Razor Ramon Hard Gay (レイザーラモン HG, Reizā Ramon HG?, occasionally HG, Razor Ramon Sumitani or just Hard Gay) is the performing name of Masaki Sumitani (住谷正樹, Sumitani Masaki?), a Japanese comedian, wrestler and tarento (“talent”). His act gained national attention and popularity when featured on the Bakushō Mondai no Bakuten! (Daibakuten) Saturday variety show on TBS Television in Japan, in 2005. He should not be confused with American professional wrestler Scott Hall, whose use of the “Razor Ramon” stage name predates Sumitani’s. Although WWE has trademarked the name “Razor Ramon” they have not responded against HG using the name Razor Ramon HG. Kiba (牙-KIBA-, Kiba? literally fang), a fantasy anime by Studio Madhouse, began broadcasting on TV Tokyo on April 5, 2006. The series is directed by Hiroshi Kōjina with Upper Deck Japan, a trading card game company, as the main sponsor. The anime is expected to be broadcast in the United States but no American producer has yet been announced. The series is more violent than other trading-card-game-tie-in animations with many characters being killed. According to an interview with the March 2006 issue of Animage, Hiroshi Kamishina, the show’s director, noted that the show “absolutely will not have any plot elements that curry favor to children”.  The Tale of the Heike (Heike monogatari, 平家物語) is an epic account of the struggle between the Taira and Minamoto clans for control of Japan at the end of the 12th century in the Gempei War (1180-1185). Heike (平家) refers to the Taira (平) clan; “hei” being an alternate reading of the kanji (character) for Taira. Renowned epic tale of the early samurai, based on real events in the close of the 12th century. when the then dominant Heike (clan of Taira) was exterminated by the Genji (clan of Minamoto), who went on to found the first shogunate in Japan. While this is written in prose, the opening lines have a regular 7-5 type meter. Versions of the work was orally recited by professional monks called the biwa hōshi who accomapnied their recital with the playing of a mandolin called the biwa.
