Eureka Seven manga review- vol. 3-4 2007-09-19 17:29:36 For my review
of volumes 1-2, click here.
As is common for shonen manga, EurekaSeven
gets better as it goes. What’s not so common, though, is that it already started off great. More revelations, action and drama in these volumes keep things dazzling and amazing until the final battle begins in volume 5.
D.Gray-man review - ep. 9-12 2007-09-19 17:01:07 For my review
of episodes 5-8, click here.
Despite its inferiority to the original manga, D.Gray-man is getting better as it continues. Almost everything about it improves in these episodes, and the change saves this series from being just plain overrated mediocre. Fans of the manga, however, will still be somewhat disappointed.
Sketchbook ~full color’s~ PV - first impressions 2007-09-18 09:23:43 Sketchbook’s homepage has a preview video up, though it’s quite hard to find (it’s a white rectangular icon with black text near the top of the page) It wouldn’t play at the correct speed on my computer (>_<) but I still managed to enjoy it and realize some things:
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai review - ep 6-10 2007-09-30 16:33:02 For my review
of episodes 1-5, click here.
With these episodes containing the ‘Massacre’ arc, Higurashi steps out of its ’slice-n-dice horror’ genre and into the ‘dark drama’ genre. As weird and slightly scary as it sounds, it works quite well for these episodes. The drama, shifts in atmosphere and new information presented will be a [...]
EotW: Who’s gonna license what anime 2007-09-30 16:12:40 With the anime industry in a bit of turmoil right now, it seems to me like US companies might hold off on licensing new series in order to possibly grab Geneon’s titles. But even the months leading up to September 27’s Geneon downsizing have been slightly lacking in major licenses. The only one that comes [...] Read more:gonna
Broken MP3 player and K.C. updates 2007-09-29 14:22:02 + My MP3 player
broke. I named it Ginji (after the blond dude from Getbackers, FYI.) I just got it 4 months ago, so I don’t know what the frickin’ problem is. Grrrr.
Onto more interesting topics…
+ ANN listened to my news tip. I am quite thrilled.

Dentsu: Geneon merely ‘downsizing’ 2007-09-28 20:10:38 Dentsu, the Japanese parent company of Geneon Entertainment USA, has a financial report on its homepage that states that
” Dentsu’s subsidiary, Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc., which undertakes
animation related business in North America, has decided to downsize its scope of
business and increase business efficiency. “
Note the word ‘downsize.’ Read more:lsquo
ANN: Geneon shutdown affects Bandai 2007-09-28 07:19:54 Well this kinda sucks…
Anime News Network is once again reporting on the Geneon case: Bandai Visual USA says that since GENEON handled their distribution, they’re going to temporarily move all of their sales to their dot-anime.us website. Which, of course, means that it will be very difficult to find their titles at Best Buy or [...] Read more:affects
Haha- I already finished the kiriban pic 2007-09-27 14:28:58
(warning: piccy is HUGE, click at your own risk!)
ONIGIRI FTW!!!
I know I said I had NO idea what to draw, but I was making sure my Photobucket albums were in order when I saw a screencap of Akira (Lucky Star) on the set of Lucky Channel. So then my psychotic little mind replaced Akira with [...]
3,333 hits (and other updates) 2007-09-27 12:29:11 Eek, 3,333 hits came waaaay faster than expected. I don’t have a kiriban pic done. >_< That’s okay, though. I’ll think of something to draw!
… *thinks* Okay, how about Yu-Gi-Onigiri? XD *shot* lol, sorry. Maybe I’ll switch to California rolls for the food theme for this one.
Anyway, I updated the screencap collections on Photobucket. and [...] Read more:updates
D.Gray-man anime to be *65* episodes. Not 64. 2007-10-12 17:50:01 Possibly 66. Only one channel on this page had ep. 66 listed, so I won’t say that it’s definite yet.
At any rate, this is a minor letdown. When they announced a second season of D.Gray-man, I expected at least 26 episodes
more (which would add up to 78 total.) I guess 13-14 more episodes isn’t [...]
EotW- Random Saimoe Trivia 2007-10-09 07:11:39 I confess: I’m finally hooked on Saimoe 2007. I have overcome my fear of disappointment and confusion all for the sake of seeing Konata win the sport of popularity. (Of course, ‘the sport of popularity’ totally killed me in junior high… but whatever.) With Kagami unexpectedly beaten and Nanoha barely making it through this round, [...] Read more:Random

J-pop: surface is underrated. Period. 2007-10-07 12:07:27 As prolific as the J-pop band surface
is, it seems like they don’t have many fans out there. They’ve done ending themes for D.Gray-man and Yakitate!! Japan, as well as some OPs and EDs for other anime. Their non-anime music is good as well; one of my favorite tracks is ‘Trigger Finger’ from the same [...] Read more:Period
Dragonaut episode 1- review 2007-10-07 11:48:59 A/N: Screenshots for episode 1 are up now~ I want to include some in this article, but Wordpress doesn’t give me that much space.
After waiting for a fansub to be released, I finally caught the much-anticipated Dragonaut on crunchyroll. It turned out that my first impressions about the series were largely correct. [...] Read more:review
Saimoe 2007- Round 2 Rundown 2007-10-04 20:10:31 I gave up on following Saimoe ‘07 for a while because there were sooooo many characters and I didn’t know half of them. Now, though, it’s the end of round 2, so there’s only 32 girls to keep track of. Here’s a basic list of what series are represented:
+ C.C. is the only one still [...] Read more:Rundown
D.Gray-man - ep. 17-20 review 2007-10-04 13:59:57 For my review
of episodes 13-16, click here.
Despite being much better than the very first episodes, this block of D.Gray-man episodes is little better than the previous one. It does, however, introduce the Vampire of the Ancient Castle Arc, which was an excellent arc in the manga. Current watchers will want to continue the series [...]
New D.Gray-man OP and ED 2007-10-03 12:47:51 Even though I’m nowhere near seeing episode 52, I caught the new OP, ‘Doubt and Trust,’ and ED, ‘Anata ga Koko ni iru Riyu,’ on Youtube:
Looks good, ne? The OP is by access, who did the third Code Geass opening, and the ending theme is by Rie Fu!! You can’t get a much better combo [...]
Nanoha StrikerS review: ep. 5-8 2007-10-02 14:10:02 Maaaan, what is it with series geared at guys? Almost all of them start out fairly weak and then suddenly get better in, like, episode 5. Such is the case with Nanoha StrikerS: nearly everything gets just plain better in this set of episodes. The only thing that seems to get worse is the animation [...] Read more:review
DDR nerds, 6,650 hits, writer desired, etc… 2007-10-17 13:58:24 You know those guys who blast their ghetto music out their car windows and think they’re so cool? There was 3 nerd guys doing that in my school parking lot earlier, only they were pumpin’ out DDR music. I’m serious. It honestly made my day.

RotW: Best Manga Artists 2007-10-16 14:24:04 I envy people who can draw AND write stories to go with their drawings. Often manga artists are more talented at one than the other; as an artist, I tend to give major cookies to those who can draw expertly. Character development is still more important, but who’ll complain if your characters are drawn well? Read more:Artists

Fullmetal Alchemist manga- vol. 3-4 2007-10-14 13:07:45 For my review of volumes 1 and 2, click here.
Despite the fact that the anime ended a long time ago, the manga version of Fullmetal Alchemist is still immensely popular all over the world. Action sequences combined with believable characters make this shonen series worthwhile. Unlike many shonen series, the character development in FMA is [...]
5,000 hit kiriban (finally) 2007-10-13 20:31:49 The funny thing is, I started this before Rika beat Mion in Saimoe. ^___^
Niipaa~ It’s Rika-chama from Higurashi! I dunno if she even likes onigiri much. >_> But whatevs; thanks for 5,000 hits everyone! It means a lot to me that you all stuck through my PMS-y rants, rough reviews and overall opinionatedness. ^__^;;;
I’ll try [...]
Dragonaut episode 2- Space Cowboyzzz 2007-10-13 14:27:47 The latest episode of Dragonaut, despite its ’startling revelations,’ once again fails to live up to my expectations. I guess expecting it to be like Eureka Seven was a little much. Despite the similiarities between the two series, it was Eureka Seven’s occasional hilarity that helped make it a hit. Dragonaut, though, takes itself too [...] Read more:Space
Saimoe round 3 Rundown 2007-10-13 11:16:16 I had no idea the whole ‘popularity thing’ had penetrated the anime world so deeply. Saimoe 2007 just shows that the cuter you are, the more popular you are…
Except in C.C.’s case. How the heck did Konoka beat her?!?!?

7,000 hits: Colored kiriban 2007-10-19 15:24:50 *duh duh DUUUUUUH* RIKA-CHAMA!!! she’s property of the creators of Higurashi, do not sue me >_< The onigiri and kitty are mine, though… ^_^
‘Kay, seriously, thanks for 7,000 hits, everyone! <3 I’ll have more reviews (including Clannad episodes 1 and 2) after I get back from my volleyball tourney. Should be Sunday before you guys [...] Read more:Colored
D.Gray-man ep. 21-28 2007-10-18 18:25:10 A/N: From now on, I’m reviewing D.Gray-man episodes in 8-episode blocks. This may seem ridiculous, seeing as some reviewers do a post for every single episode, but I honestly don’t wish to have 64 (or even 16) separate D.Gray-man reviews once the series is finished. Mkay? ^_^
With the dramatic conclusion of the Vampire of the [...]
Saimoe 2007- Final Eight Rundown 2007-10-23 14:20:46 S is for shocking.
A is for amazing… or awful, if you’re a rabid Kagami fan.
I is for idiot fake voters.
M is for… uh, moe, duh.
O is for overly supportive fanboys (’ZOMG TSUKASA PWNS J00 ALL’)

Waaaaaaay too many strikethroughs 2007-10-30 18:35:02 See all the random strikethrough things in the sidebar/bottom half of the main page? THOSE AREN’T SUPPOSED TO BE THERE, LOL. I honestly don’t know what happened…
Thanks for the 9,000 hits, everyone! Now I just need 10,000… *mildly greedy*
I really need to review something. I am way overdue for another D.Gray-man review (I’m on 53 [...]
D.Gray-man episodes 29-36 2007-10-29 14:30:52 With the brilliant Vampire of the Ancient Castle arc now over, one would expect D.Gray-man to gradually get more mediocre; yet these episodes
don’t let up much on the quality. Execution is still solid as we head into some more background-developing arcs, and the actual plot continues to slowly unfold. The hunt for Allen’s master [...]
