As you can grasp from the title itself, I will start posting reviews on applications on a weekly basis to provide some cohesion on [...]

Japanese to English Copy machine 0000-00-00 00:00:00 Working with multiple languages can be a bit of a hassle at times especially with paper work. Having worked under a Japanese

Asus EEE available for Preorder 0000-00-00 00:00:00 Asus finally opens up the preorders for this sleek (and cheap) sub-notebook.
To cut costs, Asus decided to include the Xandros Linux distribution instead of Windows. It supports WiFi b/g, uses SSD for its storage and has a mutli-card reader (full specs). Even with a seeming low battery life (3 hours probably at max) [...]

Excel 2007 Bug 0000-00-00 00:00:00 If you multiply 850 by 77.1, the result should be 65535. However, Office 2007’s computations gives out an answer of 10000.
Try it yourselves:
=(850*77.1)
=SUMPRODUCT(850,77.1)
=SUMPRODUCT(850,77.1,2,0.5)
Here’s what you’ll get with Excel
2007
While that may not be serious to you, it is obvious that businesses using Excel 2007 for tabulations and computations have their data at...

Wordpress 2.3 Features 0000-00-00 00:00:00 I upgraded Atma Xplorer to Wordpress
2.3 to test things out.
I noticed a lot of stuff after the upgrade:
An advanced toolbar to the WYSIWYG. If you’re still using Wordpress’s Editor, you’ll definitely like the addition features included like the Paste from Word and a Code cleaner.
Native tagging (you can import tags from UTW [...]

War: Movie Review 0000-00-00 00:00:00 It's one of my most awaited pairings (no not the romantic pairing, I don't have much love for romance) of all time. Jason Statham and Jet Li in a single movie! Again, The One being the first collaboration between the two.

AdSense for Youtube Publishers 0000-00-00 00:00:00 People who have been up to date with Google's purchases have expected Youtube's monetization for quite a while. I'm one of the pessimists on the idea thinking that static ads would be present on the site. How wrong that expectation turned out.

An Ultrathin, Anime-Inspired Computer Memory Chip 0000-00-00 00:00:00 It's probably a mix that few people would deem possible, but anime and biotechnology paved the way for the development of an ultrathin, Protein-based Memory

Mapua COE GC Logo 2007-10-14 10:12:10 Phew! After a few hours of dabbling in Photoshop I’m finally done with my entry for the GC logo (or whatever you call the design that will go on our shirt). I’ll be waiting for my batch mates reaction on my work so I’m still not sure if it’s going to be used or not.

Site Changes and More 2007-10-11 18:50:06 I’ll be moving to a new host in a few days (change that to now, if I’m lucky enough to find an open bank which I doubt since it’s a holiday). I’m getting tired of the timeouts I’m experiencing when getting dugged an/or stumbled. It’s happened thrice this week and after consulting w/ my hosts support, I’ve decided to go with PinoyBlogosphere’s 100 peso offer. It seems like a good deal considering it’s just 16.70 a month (for 6 months).
Now for other changes, after 2+ months of blogging on Atma Xplorer, I noticed certain topics generate more if not most of my traffic and income so I’ll focus on those and add some topics that I feel will interest you, my readers and myself. I’ll be switching my blogging style as well to provide more polished and thoroughly researched articles to improve post quality.
I’ve considered switching to Movable Type as well because of some performance issues I’m seeing with Wordpres
Mozilla aims for mobile web 2007-10-11 07:30:03 Opera is probably the best browser for your mobile device and the Mozilla
team now wants a piece of the action. While many mozila fans will go crazy over that announcement, there’s a few things I’d like to point on that the Mozilla team needs on their checklist to make it a hit:
Firefox should be re-written from scratch, not just ported from a browser version and should be implemented on a popular smartphone platform: Symbian, Windows Mobile, etc.
Allow interface with the phone’s functionality with the browser like interactivity with GPS, bluetooth ,etc.
While using Java might me a good idea now, as technology progresses and mobile specs upgrades, using C libraries would prove a better option because it won’t be hampered by hardware limitations.
You can read more of the official announcement on Schrep’s blog at Mozillazine.

Citibank on Paypal Withdrawal 2007-10-10 05:39:10 I had pause all my blogging activities to catch up on my research for my Electronic Design subject. To compensate for that, I tried to contact Citibank
on how one will go about withdrawing your Adsense income via Paypal. Here’s their reply:
We wish to inform you that once you withdraw funds from your Paypal account thru Citibank Credit Card, the amount withdrawn will be charged with Cash Advance charges. This includes transaction charge of P300.00 or 3% of the amount withdrawn plus the interest charge of 3.5 %.
I will post an update as soon as the banks that I also contacted on this inquiry gives their respective replies.
While that may put off several interested, I think the fee is worth it considering your money’s security. If you feel that’s not enough to compensate the high charge, just use Western Union.
The Gphone is not a phone 2007-10-09 05:49:19 ?The essential point is that Google?s strategy is to lead the creation of an open-source competitor to Windows Mobile,? said one industry executive. ?They will put it in the open-source world and take the economics out of the Windows Mobile business.?
The GPhone (Google Phone) is not going to be a second iPhone. Google’s main goal is to extend its reach from online advertising to the mobile Internet. The first official prototypes of the Gphone
is expected later this year and they could be on shelves early next year.

Ubuntu 7.10 available for preorder 2007-10-09 04:21:46 Shipit, Ubuntu
’s FREE CD delivery service is now taking orders for Gutsy Gibbon (7.10) shipments.
While placing my orders I noted that there’s a bit of decrease in the cds they send out:
1 Ubuntu CD (1 PC Edition)
1 Ubuntu CD (1 64-bit PC Edition)
2 Ubuntu CDs (2 PC Edition)
I’m quite sure I started with their service at a minimum of 5 cds and that was with Dapper Drake, 6.04 LTS. They must have decrease the amount per customer to accommodate the flood of newbies to linux.
If you’re wondering when Ubuntu 7.10 will officially release, use this picture as a reference.
