10 TIPS IN CHOOSING THE RIGHT REVIEW CENTER
2007-12-05 14:45:00
Written by Jay ofphilippinenurse.blogspot.com1. TRACK RECORDChoose a review center that has a high passing rate, this means that most of the people enrolled in their program are able to pass the test. You may also look if they produce topnotchers, but I think that the passing rate is still a better gauge.2. LOCATIONChoose a review center located in a strategic place. Some people prefer to have their review in a place near their house. This way, they are able to make their time more productive rather spending that free time for traveling. Of course there are other solutions to enrolling in a distant review center. You can opt to rent a house or dorm, or you could live with relatives living near the review center of your choice.3. REVIEWER AND LECTURERChoose a review center that employ good reviewers. These reviewers or lecturers doesn't necessarily have to be popular, what is important is that they have the credentials needed in being a lecturer and that they are effective in teaching

DoLE warns nurses vs excessive fees for NZ jobs
2007-12-18 03:59:00
Nurses looking for jobs in New Zealand, beware! The Labor department issued a warning on Monday against recruiters collecting excessive fees from applicants.Labor Secretary Arturo Brion urged nurses or nursing graduates who have been offered jobs in New Zealand in exchange for exorbitant fees to report these individuals or agencies to the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration for the filing of appropriate charges.Reports reaching the Department of Labor and Employment indicate that Filipino nurses offered jobs in New Zealand had to pay between P500,000 and P700,000 to manpower agencies that brokered for their deployment.Upon arrival in New Zealand, the recruited nurses were placed in rest homes for which they were automatically billed 15 percent of their monthly salary.Brion said the Philippine embassy in Wellington, New Zealand received complaints from victims who had been referred to the POEA for the filing of cases against erring agencies.
