When Internet Experts Get Flirty 2007-10-13 23:12:55 I was surfing Digital Point which most of the internet marketers, professional blogger wannabes, online money makers, search engine optimization experts and so on will participate but yesterday, I went into a part of the forum that I don’t usually enter, the “Members’ Introduction” forum. I thought of reading those same old “Welcome to DP” and “Hi” posts and replies but a HOT TOPIC caught my eyes.
The topic “Hey , CuTe GiRl Here ^_^”, supposedly an introduction to all the forum members about your expertise and sites or blogs you own, has became something like know-girl section. “Where are you from?”, “Can you post a photo of yours?” and “When can I see you on MSN?” can be seen all over the topic. What makes me laugh is how the girl responds to all her “fans”. Hop over so that you can get the whole image.
In the end, the girl left the forum for an unknown reason. If you say tha Read more:Internet

Paid Posts And Link Trading: Can Google Stop You? 2007-10-12 22:22:43
There is a buzz on the whole webmaster world after the recent Google
Page Rank update that most sites trading links and writing paid posts have been penalized by having their Page Rank demoted. I went on bloghopping these few days and there are no signs of people stopping these activities! I got the message loud and clear from Kumiko’s post “Worried About Being Bitch Slapped By Google? Me Neither”.
One of the main reasons is that these activities are just a lucrative and simple way to earn money on the Internet or blogging. You can write up to three paid posts a day and earn easy money of minimum USD15 whereas if you depend on all advertising platforms out there such as Adbrite and Bidvertiser, you will only earn not even USD0.10 or nothing per day.
Also, Google Page Rank demotion does not only happen to a blog, it happens to most part of the blogosphere. This brought down the rank of the range of publishers. To explain more clearly, a whole range of PR5 blogs are now at PR4, wh Read more:Trading
Randomized Homepage Link For Partners 2007-10-12 03:04:22 I hope that by the time you are reading this, you noticed that my “Links” page is no longer in my navigation bar. Don’t be panic, I am trustworthy and I won’t remove your links just like that. I just got myself and all my partners in my former “Links” page something better. Hear me explain, a little boy who is innocent like me don’t cheat, OK? Moreover, most of you are grown ups, how dare me? Right?
Look at the place below my “Top Commentators” section, see the 5 links there? Now, refresh the page and look again. Noticed some changes? Yes, all the links in my blogroll will get the chance to appear in my homepage! Isn’t this great? I am planning to add in an “Advertise” page and to do this, one of my pages must give way. Thus, I have decided the “Links” page will be the one.
The page has always been viewed by me only and it is absolutely blank of contents. Moreover, a page like this will be highly like Read more:Homepage

The Art Of Permalinking 2007-10-11 02:01:42 I would like to share with about a few issues on permalinking and this will help some of those blur on this to get it right and understand the benefits of permalinking rather than linking to a person’s top level domain.
A top level domain is something like http://www.wayneliew.com and many of us, even writing about an article for example, from Wayne Liew Dot Com, have a link to my top level domain! You are doing the right thing since you are blogging about my article but not that right. There is a better way of linking. It is what I called as permalinking and what some called as deeplinking.
Permalink is the link that directly points to my article, for example, http://www.wayneliew.com/the-art-of-permalinking/ rather than my home page. Linking to it while you are blogging about the article is better because the link will be much more relevant in Google’s eyes. For an example, if I wanted to blog about the new plugin created at goldfries.com, I would have phrased my sentence as belo
Squeezing Studies And Blogging Together 2007-10-10 05:37:48 I hope you didn’t forgot my post, “Priority Besides Blogging

My test is just over and don’t be shocked that in less than two weeks’ time, I will be announcing that I am having my mock examination! The mock will be the examination before my “Examination For Graduation” and you can see how serious things will become.
I used to say that time is always not enough, especially you want to earn extra money through blogging like me and you will need to guarantee your future with such a difficult course. I have a great news to tell all my readers and I hope you all will keep me going and motivated. I managed to pass all my papers once again and I have find the right amount of time for all my routine activities. I Killed A Spam Blog For PayPerPost 2007-10-09 04:26:09 PayPerPost
has tried it’s very best to curb spam blogs, writing just for paid posts and they are recently testing out their independent blog evaluation system, Argus. I don’t know how many of you kept blog just to write paid posts for PayPerPost and don’t care about how the quality of the site goes.
I used to, until three days before I wrote this, write paid posts for PayPerPost on my old blogspot domain which is at PR5 (PR4 after the latest Google PR update). Why I stopped? I know not everyone can have the chance to write opportunity posts for PR5 blogs but writing for PayPerPost with a spam blog is just a no-no.
Moreover, I got a ban in my PayPerPost account which is from an advertiser. It sounds this way, “The traffic for this blog is amazingly low, although it has a PR5”. This does not only kill my chance of getting opportunities for my new Wayne Liew Dot Com but my account’s reputation will be spoiled by that stupid one statement! 5 Ways To Make First Time Visitors Comfortable 2007-10-08 04:54:13 I am sure that most of you will use a counter or a stat system to monitor the activities of your readers and with the tools you are using, it will normally shows how long in average that your visitors stayed on your blog like the one below if you are using Google Analytics.
All of you in average stayed on my blog for about 4 minutes and I think this is quite reasonable as my blog is still new and most of my posts are not long. Some of you might have been noticing about this and chose to ignore it but I can tell you, this shows the readability and quality of your contents. Of course, all of us have come-and-go traffic which stayed for not even 5 seconds and also loyal readers who really read what you wrote, like Sean, yung ., and Monkey Wong in Wayne Liew Dot Com which they tagged me before.
I would like to share with you 5 things that will make your readers stay long and not close your page at the time they load your blog. This is important as if they are your first-time visitors, you Read more:First

Pink Post: Are You Getting Nearer? 2007-10-06 21:04:39
The number of breast cancer patients is increasing every year and our doctors are still uncertain about what had really caused this dangerous but most of it treatable disease. You have to consult your doctor if you are nearing the risk of getting breast cancer and must go through frequent (at least once a year) body checks.
For my first breast cancer awareness post for October, I would like to share with you what are the risk factors of developing breast cancer. The following are just factors that I think are important as it is more common and typical factors that we see. You can read more of it at “What are risk factors for breast cancer?” which I get most of the information from.
The risk factors are:
Drinking alcohol – Excessive amount of alcohol is always not good for a person’s body and research has shown that the more that a woman drinks, there will be a higher risk for her to develop breast cancer.
Lack of exercise – Are you sitting in front of the computer too lon

Page Rank for Wayne Liew Dot Com update has come. Did it catch you unexpected? I didn’t believe it when I read Aunty Lilian’s post, “Wah!!!! I lost my PR5/10 - Google pagerank is moving”, stating that her Page Rank (PR) has dropped a level and also, she is stating out that Hong Kiat and Sabahan, who have PR5 labeled on their blogs before the update, have their PR deducted to 4! If you still don’t know about this news, check it out now with Google Page Rank checker.
Are you prepared? Most of us are eager for this but when it finally comes, we are all scrambled and panicked! Most of the blogs out there are being penalized and most of the deductions of PR are done to blogs with PR4 and 5, some 6 but Sabahan pointed out in his post, “Latest Google PageRank Update
- How Are You Doing?”, PR7 blogs are always above the Google strike on blogs.

Revolutionary Link Trading 2007-10-04 23:07:50 In my posts, Reinvest PayPal Funds On Blogging”, I said that you might want to invest your PayPal funds to improve your blog and one of the ways is to buy links that will be placed on a site with a high Google Page Rank or high traffic. Such link trading are often seen as too expensive or infeasible since the fees charged by some link sellers is so expensive!
I have found you a revolutionary link trading service which will blow you off with its lower prices and it has not been penalised by Google like another link trading service in town, Text-Link-Ads. This new service is called TNX.net and it can be accessed through http://www.tnx.net.
The Point System
TNX.net uses a point system which you are enabled to trade your points among friends, use your points to buy links and even sell back to TNX.net themselves to make some money. Post-Google Adsense Ban Confessions 2007-10-18 06:07:00 Many asked me why didn’t I have a GoogleAdsense
ad panel here, I guessed it was time for me to make a confession. The date I got banned by the super money maker, Google Adsense
was last year, when I started out blogging as a 16 years old kid. At that time, I don’t know how superior Google is and I got caught up with seeing my earnings blasted to over $20 a day, by clicking on my ads (I know it’s stupid, this is why I warned people through “Don’t Click On Your Own Ads”. I violated two of their term and conditions, not being 18 and invalid clicks.
At that time, after I got banned, I didn’t do anything as I haven’t wake up from my sweet dreams that Google Adsense is really a great income source for some until I started to go a little bit deeper into blogging. With my old blogspot blog, I tried to blog for traffic and do a few search engine optimisation work onto that blog but all and all, not having a Google Adsense account amputated my bloggi
Money Making By Splogging 2007-10-17 04:38:05 I came across this article “Google is the friggin sugar daddy for spammers” by Aunty Lilian or 5XMom which she talks about the recent drop of her Google Adsense earnings. She also highlighted that some spam blogs are making money coolly from the Internet using Google Adsense and her rantings continue on how Google’s reactions on her reports about such sites.
If you are a self-hosted Wordpress blogger, I am sure you have seen many of these backlinks got trapped by the Akismet Spam Filter which is pre-installed in our Wordpress blogs. DON’T DE-SPAM IT! This is really a spam. If you don’t believe me, try give that spam post a visit. I have an example for you below.
Let’s go back to my previous post, “When Internet Experts Get Flirty”. I wrote the post and immediately after the post went live, I got this linkback from a site called Blogs Feed World (they are evil, no links for them). Look at what they have did!

To Burn The Feed Or To Visit 2007-10-16 05:16:12
I enjoy bloghopping and commenting around the blogosphere, not spamming but they are all related comments. This means that if I don’t feel like entering some rants like those too personal life stuffs (relationship) and things that sounds Greek to me, I won’t force myself to comment. I enjoy bloghopping through those bookmarked blogs in my browser but I guess I won’t be doing that for long.
As I move into a more aggressive stage of learning, I want to read more blogs and after reading a method recommended personally in by Maki through his post, “The Smart Way to Get Traffic and Links: Creating a Prospect List for Bloggers” which I think will increase a blogger’s productivity, I have a thought of start using a RSS Feed Reader.
He amazingly spent only one hour daily on blogging and he is that successful now. As a blogger, you are always advisable to go around the neighbourhood instead of sitting in front of your stall and look at your stuffs rot. In this post, I will break do

This will be my second posts on breast cancer after “Pink Post: Are You Getting Nearer?” and I am sure that many of you have heard of the Pink October programme. Many will be wondering how we can help and as a frequent Internet user, I always find out ways that I can do charities. The best thing for me is to do charity free of charge. I would like to share with you through this post on how you can help breast cancer patients and offer your support to them.
I discovered Free Ways To Help @ The Breast Cancer Site which shows you a few ways that you can conduct some charity actions to help breast cancer patients. I will highlight a few easy ways that you can help to raise funds for them.

Review: Avot mV For Blogging Inspiration 2007-10-22 04:28:44 Before I start the review on Avot Media’s new video application, Avot mV, I would like to ask you a question. “Do you find your blogging inspiration from video sites like Youtube and Google Video once in a while?” What if I tell you that you can somehow in some way you can make your blog a great humour blog by just posting some jokes that you can get from video sites? Check out sites like Vincent Chow Dot Net.
The site (more on the product) I am going to review today is Avot Media which had launched a mobile video application that can be used whenever you are. Any phones listed particularly phones running on Windows Mobile can use their service to access any videos on Youtube and other video sites.
You can point the browser in your phone to Avot Mobile Site for their application downloads. I guess they are targeting the youth market and the blogosphere since they started their own blog, Avot Blog but it is not updated frequently anyway so no advantage here.

My Traffic Is Gone! My Blog Is Dying! 2007-10-21 02:35:25 The yell above can be heard around the blogosphere but I am not one of it, rest assured! Wayne Liew Dot Com is still doing fine and many thanks to you because you are reading. John Cow wrote “How To Measure Your Blog’s Success” which I find it interesting to blog about. After reading that post, what if you checked your stats and found that your traffic has declined? Choy!
Do you check your stats daily and yell with every rise or fall? What is the frequency of you visiting your stats counter? I don’t do it daily and you shouldn’t, unless you have invested millions into your blog. A steep drop in of the line might be due to the following reasons:
Holidays - During holidays, your visitors normally will not have access to the Internet and thus, not visiting your blog for a particular period is a normal thing.
Contents - This is either you are not posting for that particular day or your post for that day is not interesting. If you have been maintaining a steady Read more:Dying
6 Arts Of Commenting On Articles 2007-10-20 00:40:34 There’s a huge increase in blog comments in the blogosphere and comments are getting more important in the eyes of bloggers. The rise might also be due to the fact that many blogging gurus like Darren Rowse from Problogger.net (even if he is already a pro, he still hops around and leaves comments) which recommend that commenting on other blogs, either big or small, will bring some traffic for you.
The tips that I am going to share with you is how can you comment strategically to get attention for your comments and eventually get some clicks to your site.
The Art Of Commenting
:
Relevance - This is always the important as to get your comment under the post is to make it relevant to the topic. Don’t ever think of spamming by saying “Hi!” and then placing a link below your comment. You will get nothing but getting a block for spamming and even an appeal letter to Akismet will not get you out of the spammer jail.
There’s no need for you to place a link in ea Read more:Articles
Keeping Out Sploggers 2007-10-19 05:54:22 As I had promised most of the commentators that commented in my post “Money Making By Splogging” that I will show you all a few things to do when you encounter what I call as sploggers or leechers! These will not happen to a new blog but the longer the time you blog, you will start having these troublemakers.
Why you should get rid of them?
Copyright Issues - You squeezed your brain so hard to produce a post and all these easy money seekers are just copying your contents and publish it to their blogs without much effort placed! Will you be happy with this? If you are happy, I can’t say anything but ask you to read on.
Search Engine Bans - I am sure everyone wants a Google Page Rank and Yahoo Backlinks. These sites are just waiting for their turn to get a ban from the search engines out there since people like me will poke them out. If you didn’t delete the backlinks or pingbacks generated by these blogs in your articles, you are deemed to be linking to them and
Google Awarded Me A PR4 2007-10-26 21:37:27 After some grunts and whines, Google
at last pass by Wayne Liew Dot Com and awarded me with a Page Rank. Wayne Liew Dot Com directly shot up to PR4, which I am glad of. This is not the predicted which I did last time. This is true and this is a fact, if you don’t trust me, check it out yourself at Page Rank Checker.
This post is not to show how happy I am, this post is just to show that who previously claimed that Page Rank is going to be abolished, Page Rank will be harder to get, there will be a new system of Page Rank is jumping into conclusion too early.
Google is replacing back the mighty PR6 to Problogger.net but still John Chow Dot Com’s PR remained the same as mine. My old blogspot domain has now dropped to PR2 from the old PR5.
As I said earlier, Page Rank don’t really matter to me as I don’t sell links on my homepage and you frequently see paid posts around here. All I want are loyal readers like you who are reading this. Even though I finally got an

5 Reasons To Tap Saturated Niche 2007-10-24 04:37:53 Many blogging experts out there always tell people that “Don’t blog about blogging, don’t blog about money making and don’t blog about technology stuffs”. Why? This is because these niches are all saturated, meaning there are already too much blogs that are blogging about these topics.
I can see this and I think you can see it as well. Despite all the advice on not to tap a saturated topic, there are a significant amount of such blogs in the blogosphere. Why is it that the niche is already competitive and yet people are still jumping into the red blood ocean? I will share with you the reasons on why people tap saturated niche in this post.
Reader’s Interest
Even if there are a lot of blogs on this issue, people are always reading these stuffs. This can be easily observed. Look at all those MAKE MONEY ONLINE ads, they get clicks. Try posting a comment by the name of Make Money Online at some big blogs out there and see how much traffic you will get.

Advert Revenue - New Money Maker Review 2007-10-31 03:49:18 Today, I would like to introduce you a new money maker for your blog, AdvertRevenue
. I registered with them because I am facing a major problem with my Adbrite ads, which is similar to this, but this time, it is the spam bot’s fault!
Advert Revenue is a new player in the market, which will be competing with the great Google Adsense, Bidvertiser and Adbrite. One new thing about Advert Revenue is that the ads offered on your sites will depend on which channel that your site belongs in rather than being using the contextual ad technology like Google Adsense.
My first impression of the site is that the design the design is a bit disorganized. After a few minutes spent on exploring the site, I roughly get the idea of how the site works. Your earnings will most probably be CPM-based ($1 fixed CPM rate) which I see is quite good for a site a high traffic but low click through rate on ads.
Upon being approved by Advert Revenue, you will be given three choices of ads, it will be the b Read more:Money
6 Fatal Errors Of Money Making Blogs 2007-10-30 04:36:45
“How To Make Money
” is a very saturated niche in the world of blogging. Wayne Liew Dot Com is not a “How To Make Money” blog as I don’t specifically blog on things that will help you make money. Normally, a blog on “How To Make Money” will have a lot of followers. There are a few reasons on why a money making blog will have literally no visitors and followers which I will point out in this post.
Free Hosting
This is a major but logic problem. Setting up a money making blog on those free hosts like Blogger really makes the blog looks cheap. If a blogger or webmaster is really making money, why can’t he afford himself a paid host which is very cheap nowadays? Even some bloggers who are not earning money online and don’t monetize their blogs can afford a paid host, why can’t these so-called money making experts afford it?

5 Slumps I Gone Through In Blogging 2007-10-29 04:00:20 Yesterday, I looked back at the road I have walked through since I joined the booming blogosphere. I learnt a lot of things, how stuffs work and troubleshooting along the way but I surely have encountered some bad and painful experiences along the way. Let me share with you what I have gone through and make sure yourself don’t go through that path again.
Link Exchange
This technique has been claimed as the best way for a new blog to gain links, page rank and somehow traffic. Abusing this method is what I did when I started blogging. At that time, the excessiveness of doing link exchanges has brought me to a PR5, which is an astounding rank but then the traffic is way lower than Wayne Liew Dot Com.
At that time, I was nothing but a link exchange seeker. Every blogs and sites that come to me, including illegal download sites, poker sites and cigarette sites (luckily no porn sites ) will successfully set up a link exchange deal with me. To Dive Into A News Or To Watch 2007-10-28 00:14:13 The euphoria of the week has been the second round of Google Page Rank dance and everyone has been talking about it, big blog, small blog and even mainstream media like the Sydney Morning Herald. I am going to set up another discussion today.
The title tells it all, when hot news dropped onto your hands, will you blog about it immediately or choose to hold yourself back to look at it from the hindsight before blogging about it?
If you asked me, I have done both of it and I am very lucky that both the techniques work for me. I got a large stream of traffic when I cracked about “Malaysians’ PayPal Dream Comes True” immediately after I read about the news.
For the Google Page Rank update this time round, I didn’t blog about it when the big boys blogs are discussing with their about their demotion. I thought I will have no chance to blog about it again but yesterday, the whole thing turned around and Google rewarded me for my patience.

5 Considerations Before Placing An Ad Panel 2007-11-04 01:36:18 Dott-Com wrote “Don’t Make Them* Call You Walmart of Ads” which prompts me to share with you all what are the considerations I make before placing an ad panel on my blog. When we go to a blog and if we are greeted by a large amount of ads, we leave! Is it the amount all alone that matters? If you are thinking of whether to add in an ad panel into your blog or not, this is an article for you.
Relevance
This is the first thing that I will look at before I decide whether a new ad network is suitable for by blog. This is really important, earnings-wise and readability-wise. Although sometimes you can get some random click that might be from curious readers, misclicks and even click loves, the earnings you will get with a targeted ads will be much more higher. Removing irrelevant ads will open up more spaces for ads which are relevant and at the same time, your click through rate and earnings can be optimised.

Characteristics of A Dying Blog 2007-11-02 22:49:56
I am going to show you the characteristics of a dying blog. As a frequent bloghopper, I come across many types of blogs and I have seen blogs that are dying, which means the blogger is not going to post anything of high quality or even not thinking of posting any more. The blog will soon die off with the expiration of the domain and hosting package.
This has proved to be frustrating for visitors like us because we have placed so much trust in the blogger and giving the linkbacks which sooner will become broken links because the blog died off just like that. These bloggers sometimes don’t put up a notice or sell their blog off but instead, the blog will just die off just like that. Today, we’ll be looking at the symptoms of a blog before it meets the end of life.
Missing without Notice
Some bloggers have a long break, maybe due to a blogging break or some personal events. It will be best if a blogger can pre-write a series of post and time-stamp them to be posted sparingly over the Read more:Dying
How A ‘Cool’ Blogger Survives? 2007-11-02 00:14:32 “It Is Not Absolutely Necessary To Reply Comments” by Ah Pek inspired me to write this (I didn’t mean that he is ignorant of his readers but it is his post that made me think of writing this post). I am sure if you have been around the blogosphere for some time, you will notice that some bloggers go against the rule of blog marketing, which is setting up their blog and all they do is just posting. They don’t comment on other blogs, they don’t reply to their commentators and they sometimes don’t even care who their readers are.
These blogs are like the once China which run the “close-door” policy which they don’t interact with other bloggers and their readers. One thing that might make you thing is that sometimes, these bloggers have visitors which are twice or maybe five times more than yours. Why?
