2 Beliefs Essential For Success
2007-08-25 13:07:00
By : Gordon BryanWant to unlock your potential? Want to move forward to success? Well neither of these will happen in a month of Sundays without belief.I always harp on about attitude being the magic word, and belief is one attitude you MUST have. Not only that, but there are TWO types of beliefs needed! The first is belief that it will happen.Whatever your goal is, however you want to improve your life, whatever wealth you want, in order for any of it to come true, you need to believe that it *will* happen. You need to know this for a fact, not just some wishy-washy hope that it would be nice, but know for a fact that it can and will happen to YOU.The second belief is in yourself as a person, and your right to succeed and enjoy abundance.Abundance is all around, but most people do not tap into it, they don't grab their fair share, because they just don't believe. They either feel they are undeserving of the good things, or they believe that something or someone will wreck their plans.Ca

The Principles of Success
2007-08-25 12:53:00
by: Craig Lock"I'd rather attempt something great and fail... than try something ordinary and succeed."- inspiring words from Norman Vincent Peale (US preacher and author) What is success? I am not going to try to define success. I think a precise definition is impossible. Is it winning a Gold Medal at the Olympic Games or winning Wimbledon, or being awarded a Nobel prize? What else? I believe personal success could be anything at all--it does not have to involve public recognition. Who is more successful? A millionaire who is unhappy, or an unnoticed person who has led a simple, happy life? The simplest definition of success I think is 'to set out to do something and to succeed in doing it'. It really doesn't matter what, or how humble the undertaking is...Believe you can succeed and you will. Achieving success in whatever endeavor you choose may be the goal of life, because it gives you freedom from worry. Could that be?Success means different things to every one of us. Some peo

5 Interviewing Tips To Get That Job
2007-08-25 12:51:00
By Marie RokerAnyone who is a jobseeker knows that looking for a new job or career is a job in itself. Once you have completed the laborious task of writing your resume and submitting it to various companies, you now have to pass the screen test to get the job. Interviews are the gateway to landing your ideal job. These five tips will help you get own your way to making that job yours.Tip 1: Be ConfidentYour first impression is your only impression.Nothing is worse than a limp handshake, slumped shoulders, poor eye contact or poor communication skills. A potential employer can tell immediately if you are the man or woman for this job by your body language. Although aggressiveness is a turn-off, being passive gives the indication that you are not sure of yourself or your qualifications. Keep eye contact when answering questions or when the interviewer is speaking directly to you. Smile occasionally to show your interest and enthusiasm. Keeping a steady gaze on the interviewer can be dis

resume formatThe candidate has different options of format to present/display the information on experience and studies: The most usual are:Chronological resumeFunctional resumeCombined resumePersonal dataChronological resume Habitually used resume format that does not always make the main target easier: TO OBTAIN AN INTERVIEWThe academic education (including masters and seminaries) and the experience appear in inverse chronological order, beginning by the present or last work and later the previous ones, and finishing with the studies:Disadvantages of this format: it shows the periods of inactivity (months, years) and/or the very frequent changes of work. This often makes the candidate cover these spaces with irrelevant information for the position. It emphasizes the person’s progression in work: promotion and increase of responsibilities are reflected, which has the disadvantage of showing if a person, although very effective in his or her work and satisfied with their role, has no

how to make success resume
2007-08-18 06:46:00
A resume is a brief, written summary of your skills and experience. It is an overview of who you are and a tool to present yourself to employers. The goal of a well-written resume is to gain a job interview. Job interviews may lead to employment!Employers and personnel managers are very busy and tend to rapidly review resumes. Therefore, your resume must quickly catch the employer's attention. Writing a brief, to the point description of your experience and skills can do this. Tell the truth on your resume. Write your resume to describe how your skills will meet the employer's needs. When applying for a job, read the job advertisement or announcement very carefully. Then customize your resume by writing up your skills to describe and match what the employer is looking for. Ten Tips for Effective Internet Article Writing
2007-07-11 22:49:00
Ten Tips for Effective Internet Article WritingBy Donald Nelson On the Internet “content is king”, and the real guts of content is the written word. If you are managing a website you need readable text for your onsite articles, for articles in your promotional newsletter or ezine and for promotional articles to be published on other sites or in other ezines. While these writing tasks can be outsourced to professionals, it is also possible for you to do it yourself if you follow a step-by-step process that is outlined in the following ten tips. 1. In the first paragraph clearly state what the article is about. In standard journalism you would tell who .... what, why, when and where an event is happening. In web articles you oftentimes state a problem, such as “how to get good written materials for your website”, and then explain how the article is going to solve the problem “by showing a simple step-by-step approach to writing”.2. Organize your material in a point-wise fashi

A Guide for Creative Thinking
2007-07-08 02:43:00
by Brian Tracy Einstein once said, "Every child is born a genius." But the reason why most people do not function at genius levels is because they are not aware of how creative and smart they really are. I call it the "Schwarzenegger effect." No one would look at a person such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and think how lucky he is to have been born with such tremendous muscles. Everyone knows that he, and people like him, have worked many thousands of hours to build up their bodies so they can compete and win in bodybuilding competitions. Your creative capabilities are just the same. They actually grow as they are used. But you don't need to spend....click read more!thousands of hours to increase your creative-thinking abilities. Finding what career suits you
2007-09-07 17:05:00
By Kate SouthamAustralians will have up to three careers over their working life and some people will have even more. That means that for today's school students there is no need to panic about getting your career decision "right". Any career path you choose that helps you build valuable skills is "right" whether it is also right for life or for just for three to five years. For example, customer service skills, basic computer skills, teamwork, the ability to sell or even to persuade others and communication skills are used in nearly every job.Accountants should be good with numbers but they also have to talk to clients so people skills and strong verbal and written communication skills are very important.Who else needs to be good with people? Wow, how long a list could I write? Pretty much every job you can think of from nurses, police officers, and entertainers to ski instructors, teachers, lawyers, builders, security guards and hospitality workers. If you decide after a few years to

Land that jobYour resume has landed you a job interview and now you must make the most of a "face-to-face" meeting to land the role. The editor of careerone.com.au Kate Southam has some practical pointers on getting interview-ready.Being as prepared as possible is the key to success in the interview game.ResearchVisit the prospective employer's website and browse through the "About Us," "Employment," "Careers," "Our People," and "Media" or "News" sections. The State Library and other large public reference libraries will be able to provide newspaper clippings on a given company so it might be worth a visit. An annual report can also be a great source of information and can be picked up from the reception desk of the company you are interviewing with. Again, State Libraries keep the annual reports of government organisations as well as a number of publicly listed companies. Career as a Technical Writer or Travel Writer
2007-09-07 16:55:00
Even experienced writers often get mixed up between on the difference between a professional relationship and a career. Getting a job as a writer for a magazine, website or a Fortune 500 company is no different (in the career sense) than getting a job as a photographer, engineer or janitor for the same employer. Although you lengthen your resume, you don't build your own platform - that belongs to the entity you are writing for. Even if you get some name recognition, which is rarely the case if you work as a technical writer, it doesn't mean much unless you are one of the top dogs at a major publication. Being "John Doe" who writes for the New Your Times or "Jane Doe" of Newsweek might help a little with a book proposal to a trade, but if the average person who reads those publications can't instantly place who you are, it's not career building material. If you leave that job for any reason, you're just another experienced writer with a resume standing in an unemployment line. The
