24 05:55:00
I present to you the Halo 3 special edition Xbox 360. It's fugly as f**k. I hate it. And I'm not just saying that because I think Halo is one of the most overrated video game series of all time or because Microsoft are money hungry bastards who extort cash from consumers for products that aren't quality tested and break down and corrupt after 4 months. The system looks horrible. You could open a dirty nappy, throw it at a standard Xbox 360 and get the same result. Anybody who think this looks nicer than the premium silvery grey or the elite black needs a slap in the face. The fact it costs about 30 quid more than the premium setup just makes it worse. Along with it coming bundled with about everything except a copy of Halo 3 itself. If you own the standard issue 360 and you want your console to look like this Halo 3 one - I'll mod it for you for free. All I need is a box of Crunchy nut cornflakes, toilet paper, an hour and a plastic glove. You won't get the orange strip on the disc

Showtime dayo!!!!
2007-09-23 14:04:00
The Smash Bros. Dojo was updated on Friday with a blowout on good old Solid Snake. For Super Smash Bros. Brawl we have the ripe MGS2 Snake and not the old decrepit, Adolf Hitler looking MGS4 Snake. He looks awesome and his special attacks are hella cool. They include the Nikita missle launcher, a rocket launcher, lobbing grenades and planting mines. He's also able to roll, sneak across the floor and even has his special rape attack where he takes his victims from behind. It's crazy how Snake doesn't look all that out of place. I love that Hideo is a fan of Smash Bros. and was 100% supportive of allowing Snake to appear in the game. He needs to extend that Nintendo love and support by giving the Wii a Metal Gear Solid game. *shakes fist*The Snake update on smashbros.com not gave us a glimpse of Snake and special attacks, but also his theme for the game which is lifted from MGS4. It sounds awesome! I can't wait to hear the whole thing. It's just a shame it wasn't orchestrated.Screen

I disconnect.
2007-09-23 13:18:00
I know hardcore online gamers HATE players who disconnect when they're losing and see them as the scum of the gaming earth, but I don't give a shit. I thought I'd give Mario Strikers charged football a quick go earlier today and disconnected on somebody. I hate when people are cheap in games and this bastard was as cheap as they come. He kept doing the same shit and I was unable to stop it no matter how hard I tried. So right before the match was about to finish, I switched off the Wii. Yeah, you heard me. I disconnected from the bitch!Mario Strikers isn't a broken game. But there are alot of tactics and special shots that players exploit unfairly. You also can't play ranked matches according to skill level and personal stats, so you get pitted against bastards who clearly play the game every waking moment of their life and have found ways to exploit small flaws within it. So I decided to play unfair and switch off the Wii mid game.I don't give a damn if you lose points and your

TGS '07: A.S.H (Archaic Sealed Heat) = hot like fire!
2007-09-22 17:59:00
If you own a DS and you've been looking for a good old RPG to tuck into, then you need to check out this game. From the first time I laid eyes on it back in 2006 I knew I wanted it. And after feasting my eyes on this brand spanking new trailer, I want it more than ever. You gotta love the Japanese guy talking over this trailer. He sounds so energetic and lively, like he really wants you to buy this game - almost as though his life depends on the sales of it. Never underestimate Nintendo's handhelds. NEVER! Did you see that FMV and those graphics!? That shit looks like it's running on a PlayStation 2!! I'm SO buying this game when it releases in the UK.A.S.H is developed by Mistwalker - the company founded and created by the creator of Final Fantasy and former executive vice president of Square, Hironobu Sakaguchi. The music is composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto, the man responsible for the Final Fantasy XII soundtrack. So this means A.S.H will probably play and sound like Square

TGS '07: Umbrella chronicles looking hotter than ever
2007-09-22 06:07:00
The more I see of this game, the more I like it. With every video that Capcom release, the game just seems to look better and better - but Wesker's voice seems to sound worse and worse. He sounds like a 30 year old Ian McKellen sucking on a grape. I am really dissapointed Resident evil 2's scenarios will not be included. I can't understand why Capcom would do such a thing and I think that's a big mistake. Resident evil 2 is the most plot driven game out of the bunch and it's also the game where Leon S. Kennedy was introduced and Ada was seen for the first time. So you'd think given Resident evil 4's mammoth success that Capcom would relish at a chance to show how Leon and Ada wound up in the thick of things in 128 bit, but nope. I'm living in the vain hope that Capcom will punk us all and actually include a Resident evil 2 scenario. But deep down I know they won't.Here are the all important release dates...North America and Canada: November 13, 2007Japan: November 15, 2007E

Midnight eye candy: Suitei Shojo - Sekigae
2007-09-21 18:59:00
After a bit of hiatus Midnight eye candy returns! Tonight's comes courtesy Suitei Shojo. A J-Pop duo consiting of two girls named Rino and Lissa. They're a bit like t.A.T.u, only...not really. And a heck of alot easier on the eye. I'm not a fan of Suitei Shojo's music in the slightest. But who cares about the music, when they're prancing around in short skirts, knee high leather boots, with their shirts open revealing their silk bras for the music video?!Suitei Shojo - Sekigae© 2003 Epic records, Sony BMG music entertainment JapanThe song is rubbish, the video is as cheap as a packet of crisps and the dance routine looks like it was choreographed by a one legged pole dancer. Suitei Shojo's record label must've been on a seriously tight budget, which would explain the lack of clothes. The girls have been absent from the music scene for 4 years. I think it's time for Suitei Shojo comeback reunion.Tags: Japan, J-Pop, Lissa, Music, Music video, PV, Rino, Sekigae, Suitei Shojo

TGS '07: Soul Calibur IV looking meh'tastic
2007-09-21 09:56:00
This game looks boring. There, I said it. Whilst the graphics look stunning and easily ranks as one of the best looking 3D beat 'em ups to date - the whole game just has this air of boringness about it and it lacks impact. Everything looks the same as Soul Calibur 1 to 3. The SAME stages, the SAME snazzy light shows when a character gets hit, the SAME animations, the SAME grunts and screams. Soul Calibur has declined greatly since the Dreamcast original. The third Soul Calibur game was much better than second, but it still couldn't touch the first. It'll be interesting to see where the fourth installments falls. As the new video shows, we have a new female character. Her name is Hildegard Von Krone and she looks shit. No impact. No originality whatsoever. If you use Soul Calibur 3's character creator you can make a character that looks and plays JUST like her. The same armour, the same weapon and everything. Interestingly Hilde shows no cleaveage in her default outfit. But you can b

TGS '07: Metal Gear Solid 4 looking...HAWT!!
2007-09-20 22:43:00
This is probably my fave MGS4 trailer of the lot, purely because alot of the characters are shown. I can't wait to see what the deal is with Raiden, Eva and the ugly little bitch that is Olga's daughter. It's also great to have Meryl back.It was nice of Hideo to once again include a couple of black characters. One of whom is in Meryl's squad unit and will probably get headshot at some point in the game. And the second who wears lots of jewellery, is a dodgy dealer who sells guns, seems to like a bit of magic 'n voodoo and has a pet monkey. Hideo seems to be running with this guy. I wouldn't be surprised if he named him Dark Baboon and the pet monkey Mr. Ni**a. He looks like a really cool character though. It seems his purpose will be similar to that of the Merchants in Resident evil 4. Hideo has a habit of making the black characters in Metal Gear Solid games quite mysterious and for the lack of a better word: odd-balls. Vulcan Raven in MGS1 had a Raven fetish. Fortune in MGS

Tokyo game show bitch!!
2007-09-20 18:31:00
So the Tokyo Game Show is in full swing, which means hot new trailers are popping up all over the place. You know damn well I'm going to be posting some of 'em here. But rather than randomly throw videos up without warning. I thought I'd let you know that I will be throwing up videos. I just ate an egg, water and mayo sandwich, a handful of sweets and downed a can of soft drink. So I'm feeling pretty perky and needless to say I won't be going to bed until 4 in the morning and that's if I'm lucky! So I'll be posting up these videos through out the early morn. You could check out IGN, 1up or Gamespot - but they won't be honest, rant on and flat out diss games like I will. I just saw Soul Calibur legends in action and I'm already itching to tell you what I think about that one. So stay tuned. This goes out to all of the 3 people that check out this blog. *grin*

The guy gets a thumbs up for getting the look right and a big shiny gold star for having the balls to sport it in public. But his right titty makes me shiver. The world's oldest man
2007-09-19 13:41:00
This fly looking man on the left is Tomoji Tanabe. He's the world's oldest man having celebrated his 112th birthday yesterday and he doesn't look a day over 70! He puts his long life down to daily breakfasts of rice, seaweed and miso soup and avoiding alcohol. He was given a cake with one hundred and twelves candles, but they wouldn't let Tomoji blow them all out in case he collapsed a lung or broke a rib.During his birthday celebration and press conference he had said that he wants to live forever and that he doesn't want to die. That's sweet and they're very nice words, but that's not going to happen unless he has Soul Edge stashed away under his futon and he's willing to sell his soul. I bet everybody in the room looked at each other nervously as he said that, because they knew damn well the dude would probably die within a year or two. It's the Guinness book of world records curse. The fact that the dude is over 100 years old aside - as soon the Guinness book of world rec

Shenmue - The bad endings
2007-09-19 11:23:00
Did any of you know that Shenmue 1 had a bad ending? I had no idea until I stumbled across a video of it last night. Bad ending is an understatement and a half. Check it out. You'd think after seeing how Lan Di death palmed his father, that Ryo would think twice about running into the dojo to face him. But nope. Ryo is straight up stupid. Which was pretty much confirmed when he refused to have sex with Nozomi, even when she offered it to him on a plate. The bad ending occurs if you take some ridiculously long amount of time to complete the game. You'd have to fall into a coma whilst playing it, wake up a year later and continue where you left off to see it. It's that long. This is why near enough every gamer that completed Shenmue failed to see the band ending. Shenmue 2 also has a bad ending which once again occurs if a player takes too long to complete the game. How neat is that!Check it out: Shenmue 2's bad endingTags: Dreamcast, Gaming, Sega, Shenmue

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is online!!!
2007-09-18 22:55:00
I feel like I'm going to pissy pissy down my own leg, because Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been confirmed as being online playable!! *swings Wii remote in the air without the wrist strap on* I always knew Nintendo would include online play. They would've made the worst mistake ever since the Virtual boy had they left it out. The next evolution for Smash bros. after Melee was always be for it to go online. Now our prayers have been answered! This game could possibly make up for the third world style drought of games on the Wii right now.As is the case with all Nintendo's titles, Super Smash Bros. Brawl utilizes the bastard Friend codes. But this is a small price to pay for what will easily be one of the most fun and enjoyable games to go online in a long time. Unlike Mario Strikers Charged the online mode isn't reigon locked, so you can actually play against opponents from around the world.I can't wait to smash attacks bitches online. But me being a UK gamer, I'll probably have to

It all started with a 6 socket extension lead...
2007-09-18 13:04:00
I think I had one of those days where I started something I wish I hadn't. What I thought would be a relatively simple thing had chain reacted and spiraled into some big old long day task. You know that portable hard drive I had bought some time ago? Well today was the first time I actually set it up and used it. The socket extension in my room only had four sockets and I needed five. I'm not going to be using my external hard drive every day, but it'd be convenient to just have it plugged in all the time and not have to keep switching plugs when necessary. I looked around online for a five plus socket extension and Woolworths sold a six socket one with a surge protector for 10 quid. So I thought "Great! Sorted". 3 months later I still hadn't gone to Woolworths. I just couldn't be bothered. But I was out all this morning running errands and shopping and I passed a Woolworths. So I toddled inside and got myself the socket extension.Hours later I get home and think "Well. I guess I'

Sony had an egg and they named it "Rolly"
2007-09-17 08:40:00
Not satisfied enough with wasting huge amounts of money on the shit that is PlayStation 3, Sony squander more money on Rolly . Rolly is an egg shaped mp3 player which has little robotic wings which flap in time to the music it's playing. The whole idea of this thing is crap, but its promotional video is pretty cool. Check it out.Having a $350 price tag, only 1 Gig of a memory and no screen, I can see this being as much as a commercial success as AIBO. It looks pretty cool, but I wouldn't ever think of buying it. It's one of those things that catches your attention for 10 minutes, but then after that you just think "What is the point of it?" You'd have to be an idiot or have way too much money to opt for some mp3 player that has next to no features whatsoever and looks like something out of Mork and Mindy instead of an iPod touch. Interestingly, both the Rolly and iPod touch go on sale on September 29 and September 28 respectively. Apple are blatantly going to wipe the floor with thi

Make a damn sequel: Shenmue 3
2007-09-16 17:08:00
Shenmue 2 ended on some bullshit cliffhanger. After 3 discs of gang members, knives, motorcycles, jumping out of windows and talking to little kids who all address you as "Hey Mister!", the fourth disc had you chasing some stupid bitch who tries to rescue a goat floating down a stream. Then after an hour of talking to the bitch and walking back to her dump of a house, the whole game ends in some ridiculous Final Fantasy moment with some magic sword that floats into the air. I rolled my eyes at how the game went all mystic on me and ended so suddenly. But I'll be damned if I wasn't sat on the edge of my seat wanting Shenmue 3 there and then!7 years on there's still no Shenmue 3. Given how Sega seem to have a habit of prematurely ending successful series', I can't say I'm surprised. There has consistently been a lot of talk on which console Shenmue 3 should and would appear on if it were to see the light of day. Given that the Xbox got (a shitty port of) Shenmue 2, you'd think thi

Got milk?
2007-09-16 14:30:00
I would do so many naughty things to Hayden Panettiere. She looks so fine. She needs to come to my house. The person who called Hayden to do the Got milk? campaign must've been a male. No respectable woman would've asked a fine 18 year old girl to pose with a moustache of white fluid unless she was a kinky lesbian. As for Masi Oka, I bet he's been getting some serious action since he landed the Heroes gig. All he has to do is walk into a crowded area, throw his hands up and scream "Yatta!!!" and pussy is rushing in from all directions and parachuting down.Tags: Got milk?, Hayden Panettiere, Heroes, Masi Oka, Milk

I didn't buy it.
2007-09-16 11:18:00
I went to buy Super Paper Mario yesterday, but for some reason I just couldn't do it. Usually when I want to buy a game I just buy it. There's no indecisiveness or uncertainty. But yesterday I was hesitant. I must've stood in the shop with the box in my hand for a good 5 minutes just wondering "Hmmm....should I? Shouldn't I?"I was 100% certain that I was going to buy the game the whole time I was making my way to the shop. Then I get there and see the game and all of a sudden I get cold feet and am thinking to myself if I really do want to buy the game. I guess I don't want Super Paper Mario as much as I thought I did. I think I'll read more reviews of the game and see what happens. If I head to work tomorrow and have this impulsive urge to buy it, then I'll act on it and pick it up on the way home.Tags: Gaming, Nintendo, Personal, Random, Super Paper Mario, Video games, Wii

A dream I had
2007-09-15 03:13:00
It's rare I remember my dreams, so I've decided to blog this one whilst I remember it vividly. The dream of September 15, 2007I was driving in to Uni. I'm not sure whether I had a late class or my classmates and I had planned a get together, but I'm heading to Uni. The buildings and scenery on my journey to Uni look different, but kinda similar. Everything has this Gotham city look about it. Taller, wider, more lights, vivid. I finally reach Uni (again, similar but kinda different campus layout) and I park my car. I'm unsure if I am able to park in this particular space or not. I look at my mobile phone and the time is 6:45pm. I'm wondering if parking attendants finish at 6:00pm or 7:00pm. I'm a bit indecisive, but I take a chance and head into the building to meet my classmates. The interior looks like a museum. It's all white with 2 long benches in the middle where a couple of my classmates are sat. They all greet me and say "Hi" and then one of 'em says they've split up wit

Cool music video: Ciara - Like a boy
2007-09-14 18:59:00
It sucks when you have a really good song, with a really hot video and it fails to do well commercially. This is one of those. It's Ciara 's "Like a boy". Jokes about her having a penis aside, this is a decent song and I really like the video. It's pretty original and different from the typical over glossed videos alot of female artists tend to go for these days.Ciara - Like a boyDirected by Diane Martel© 2006 LaFace records, Zomba music group, Sony BMG music entertainmentCiara can dance her arse off! Get that paper!
2007-09-14 17:20:00
I completely forgot that Super Paper Mario was released across Europe today. That's probably because Nintendo have done f**k all to promote it and also because they left it 5 months to actually release it over here. I'd love to know why Nintendo felt there should be a 5 month gap between the North American release and the European one. It's no secret that Nintendo like to piss and shit on UK gamers. If there wasn't such a drought of titles and I wasn't such a Nintendo fanboy I'd leave Super Paper Mario on the shelf. But we know damn well I'm going to be picking it up either tomorrow or Sunday.Tags: Gaming, Mario, Nintendo, Super Paper Mario, Video games, Wii

So I just watched X-Men 3...
2007-09-14 16:02:00
I watched X-Men: The last stand today. I thought the film was boring. But a couple of things were done right. Rebecca Romijin-Stamos laying on the floor naked would've been one of those things if it weren't for her foot. It looked like a crows. Her toes are damn nasty. What made this film bearabl. Famke Jansen played her really well. There's not much to play really. You just put on a long red wig, stand in front of a fan, let your hair blow around and then let the CGI team do the rest. But she did look great as the Phoenix. The scene when she tears up her own house looked amazing. The special effects were awesome. I had to rewatch it several times. They really did capture how dangerous and powerful the Phoenix is in that scene. The Phoenix is one of my fave characters from X-Men, so I'm glad she was done right. She doesn't do much in the film though. She kinda just stands still whilst everything around her goes haywire. I would've liked to have seen her do more than just disinteg
