While the fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius are still laboring under the high tension wire aspects of Sun, Mercury, Venus and Saturn in Leo opposing Neptune in Aquarius, the moon entering the sign of Libra offers some relief today and tomorrow.

Since Neptune is a featured player in this week’s upcoming interplay of planetary energies, it just seems like a good idea to talk about how Neptune works in a chart.
For thousands of years, the solar system was thought to end at the planet Saturn. Then in 1781 Uranus was discovered, followed in relatively short order, (on a cosmic time scale) by Neptune and then Pluto. A few months ago, I did a reading for a client who wanted to know the prospects of a relationship with a man she was interested in. Tried and tried as I might, I just couldn’t see where there was a relationship in the first place. I mean, he didn’t even know she was alive! When I told her that I just didn’t see a relationship happening, she sighed and said “He just hasn’t come around, yet.”

Raise your hands, who remembers Gail Sheehy’s book Passages. Ok, now that you’ve just dated yourself, do you remember what the book was about? In Ms. Sheehy’s best seller, which was all the rage when I was in college, she talked about the developmental stages of adults, which was broken up roughly into the decades of our lives, the twenties, the thirties, the forties, etc. This was ground breaking stuff, since up until then the cultural thinking was that was when you became an adult, you were pretty well done developmentally, or as Judge Judy would say “cooked.�? And in seeing that the people around me were hitting these developmental milestones, what she was talking about seemed to make sense.
Then a decade later, I started a serious study of astrology and learned, ta da, that astrologers knew all about these milestones and have been talking about them for quite some time. Its not a full moon, but it might as well be. The moon in Sagittarius positions itself between Jupiter and Pluto in Sagittarius to form a tension aspect to Mars in Gemini. Gemini is a very nervous sign, highly tense and always in motion. Mars in Gemini aches for action, to be on the move. However, a challenge aspect to Mercury in Virgo holds it back in a most annoying way. It is enough to say that nerves are frayed and tempers are ready to let loose.
