Sympathy for the Devil 2007-11-13 08:16:54
In the sky right now are fast moving Venus in Libra and Mercury in Scorpio. Bound up in the dance of everyday relations this two are forming the minor aspect called the semi-sextile.
As aspects go, the semi-sextile is pretty well ignored by astrologers unless it makes a significant connection in chart. Here Venus is squaring today’s Moon in Capricorn and Mars is sextile the same. What does this mean? Venus in Libra is concerned with maintaining harmony in relationships. Mercury in Scorpio communicates in underhanded and back alley fashion, allowing distortions of the truth to serve its purposes. The Moon in Capricorn is calling for pragmatism and reliability, not Libra’s strong suit. Mercury tells the Moon what it wants to hear, not intending to honor the agreements. Venus is silently agreeing with Mercury, annoyed because it cannot get the Moon to agree with it. In other words, Venus sympathizes with the devil today.

Search for Meaning 2007-11-21 11:06:58
One sign away from the next full moon, the waxing gibbous moon in Aries is frustrated in its search for meaning by a stressful opposition the the planet of values, Venus, and an inconjunct to the planet of communication, Mercury. Aries strives for fulfullment through activity. It is self centered in its desires and often does not think about the consequences of his actions. Venus in the sign of Libra holds back Arian impulsiveness, asking Aries to draw other people in. Communications are strained and miss the mark. Best not to take too much to heart on this day.
Aries, Libra and Cancer–can’t we all just get along? One person wants to go one way, another wants to go another and in the end no one does anything. Look to your higher nature to navigate these difficult waters.

Life and Love and Everything 2007-11-19 05:52:16
I just went through the end of a special romantic relationship, and I am just at a
point in my life where I feel like I’m trying to figure myself out
more and have more self-acceptance and happiness/excitement, etc.
Can you give me any astrological insight to myself that may be helpful
to my career, relationships, and general well being?

You are blessed with great potentia in the career area, with your moon in your tenth house of career trine lucky Jupiter and a steadying Saturn in the second house of money. While you never feel like you are being paid what you are worth, at least you always seems to have enough to get by. With transiting Venus going over this combination, this is a good time to apply for a loan or ask for that raise. All this good stuff going on in the career department is so you can concentrate on the issue most important to you, self development through relationships.

Your Soul’s Purpose 2007-11-18 10:33:14
Many of us ask, what is our purpose, what I am doing here? There are times in our lives that these questions are all the more pressing, the end of a job, a relationship or the chronic illness or death of a loved one.
Often we start in one profession, then find it no longer fulfllls us, we start a relationship and with the course of time it may no longer nourish us emotionally, we have children, and those relationships have trials and difficulties despite our best efforts. Sometimes, without even a provacative event we feel that somehow life is empty and we are missing something.
The answers are never easy as we are here for no loss than the evolution of our soul. There are many stages of soul growth, with the lessons to learn becoming more complex as we master each of them. Still, astrology is a good tool in pointing us in the right direction. It is a roadmap to our lives, pointing out our strengths and weakenesses. It shows us what areas of our lifes we need to develop.

Soul Development and the Planets 2007-12-03 06:53:14 December 3, 2007
In “Journey of Souls” and “Destiny of Souls”, Michael Newton, Ph.D.,describes multiple levels of soul development, progressing from newly created souls to souls who eventually merge with the Source of all creation. Earth is just one of many environments where a soul gains knowledge and wisdom by working through challenges. These books do not talk about astrology, because that is not the point of the work. However, in reading these books it becomes easy to ascribe the functions of the planets to soul developement, providing a unique perspective on the planets.
The Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars describe the the body, the conditions of the body and the mental workings of the body. They are the “physical expression of our identity”. Though theoretically any soul could work in any body, body selections are taken very seriously to maximize soul growth. The same theme is echoed in “Astrological Revelations” by John Wi Read more:Planets

What DO You Want? 2007-11-30 06:14:04 November 30, 2007
What DO You Want?
The two most predominant aspects in this week’s series of aspects is Mar in stress aspect to the Sagittarian sun and Uranus, the planet of individuality in challenge aspect the planet of responsibility, Saturn.
Mars is in the homey sign of Cancer, content to curl up in front of the fire, while the Sun is in all action, full of fire, Sagittarius. This stirs petty annoyances and conflicts over every day matters. “I think we should have tiny red blinking lights for the house, honey”, says Ms. Sagittarius, while Mr. Cancer grumbles, unrolling the traditional multi-colored large bulb lights everyone associates, but no one else uses, with Christmas. Traditions along with duties and responsibilities are pitted against the desire for freedom of expression. Mr. Aquarius might drag home an artificial aqua colored Christmas tree, Ms. Virgo forgo the traditional candy and cookie making routine. Its just all very surreal, these stars, when the end of the
The Gateway to the Soul 2007-11-28 06:36:52 November 28, 2007
While it is said the eyes are the window of the soul, the moon is the gateway to the soul.
The moon in the natal chart represents our emotions, our gut reactions, where things hit home. It is what we carry with us into this life, an impression and a summation of the past life lessons that we are here to work on now.
Soul work is involved with how we feel about something, not what we think, intellectually, about something. You may have had a time when an emotion will hit you out of the blue, and overtake you with no earthly reason for it to happen. Prehaps there is strong reaction to a place you never visitied, a face in the crowd that seems to jog some fleeting memory, a overly strong reaction to a slight given by another person. This is your soul memory, represented by your moon, at work.
This is an important reason for you to discover and treasure the moon sign you were born with. Like an archeology of the soul, your moon sign gives you valuable clues about who y Read more:Gateway
Shocking, Just Shocking 2007-11-27 06:58:09 November 27, 2007
Today’s Moon in Cancer sits along side Mars in Cancer enjoying a ping of shocking Uranian energy.
Cancer doesn’t care what other people of thinking right now, though other people think they should attend to the things need tending to.
Libra is shocked, just shocked, at normally reliable Cancer’s attitude, though to tell you the truth, Libra is a little out there herself.
Pisces is grooving and moving to the music, enjoying the Cancer moon’s attitude. Why go to work today, anyway? Anyone say “mental health day”? I thought you could.
Virgo, though, just feels a little tied down to the day to day, though there is a sense that you are doing the same thing over and over again. Virgo, you could use a little independence yourself. Dare you give it a try?
Scorpio has been engaged in deep thought about the future. What do you want, Scorpio? Remember the new responsibilities that you are to get this month?
Normally sunny Sagittarius is

Relationships with men have always been a challenge for you. You are attracted to powerful, take charge individuals, by virtue of your sun, your planet of communications, Mercury and Venus in Taurus in challenge aspect to your planet of transformation, Pluto.
Your moon in Libra in challenge aspect to your Mars in Cancer say that you tend to (and like to) be submissive in your relationships, giving much of yourself and asking little. What you desire is the traditional role of wife and mother, with a man to provide the finances and the stability for you to fill this role. The crux of the problem is that you expect your husband to fulfill his end of the bargain, and right now he is not.
Now with transiting Venus sitting on your Moon, there is at least the suspicion (or you ha

Are you looking for a party? Sagittarius is. It doesn’t matter where it is, Istanbul, Morocco or your mother’s basement. World traveler that he is, he’ll be there and bring the entertainment. Himself. Sagittarius lights up the room with his presence. With a smile and a funny story or two, you’ll forget you are sitting in your parent’s basement. As the party winds down into the wee hours of the morning, and even the cat has gone to bed, your Sagittarian friend is still going strong. You wonder how he does it. As your mother crankily orders everyone out of the house, he invites you along for breakfast at the diner. You have to go, you know, because who else is going to pick up the check? And he’ll make you feel good you did it too. He really appreciates generosity in his friends.
Sagittarians are known for their generosity, which may be the reason why they don’t have two quarters to rub together at critical moments, like at the drive thru window of the

Follow the Yellow Brick Road 2007-12-08 06:25:46 December 8, 2007
Bad news: this weeks’ mixed and scattered energies leaves us scratching our heads. Good news: this is merely a transition to a point where our destiny meets our day to day life.
Today and tomorrow we’ll be finishing this past week’s work of examining our relationships. What works? What doesn’t? Those of us that resisted these energies since last Friday will find ourselves in tense confrontations between dreams and desires and our responsibilities represented by the people in our lives. Can everyone say “blowup” ? I thought you could.

The Astrology of Menopause 2007-12-07 06:04:40 December 7, 2007
Here is a wonderful article on the astrology of menopause that I want to share with those of us that are experiencing this phase in our lives.
The Astrology
of Menopause
What is your menopause experience? Has it been difficult or fairly easy? Having answered that question, why don’t you send along your birth date, time and place as part of an informal study on the subject?
Elizabeth Spring talks about perimenopause and menopause as being part of the series of mid-life transits starting with the Uranian opposition at 42 culminating in the Chiron return at age 51 and completing itself at the second Saturn return at age 59.
In my family’s experience, one family member has had a fairly difficult time with menopause, while I seem to have relatively few side affects (and yes, my doctor has confirmed I am in menopause.) Why? Same genetics, same environment growing up, vastly different experience. Off the bat, transiting Uranus in her chart is inconjunct her natal Ura
Will Smith: What is His Ascendant? 2007-12-06 11:27:47 December 6, 2007
Will Smith
seems set on heading towards another blockbuster hit with his new movie I Am Legend so naturally many people are taking another look at the popular rapper/actor.
An internet search easily reveals his birthdate, September 25, 1968, but not his birth time, leaving us in doubt of his ascendant, a key piece of an individual’s astrological make-up. The ascendant is the face we present to the world, the way we interact socially and the first impression people have of us.
Astrologers have tools to parse out elusive information. The technique used is called “rectification”. Using clues from physical appearance to events in a client’s life, an astrologer can nail down a possible birth time. Rectification is a complex technique, starting with an analysis of body features to narrow down the list of possible ascendants. On Will’s birthdate, the range of ascendants start with Cancer and works it way back to the early degrees of Taurus.

Soul Development and the Planets, pt 2 2007-12-04 07:47:47
Yesterday we discussed the inner planets and their relation to soul development. We pick up the discussion with Uranus.
Uranus is the planet of the wild, the unpredictable, of shocks and upsets. How then is Uranus related to soul development?
The beginner soul may live a number of lives in a state of confusion and ineffectivenes, . . . Less developed souls are inclined to surrender their will to the controlling aspects of human society with a socio-ecomonic structure which causes a large prorportion of people to be subordinate to others. The inexperienced soul tends to be stiffled by a lack of independent thinking. They also lean towards being self centered and don’t easily accept others for who they are. pg 127, Journey of Souls

Billy and Miley, A Relationship Written In The Stars 2007-12-20 07:59:23 December 20, 2007
Michel Gauguelin undertook massive studies in the position of planets and their applications in the birth chart. One study was that of planetary heredity, which after over 25,000 charts were analyzed yielded that parents and children were more likely to share traits in the their charts than not. He did not find match ups in Sun/Sun, Moon/Moon combinations, but he did find that certain planets. Moon, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn were more likely to share zodiac signs than statistical probability would indicate.
One of the most famous parent/child partnerships is that of Billy
Ray Cyrus and his daughter Miley Cyrus, star of the extremely popular Hannah Montana series. Both are immensely popular entertainers and their close relationship is shown in the stars.

Go, Go, Go! 2007-12-19 09:19:30 September 19, 2007
A frenetic Moon in Aries teams up with the powerful stellium of Sun, Mercury, Pluto and Jupiter in Sagittarius to give us that extra push to finish holiday chores. The thing is, Mars in Cancer is weighing down like an anchor, but with these fire signs in control we can use a little restraint.
Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, no one knows how to party like you. It is good though that you are keeping family concerns at that top of your list, though is does put a crimp in your style. Consider this an advance lesson in restraint that the universe promises you for next year.
Aquarius, Leo and Libra, you are super revved and putting out more than you have since the beginning of the month. Keep it going, because the rest of the month promises to keep you super busy. Get those tasks done! Watch the budget closely as Venus is Scorpio is not your friend right now.

An Astrologer's Crib Notes for 2008 2007-12-18 10:50:08 December 18, 2007
Neptune, which rules the sign of Pisces is the sign of progressive Aquarius. Uranus, which rules the sign of Aquarius is in the sign of Pisces. this curious configuration is the bridge between the Great Age of Pisces to the Age of Aquarius, encouraging us to transform Piscean ideas of spirituality into Aquarian ideas.
During the age of Pisces we were urged to "love our neighbors as ourselves" During the Age of Aquarius we will be called on to prove that we do. While Pisces rules the collective that works in a group, Aquarius rules the individual who works through groups. No longer we will be allowed to define ourselves in a group identity, nation, region, state, city, family. All of us are called on to develop and use our individual gifts for the good of all. This is a freeing concept with a terrifying consequence; no longer are we allowed to view our world as "us against them" Through Aquarian ideals of brotherhood the phrase "whatever you do to the lea Read more:Notes

Progress Your Life 2007-12-15 10:15:17 December 15, 2007
Title: Delineation of Progressions
Author: Sophia Mason
Publisher: American Federation Of Astrologers, copyright 1985
Used to delineate the evolution of an individual and as an addition to predictive techniques, progressions are powerful tools. Though there are several approaches to progressions, the most commonly used are called “Secondary Progressions”. Imagine the placement of your birth planets then move them forward one degree for every year of your life. This is your progressed position for each planet. Progressed as well are your Midheaven and Ascendant.
Progressions illustrate your personal evolution. For instance as your progressed Sun moves from one sign to another, your personality incorporates the qualities of the new sun sign. So carefree, love and leave ‘em fire sign eventually incorporates the more serious aspects of careful, practical earth planet that comes after it, the earth planet loosens up their communication style with the ai

Mars in the Driver's Seat 2007-12-14 07:02:41 December 14, 2007
Backpedaling Mars in Cancer roars like a lion in this week’s aspects. Forming a tension aspect by degree if not by sign in with Pluto conjuct the Sagittarian sun and Jupiter and Mercury crossing over to the sign of Capricorn, we are strung tighter than violin and whining just as much.
Though Mars in Cancer is said to be a weak position, the oppostion to Pluto in Sagittarius gives it more power than it should have. With Cancer we are concerned with all things relating to the home and our inner emotional needs. Sagittarius is concerned with everything but. This is a set up for a holiday season that it is stretched thin in the holiday cheer department because the financial circumstances of so many people are strained.

Ike Turner: Bad Boy Made Good, Then Not 2007-12-13 07:34:59 December 13, 2007
Ike Turner
is certainly one of the most dehumanized figures in rock history. Mention his name and the first association that comes to most anyone’s mind is “abusive husband,” not “soul star” or “rock & roll pioneer.” According to legend, Turner was a tyrannical ogre who used physical violence and psychological intimidation to control his infinitely more talented wife Tina, while indulging his own appetites for cocaine and women at every turn. That’s not entirely accurate, although by most accounts Turner did quite a bit to earn that reputation; he spent time in prison due to his drug problems, and his own refutations of Tina’s allegations of abuse have been inconsistent at best over the years.
Like the Scorpio he was, so much about Ike Turner is shrouded by his “bad boy” demeanor. Did he or didn’t he abuse Tina? He denied it, but then abusers usually do deny their behavior. Was he a heavy dru Read more:Bad Boy
Day of Destiny 2007-12-12 08:06:03 December 13, 2007
Today’s moon in Aquarius is lit up like a christmas tree by a the configuration called the yod. A yod is two inconjuncts pointing to another planet, in today’s case the moon. The yod is called the “Finger of God”, raising a battle call to face your destiny. Where Aquarius is in your chart is the area where the yod is activated.
The points of today’s yod, along with the moon, is Saturn in Virgo and Mars in Cancer. This yod is flavored with whine, and of a less than recent vintage. Inconjuncts are stress aspects, the tension arising from an inability to make a decision about the situation. Mars in Cancer is content to ride along the waves of emotion, and Saturn in Virgo keeps its head buried in its work. Too long, it seems, we’ve been content to do the things the same old way and not taking real responsibility for the results. Remember, one definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Read more:Destiny
The Year Ahead, Aries, Taurus, Gemini 2007-12-24 06:25:59 December 24, 2007
Aries
, this year your usual restlessness will hit new heights as that nasty Pluto in Capricorn pins you to the mat. Buck up, Chipper, because you have some serious work to do. Saturn in Virgo doesn't make this easy because you aren't quite sure what work you will be doing. Hint: it doesn't involve travel.
Aries in Love: Not this year. You'll be far to busy.
Aries Health: Tension headaches can plague you. Best to set up regular appointments with a massage therapist.
Taurus
: Lucky you, you are used to hard work. This you don't mind. What you do mind is change, and with unstoppable Pluto in a harmonious aspect to your Sun, that is just what is required of you. Balk as you might, changing your ideas about work and responsibility works out to the good.
Taurus in Love: You are extra cautious about who you become involved with. Watch out you doesn't keep a love interest waiting too long.

The Christmas Star 2007-12-23 09:54:30 December 23, 2007
Many years ago a fundamentalist Christian told me in all seriousness that astrology was evil because the Magi tipped Herod off to the birth of Jesus, thereby causing the slaughter of the innocents. This point of view only illustrates the lack of knowlege about astrology that results in these kinds of judgments.
The importance of the Christmas
Star is the actions it prompted. Three Magi, called “Kings of the Orient” by the King James version of the bible, undertook a long journey from their respective homelands to pay homage to the the new “King of the Jews”. The astrology of that time was typically practiced was the astrology of nations and by extension, their kings. When the astrologers came to Herod it was because they had seen the sign of the Jews in the heavens (most likely a configuration of the Star of David) and divined a new king was born. They expected that king to be in the royal palace
The symbolism of this story is that the new &l
