Why Can't I Sleep On The Big Bed? 2006-12-18 17:37:24 Is it too much for a toddler to ask for a few extra hugs and cuddles before I go to sleep? I have been sick after all. All I want is to sleep with Mummy on the big bed, but I’m not allowed to. Perhaps I’ve overstayed my welcome. I had demoted Daddy to the sofa for the past 4-5 nights in a row because there is absolutely no way Daddy will ever want to sleep on the bed with me in it. There’s just no space!
So there I was pleading with Daddy, begging him to pick me up and put me on the big bed instead of the “prison” of my cot. Yes, Ayeed is right there across from my cot, but he doesn’t really care whether I sleep in our room or not. I’d rather be in the big bed. But Daddy won’t budge. Not even when I let out a mighty wail and even threatened to throw up because I cried so hard.
He said I was well enough to sleep on my own in the cot. No more “babyish” behaviour from me. He said I was a big boy and it was my room and I should sl Read more:Sleep
The Sun's Out Again 2006-12-20 02:40:04 Hooray!! The sun’s out again! After non-stop rain for the past day or so, it’s a welcome change. Hello sun!!
Too bad I can’t go out and go play at the playground. Atuk and Nani find me uncontrollable when I’m outside. And with Ayeed around …. fuggetaboutit! So I’m stuck here indoors watching TV.
Doesn’t matter. I’m sure I’ll be going out this weekend. I hope it’s not to Compass Point to buy groceries. So boring!!

Guns Or Barney 2006-12-20 08:44:37 Now, which of these is the lesser of two evils? Toy guns or Barney? Hmmm …. would I want Booboo and Momo to play with guns and shoot and maim each other or at house lizards like I did, and maybe in the process, become skilled marksmen like their Daddy and earn some money for themselves whenever they get recalled for National Service?
Evil gun?
Or do I want them to be loving, caring, polite to the point of being irritating, robots kids who think “it doesn’t matter whether you win or lose; it’s how you play the game”, a mantra which I feel is reserved for losers or people who lack ambition. It DOES matter! Especially in sports - professional or otherwise. I think it should be changed to “it’s ok to lose because you can’t win all the time, but if you don’t try hard enough, you’re better off not playing”.
I digress.
Evil giant gay dinosaur?
So which of the two kinds of toys is better? I’m ok with them playing with ei
Momo Weighed And Boy Is He Heavy! 2006-12-21 14:37:34 As part of his 3rd month appointment, Ayeed got himself checked up at the hospital. I dropped Ajab off at MIL’s place because we didn’t want him to get infected by a nasty bug or something since he had just recovered from his bout of diarrhoea.
Ayeed, not to be outdone by his brother, who by this age two years ago, had treated us to a spectacular but funny show of projectile vomiting at home one time, gave us his rendition of the same, albeit on a smaller scale when he threw up his milk all over his face and chest and got some on Trin while she was feeding him as we waited for our turn. Poor Momo! We didn’t bring an extra set of clothes for him and he had to spend the rest of the day in a smelly, possetted romper. Not that he minded, the Baby Giant.
And what a giant he is!
Weighing in at 6.48kg, the one and only …. BABY GIANT, Ayeed MOMO!! *wild cheering!*
This means that Ayeed has nearly doubled his weight in 3 months since he was born (3.44kg). Ayeed’s Read more:Heavy
Sleepy Saturday 2006-12-23 15:09:44 Why do I feel so sleepy today? I didn’t wake up particularly early; just my normal time at about 7am, although I did wake once around 4am for milky. While napping this morning, Daddy woke me up because we were going to Compass Point for groceries. I was quiet most of the time there, but I fell asleep in my baby carrier on the way home, so Mummy transferred me to the baby sling.
I woke up for milky again when we reached home, played with Daddy and Brother Booboo for a while, a had some more milky. Before long I fell asleep. This was around 3pm and I didn’t wake up until about 6pm. After my evening wash and more milky, I fell asleep AGAIN! It was only just after 7pm too!
What a waste it is to be sleeping so early on a weekend. *sigh … !* I had hoped to play some more with Mummy, Daddy and Brother Booboo, but my eyes were like a ton of bricks. zzzzz ……. !

Food On Your Head Is A No-No 2006-12-23 15:15:49 I had a queer habit of putting dust balls on my head one time not so long ago. I tried putting food on my head today. Not the food itself, but a container of my biscuits. I didn’t dare put the biscuits on my head because I was afraid I might get crumbs all over my head and on the floor. That would be a big problem, because Daddy had vacuumed the floor.
Good thing the biscuits didn’t spill out because the container wasn’t closed properly. I think I’d better stick to dust balls and bits of thread.
Tandoori And Tea 2006-12-24 11:31:12 There were the kids, Aniq and Naufal.
The mummies had lot of laughs while the Daddies watched some hot dog eating competition on TV.
I introduced Aniq to Playhouse Disney. He was transfixed!
Naufal busied himself with the wooden puzzle thingy.
The highlight of the day was the food.
And bloggers do what bloggers do best - take pictures of food.
Momo was happy with anybody who carried him.
Everybody had lots of fun and enjoyed themselves.
So did I, but I was a little tired and decided to take a rest while Aniq carried on playing.
As always, I was sad to see everyone go home. Come again, you guys, ok? here.
Airport Outing 2006-12-25 14:55:49 After the home-cooked yumminess of tandoori chicken yesterday, Mummy decided that she had enough cooking this long weekend. So we headed to the airport for lunch at Fish & Co.
Momo was all excited and didn’t want to sleep at first, but at the restaurant, they were playing soothing Christmas carols and Momo was babbling along to it and soon after he drifted off to sleep.
I really enjoyed my lunch of the Captain Hook fish and chips.
It was quite a big pan, and I didn’t finish it. Daddy tried his best to make me eat as much as I can because he says I need fattening up because I’m so skinny.
I don’t know what they put in the fish and chips, because while having lunch, my eyes got heavy and I fell asleep.
While I was sleeping in the stroller and Momo was sleeping in the sling, we had this picture taken at some Christmas … errr … forest.
I woke up later and found myself at Starbucks. Momo was already up and refused to sit down, preferring instea
Rain And Rings 2006-12-26 17:04:22 It’s raining non-stop again, my pc at work’s gone nuts and the hard drive is about to conk out and I think I’m coming down with a flu.
And oh yes …..
Today’s our 4th wedding anniversary.
Yay!
Neither of us have bought anything yet; not even a card, being the busy parents we are. And the anniversary dinner will have to wait till Friday.
Our rings may be a little less shiny, but the love is still shining as brightly as ever.

Boocast #27 - iShuffle Baby 2006-12-28 14:46:44 One fine day, after the guests had gone home after some tandoori gathering, I was left on the big bed. I was supposed to stay on the play mat. I had other ideas. Daddy didn’t mind. In fact, he liked seeing me grunt and struggle like a wounded commando. And watch how close I am to the edge of the bed. Any further, I would have been an airborne paratrooper instead of a commando.

Mummy And Daddy Went Persian 2006-12-30 04:33:35 Look at where Mummy
and Daddy
went for their belated wedding anniversary dinner yesterday!
And they had dinner at some chic place that serves Persian
cuisine called Shiraz. So nice! I guess when you’ve grown up and gotten tired of toys like I do sometimes, you go to fancy places like this to eat. I wonder if they have a kid’s meal.
For more pictures and reviews of the restaurant they went to, go to Mummy’s blog.
Oh! Did I say Mummy’s blog? Oh yes … !! Daddy finally convinced her to put some of her recipes and cooking on a blog. She’ll get help with the restaurant reviews which Daddy will do.
So go and check out Trin’s Kitchen, ya?

Operation Cot Freedom: SUCCESS! 2007-01-01 16:51:39 Operation cot freedom began with earnest today as the Daddy, in celebration of the new year, removed the cot railings that have imprisoned the Toddler Giant for the past 2 years.
Before the operation began, a moment’s silence to remember what the cot used to look like.
We were apprehensive as to whether Ajab would accept this new change.
He took a long good look at his cot, wondered where the railing had gone to, and suddenly realised his new found freedom. He promptly jumped in.
He then did what he does best - suck his thumb and twiddled his nose with the string of a bolster case.
He’s just gone to bed and we wondered how long it would be before he jumped out of bed (yes, it IS a bed now, instead of a cot. Finally!). He’s sleeping soundly, still in bed. As a precaution, we put a mattress next to his bed in case he decides to tumble out of bed. So far so good …..

The Post-Aidiladha Post 2007-01-01 16:11:26 OK, 2 of my USB ports on my pc went bonkers yesterday and couldn’t detect my camera. I could have used the card reader but it was taking FOREVER to transfer all the pictures.
As usual, with all family gatherings, there was food. A lot of food! Pictures are on Trin’s blog.
The three babies (two Giants and one Zafyra) were the centre of attention as you can see from this blog’s header. When you have three paparazzi in the house, hardly a moment goes by without someone shooting one of the kids. Ajab took the opportunity to test out Zafyra’s baby chair.
Good thing the chair’s wheels were locked. Ajab simply climbed up and down off the chair like nobody’s business. I also found him doing other naughty stuff like climbing up and down the stairs (unaided) barefoot and putting bits of half-chewed poppodum on his head among other things.
Ayeed was entertaining everyone with his latest trick - his impression of a tumbleweed. He was a very good boy, hardly c
Momo At 4 Months 2007-01-02 16:14:48
Â
Momo’s been making very good progress. Maybe a little too good. The little teapot (short and stout) is really active and is always on the move. So strong is he that we’ve stopped leaving him alone on our bed or sofa because he’ll roll over without any problems.
He’s been sleeping through the night since last month, so that means a little more sleep for us. Of course, he does wake up in the middle of the night occasionally for that night feed. But on most nights, we hardly hear a thing from the baby monitor.
On the feeding front, he is still feeding at 120ml per feed, 6-7 times a day. No wonder he’s so chubby. So was his brother, Ajab, at one point, but Ajab’s lost some weight and looks like a skinny, hyperactive toddler now. No more chubby wubby curly wurly booboo. Now it’ll be chubby wubby short and stout momo! Read more:Months
A Day In The Park 2007-01-03 16:38:11 It was the last day of the long, long weekend and my parents and Uncle Apees and Aunty Az decided to go out. We met them after lunch at Marina Square. I wasn’t sure how to react to this place initially. I thought it would be horrible like Compass Point, but it was actually quite good.
We had lunch at Secret Recipe where I had some tiny burgers and fries. The burgers weren’t very good. Read Daddy’s criticism of the meal on Mummy’s blog.
I had fun running around the food court, looking at the displays outside other restaurants, nearly running into people and furniture and basically having fun. Then it was off to Kiddy Palace where Mummy bought more mittens for Ayeed because he has to change mittens like twice a day due to his enthusiastic sucking of his mittened hands.
Kiddy Palace was where the trouble began.
I was really cranky and was screaming my head off when it was time for us to go. Mummy had to bribe me (again!) with a cheap toy car. It wasn’
Freaky Friday: Unusual Wreath 2007-01-05 09:15:57 Freaky Friday
’s back again! Thingamababy. Pretty weird-looking wreath! Good thing they didn’t make the wreath to look like some woman’s legs with the baby in the middle during its crowning period (flashback: Push!! Push!! Harder, harder, harder!!!).
Reminds me of the time Ajab was born. He was in the occiput posterior (face-up) position, unlike Ayeed, being the good boy he is, who was born in the occiput anterior position (face-down).

Momo's First Bite 2007-01-07 16:44:31 The day has come. Momo has reached 4 months and now it’s time.
For this ….
Store-bought from the appropriately-named Giant hypermart at VivoCity. Food for the baby giant bought from Giant. Just like Ajab, Ayeed will start on solids at 4 months. No 6-month rule for us! We have a history of being rebels when it comes to food. OK, maybe just me, the coffee-drinker since 4 years old.
Trin prepared the bowl and spoon, mixed one teaspoon of cereal with water and voila! Instant food for Momo in 10 seconds.
He was fussing about around noon and we knew that he wanted milk. He had absolutely no idea what hit him.
Open up and say ahhhhh!
His face was all scrunched up when he realised that for the first time, it wasn’t milk or his fingers in his mouth. It’s cereal, Momo!
Ohhh, gaaakkk ….. what’s this in my mouth??
He recovered well enough for several more spoonfuls. We recovered well enough from our initial excitement of seeing Momo feeding for the first time Read more:First
Discovered On The Web: MaxiMom Baby Carrier 2007-01-10 17:39:07 I find this product really weird. It’s a baby carrier which can be used for not one, or two, but up to three babies.
THREE BABIES!
Can you imagine having three babies strapped to your front (and back)? Some of us who have experienced carrying ONE baby in a baby carrier or sling know how tiring it can be. But THREE?? That’s a sure fire way to a bad back, me thinks!
Just look at the picture. Babies all around you! Maybe it’s good for one baby or if you’re gung-ho enough, two babies. I certainly wouldn’t want to risk breaking my back in attempting to carry three at one time!

Can I Have Another Pair Of Crocs, Please? 2007-01-10 08:46:35 Dear Mummy and Daddy,
It’s been four months since you presented me with a very nice, red pair of Crocs
for my birthday, but as yet, I cannot wear it since somebody (glares at Daddy) bought it one size too big. My feet are growing too slowly. At this rate, I’ll be three and Crocs may go out of style by then.
I’m now stuck with my Nikes which, frankly speaking, are getting a little worn out too. For your information, my Nikes cause my feet to get a little black because the insoles are becoming thin.
Therefore, may I suggest you get me these (of the right size, please!):
These are the Kids Disney Cayman Crocs. Look at the die-cut Mickey Mouse pattens. Aren’t they cute? You know how much I love Playhouse Disney, right? What better pair of sandals for a fan like me than these?
Can I have them, please???
Thank you!
Your son,
AJBB.

Baby Cap Or Hat? 2007-01-09 03:29:03 When the sun’s out (after all this wet weather we’ve been having) and it’s time to play outdoors, which would be a better choice and would provide the best protection against the sun?
Cap
Or hat?
Personally I think the hat offers better protection. And that camouflage print looks really cool for a baby like Momo. But for Ajab it’s neither. He can’t stand any sort of headgear. No way is he letting anyone put something on his head. Dust and hair balls …. we’ll that’s another matter. He loves those!
Headgear from Baby Gap.

Money Can't Buy You Good Health 2007-01-12 18:50:07 Or can it? If I had money, I can go and visit the doctor and get better. But can I guarantee that I won’t be sick again?
Yes, I have the sniffles …. again. It was just weeks ago that I had the multi-poo episodes, otherwise known as diarrhoea.
I hope I get better soon. Wouldn’t want to irk Mummy and Daddy by insisting on sleeping on their bed. But a Toddler Giant needs his cuddles when he’s sick. *sigh …. !*

I Shall Name Thee "Abang Booboo" 2007-01-14 18:23:57 A little over four months ago, I had a brother. Well, actually I was born and he had a little brother. And all this time, Daddy had been forcing me to call him “Brother Booboo”. I was doing some serious thinking and it occurred to me that it doesn’t have such a nice ring to it.
Therefore, as of today, I shall name him “Abang Booboo”. “Abang” means “brother” in Malay, of course, and I think it sounds cuter, don’t you think? I love the way it rolls off my tongue when I say it.
“ABANG BOOBOO”
Love it! But to the grown-ups who hear me, I sound like I’m talking gibberish.
Now, Abang Booboo, can I have that piece of string please? I’d like to try whatever it is you’re doing whenever you put it on your nose. Is it some kind of game? It looks interesting!

We're Sorry, Booboo! 2007-01-15 16:17:57 Dear Ajab,
Today’s events made Mummy and Daddy realise that we’ve been neglecting a very important part of you. We’ve slackened in our efforts and it was to your detriment. When Daddy saw your lips had blood stains and your thumb red with your blood, we thought that you had bitten the skin which was peeling due to your fall the other day. We washed it off and you protested. You were probably thinking that Daddy was going to make you take a cold shower. It was only later in the day that we realised the extent of your problem.
Your gums were bleeding.
Not because of the fall, but due to our neglect in your oral hygiene. We hold our hands up and admit that we haven’t been paying close attention to your teeth.
Remember the problems we had in trying to get you to brush your teeth? You struggled and screamed and wouldn’t even touch the toothbrush. But you were brave and overcame that phobia. We were so proud of you then because not a bath time goes by without yo
Booboo Hates Electric Toothbrushes 2007-01-17 10:51:08 Or any electrical appliance that emits a strange sound for that matter. The vacuum cleaner, the washing machine, the blender - all things that scare him. You can see the fear in his eyes when the washing machine goes into its spin cycle. He’ll freeze, eyes open wide and cringe whenever he hears the sound. Then turn and run away crying.
Although we’ve implemented the “brush Booboo’s teeth” campaign yesterday, we’ve come to the conclusion that a $3 ’silent’ toothbrush is better than a $30 one, especially if it doesn’t scare the living daylights out of your two year old toddler who has a phobia for whirring and rumbling noises.
The moment I switched on the electric toothbrush, he’ll freak-out, clamp his mouth shut and start crying. So this morning I had to brush his teeth, using the $30 electric toothbrush which was not turned on. It’s so cumbersome to brush with it, so ….
I bought the old and trusted ’silent Read more:Hates
