Back to School time 2007-08-15 13:14:03 Well it's official, my baby went off to 5th grade this morning. I get so emotional every year at this time with her, you should have seen me with her Pre School
and Kindergarten days! She is our baby so I know everything is going to be my last and final experience as a Mom- it's funny though with her older sister & brother I count the days of summer break so they can get back in School!
The older they get the more difficult they become and I fear little Eme is about to enter that dreadful stage in her life now! Her School supplies added up to more dollars than Pete likes to see, when I had all three kids going back it was around $300.00 for all their supplies!
So now it's just me and baby Brandon again- we are enjoying a nice peaceful day and liking the silence in the house, other than him saying Ma Ma over & over again! He saw a picture of me and he squealed," Ma Ma" it makes me feel so happy when he calls me that!

It's good to be home 2007-08-13 12:15:56 Were back! I don't know why but it's always so good to get back after a long trip. It was a beautiful wedding, really beautiful- I cried when I saw my handsome nephew and his beautiful bride exchanging vows- they are so young but you know what Pete was 22, I was 24 and we have made it!
I think the best part of the whole trip was just being home, under the big trees, and wide open spaces of the Country life, where you can run on green grass, and walk on sidewalks, keep your doors unlocked, and not worry about anyone breaking in- it feels so safe and peaceful there. The mountains are breathtaking, everything looks the same and yet it's different somehow- I can't put my finger on it- but it felt different- which leaves me with the feeling that I don't know where feels like home! Pete & I are still trying to figure that one out! It was great visiting with Family members that I had not seen in years, it made me feel connected and I know that part was good for my children. The little old lady 2007-08-05 15:58:53 Amelia's Play turned out cute, she was a Ghost all dressed in black, with a white painted face, and she memorized all her lines and did a fantastic job. Little Brandon kept saying, " Eme, Eme," through out the whole thing as we tried to keep him quiet.
Yesterday Sage and I went and had our hair done, and spent some one on one time going to a new candy store here in town called The Sugar Shack, Mom you would love it, we got us each a peanut butter cup with the dark chocolate, then we ordered a pizza- it was a nice afternoon. When we were in the Salon there happened to be a 93 yr old lady there and she took an interest in my daughter right away.
She commented on how pretty Sage is, and she told us that back in her day she was a hair stylist for all the movie stars in New York, she even did Joan Crawfords hair! She had pictures and everything- she was telling Sage she had the beauty to be a movie star and Sage I think felt a little
shy and uncomfortable around her but you k
Whacky Hair Day 2007-08-02 11:51:45 It was one of those days! We seriously didn't think she would actually go through with it, you know changing her hair color! Not our Emma Lu, but when she came out of her bathroom after letting her big sis dye her hair pink, we all started laughing and loving it! She looked too cute! I was so proud of her for letting Sage do that to her, I was a little shocked as well because Amelia is such a perfectionist it just isn't like her to spray her hair pink!
Carly's was blue, and they just looked so dang cute. You know me I had to get pictures! This Theater has been really good for Amelia, she is coming out of her shell, and I thought putting on a play in front of an audience would be a great experience for her.
Man was I right, she really has come a long way!

We had our Back to School shopping last week. This is always Amelia's favorite thing because she gets her Mommy one on one, and we get to go shopping, what's a girl not to like about that!
I took her to Limited Two in the Mall and she had her list all written down and knew exactly what she wanted to buy- my daughter even had it planned to the penny on how much she was going to spend- I think that's the Pete side of her coming out loud and clear! The Sales Clerk at the store helped her try on everything and continued to comment on how adorable she was,"You should be a Limited Two Model: she said! Yes that made my angel girl grin! It also did me the advantage of having my stubborn child try on the outfits that only her Mother would love- but since the cool Sales Clerk lady told her what was hot she bought it whole heartedly! Amelia's Summer Party 2007-07-27 13:48:42 Our Amelia
and her friends decided that they had to have a SummerParty
at our house. So knowing our Amelia, of course everything had to be just perfect! We had pink and yellow balloons and streamers, ordered a pizza and drinks, and had some candy and treats like you know Chocolate anything!! They went swimming in our pool and it ended up being the perfect thing to do on a hot AZ summer afternoon! Ryan didn't even get a headache this time so we have definitely made progress! Eme also had a lunch date with her best friend Olivia & Ryan, and she played golf with her daddy. As for today I get to paint her hair for whacky hair day at her workshop Theater she goes to with Carly. It has been Mon- Fri from 1 to 4, the perfect Summer boredom problem, now if I could just find something for Sage!!

More pics & a bad day 2007-08-21 11:58:45 Wedding pictures My three this August, and I like the one of all of us together, my Dad, Mom, sister, me, my other sister, and my brother! WE are never together so it was a special day! I am so very depressed over my weight gain- I hate seeing how different I look in pictures than to what I think I'm supposed to look like. I'm up to the 120 something or dare I say 130 range!! YUCK!!!! I even did good this summer, really dieting, eating right- my treadmill-- so why doesn't it look like it!! I'm having a bad morning and know that I definitely need to do something..
I could NOT sleep last night- Brandon's Dad and his marathon visits really are starting to take their toll on my nerves and I dread every morning now at 9 am, knowing that he will show up and wear out his welcome. Pictures from our trip 2007-08-20 12:44:47 We had a nice weekend, yesterday Pete & I swam in our pool- it was nice sitting under the waterfall and just being together. WE also went shopping- well Pete shops I ride along and look at magazines- it reminded me of those days when I would take Gram shopping- Pete is like her in taking his own sweet time, and trying to find the best deals - me I would much rather grab everything I see that looks good without worrying about the cost. I have figured out with my Husband when I give him so much as 15 or 20 minutes of my attention he can move mountains! I find this funny- because seriously that's all he needs - just for me to give him a little quality time than he's set for the day!
Today it's back to babysitting Brandon again, the kids in School, Brandon's Dad is staying longer & longer at my house each morning. Surviving her Birthday Party 2007-08-25 12:43:42 Woke up with a headache- Pete & I were so tired last night. We were also a bit stressed and maybe wondering why the hec we got ourselves into this mess in the first place!
Yesterday was spent getting ready for her 14th party- cleaning the house, going to the store to buy cake, pop, chips, candy, then off to Target to get Balloons, party decor,a cute little gift from sister Eme, & a special necklace & earrings from me- so I could buy that cute sack I had my eye on to wrap her gift in!! We gave her money this year for her present.
I got home and got everything ready- this took me most of the day- and it was soooooo hot here I really hate living in AZ right now- this is always the time when we want to move! The heat is brutal!

Kash is her Hero 2007-08-31 15:25:15 It's been a week already, wow! I still haven't got film developed from her party so I can't scrap anything until I get that done. It will be on my to do list for the weekend. I never let myself get to far behind on scrapping because I hate that overwhelmed feeling. Pretty girls huh!
I don't think I looked that grown up when I was that age, I was a late bloomer anyway and looked like a little girl for a long time..

's Back to School night- as I was sitting there thinking how fast it has really gone- a sad feeling overcame me-- it seemed like only a moment ago I was at her last year's Back to School night- and maybe a month or year ago when I was taking her off to Kindergarten! When we moved here she was just starting Kindergarten so I am proud to say that my baby has lived in the same town, and had the same friends for going on 6 yrs now! Believe me this is a big accomplishment with us. Pete gets restless and likes to move us around a lot.
This was when she was Bell, from Beauty and the Beast right before we moved from Port Orchard WA. She was going off to Kindergarten and I was an emotional wreck. This is how she was when we first moved to AZ, wow Mom you are right- time does fly by so fast even though some days don't feel like it!

Diamonds are Forever, aren't they? 2007-09-26 12:27:17 Weekly Update Wednesday: My beautiful wedding ring lost one of the little diamonds in it last night. We had a nice day, I woke up to Pete's coffee, and two cards from him- he even signed his name for the children's card which I thought was so sweet.
