Monday motivation game 2007-08-20 05:47:14 If you’re feeling unmotivated today, check out this game called Amberial. You use your arrow keys to bounce a ball around to beat various levels. Pretty plain and simple and will definitely take your mind off of it being Monday
! :) The other cool thing is that it saves your progress - so you can come back next Monday and pick up where you left off. Read more:motivation
Vacation links 2007-08-15 11:16:41 Since I’m on vacation I have limited wi-fi access. I used my trusty wi-fi detector to find some wi-fi (disregarding the big “WE HAVE WI-FI” sign), and actually, there are several unsecured hook-ups around here, so the detector works pretty well. I’m completely over staying my visit at this restaurant, so I’ll make this pretty quick. Here are some links
I found this morning while surfing my tech sites.
Atari 2600 Label Maker: For those of you old enough to remember the ol’ 2600, you might get a kick out of this. Make your own game label.
SMS reminders: PingMe will remind you via-text message of anything you need reminding of..
People search: Google works just as well I suppose, but this is kind of fun.
Monocycle on Ebay - too cool, but wow the price..
The Idea Generator: Hmm. I didn’t get any ideas from it.. but I suppose I’ll keep on spinning.

Read a book via-RSS or email 2007-08-14 08:50:53 DailyLit.com - this is an amazing concept for the “book-reader-challenged” like myself. Browse through the titles that DailyLit has to offer. Once you find you, you can set how often you would like parts of the book delivered to you via RSS. The book I’m looking at now is “My Life and Work” by Henry Ford. This book has 102 installments, which I can break up and have sent to me every day, or every weekday at various times. I can also choose to have the installments emailed to me.
So - if you’re a geek like me, and spend more time in front of a computer, than with the old fashioned paper items, check out DailyLit.
My new pen - video 2007-08-09 13:00:39 My wife and I have been watching a show on HGTV called “I want that!” It’s a show about new innovations and technologies that are available, just not yet heard of. The video
below shows one of them we were able to afford.
The Stingray Foldz Flat Pen!
Who’s on vacation this week @ work? 2007-08-08 20:31:41 WhosOff.com - if you manage a large group of people or would like to earn some brownie points at the office, check out Whosoff.com. This (free) site will keep track of who’s on vacation and when. You can set it up so that certain people can’t be off at the same time. Notify staff/management through email of vacations or requested vacations, a management approval system, even keep track of sick days and meetings.
Book rentals; same concept as Netflix 2007-08-08 05:42:25 BookSwim.com - rent books just like renting DVD’s from Netflix. Choose from over 150,000 titles. Prices start at $19.99 for 3 books a month.
Interesting concept if you’re a read-a-holic. Of course, my guess is that the library has over 150,000 titles too. If you’re impatient though, and want a specific book now, Bookswim is for you!
Find the best car 4 me 2007-08-07 19:21:34 Car-4-me.com - More than 4 million used cars in over 18,000 cities. Search for a vehicle, or post your own car for sale. I had trouble creating a login, so I’m going to email the webmaster to find out what the deal is. If my car sells on it - I’ll be sure to post the results!
Two FREE streaming music websites 2007-08-06 07:34:46 I’ve been using both of these websites for the past week, and can’t decide which I like better. Both rock for finding free mp3’s to listen to.
The Hype Machine searches mp3’s that are found in various blogs throughout the internet. Not only does it find the mp3’s, but it opens up a player, that lists all songs by this artist. I typed in Grateful Dead today, and chose a song to listen to, and the play popped up with about 30 Dead songs - playing the one I chose first. The search also displays videos from YouTube.
Seeqpood is like the replacement for the old SingingFish.com, which was taken over by AOL. Type in the name of a band and a list of music files will appear. You can then add them to your playlist one at a time and listen until your hearts content. I haven’t figured out a way to download these mp3 files yet, but listening to them is fine with me.
Enjoy!

What your car color means about you 2007-08-22 10:10:02 See what your car color means about you. Here’s mine:
Red
A red car indicates that you are a passionate person. You are a “take charge” kind of individual and you are at least a little wild. If you are thinking of buying a red car keep in mind that red cars still have the highest rate of theft and the highest insurance rates than any other color vehicle. Bright red paint also subconsciously sends the message that the owner is in a higher income bracket.
Although, my car isn’t bright red, more of a faded red with some dents and scratches.

Tree house rentals! 2007-08-27 14:23:54
Forget hotels, next time you’re on the west coast, stay in one of these tree houses, or treesorts as they refer to them. Most of these range from $110 and up for a night, some sleep up to 4 people. Very cool. Click the picture to check out the website.

Energy drink rating system 2007-08-26 20:19:27 Energy drink rating system: I’m not a huge fan of energy drinks, but this was pretty interesting to read. If I ever do need an energy drink, after reading this, I’d probably try out the Monster brand. I heard on the radio last week that coffee does about the same thing these energy drinks do, with no sugar (unless you add it of course). Read more:Energy

Remeber cassette tapes? 2007-09-21 09:14:35 I actually still use them pretty regularly. Both of my vehicles have tape decks and my 1 yr old iPod decided not to work anymore. Anyhow, check out tapedeck.org, it really brings back memories of making “mix-tapes” and recording songs from the radio.
