Top Firefox Extensions 0000-00-00 00:00:00 There are hundreds of useful (and most of the time not) Firefox
extensions to improve your browsing experience as well as bog down the browser’s performance. I choose 4 out of the flock and limit myself to them, to balance work-ability as well as the bulkiness of my Firefox install.
All-In-One Sidebar
Available via: he AiOS Repository or Developer site
Why?
If you’ve tried the Opera browser, you’d love the sidebar that’s well integrated into it. It holds everything you need like bookmarks, downloads, history, plugins/widgets, etc and you can hide the darn thing at the click of a button. All in One Sidebar (or AiOS if that seems a bit long) brings that functionality to Firefox.
If you still don’t get the beauty of this plugin in, try this scenario: You’re constantly checking your downloads, browsing your favorite site and looking for bookmarks that relate to what you are working on, all at the same time. You may get away with checking your bookm
Stages of Software Development 0000-00-00 00:00:00 Software development is a complicated process that requires careful planning and execution. Huge projects like games, operating systems and full fledge applications takes months if not years to develop. The reason why most of these products work or fail is due to it’s development process (although I’ll admit that there are instances that they fail because they plain suck). Now I’m not one for making good introductions so if you’re a novice developer, read on. You may pick up a few stuff:
1. Analysis
Ask yourself:
What input your project needs as input? Does it need names, numbers, or values?
What is the output that the project should give? How should the output be displayed? Who should use the program?
These basic questions will form the guidelines in which you’ll be referring to throughout the stages of development.
2. Planning
If you decide to start off with little or no planning at all, chances are you’ll end up with a linear development path, ergo trial and erro Read more:Stages

Global WGA outtage 0000-00-00 00:00:00 Microsoft users are experiencing problems with Windows Genuine Advantage with XP and Vista users unable to validate their installations. If you look now at the WGA support forum, you’ll see a flood of complaints for users of both OS’s, both 32- and 64-bit versions, like this one.
Microsoft is telling readers that they should “try again” later, with some reports giving a target date of August 28 for the fix.
Thank you for your response.
I’m sorry to inform you that the Windows Genuine server might be down for few days. I have escalate the issue to our Genuine team, kindly try to validate again on Tuesday 28 Aug 2007.
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Technical Support.
The problem appears to pop up when users download or receive an update. This applies to any patch and/or add-ons that requires WGA validation. If and when a validation is attempted and fails, your installation may be marked non-genuine. For Vista Ultimate users, if you reboot after a failed validation, you Read more:Global
Seagate goes SSD 0000-00-00 00:00:00 Seagate Technology LLC plans to add solid-state drives based on flash memory chips to its lineup of storage products sometime in 2008, the company said Thursday – IDG News Service
“We have solid-state drives on every road map that we have,” Bill Watkins, the company’s CEO, told The Wall Street Journal in an interview.
Solid-state drives, AKA SSDs, use flash memory like those in your flash drives instead of magnetic disks. Flash memory is non-volatile, meaning retention of information does not require power. They offer a couple of advantages over our platter-based drives— they’re lighter, need less power and are more durable making mobile devices their top application. These cost more than the average magnetic-disk based drives and currently have a fraction of the capacity but current improvements in technology continue to drag the price down as well as pack more bytes into the package.
Seagate currently has hybrid drives in the product line, which combines flas Read more:Seagate
Store your data on an atom 0000-00-00 00:00:00 If you’ve seen The Last Mimzy, the part where they showed an atomic-sized Intel chip, you probably started asking, when will we get there? IBM seems to have found an answer.
IBM stores data on an atom
As researchers look for ways to replace silicon in order to shrink chips, IBM has been able to perform functions like switching and data storage on atoms and molecules
IBM has pioneered the process at their Almaden Research lab in California. Essentially, researchers detect ‘magnetic anisotropy, a property of the magnetic field that gives it the ability to maintain a particular direction’. Since the process allows the detection of the ‘direction’ individual atoms are facing, this is the first step towards the ones and zeroes used in binary. “In a second report, researchers at IBM’s lab in Zurich, Switzerland, said they had used an individual molecule as an electric switch that could potentially replace the transistors used in mo Read more:Store
Will F2P work for RF Online (PH)? 0000-00-00 00:00:00 Upon Remembering the Commercial launch for RFO.PH (that’s RF Online Philippines), I know a lot of prospective players were turned away by the whopping 500 Php monthly fee, one that LUG had promised to be worth it in terms of fun factor and game play. A few months later, with the release of episode 2, RFO follows in the footsteps of RAN Online by offering free gameplay for life. What would this mean for current players? The influx of new players will flood the system (as it is with any new Free2Play) as people try to sort things out and see if RF is worth the time, market prices will fluctuate, etc. To gamers, the obvious question still looms: Is the update worth it?
I’ve finished downloading and installing a copy of the game from LUG’s servers and just started exploration. I will post more info once I’ve place about 20 hrs of the game.
Here’s what’s been updated for Episode 2:

Storm Hits Blogger 0000-00-00 00:00:00 And when we thought it the worst has passed.
The ubiquitous Storm
Trojan has found a new home – on spam blog sites in Google’s Blogger
network
Careful whose blog you’re reading these days: Researchers have discovered the Storm Trojan nestled in hundreds of blog sites in Google’s Blogger network.
This Storm infection is not simple comment spam, where spammers post their junk messages and malware as blog comments. “These are blogs that post spam,” says Alex Eckelberry, CEO of Sunbelt Software, who has been studying the posts. He says he hasn’t seen any legitimate blogs bites being hacked and sprinkled with Storm, but he’s still researching the trend.
Eckelberry, who first discovered Storm executable files on several blogger sites this week, says Storm is showing up on blogs that use the mail-2-blogger feature, where bloggers can post via email. Google does have a CAPTCHA defense in place to prevent this kind of infection, requiring some blogger
Midrange PC on a budget 0000-00-00 00:00:00 As an enthusiast, it’s always been my point to buy and build my own rigs. The only time I’ve bought a prepackaged pc was when I bought my laptop (little you can do there). My current rig is about 2 years old and I’m feeling it’s age whenever at every start up so I decided to build a new one. This is a canvas of what I intend to buy in the next few weeks to replace my main PC and you can use it as a guide if you’re planning on building your own rig anytime soon.
Notes:
Prices are in Php not USD so don’t flip over.
Prices may vary depending on your vendor. I choose Enigma and PCXpress, which are close by from my address and have about the lowest retail price compared to their nearby competitors
Some products may not be available in your area
I am not in anyway affiliated with the aforementioned stores.

Playstation Phone confirmed 0000-00-00 00:00:00
Sony Ericsson head Peter Anhegard, has confirmed the coming of a Playstation-branded gaming handset. Although a date is still to be set, Christmas he said although he didn’t specify which, rumors of features from the upcoming product are currently surging through the net.
If you could still recall the first phone to integrate it’s gaming as it’s main feature, ergo the Nokia NGAGE, which was a total flop, it would appear that Sony Ericsson has found itself a wide open franchise. Given that current Smartphones have hardware that perform nearly at par with the PSP, which is somewhere in between the PS1 and PS2, it’s hard to imagine what the Playstation Phone will be capable of when it comes.
The main issue to address when the idea of the Playstation Phone comes to mind of the tech-y person, would be developer support. Sure, you may have a dandy-looking phone with nice and powerful features but what can you do with it? The NGAGE flopped because there no one to
